Please turn with me to Romans chapter 5. And I'm going to read today the first 11 verses of the fifth chapter. And as I said before, when we have been dealing with the fourth chapter of the book of Romans, I said that Romans chapter 5, giving us the result or the blessings that came out of the justification that every believer receives through the Lord Jesus, the Lord Yeshua, the Messiah. And so Romans chapter 5 actually divides itself into two sections. In fact, the fifth chapter of the book of Romans is a conclusion of the theme of salvation that we have in this book. And the theme of salvation is concluded by the results of what the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, have done for us.

And so I'm reading the first 11 verses. And so I'm reading the first 11 verses. And let's see what kind of blessings accompany the salvation that we have in Yeshua, the Messiah. Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, Jesus, the Messiah, by whom also we have access by faith into his grace or disgrace, wherein we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we're glowing in tribulation, also knowing the tribulation worketh patience, and patience experience, and experience hope, and hope make us not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Ruach HaKodesh, by the Holy Spirit, which is given unto us.

For when we were yet with God, for when we were without strength, for when we were yet without strength, in due time, Mashiach died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die, yet preadventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love towards us, but God commendeth his love towards us, that while we were yet sinners, Messiah, Christ, Christos, died for us. Much more than being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For since when we were enemies, for since when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son.

Much more than being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus the Messiah, by whom we have now received the atonement, or the reconciliation. And I'm stopping here with the reading. There's so much food here for us to glean from in Romans chapter 5, but I don't know if you have noticed, perhaps it is written in your scriptures, in the King James, three different words. But what we have here, there's one word that is preeminent here in this chapter, and you notice the word here is rejoice. Let me read it to you.

It says in verse 2, By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Verse 3, again, the same word in the Greek, it is the same word. It says in verse 3, And not only so, but we glory, or we rejoice in tribulation. And the third time it's mentioned is in verse 11. It says again, And not only so, but we also joy, or rejoice in God. Notice three times the apostle writes the word rejoice. In the Greek it's ka-u-ka-o-mai. Ka-u-ka-o-mai. I'm not a Greek scholar, but I'm just telling you this is the word ka-u-ka-o-mai, meaning to rejoice, to have joy, and to have glory.

And the apostle now, he's writing to the believers at Rome, and now he's coming to the climates of the salvation. In fact, beloved brothers and sisters, Romans 5 is a commentary on the last two words of Romans chapter 4. What are the last two words of Romans chapter 4? Our justification. What he's doing here in Romans chapter 5, he's really expound, and he explains the results, and the blessings of our justification. He explained this to us, and you see, he's showing to us now, that being justified, being saved, being forgiven, like I trust all of us here in this room. Being saved means it's not only that I'm going to heaven, oh, how blessed it is to know that we are going to heaven.

When somebody died in Mashiach, in Christ, he is absent from the body, and he is present with the Lord. When we are going to leave this sin, we are going to be with Yeshua forever and ever, never to be separated from him. But salvation is also include the time in which God has left us here in this world. And so Paul, Shaul, is writing and he shows us the blessing that is associated with our justification. And so actually, he's stating here seven blessings that are connected or related to our justification. I remember listening to J. Vernon McGee, and he was telling the story of a person that as he was preaching, or someone was preaching the message, he said to him this, he said, I don't care about there and then, I'm concerned about here and now.

What the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, can give me here and now? Oh, I'm not worried about there and then. And the answer was to him in Romans chapter 7. There are many blessings that are associated with our salvation. So let me begin by following those verses with you together. The first thing that we learn about in this chapter, the first thing that the Apostle Paul is showing to us, the first blessing which accompany our justification is peace with God. Shalom im Elohim. You know, this is so precious to think about the fact that now we have accepted Yeshua into our lives. We have embraced him. We have made him our Lord and our Savior.

