The Branch Who Will Reign as King and Priest

From Zechariah 6:1-15, Brother Gideon Levytam concludes his study of the prophet’s eight night visions with a striking picture of the Lord’s coming judgment. Zechariah beholds four chariots emerging from between two mountains of brass, identified with Mount Moriah and the Mount of Olives, surrounding the Valley of Yehoshaphat, where the Lord will judge the nations. These chariots represent the heavenly spirits sent forth from before the Lord to carry out His judgment upon the nations and in connection with His dealings with Israel.

Following this final vision, the Lord commands Zechariah to perform a prophetic act by placing crowns of silver and gold upon the head of Joshua (Yehoshua) the high priest. Brother Gideon explains that this unusual act points to Yeshua the Messiah, “the Branch” (HaTzemach), who will come and unite in Himself both the kingly and priestly offices. Though the priest came from Levi and the king from Judah, the Messiah will be both King and Priest after the order of Melchizedek. He will build the temple of the Lord, bear the glory, and rule upon His throne in the coming Messianic Kingdom.

Well, we want to say shalom and welcome everyone to the Bible classes of the Holy Scriptures in Israel, where we study the Word of God from a first-century Hebrew Messianic perspective. We want to welcome you all, and we trust that the Lord will, will bless our meeting together. Hopefully, you have a Bible in your hand, if you don't mind, to open your Bible to the book of Zechariah, Zechariah. We are studying together the, the prophecy of Zechariah, and we have arrived to the sixth, chapter of the prophecy of Zechariah. If you will turn in your Bible to chapter six, we will pray first of all together, and I would like to read, all these verses of Zechariah chapter six, these fifteen verses of that chapter. So let's just, pray together and commit the meeting to the Lord.

Abba, our Father, thank you for Yeshua, Jesus, our Lord and our Messiah, who loved us and gave himself for us. we thank you for the Word of God, we thank you for the Holy Spirit of God, and we thank you for the Son of God, Yeshua, Jesus, the Messiah, who loved us and gave himself for us. Bless your word, we pray, for we ask it in his precious name. Amen, amen. So please, open to Zechariah chapter six. And I would like to read these verses in Zechariah chapter six. Please follow me as I am reading these, these verses together with you. And so we read in, Zechariah chapter six, Zechariah continued to tell us the things that he have seen. And so he says, And I turned, and I lifted up mine eyes, and I looked, and behold, there came four chariots, out from between two mountains, and the mountains were mountains of brass.

In the first chariot were red horses, and in the second chariot black horses, and in the third chariot white horses, and in the fourth chariot, grizzled and bay horses. And then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord? And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from, standing before the Lord of all the earth.

The black horses, which are, therein, go forth unto the north country, and the white go forth after them, and the grizzle go forth toward the south country. And the bay went forth, and brought and sought to go, that they might walk to and fro through the earth. And he said, Get you hence. Walked to and fro through the earth, so they walked to and fro through the earth. Then cried he upon me and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go towards the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.

Verse nine, And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Take of them of the captivity, even of Chaldai, of Tubiah, and Jediah, which are come from Babylon, and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah, then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua. The son of a, a, Yotzedek, the high priest. Verse twelve, And speaking to him, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is the branch, in Hebrew, Hatzemach.

He continue, and he said, And he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord. Even he shall build the temple of the Lord, and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne. And he shall be a priest upon his throne, and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. Verse fourteen and fifteen, And the crown shall be to them, and to Chelem, and to Tuviah, and to Jodiah, and to Chen, the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the Lord. And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the Lord, and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me unto you, and this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God. And so here we are, beloved brothers and sisters and dear friends, we have read the prophecy of Zechariah, the sixth chapter, and here we are right now, beloved brothers and sisters, are dealing with this very important vision that Zechariah have seen.

Again, I would like to remind us all, dear brothers and sisters, that in Zechariah, the division of the prophecy of Zechariah is giving us in such a way that in chapter 1, verses 1 to 6, God is calling to Israel to return unto Him, and then in chapter 1, verse 7, all the way to chapter 6, God gives eight Visions to Zechariah. And in these eight visions, really he provide information to Zechariah and to the people of Israel, the future restoration of the nation of Israel, although Israel will go through a time of discipline and God will deal with his own people, eventually he is intending to restore the nation of Israel. Then we will continue, of course, in chapter 7 and chapter 8, where we have these four questions about fasting. And finally, in chapter 9, verse 1, to the end of the book of Zechariah, to the end of chapter 14, we have the two burdens.

