Well, we want to say shalom to everyone. Welcome to the Bible Classes of the Holy Scriptures in Israel, where we study the Word of God from a Hebrew messianic point of view, messianic perspective, looking at the Scripture verse by verse, chapter by chapter, by book and we are very thankful to be able to to do this still here in this world we are so blessed and so privileged to open the Word of God hopefully you have the Scriptures the Word of God in your hands if you don't mind to open it to the book of Romans we are in the book of Romans we are in the second chapter of the book of Romans and if you will please turn to the book of Romans chapter 2 we will pray and we will resume our reading from verse.

6 of Romans chapter 2. Our God and our Father, we would ask that you will bless the meeting today. Thank you for your word. Thank you for Yeshua, Jesus, our Lord and our Messiah. Bless everyone that is learning from the word of God with us. We commit all of us to your loving care, for we ask it in Yeshua, in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. 2, please. And we are now in Romans chapter 2. We are looking at this Scripture. We read this portion from verse 6. I will read from verse 6 to verse 16. And so we are reading. Verse 6, Paul is speaking about God who is holy and righteous. And he continued to say to the Romans believers, concerning God.

In verse 6 we read, Who will render to every man according to his deeds? To them who by patience, continuous, in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality eternal life. But to them that are contentious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish upon every soul of man that doeth evil, to the Jew of the Jew first and also of the Gentile. But glory, honor and peace to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first and also to the Gentile. For there is no respect of persons with God. For as many as have sinned without the law shall also perish without the law.

And as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law. For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves, which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts they mean while accusing, or else excusing one another. In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, by Yeshua HaMashiach, according to my gospel.

And I will stop here in this portion of Scripture for the reading for us for today. And so here we are, beloved brothers and sisters, we continue today. With verse 6 to 16 of Romans chapter 2. You and I already by now are aware of the fact that in the whole first chapter of the book of Romans the apostle Shaul Paul wrote to the Roman believers in the local assembly at Rome even though he was not there. Then in verses 8 to 17 of chapter 1 he showed that he cared for the Romans because he did say in chapter 1 that he is a ditto to the Greeks and to the barbarians, to the wise and to the unwise.

He said that he is ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome. And he also said that he is not ashamed of the gospel of the Messiah for it is the power of God. And to salvation to everyone that believes. So Paul shows his care for the believers at Rome in chapter 1 verses 1 to 17. From verse 18 of chapter 1 all the way to verse 20 of chapter 3, Paul is explaining to the believers at Rome they are saved, they are born of the Spirit, they are part of the local assembly, in the city of Rome. They became redeemed when they have trusted the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, as their Lord and Savior.

But they needed to learn doctrine, to learn truth and many principles that we all have to learn as we grow up in our walk with the Lord. We don't learn everything at once. It takes some time to learn. And we need to, a little here, a little there. As we walk with the Lord Yeshua, Jesus the Messiah, we grow to appreciate who he is, what he has done, why has he come down to this world, why God is such a good God, he loves the world, but God also is a holy God and a righteous God who has to judge sin. So from Romans 1, 18 to Romans 3, 20, the Apostle Paul explains He is expounding to the believers at Rome of the fact that all of us have sinned.

The pagan world have sinned, the moral, self-righteous men have sinned, and the religious men have sinned. When I say men, it is men and women, people. The pagan world is guilty before God. Is guilty before God and the religious even the religious Jewish people that he specifically will deal with them they are guilty before God by nature all have sinned and come short of the glory of God ultimately in chapter 3 verses 9 to 20 he will prove the universal guilt all have sinned you know sometimes in our communication with people We need to emphasize this again and again and again, beloved brothers and sisters and dear friends, that there is no solution to the sin nature.

There is no human solution to the sin nature that you and I possess. We can't fix it. We can't improve it. We can't correct it. We cannot hide from the living God. To a point that we admit, "God, be merciful to me, a sinner." That's what Paul, Shaul, is seeking to explain to the Roman believers who have already trusted in Yeshua the Messiah, in the Lord Jesus, but they needed to understand, to grow up in appreciation. You and I have many, many, many questions in our lives as believers. 10 years and 20 years and 30 years and 40 years and 50 years in our walk with the Lord, there are many, many questions that we have and they all found in the Word of God.