You know what happened? The war is over. When I was a little boy in 1967, the war, the six-day war, I'll never forget it. I was a young lad, a young boy in Yerushalayim, and I remember so clearly the bombs that were falling down, the airplanes flying all over Jerusalem, the sight that you could even see if you come out of the apartment, wherever you were under, if you've been in a bomb shelter. In our case, we didn't have a bomb shelter, but we were in the lower level, the whole family and all the neighborhood all slipping down on the floor in the six-day war. I'll never forget hearing the noise and the fear, the fear that we have heard in our own hearts when we have heard the noise, the shooting, all kind of noises that we have heard, and we are sitting there as little kids and with our parents, our family, and in fear because of war.

And when the war was over, what an ease it came to our own hearts. We could come out from the dark. We had to cover our home, no lights at night. So no airplane, perhaps of the Jordanian or any other army, will come and be able to shoot down into Jerusalem, into our home. Everything was in darkness. And when the war was over, what a load came out down from our hearts because we knew that the war was over. Thank God in this war Israel won. And Israel had been victorious in this case, and it is only by the grace of God that God had preserved our people.

But the relief that came out of the heart when the war was over. You see what happened right now, beloved brothers and sisters, Paul is teaching the Romans believer. He says, listen, we have been justified by simply believing on the Lord Yeshua, the Messiah, and on the finished work that He has done on the tree for us. And now we have shalom, peace with God. Peace with God. And you notice it says in verse 1, it is only through the Lord Yeshua, the Messiah. He says, being justified, declared righteous by God, we have peace with God. Shalom in Elohim, shalom with God. And you notice, let me just read you a couple of verses.

If you turn with me to the prophet Isaiah for a moment, I want you to turn to Isaiah 48. You'll see what Isaiah is saying and what God is saying about the human race. God says in verse 22 of Isaiah, chapter 48, He says, There is no peace, says the Lord unto the wicked. Ain shalom amar Adonai l'reshayim. There is no peace, says the Lord unto the wicked. There is no peace. In fact, that verse is quoted very similar in chapter 57 of the prophet Isaiah, in the last verse as well. And he's quoting and he's saying really the same thing. There is no peace, says my God unto the wicked.

And you know what, beloved? You and I were counted among the wicked, among the ungodly. And because of the finished work of the Messiah, we have peace with God. There is an assurance that there is shalom with God, that God is no longer the wrath of God already fell upon another. The judgment that we deserve because of our sins fell on Yeshua, the Lord Jesus, the Messiah. And there is peace now. Peace, beloved brothers and sisters, that we have with God. Now, we have to distinguish the word peace with God and the peace of God that we have in the book of Philippians, in chapter 4 and verses 6 and 7.

In Philippians chapter 4 and verses 6 and 7, it is the peace of God. In Romans chapter 5 and verse 1, it is peace with God. And there is a difference between the peace with God and the peace of God. And the difference is simply this. The one applied to a sinner who accepted the Messiah, accepted the Lord Jesus, and now he has peace with God. He is once and for all have dealt with the question of sin. The other, in Philippians chapter 4, has to do with the saint who is walking here in this world. And as he is in close communion with the Lord, he has the peace of God that guard him, that watches over him, that leads him, that moves him about in his life.

That's the saint, the believer in a Messiah, who is walking with the Lord here in this world. Philippians chapter 4, verses 6 and 7. But Romans chapter 5 and verse 1, we have peace, peace, once and for all, peace, shalom with God. And it is through the finished work of our blessed Lord Jesus, the Messiah. In Psalm 85, we read this, listen, Psalm 85, and the verse is in verse 10. It is the psalm that deals about the peace offering. Psalm 85, verse 10, we read, mercy and truth are met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed each other. This is the cross. Where the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, where Yeshua, the Messiah, died for us on the cross, God's righteousness had been vindicated, and now he can turn around and provide peace for a person that we believe in, Yeshua, the Messiah.

The truth of God and the mercy of God have met together at the cross, at the tree, where Yeshua, the Messiah, died for us, and now God can provide righteousness and peace to those who believe in his dear son, Yeshua, the Messiah. And so the first thing that we have, beloved brothers and sisters, is peace with God. I hope every one of us today here in this room can say, I know that my sins are forgiven. I have confessed my sins before the Lord. I have accepted him as my Savior. I said, Lord, the answer for my sins is the work that Yeshua, the Messiah, has finished for me on the cross.