That Zechariah received from the Lord concerning the promise of the restoration of Israel and the coming millennial kingdom, the messianic kingdom, which is yet to come in the future day. Now we are still within these verses that deal with the eight visions that Zechariah received from the Lord. We have covered seven of them. And we are now in the final vision, and that is the vision of the four chariots between the two brass mountains, the two mountains of brass.

You know, when you really think about it, some of these visions are so unusual that really, unless the Spirit of God help us to understand, we will never be able to understand them, and that's why we always have to compare Scripture with Scripture. We have already covered the vision of the horsemen among the metal trees. We have covered the vision of the four horns and the four carpenters. We have covered the vision of the man with a measuring line.

We have covered the vision of the clean garment for Joshua, Israel's high priest. We have covered the vision of the lampstand and the olive tree. We have covered the vision of the flying scroll, if you remember. And we have also covered this unusual vision of the woman in a basket, which speaks of the wickedness which will be removed from among the people of Israel. Once Israel will come to know the Messiah in a future day. But in this, a portion for us in this sixth chapter of the prophecy of Zechariah, chapter six, verses one, really to the end, but the first eight verses, we have the vision of the chariots, the four chariots between the two mountains that are made from brass.

Very interesting vision, beloved brothers and sisters. Let me just remind you that in Hebrew the word for vision is chazon, and the word for a dream is chalom. And what we really have before us, beloved brothers and sisters, we have a chazon, not a chalom. We have a vision and not a dream. A vision is that which you see with your eyes open as God revealed it unto the prophet, and a chalom is something that God revealed to someone when he or she are asleep. And that's why you notice in verses 1, 2, and 3, we have the vision itself. And so here we see, as Zechariah, again, notice verse 1. Zechariah says to us, And I turned, notice that, and I lifted up my eyes, and I looked. You see, he's opening his eyes, he's lifting them up. He, of course, received this information from God, who gave him this vision, and so he's looking.

And notice that, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains, and the mountains were mountains of brass. Kind of very strange. In Hebrew, you read it like this, Very unusual. You can just imagine, here are two large mountains. From between these two large mountains, as it says here in our chapter, out from between the two mountains, these mountains of brass, we learn from verse one, coming, notice that, coming out, as it says here, the chariot, four chariots out from between the two mountains, the mountains of brass. Now let me just remind you, the Hebrew word for brass is nechoshet, and nechoshet often time in scripture, brass often time in scripture representing judgment. Let me remind you that the laver in the tabernacle, according to Exodus chapter 30, was made out of brass.

But even the brazen altar itself was made out of brass, and what happened upon the brazen altar, the brazen altar, when Israel came to approach the Lord, the sacrifices were placed upon the altar. And the judgment of God consumed the sacrifice in order for the Israeli individual to receive forgiveness of sins. Same thing with the laver. When the laver was, when the priests serve in the midst of God's people, they were approaching the presence of the Lord in the tabernacle. This is in the tabernacle in the wilderness and in Beit HaMikdash, in the temple in Jerusalem. They had to wash their hands and their feet, and it's representing that God demand that his people will be cleansed, otherwise he will judge his own people. But here, in this vision, this vision number eight, we see these four horsemen coming upon the chariots with four horses, and they coming out, these four chariots coming from between these two mountains.

Now let me just mention something that it is very important, because to remind you, That these visions that Zechariah is seeing are visions that has to do not with the church at all, because the church will not be here during the tribulation period. The church will be raptured before the tribulation will begin. In fact, the church was not in existence when Zechariah received these special visions from the Lord, and it is specifically connecting with the nation of Israel and God's dealing with Israel in relationship with the nations of the world.

And there were many, many nations throughout history that have dealt with the nation of Israel. Sometimes God has disciplined his people. If you remember, he brought the Babylonians against Israel because Israel disobeyed, and then he brought the Medo-Persians against Israel, and then he brought the Grecians, and ultimately he brought the Romans, and both the Babylonians destroyed the temple in Jerusalem in 586 BC, and the Romans destroyed the temple in Jerusalem, the second temple, in 70 AD, and you can see that God is speaking King to the nations in relationship to Israel, but he takes us now all the way to the future day when the judgment of God will come upon the nations of the world, when he will ultimately restore his earthly people Israel at the second coming of the Mashiach, Yeshua Jesus, who will come at the second coming. So what we really see here, here we have four chariots that coming out of the mountains, and these chariots of brass, and you notice that, it's representing judgment, and it's interesting also to take a note here, because you have here the two mountains, you notice that?