I accept him as my Lord and Savior. And God now saying to all of us, he said, you have peace with God. And it is through our Lord Jesus, the Messiah. What a relief it is. You know what a relief is like? To know that should something happen to you and I today, I know, you know, on a basis of God's word, that if the Lord decided to take me out of this world, I know where I'm going. My Savior has finished for me the work for me on the cross. My sins, though so great, and so many, have been removed away because God is satisfied with the work of his Son.

That's the relief, the load that we carried of our own sin and sins. Now God can remove it because of the finished work of the Lord Jesus, the Messiah. And so, it is wonderful to know that we have peace. And you notice, it says, we have peace. Not we may have, not we might have if we will be just good enough and if we'll keep a few laws good enough. No. We have it. It's present experience and present truth that we have right now. We don't need to wait for that in the future. It's very similar to John 3.16. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth on him shall not perish but have present experience right now everlasting life.

That's wonderful. We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus, the Messiah. That makes us treasure, value in our hearts the work that Yeshua had accomplished for us on the tree. And that makes us worshippers of the one that loved us and gave himself for us. So, that's what they have. That's what we have. But now he's moving to the second thing and the second fact, the second blessing that is associated with our justification is found in verse 2a. It says, by whom, meaning by Yeshua, by the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, we have, and notice again present, we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand.

Now here's the second word that is very important, to have access. To have access, here this word, for the word access, it really simply means that we have an entrance into the presence of a king through the favor of another. To have access is to have favor and entrance to the presence of God through the favor of another. Do you know, beloved brothers and sisters, if you look throughout history, and especially today we read in the book of Exodus, you remember, when God gave the law to our people, the people of Israel, do you remember that when Israel received the law, Israel said to Moses, Moses, don't let God speak to us.

Moses, we will hear you, but we will stay far off. God said, Israel, you cannot even touch the mountain, you stay far off. Why? Because God in his holy demand could not be in the midst of a nation who needed forgiveness, otherwise he will consume the nation. The law of God brought a distance between a holy God and a sinful nation. It could be any other nation, not only Israel, any other nation who would have been under the law would never have an access to the presence of God in the way that you and I have it today through our Lord Jesus, the Messiah. It put them at a distance.

It put the nation at a distance. If you remember, and I'm going to refer to some verses in the scripture, there was a distance between God and the nation. But what happened? That distance had to be moved aside, removed. How can that distance be removed? Well, if you remember, on the day of atonement, only Aaron himself once a year on Yom HaKippurim could come into the immediate presence of God in the Holy of Holies, in the Kodesh HaKodeshim, but he could not come as he pleased. He had to come with the blood first of all for himself, then for his family, and then for the rest of his people, the nation of Israel.

And so that is teaching us that there was always a distance, the veil was always there, they could not come near. And if you were a Gentile, you didn't even get closer at all. If you remember the temple, there was five courts, and the court of the Gentile was far away. They could not come near. In fact, there was a sign saying that if a Gentile will come further, they will die. God will not allow them to come near. But what happened now, beloved brothers and sisters, through the finished work of Yeshua, the Messiah? It says, by whom? By Yeshua, by Jesus the Messiah, by Jesus Christ, we also, meaning you Gentiles at Rome, and I myself, a Jewish believer, the Apostle Paul, we have access by faith, not by words, by faith, into this grace wherein we stand.

We have an access. We can draw near like we could have never drawn near before. It is because of the finished work of our blessed Lord Jesus the Messiah. Let me read you a verse for a moment. If you turn with me to the Gospel of Matthew, please, Matthew chapter 27. Yeshua the Messiah is on the cross. And we read in Matthew chapter 27 this. And I'm reading verse 46. And about the ninth hour, Jesus cried with a loud voice and he said, Eli, Eli lama shvaktani. That is to say, my God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Some of them that stood there, when they have heard that, they say, this man called for Eliyahu.