And I turn, and I lifted up my eyes, and I looked, and behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains. What these two mountains representing? These two mountains really representing, and most Bible teachers teaches that, representing the two mountains, the Mount Moriah and Mount of Olives. And in between these two mountains, you have that valley that is called the Valley of Yehoshaphat. The Valley of Yehoshaphat, the Hebrew word Yehoshaphat means Jehovah will judge. To remind you that, it was, the prophet Joel, in fact, I want to read for a moment, the prophecy, the prophecy of Joel. Joel, when Joel prophesied, concerning the future day, he used the word Yehoshaphat, the valley where Jehovah will judge. That's the meaning of the word Yehoshaphat. Let me just read you these, two verses here in Joel chapter three and verses one and two. we read, For behold, in those days and in that time when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem.

Verse two, And I will gather all nations. Notice that God is planning to gather all the nations of the world and to this valley. You see, and I will bring them down to the valley of Yehoshaphat. This is the valley that is called today the Valley of Rosh Hashanah between Mount of Olives and between Mount Moriah, Har Hazitim and Har Moriah. You can see it very clearly as you stand upon Mount of Olives. You can see the Kidron Valley which is connecting with the Jehoshaphat Valley and it is to there the Lord will bring all the nations in the future day to judge them in the coming days during the tribulation days. And so we read in verse 2 of Joel chapter 3, I will gather all nations and I will bring them into the Valley of Jehoshaphat and I will plead with them.

Therefore my people And for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations and parted my land. And they have cast lots for my people, and have given a boy for an harlot, and they sold a girl for wine that they might drink. In other words, God is intending to judge the nations of the world in the manner whereby they conduct themselves towards his earthly people, the people of Israel. I will bring them to this valley of Yehoshaphat, Jehovah Shaphat, Jehovah will judge. If you go a little bit further in this very same chapter, beloved brothers and sisters, and you will notice in verse 12, let the heathen be weakened. Awaken and come up to the valley of Yehoshaphat, for there I will sit to judge all the heathen round about.

In other words, there's a day coming, beloved brothers and sisters, that Joel wrote about this much earlier than Zechariah is writing. Remember, Zechariah is writing, and he received these visions at about 520 BC. About 300 years earlier, Joel already spoke about the coming days when the Lord will judge the nations of this world because of the manner whereby they have treated his people, the people of Israel. So there will be four chariots. That will come out from between, notice that between this valley of Yosefat, between the two mountains, Mount of Olives and Mount Moriah, Har Azaytim and Har Moriah, and they will come out from there, notice these mountains of brass representing judgment.

Just like the brazen altar, representing the consuming judgment of God, of the sacrifice because of sin, which is in type speaking to us about our Lord Yeshua the Messiah who died for our sins and washed our sins away. So, now in verses two and three, Very interestingly, the Zechariah, he sees the, the colors of these, horses. Notice that? The first chariot, I mean, the, the colors of the chariots, the first chariot was, were red horses, and in the second chariot were black horses, and in the third chariot was white horses, and in the fourth chariot was grizzled and bay horses.

So, Zechariah, what does he see? He sees these colorful, colorful horses, and the colorful, chariots that coming out from between these mountains of brass, the mountains of the judgment of God in the valley of Jehoshaphat. Now, of course, Zechariah is, is really puzzled. And so he is now asking, what would you do when you see such a, such a sight? Two mountains of brass, four chariots with, four colored horses, and, and you want to know what does it represent? What does it speak about? And so Zechariah sees that vision in verse three, he's asking. Notice, then answered, and I answered and I said to the angel that talked with me, what are these my Lord? Again, brothers and sisters, you can just imagine the prophet Zechariah, whose love for his people Israel, wanted to know, now Lord, what are you seeking to teach Israel, to teach your people Israel? What are these representing?

And so now, as he asked this question, he received, desired to receive an answer from the angel. Notice that angel that we see here in verse, four, verses, verse four, is the very one that, in verse four, the one that, all along gave Zechariah the, the, the information concerning the vision that he, saw. Now, I just want to mention just one more thing before we will move along to the next, verses, because here, beloved brothers and sisters, we would ask the question, what are these chariots represent with the colorful, horses, red, black, white, and grizzled? The word for grizzled, and bay simply means spotted and strong.

These, four colorful, chariots and horses definitely represent to us, something. I just want to read a verse, if you may please turn to Revelation for a moment to chapter, seven, that you can just see that these chariots are representing the messengers of God that are doing His bidding, they're doing His will. In chapter seven of Revelation, we read in verses one, two, and three, And after these things I saw four angels standing in the four corners of the earth, Holding the four winds of the earth, and the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

And I saw another angel standing, ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt The earth and the sea, and he said to them, notice verse three, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, until we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. In other words, don't judge the world until we will seal these hundred and forty-four thousand Hebrews from these twelve tribes of the nation of Israel. Judah, Reuben, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Menashe, Shimon, Levi, Saskar, Zebulun, Yosef, and Binyamin. These are the twelve thousand from every tribe that we read there in the book of Revelation chapter seven. And you notice that in Revelation chapter seven there were four angels standing in the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, and notice they are the ones that are Doing the beatings of God.