And straightway, one of them ran, he took a sponge and he filled it with vinegar and he put it on a reed and he gave him to drink. The rest said, let me, let us see whether Eliyahu will come to save him. Yeshua, when he had cried again with a loud voice, he yielded up the spirit. He died. Then verse 51, it says, and behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom and the earth did quake and the rock rent. And you notice what happened? The veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

Why did it happen? The veil was always there in order to separate the people from the immediate presence of God. The veil reminded the nation that there is always a distance and you could not have an access whenever you wanted. And if you do have an access, it's only the high priest once a year, Yom Kippur, and not without blood for himself, for his family, and for the nation. God warned Aaron already a long time ago in the book of Leviticus where he said to him, you make sure, Moses, tell Aaron, his son, that they cannot barge in at any time into my presence lest I will pour out my wrath upon them.

And you remember what happened to the two sons of Aaron? God smoked them because they have violated his word. But what happened now, beloved brothers and sisters, when the fullness of time came and God sent the Messiah, Yeshua, the Lord Jesus, and he came to this world and he lived the life that pleased God the Father and he come and he went to the tree and he died for our sins, God had been satisfied. The work of redemption had been complete. No longer we need the sacrificial system anymore. No longer the blood of bulls and of goats and the blood of animals to come anymore to the presence of the Lord and even then there was distance.

When the Messiah came, he finished the work on the cross and now what he did, the veil had been rent and it rented from the top to the bottom. God had been satisfied. God now can come out to man and man can come into his immediate presence by faith and faith alone. We can come into the immediate presence of God and we have an access. We can draw near into the immediate presence of God and tell him our need and share with him our burden and enjoy his presence because of the finished work of the Lord Jesus. the Messiah. The Bible shows us this very clearly when God is writing to the Hebrew believers in Hebrews chapter 4 and notice what he's telling them in verses 14 to 16 of Hebrews chapter 4.

He's telling them this. He's telling them draw near. Notice this verse 14 seeing that we have such a great high priest that is passed into the heavens. Yeshua the Son of God let us hold fast our confession for we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities but was in all points tempted like as we are yet without sin let us therefore come boldly into the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

you see you see what we learn here something that is very precious you know many times we don't avail ourselves from the access that we have God desire to have his people coming into his presence he delighted to see us coming into his presence spending time in prayer personal prayer family prayer collective prayer prayer at work in every situation talking to him telling him our problem because we have an access we can come boldly into his presence unfortunately we don't enjoy it many times because we don't avail ourselves but the veil is open it's been rent the Messiah finished the work on the tree they have an assurance God tells us you can draw need

you can come closer don't stay behind God is saying we have access into this faith through this grace wherein we stand just simply by faith enjoy the grace and use the access to the immediate presence of God and what a blessing you know there is a difference between a brother or a sister who rise up from spending time with the Lord and coming out as it were from the presence of the Lord there is a change it has nothing to do now with salvation but change in behavior change in a way in our mannerism blessing and joy because we have been in the presence of the Lord but when a person who is a child

of God and doesn't use this access you can see the difference you can feel the difference you can observe it and you can see it something is not right this brother this sister do not enjoy the access to the immediate presence of God and we don't need to look far we gotta look within and we see it in ourselves when we are not enjoying this access that is available for us we are unhappy joyless believers not an influence upon others not an impact in the gospel not an encouragers among the brothers and sisters but when we use that access and come into the immediate presence of the Lord there is a difference you want to

be used by the Lord do I want to be used by the Lord if we do why don't we take the privilege that God is giving to us that Apostle Paul is encouraging us he says we have you remember that he doesn't say we might have sometime later on if you're going to be spiritual enough he says we have right now he said we have access simply by faith into this grace wherein we stand we stand on a basis of the grace of God behold the grace of our Lord Jesus the Messiah that though he was rich he became poor that through his poverty we might become rich the Apostle Paul said elsewhere and here

is the encouragement that he is saying to those believers I just want to read another verses in Hebrews chapter 10 and verse 19 he continues writing to those Hebrew believers and he says having therefore brethren boldness to enter into the holiness or the holiest by the blood of Yeshua we have boldness to enter into the holy of holies by the blood of Yeshua by a new and living way not by the old way not by a dying way but by a new way and a living way which he had consecrated for us through the veil that is to say his flesh and having a high priest over the house of God let us draw near

with a true heart with a full assurance of faith having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water and let us hold fast our confession the confession of our faith without wavering for he is faithful that promise see the writer by the way it is important that it mentioned in the book of Hebrews because it is the Hebrews who knew the distance and it is the Hebrews who experienced the nearness because the Hebrews were the one that the Messiah have come and have taught those things and from the historical setting of the Hebrews they knew that there was a distance under their law and now when the Messiah came

it is the Hebrews that he believers but it is important that is mentioned here in the book of Hebrews let us as it says here come with a true heart having therefore brethren boldness to come into the holy of holies by the blood of Jesus of Yeshua before they couldn't come to the holy of holies only one man once a year and not without blood of animals for his sins but now at all time access you don't have to come to the priest and say priest I want you to pray for me you are a priest you don't have to come to the rabbi or to the pastor to say pastor I want you to

pray for me while it is important to appreciate our spiritual leaders but we don't depend upon that because we all as a priesthood a holy priesthood and a royal priesthood we all can come to the presence of God at any time it is through the blood of Yeshua the Messiah brothers and sisters how encouraging it is for us to know it's not only heaven in heaven we're going to be with him at all time but it is now that we have shalom with God it is now that we have an access through the blood of the salvation now let's move on back to Romans chapter 5 and we are now in the same verse verse

2 but the second half of this verse and now Paul is saying not only that we have peace shalom in peace with God access to God but now we have hope a glorious hope you see it says here in verse 2 it said and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God you know in the world in which we live in today there is so much hopelessness everywhere you look around everywhere the world is presenting before us the only thing that is being presented before us is what you can enjoy here in this world until the time that you are going to meet your maker until the time that you have to be

visiting the graveyard that is the only thing that the world can offer to us and we are all the human rest running after it running after it all day long we are trying to be happy and hope that tomorrow is going to be better and the next day is going to be better we're going to get promotion in our work we're going to get promotion there we're to have this more and dismal and dismal but beyond this the world have no hope you remember what we read in Ephesians about the Gentile world it says in Ephesians chapter 2 it says about the world in which the world the people of the world it says you

were without God and without hope in this world but now we became believers in the Lord Jesus the Messiah we have peace with God we have access into the immediate presence of God through prayer by faith but we also have hope and you notice it says in verse 2 it says the hope of the glory of God the hope of the glory of God in other word we hope and the hope it's not like we hope that is going to happen one day but it is a living assured hope that we have a known hope that we have on the basis of the word of God a hope of the glory of God we know

on the basis of the Bible that one day God's glory is going to be manifested here in this world we know on the basis of the word of God that one day the believers the church the heavenly company is going to be in the and the nations of the world will recognize one day and we see the glory of the Lord Jesus the Messiah we have this hope a sure living hope it's not something that may happen but it is a sure hope you know the word for hope in the Hebrew is tikvah and it is the very same title that we have in the Israeli anthem in the Israel it's called the hope that

the Jewish people always had that they will be restored to the land and as a nation going to be restored to God that hope is found in the Bible you and I as believers we have this assured hope that we are going to be with the Lord Jesus the Messiah the unbelieving people do not have this they cannot even be assured of this because they do not know and maybe that's going to happen well in the scripture we are taught that we have as it says we rejoice in hope of the glory of God we have joy in our hearts knowing that one day God is going to have his way here in this world

the whole universe will recognize the Lord Jesus and the Messiah the whole universe will end up to accept him as Lord and Savior God has in this world Paul wrote to Titus I'll read this verse in Titus chapter 2 and verse 13 we have this very interesting verse it says looking for the blessed hope and the glorious appearing of our great God and our Savior Jesus the Messiah looking for the blessed hope that's what it is called the blessed hope in Titus and in Romans it says it is the hope of the glory of God one day God is going to have his rightful place here in this world and that's the joy that we

can have in our hearts today and so far he mentioned peace with God access to God glorious hope in the coming of God coming of the Lord Jesus and that is a sure thing that the believers can enjoy today while we wait for the coming of the Lord now here we are moving forward and now in verses 3 and 4 look what we learn here more about the blessings that coming to us as believers here while we are waiting for the coming of the Lord in verses 3 and 4 God is now showing to us that we can develop a godly character in our lives while we are here it says in verse 3 and