They are the servants of God. And so as Zechariah, now that we finished the first three verses of Zechariah chapter 6, in verse 4 to 8, Zechariah is asking, what does, what do these chariots represent? What do they mean? And the angel will give him now, the angel of the Lord will explain to Zechariah the meaning of these four chariots made out of brass, coming out from between two mountains, made out of brass, and the four colors that they come. And from here, the angel of the Lord helped Zechariah to understand the meaning of this vision that Zechariah have seen. Now, this is so interesting because You can see the message that Zechariah receives, that he takes it and he's able now to convey it to the people of Israel. And so we read in verse 4, he answered and he said unto the angel that talked with me, he said, What these mean, my Lord?

And so now in verse 5, the angel is answering. And he's saying to him in verse 5, The angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth. In other words, these are the four spirit beings that are standing before the Lord of all the earth, before God. And they are, according to verse 5, they are going forth from standing before the Lord. This is a very interesting expression. You know, many times you, we read of the servant of the Lord standing before God. Before someone can serve God, he or she, as believers today, we need to stand before God, to be in fellowship with Him, to have communion with Him, before we can go out and serve Him. Well, here we see that the angels, that these, these, four chariots with the horses that he, that, the angels is explaining to Zechariah, he says, these are the four spirits, or the four winds.

And the word for spirit in the Hebrew language is ruach. And Ruach can be the wind that we have here in this earth, whether it's a windy day, but it also has a reference to the angelic beings. They are called ministering spirits. In fact, in, in, Hebrews chapter one, the apostle called them, and I'll read this verse, Hebrews chapter one and verse, thirteen and fourteen. But to which of the angels said he at any time, sit on my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool? And then he said, are they not all ministering spirits? These are the angels. They are sent forth to minister for them who should be heirs of salvation.

In Hebrew, we call it Ruachot HaSharet. The word sharet comes from the Hebrew word to serve, to minister, and these, according to that angel, as he's explaining these to Zechariah, he's saying these, these, verse 5, are four spirits, ministering spirits, angels of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth. They are sent to do God's bidding. They are sent to judge this world, and to remind you, if you would look and read throughout the whole book of Revelation, you will notice how many times the angels are the ones that are Used by God to execute his judgment here upon the face of this earth. So the answer, of course, is that these chariots, these are the, spirits that came forth out from the presence of the Lord of all the earth, and they are going forth now to do his bidding.

Now, a few years ago, I was reading the, the verses, if you turn with me for a moment, to 2 Kings, chapter, 2, 2 Kings chapter 2, you remember the story of the, of the way whereby Elijah went to heaven. You remember how he went to heaven? We read in 2 Kings chapter 2, verses 9 to 12. And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I will be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.

And so you remember what we read, and he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if thou see me when I have been taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee. But if not, it shall not be so. And so we read in verse 11, And it came to pass, as they still went on, and they talked, and, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire. You remember these, beloved brothers and sisters? A chariot of fire appeared, and horses of fire, and they parted them both asunder, and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. In other words, Elijah was taken to heaven by the chariots of fire out of the scene to heaven. And, you know, I always wondered, what are these chariots of fire, you know?

Are those some sort of literal chariots of fire? Well, just go with me for a moment to the book of Psalms, Psalm 68. And there in Psalm 68, we get a little bit of help concerning these chariots. Psalm 68 and verse 17, and I'm going to read this verse to us all. Psalm 68 and verse 17, the chariots of God are twenty thousands, even thousands of angels.

The Lord is among them as in Sinai, in the holy place. The chariots of fire simply representing the angels of God that do his bidding, and they are they that are now sent to this world to prepare the world for the coming judgment according to Zechariah chapter, chapter 6 and verse 5. So go back please with me to Zechariah chapter 6.

In verse five, and there we read, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth. And he continued to explain to Zechariah, in verse six, and verse seven, and verse eight, he continued to explain, and he said, The black horses, Which are, therein they go forth into the north country. This is Babylon.

They are going out as in judgment to the north, representing Babylon. And you remember, beloved brothers and sisters, we just read in the previous, chapter five, that they will be in the land of Shinar, which is Babylon, where the, the, the sinful, people of the future day will continue to, to be away from the Lord, seeking their own mind, and they will be the one that will establish themselves there and in that land that is called the land of Shinar, which is Babylon. Judgment will come upon the land of Babylon. Babylon, as we have read in Revelation chapter seventeen and chapter eighteen.