4 and not only so but we rejoice or we glory in tribulation also knowing the tribulation works patience and patience experience and experience hope those two verses together shows us that another blessing that is connected with the justification that we have received is that God wants to develop in every believer a godly character he wants you and I to be growing as believers and to develop in our life a godly character a godly character and it is so important to develop this in our lives the reason that Yeshua have left us here in this world is not to do our own thing but to do that which is pleasing to him and so he wants

to develop godly character in us and don't you sometimes ask the question oh why do I have so much problems in my my life why lord why do you allow this to me in my life lord I'm trying to please you and I'm trying to live for you but why I have so many tribulations in my life but brothers and sisters after all we learn here that tribulation teaching us lessons there is a reason why God allows some troubles in our lives I know for fact and I'm sure you feel the same like me I never come to God by prayer saying God please send me some trouble because I want to grow spiritually so

please God give me more trouble I mean I've never asked this from God and I think I'm suggesting for you don't ask this from the Lord because if you're going to ask from the Lord for tribulation he going to send some of this for you so you will learn a little bit more and you will grow a little bit more but we don't ask this from the Lord but nevertheless sometimes he sent them into our lives and you know what happened through trouble tribulation in our life develop our character when a brother or sister experience trouble in their lives is developing them and they learn more patience and when they learn more patience and through

patience they learn experience they are being experienced and through the experiences they go through they become more stable and the sure hope that they have in their life is being established more and more and more and so God developed a godly character through tribulation in our life so notice the process tribulation works patience patience works experience experience works hope those four words that we have here tribulation patience experience and by the way experience it is a proof it is a tried character when a person has gone through tribulation and they have learned some small measure in some small measure patience that means that they have been tried and their character have been tried you know

very well that when we have interruptions in our lives we get to be very edgy and very angry sometimes and our character comes out right you get upset very quick and it shows your character it shows when a test comes it shows who we are who I am who you are and so God want to mold us to make us a little bit like Yeshua so he is sending those tribulation a little bit here and a little bit there and then this trial teaching us to wait on the Lord to be more patient they that wait upon the Lord we read through the prophet Isaiah shall renew their strength and so those that have gone

through suffering the tribulation are the ones that are really developing a character that is like the Lord Jesus even if it is in a small way and that's what God is doing to us beloved brothers and sisters he developing a godly character in our lives he wants us to be like the Lord Jesus Christ the world on the other hand saying I don't need to have self judgment anything I don't need to learn any lessons I don't need to learn things I don't care about the things of the Lord but the believer learn through those experiences through tribulation he learned a little bit more about the person of the Lord Jesus the Messiah and I

think it's very precious let me read you a verse in the book of Peter 1 Peter chapter 1 and verse 7 Peter says the trial of your faith is been much more precious than of gold that perishes though you be tried with fire he might be found for the praise and honor and the glory at the appearing of our Lord Jesus the Messiah when we are going through trials it gives us more desire for the coming of the Lord and it changes us it forms us to be more like the Lord and then the way we conduct ourselves will be very much different we can be used by the Lord we can be a blessing

to others and so he also said in 1 Peter in chapter 4 he continue and he's speaking about this tribulation and he's saying to them there he says in 1 Peter chapter 4 if any man suffer as a Christian let him not be ashamed but let him glorify God on this behalf for the time is come the judgment must begin at the house of God and if it first began with us this is the believers what shall be the end of them that obey not the gospel of God you see he's saying to them if we suffer if we go through tribulation as Messiah followers as messiah as Christians he says to them he says