He continue in verse six and he says, and the, and the grizzled go forth towards the south country, and the south is really has to do with Egypt and the south, and notice everything is north and south in relationship to the people of Israel. We don't read about the east and west, this is Jordan and the Mediterranean here, but nevertheless we find out that the angel give this instruction. The black and white will go north, the grizzled will go south, verse seven, the red chariots and the horses, we don't read what's happening with them, but then we read in verse seven, and the bay went forth and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth.

And he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth, so they walked to and fro through the earth. In other words, the command was the day these messengers of the Lord will go forth to and fro and prepare the nations of the world for the coming judgment that will fall upon the face of this earth. Well, in verse 8, beloved brothers and sisters, of that vision that the angel is explaining, there is a proclamation of the angel of the Lord, notice we read in verse 8, Then cried he upon me, and he spake unto me, this is the angel speaking to Zechariah.

And he's saying, Behold, these that go towards the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country. In other words, they've already gone in preparation for the coming judgment that will fall upon all the nations of the world, that God will ultimately gather them to come to the valley of Jehoshaphat and will ultimately judge the nations of the world in that valley. So now, the vision itself, verses 1 to 3, the angel explained to Zechariah the vision in verses 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, and from now on, beloved brothers and sisters, Zechariah is called to perform a symbolic act. See, sometimes The prophets of Israel were called to perform certain acts.

Like you remember that, the prophet Amos was called to go out and to, and to marry a prostitute, and he, he was, was, Israel was taught a lesson concerning God's ways with the nation of Israel. Israel were disobedient. Israel have gone astray, and so there is that, the way whereby God communicate to his people through some sort of, acts or, or a certain symbolic acts that he asking Zechariah to do, so it will convey a message to the people of Israel. So let me just, read to you what Zechariah was called to do. In Zechariah, chapter 9, really to 15, in verses 9, 10, and 11, here we have the act of Zechariah.

God's word came to Zechariah in verse 9, and the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, and now look what he's telling him. You perform this act. You take, notice that, he said to him, take of them, of the captivity, even of Heldai and Tuvia and Jediah, which are come from Babylon, and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah, the son of Zephaniah. So he's saying to Zechariah, Zechariah, I want you to do this. I want you to go to a person by the name of Heldai, and a person by the name of Tuvia, and a person by the name of Yedaiah, and you, they came from Babylon, they were those who returned from their captivity in Babylon, they were now in the land of Israel, they stopped to rebuild the temple, they needed to be encouraged, but you go to them, apparently they brought with them some silver and gold, so Zechariah was told, you go to them, you take from Heldai, from Tuvia, and from Yedaiah, you go to them, and you take from them, notice that, and you, go to the house of Josiah, the son of Zephaniah, and take silver and gold, and make crowns, And set them upon the head of Joshua, the son of Yosef the high priest.

So Zechariah, look what I want you to do. You go, take from those from the captivity that came from Babylon, from Heldai, Tuvia, and Yedaiah, take from them silver and gold, and go to the house of Josiah, the son of Zephaniah, and then make crowns, notice crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua, the son of Yosef the high priest. So what does he trying to convey to the nation of Israel through Zechariah? We read now. In the next verse, in verse 11, Zechariah is to take of them that gold and the silver, to create, to make these crowns, and to put it on the head of Joshua the high priest. Verse 11 says that they must be out of silver and gold, and these crowns will be placed upon the head of Joshua, the son of Yehoshadak the high priest. Now, this is also very interesting. Why it is so interesting, beloved brothers and sisters, because to put a crown of a king upon the priest, it's not common because the king is from the tribe of Judah and the priest is from the tribe of Levi.

But here, the Lord is seeking to teach a lesson concerning the future coming of the Messiah, who will be both a king and at the same time a priest. But because the Messiah Yeshua Jesus was from the line of Judah, he cannot be a priest from the tribe of Levi because he was born from the tribe of Judah.

So the priesthood of the Lord, of the Messiah to come, the Mashiach himself, it will be a priesthood after altogether a different order, the order of Malki Tzedek. Notice what we read in the next verses, beloved brothers and sisters, these miters that are to be placed upon the Joshua, the high priest who came from the tribe of Levi, but Joshua is a representation of the Messiah that will come as a man in the second coming to become not only the king of Israel, but also the priest, the king priest who will rule over the nations of the world. We do read in verse twelve, And speak unto him, saying, Look, notice, Zechariah Take silver and gold, take them from Heldai, Toobiah, and Yedaiah, go to Josiah, the son of Zephaniah, to his house, then make these crowns, put them on Joshua the high priest, and speak to him.

What you gonna tell him to Joshua in verse 12? Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, verse 12, Say, Behold, the man whose name is the branch, and he shall go up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord. Now see it, beloved brothers and sisters, what we find out once again, we have that man that is called the Tzemach, in Hebrew, HaTzemach. The branch, this is one of the messianic titles, that when the Messiah will come, he will be that branch. Isaiah tells us about the branch Jehovah, the God-man in that day, the branch of the Lord shall be fruitful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and appealing for the house of Israel who have escaped. This is the branch of Jehovah, Tzemach Yehovah, this speaking about the Messiah who will be divine, he will be God.

Isaiah 11 and verse 1, there shall come forth the rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a branch, once again, shall grow out of his roots. This is the Messiah that will come out of the house of Jesse. And there we can see Tzemach David speaking about him as a king. The Messiah will not only be divine, but he will also be one that will come out of the line of Jesse, the father, Yishai, the father of David, out of the tribe of Judah. He is the branch, HaTzemach.

And then we have also already read in Zechariah chapter 3, we have covered this in our previous meetings together, in chapter 3 and verse 8, Hear now, O Joshua, the high priest, thou and thy fellows that sit before thee, for they are men wondered at. For behold, I will bring forth my servant the branch. Again, the Messiah will not only be divine, Isaiah 4 verse 2, he will not only be a king, Isaiah 11 and verse 1, but he will be a servant.

My servant, the branch. Avdi Tzemach, Zechariah chapter 3 and verse 8. But here, beloved brothers and sisters, in chapter 6 and verse 12, we read of the branch, the Messiah, who will be a man. And not so much here to be occupied with him as a man who suffered, but it is in connection with the second coming of the Messiah, as he would come from glory, the man that once suffered and died, but now in his second coming, he's called the branch as well. Then speak unto him, saying, Thus says the Lord of hosts, saying, Behold, the man whose name is the branch, Zechariah 6 and verse 12, from his place he shall, branch out, and he shall build the temple of the Lord, and that speaks about the Mashiach that will come at his second coming, the man that will come from heaven.

This time he will not come to suffer and die anymore because he have done so, but he's going to come in glory and great power, and he will build that, temple, the house of the Lord, the messianic temple from where he will rule and reign over this world. This is so wonderful, beloved, brothers and sisters. So, Zechariah is to do an act, take silver and gold from Heldai, Tuvia, and Jedadiah.

They came from Babylon. Take the gold, the silver, make, crowns, place it on the head of Joshua, and say to Joshua, Joshua, what I'm doing now you might not understand, but it is speaking about the future day when the man that is called the Tzemach, the branch, when the Messiah will come, the man from heaven, the Messiah of Israel, the Savior of this world, he will come, and he will ultimately, verse 12 of Zechariah chapter 6, he will build the temple of the Lord.

Verse thirteen, He shall build the temple of the Lord, and He shall bear the glory, and shall sit, listen to this, and will rule upon His throne, and He shall be a priest upon His throne, and the council of shalom, the council of peace, shall be between them both. Now notice what he's saying, beloved brothers and sisters. You see, the amazing lessons that we learn here that the Messiah Jesus, whom you and I know today, who came down from heaven, but according to the prophecy and the, and the word of the Lord given in days of old, He will be the God-man.

He will be the promised king of Israel. But he will first become a servant and ultimately give his life a ransom for many. But he will ultimately become that man, the perfect man that will come to rule over the face of this earth. And he will have these two offices, the king and the priest at the same time. And while it is not possible for an ordinary Israeli to be king and priest at the same time because the priest came from the tribe of Levi and the king came from the tribe of Yehudah and the Lord Jesus the Messiah came from the tribe of Judah, he could never be a priest after the order of the Levitical order. He must be a priest after altogether another order. And so just to connect this for us all, if you turn with me for a moment to the book of Psalm, once again, Psalm 110. In Psalm 110, David prophetically said in Psalm 110, we read in verse 1, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

And he continued, The Lord shall send the rod out of thy strength out of Zion. Rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. He's going to be a king that will rule. But then he continued, and he says in verse 3 and 4, Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauty of thy holiness, from the womb of the morning. Thou shall, thou hast the due of thy youth. The Lord had sworn, and I, and will not repent, thou art a priest forever after the order of Malki Tzedek.

Malki Tzedek, of whom we read in Genesis chapter 14, he was that king and priest that blessed Avraham. He was not from the tribe of Levi because Levi was not even born, because Levi is a descendant of Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaakov, and Israel, one of the sons of Israel. And Malki Tzedek, this king of righteousness, was also a priest of the Most High God.