let him not be ashamed but let him glorify God on this behalf what a privilege sometimes when we go through tribulation and trials in our life what a privilege it is to suffer for the name of the Lord rather than for things that we have done in a way that is not pleasing to the Lord so godly character we develop godly character through tribulation we learn patience by patience experience through experience we have the hope the hope of the coming of the Lord godly character brothers and sisters this is very important as well in the life of the believers so we have covered so far four of those things let us quickly go with another

three of those things that we have here in this chapter in verse five six and seven and eight we have the fifth blessing that results from our salvation it is god's love is poured out into us and you see it says here hope maketh us not ashamed because the love of god is shed abroad in our hearts by the holy spirit which is given unto us and for when we were yet without strength in due time the messiah died for the ungodly for scarcely for righteous men one will die yet pre-adventure for good men some would even dare to die but god commend his love towards us that while we were yet sinners christ died

for us in those four verses i usually use these verses for the gospel to preach the gospel because we are saying in these verses that when we were without strength god's love was for us that when we were yet sinners god love was towards us that's a wonderful gospel message but here the thought is not so much in connection with the sinners it's in connection with the believer in text here in context here it is in connection with what is involved when we are going through sufferings patience experience hope when we are experiencing this when we are going through trials here in this world and we develop a christian or i should say a godly

character you know what happened you experience god's love is poured out from him and into us god's love he says here look he says hope make us not ashamed for the love of god shed abroad in our hearts by the spirit of god by the holy spirit of god which he had been given unto us the holy spirit of god as a divine person now is revealing to us the love of god you know i have seen so many smiles that all of a sudden god by his grace and his mercy through the spirit of god pouring into them his love for them his care for them in the midst of the tribulation that they

go through when everything seemed contrary to them god in a supernatural way by the spirit of god fill their hearts with the love of god you know when you feel like nobody loves you everything is against you all of a sudden god through the spirit of god is pouring his love deep into our hearts and we feel that love of god and we can pour out our hearts to him in praise and worship and people wonder how can you worship the Lord and adore the Lord Jesus when you are going through so many troubles in your life and the answer is as I'm going through tribulation in my life and the godly character is being

developed in my life I sense the love of God I experience the grace of God and I enjoy his love towards me when everything is contrary here in this world and I'm reminded that when I was without strength in due time the Messiah died for me and that while I was yet sinner that the love of God was shown towards me that's what I'm reminded when I'm going through tribulation that's what we are reminded we are reminded we God does not owe us anything in fact if there is anything that God should have done with us is to separate us from him and to send us into eternal separation from him but you know what

he did loved us so much and he was willing to send his son to die for us on the cross that our sins will be removed and we are reminded that why we were without strength that in due time Christ the Messiah died for us you notice you remember that when you first came to know the Lord as your Savior and you realize Lord I am guilty sinner I have no strength on my own I deserve to be punished away from you God and you had such a mercy on me and you forgave my sins and you brought me to yourself it tells us here that we were sinners means we missed the mark we

when we are going through tribulation we remember the price that Jesus the Messiah paid for us and so we have here through godly character we are reminded of the love of God that is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit the Spirit of God by the way is a divine person he's a real person the Holy Spirit of God is a divine person and he lives here he's here he's right in our life in our hearts and he is reminding us every time he's reminding us of the grace and of the love and of the care that God has for his own people who are going through tribulation through patience through endurance and

the hope that they have is being reminded by the Spirit of God bring it forth to the surface and so godly character then we have the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit of God and now here is the next one in verse 9 and 10 the sixth benefit of our justification is found in verse 9 and 10 and the sixth benefit is salvation from the future wrath that is going to come upon this world it says in verse 9 much more there is more blessing yet there is more results of the finished walk of the Messiah there is more result of our justification not only going to heaven