And so, beloved brothers and sisters, here we learn of the act of Zechariah that he was told to do by the angel of God. He said to him, take silver and gold, take them from Heldai, from Tuvaya, from Jedadiah, go to the Josiah, the son of Zephaniah, to the house, and then make these crowns. Then take the crown, put it upon Joshua, the high priest.

But Joshua was from the tribe of Levi. But tell, Yeshua, tell him, in verse twelve, this is the word of the Lord, saying, Look, the man will come, whose name is Branch, Tzemach. And Joshua, although you are continuing to encourage the people of Israel to build this temple, the second temple of those who came back from Babylon, the small little temple, and you encourage them and pray and present Israel before the Lord in your days, Joshua, yet the Branch, the Messiah, will come.

And he will come and he will build the temple of the Lord. He shall build the temple of the Lord, and he shall bear the glory, and the, and shall he shall sit, and he will rule upon the throne, this is the king, and he shall bear, he shall be a priest upon his throne, and the counsel of shalom shall be between them both, a king and a priest at the same time. This is fascinating, beloved brothers and sisters, to learn as we are studying here the word of God and together. Now, if you turn with me for a moment. to the book of, Hebrews, I want you to turn with me for a moment to Hebrews, chapter, seven. Notice what we read there in, in Hebrews chapter seven. Listen to what we read about the Lord Jesus Yeshua the Messiah. We read in verse one of chapter seven, For this Malchizedek, king of Shalem, and a priest of the Most High God, the author is writing, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and he blessed them, to whom also Abraham gave tenth, a part, a part of all, of all first being by interpretation king of righteousness, and after that also king of Shalem.

You are the king of righteousness, you are king of shalem, which is the king of peace, without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life, he made like unto the Son of God, abideth a priest continually. Malkitzedek was a foreshadow of the coming Mashiach, who will be a priest and a king at the same time. And so, beloved brothers and sisters, what Zechariah received here, information from the angel, judgment is coming. Upon the face of all this world, the nations will be gathered to the place that is called the Valley of Jehoshaphat. The Lord will judge the nations of the world until the branch will come, the man that will come from heaven. The man that will come from heaven. I want to read one more verse in Jeremiah chapter 23. Jeremiah chapter 23. Listen to this very interesting verse. Verse five and six.

Behold, the days come, says the Lord, that I will raise up unto David a righteous branch. That's the Messiah. And a king shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice on the earth in his days. Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely. And this is the name whereby he shall be called Jehovah our righteousness, Yehovah Tzidkenu. He is the branch that will come, and he will be the God-man, Jehovah our righteousness, but he will be the one that will come to the seed of David. He will be a king that will reign and will prosper. Judah and Israel shall dwell safely when he will come. He is called the righteous branch, Tzemach Tzadik.

And so as we continue, go back to Zechariah. And notice that as Zechariah is acting out the prophecy here, taking silver and gold, Notice also very interesting who does he take it from. He's taking it from three men by the name of Heldai, Tuviah, and Yedaiah. No coincidence why you have these three Hebrew names. Heldai means sturdy, God is firm.

God is going to firmly accomplish what he's intending to accomplish on behalf of his people Israel. Secondly, the second name by the name of Tuviah, not only Heldai, but Tuviah. Tuviah means that Jehovah is good. Tov, Yah. God, Jehovah is good. We have a good God. Jehovah is a good God. And thirdly, Yedaiah, the third name is Yedaiah. Jehovah knows everything. Because Jehovah knows everything, Yedaya, and because Jehovah is good to V'ya, He will firmly accomplish all that which He had promised to accomplish on behalf of His people, using the name Heldai. Amazing, beloved brothers and sisters, as we study together this word, the word of the Lord together. Now, just to conclude for us in the last verses, in these verses that we have read, we read about the branch.

This is the Messiah. Will come as a man in the second coming. You remember what we read in Revelation chapter one and the first, the first few verses, Behold, he cometh with clouds, and every eye shall see him, and they that pierce him, and all the kinders of the earth shall wail because of him, even so, amen. I am the Alpha and Omega, I am the beginning and the ending, says the Lord, which is and which was and which is to come, the Almighty. He's coming, he's coming.

John, Yohanan, John received on the island of Patmos, and he sees exactly what Daniel has seen in chapter seven and verse thirteen, when Daniel wrote, and he says in chapter seven of Daniel and verse thirteen, And I saw in the night vision, and behold, one like unto the Son of Man, Ben HaAdam. He come with the clouds of heaven, and he came to the ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given unto him dominions and glory and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. He's coming, he's coming, that branch, the man that will come from heaven. Behold the man whose name is the branch. Hineh ha'ish, tzemach shmo.

He's coming. You remember when Yeshua was born, Matthew 1 21, and you shall call his name Yeshua. Why? For he shall save his people from their sins. He died for the sin of this world. But he's coming again. After he died, he was buried, and he rose again, and he ascended to heaven, and he's seated at God's right hand. He's coming again to judge this world in righteousness. And his angels will do his beatings.

They will be sent out of these two mountains of brass, and they will be the one that will gather all the people, these angels, and will bring them to the valley of your Shaphat, and God will ultimately judge the nations of this earth, and will regather his people of Israel after he will refine them, and discipline them, and ultimately restore them back to himself. So let me close now with these final two verses in verses 14 and 15. Now the crowns Will be situated in the temple of the Lord, and the crown will remind now to what God promised to his people Israel. These crowns that Zechariah had to prepare, taking that from Echeldei, Tuvia, and Yedaiah, this crown will be placed now in the temple, this small little temple of the Lord, to serve as a reminder to Israel.

The Messiah will come, the branch will come, and will take in the future day his rightful place over a restored nation. And so I'm just going to read the last two verses. Verse 14, And the crown shall be to Chelem, and to Tuvia, and to Yedaiah, and to Chen. You have another name added, Chen means simply grace.

It will be to these men that are there among the remnant, the small remnant of Israel that are suffering because they were hindered from building the temple, and it took some time for them to rebuild that second temple. And, the angel is saying to Zechariah, These crowns that you have made out of gold and silver there, they will be there, as a memorial. Notice verse 14b, it says, chen, the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the Lord. Now, Zechariah, 520 BC, these, these crowns, put them in the temple, and they will serve to be a memorial, to remind Israel of the glorious future that is yet awaiting the nation, when they will repent and turn to the Lord.

And he will send his angels to bring, restore Israel back to the land, and to bring the nations of the world to the, to the, to the valley of your Shafat, and to judge the nations of the world, and to establish an amazing kingdom headed up by the rejected Messiah today, Yeshua Jesus, but he will come to rule and to reign in a future day. And so we read in verse 15, in conclusion, and they that are far off, notice that, they shall come and build, and the temple of the, in the temple of the Lord, and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me unto you, and this shall come to pass. You know, sometime we wonder, will God fulfill his promises? Will it come to pass, beloved brothers and sisters and dear friend, will the Lord Jesus the Messiah fulfill his promises to the assembly, to the church? Will he come to rapture the heavenly company out of this world and to take us to the Father's house?

Will he be true to his word? Will he be true to his word to his earthly people of Israel? Will he come back and restore them to himself as he promised? Well, listen to this verse 15. It says here, and they that are far off, this is the dispersed Jewish people, the nation of Israel that are far off, scattered among the nations, they shall come and build in the temple of the Lord, the Heichal Yehovah. And ye shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me unto you, and these shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.

What a fascinating passage it is. Although we, on our own, cannot fathom, cannot grasp these passages, these visions that Zechariah has seen, and yet they are filled with information that as we compare Scripture with Scripture, the Tanach, the Hebrew Scripture, the Brit HaChadashah, the New Covenant, the New Testament, and as we read them together with the help of the Spirit of God, we are able to understand somewhat of the faithfulness of God to His people. Of Israel. And, beloved brothers and sisters, the faithfulness of God to His people, the assembly, the church of the living God. Let God be true, and every man a liar. This is what the Apostle Paul said to the Roman believers when he wrote to them, God is faithful to His own, promises. He is the one that will fulfill everything that He had promised. And, well, beloved brothers and sisters, with this verse 15, we have concluded with the vision number eight, the vision of the four chariots and the, the, the fact that these, and the horses that represent for us the chariots of God, the angels of the Lord who is doing His bidding.

As the Lord is sending them to perform the coming day of the judgment of this world, the discipline of His people and restoration of Israel and the establishment of the Messianic Kingdom when the Messiah Jesus will come at His second coming. How wonderful it is for us to learn this from the word of the Lord. And so my dear friend, may the Lord bless His word to you, and I trust that it had been somewhat helpful to you. May the Lord bless His word and encourage us all as we continue in the study of the prophecy of Zechariah. And so our God and our Father, thank you for your word. Thank you for your promises that you will fulfill both to the nation of Israel and to the assembly of the living God. We pray in Yeshua's name. Amen and amen. God bless you, my friend. Until the next time, we say shalom, shalom. Bye-bye.