but look what he's saying in verse 9 much more he says being now justified by the blood we shall be saved from the wrath through him for if we were enemies when we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his son much more being reconciled or being restored we shall be saved by his life do you know brothers and sisters as one day God is going to judge this world he's going to judge this world in righteousness and not only judge the world collectively but he will judge individuals every unsaved person is going to be judged and that's a sure thing God it says is the wrath to come it says

here in verse 9 being saved from the wrath the wrath that is going to come and it is being saved means being delivered from the judgment that is going to come and what a judgment is that going to be you know the Bible teaches us of many many judgments there is the great white throne judgment at the end of the millennial age that's the final judgment there is judgment of the Gentiles at the end of the tribulation period before the millennial the messianic age there are judgments that are going to come upon this world we have a judgment of the tribulation itself that's going to come upon the world that rejected the Lord Jesus the

Messiah judgments of the judgment that are going to come those of us that have trusted in the Lord Jesus the Messiah it says here much more being justified by the blood of Yeshua the Messiah we shall be saved notice it's now future it's not what we have it's not what we have received already in the past shalom with God when we first became believers is not what we have right now access any time to the presence of the Lord but we shall that has to do with the future there is a wrath that is coming upon this world years ago I heard the gospel message being preached and the brother took the example of hurricane

David that happened that fell upon Jamaica when hurricane David came upon Jamaica and it was on its way to Jamaica everybody was embracing for the hurricane to come they boxed everything all the windows they blocked them with plywood they put cement wherever they needed to put to cover to brace themselves they went to the grocery store and everybody bought food because they knew that something was going to happen they all stayed inside the house they even played the sacred music and when hurricane David came there was cracked cement bent metal steel hurricane David went through Jamaica and left so much problems devastation all over I remember when I was also in one of the island

and they were talking about the tsunami that was going to come and you remember the tsunami that a few years ago that I think it was a quarter of a million people died they didn't expect the tsunami to come and when God is going to come in judgment we realize that God is a holy God and he judged sin and you and I deserve the same judgment that all men deserve but by the grace of God we will escape we have been saved from the wrath and it is through the Lord Jesus the Messiah the wrath of God that will fall upon the face of this world I'm not going to read it but if

you will turn to the prophet Sephaniah and don't do it right now and you read in chapter 1 of the wrath that will fall upon this world with the judgment of what the Lord Jesus have done you and I know right now we don't have to wait of course to know it later on in the future but we are already now know that in the future we will be saved we shall be saved from this wrath through the Lord Jesus Yeshua the Messiah for since when we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of the Messiah of his son much more being reconciled or being restored we shall be saved by his

life you see he is alive now he died he rose and he is alive now he is at the right hand of the father on high there is an assurance that the wrath that we deserve will pass over us because of the finished work of our Lord Jesus the Messiah and finally in closing of these verses the last verse that we read today is verse 11 and the last thought that we have here reconciliation with God that word it says here in verse 11 and not only so notice he's building up not only and more and much more and much more and more in other words he's building up by saying look at the benefits

that come with our salvation not only so what not only so not only peace with God not only access to God not only glorious hope not only godly character not only the love of God is shed abroad in our heart not only salvation from the future wrath even more he says in verse 11 we have been brought into a relationship with God we have been reconciled it says in verse 11 and not only so he's saying but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus the Messiah by whom we have now right now we receive the atonement or properly speaking is the word reconciliation the restoration the one that had been restored to be

in favor with God on top of all what we have already received he says right now reconciliation means to be brought back into a fellowship with God reconciliation means that the Messiah became the peacemaker the one who bridged between us and God and we brought back now to have fellowship with God and we can enjoy him today beloved brothers and sisters we can enjoy the fellowship that God delighted to have with us we have been brought back into fellowship with God and the encouragement that we get from this don't wait for heaven to enjoy God don't wait don't say I don't care about what's going to happen there but realize that it's going to be

a blessed time in glory in heaven but enjoy what God had given us today here and now he gave us this sevenfold blessings that resulted from our justification through our Lord Jesus the Messiah may the Lord encourage us with this and help us to follow him day after day depending upon him seeking grace more help so we can honor him and please him and serve him here in this world