And with the help of Ruach HaKodesh, Ruach HaElohim, the Holy Spirit of God, God is helping us to understand because the natural man cannot grasp this. Only the one who is spiritual minded, who is born of the Spirit, And led by the Spirit is able to understand the plan of God. And that's why we are studying together. And as we are studying together, we learn of the sin question in chapter 1 to chapter 3. The salvation that had been provided by God in chapter 3 to chapter 5. The sanctification of believers who have accepted the Lord in chapter 6, 7 and 8. 9 10 and 11 and the service that all believers are called to serve God in chapter 12 13 14 15 and 16 of the book of Romans but we are here right in Romans chapter 2 and in Romans chapter 2 after the apostle Paul presented before the the Roman believers the fact that the the nations are guilty before God this is chapter 1 verses 18 to 32 in this section that you and I are studying together in Romans chapter 2 verses 1 to 16 he's pointing to the person and to the individuals who might say I'm not like them I'm not worshiping idols I've not committed this big sin that big sin I'm pretty decent family I have a good marriage I have a good education I have a good Job I am prosperous here in this world I'm very eloquent I'm okay you see but you see it is to them to these that you and I may be very much the same like them think that we may be better than others.

And then in these verses, from verses 1 to 16 of Romans chapter 2, Shaul is dealing with those who are cultured, educated, brilliant, having things intact in their life, but they don't realize that one day they will have to stand before the living God. While they compare themselves to others, They need to stop it. We all need to stop it. But to realize, for we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. Now, believers will appear before the judgment seat of Christ because they will be evaluated as how they live their life as believers. Unbelievers will appear at the great white throne judgment, Revelation 20, there because they refuse the Messiah.

Holy and a righteous God. We have covered the first five verses of this portion of Romans chapter 2. And in the first five verses, the Apostle Paul showed to the Roman believers who needed to have, we might say, theological instruction, like we all need, to show to them that God's judgment is based upon truth. Always truth. And every man a liar. The Hebrew word emet, truth. Yeshua said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one come to the Father but by me. God is the God of truth. We are not, although we are called to be truthful, but we always fail in truth.

And that's why in these verses 2, 3, 4, and 5, judgment is based upon truth that God will judge upon truth and we read these verses you remember I just want to read them to you so we can move along verse 1 of chapter 2 therefore thou are inexcusable all men whosoever thou art the Judges for when thou Judges another thou condemn thyself for that that for. That Judges doest the same thing. Verse 2, he continues, he says, but we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. And thinkest thou this, O man, that Judges them which do such things and doest the same, that thou should escape the judgment of God?

Verse 4, do you despise the riches and the goodness and the forbearance and the long suffering not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance verse 5 but after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasure up for thyself wrath against the day of wrath and Revelation of the righteous judgment of God you see he's speaking specifically that in notice he used the word all men twice here Notice when he's speaking specifically to an individual, he's really, we might say, digging deep, and he's speaking to one in his own or her own heart, and he says, look, realize this before God, that you, even though you might not.

Be like them with the list that we have had in chapter one this long list you remember dear brothers and sisters that we found in chapter one that list of the doings of the activities of the pagan world the fornication wickedness covetousness maliciousness this long list that we have covered already you might not do that but you who you are oh man that you Judges another don't you realize that you might you may have had your life pretty moral and decent, but in your heart, you are not much different before God. God knows the heart. He searched the heart. He knows the hearts of each and every one of us.

Every person that was born into this world, in fact, David says, in sin did my mother conceive me. When we are born into this world, we have inherited a sin nature. Our heart is deceitful. And so he's explaining to the Romans that God will judge and is judging on a basis of truth. Then verses 6 to 10 that we are covering right now, God's judgment is based on the action and the manner whereby people live. How do people live their lives? And so you notice that we read in verse 6, God will render who will render to every man according to his deeds you see his action or her action to them notice that verse 7 to them that by patient a continuance in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality eternal life but unto them that are contentions do not obey the truth but obey unrighteousness he's saying there will be indignation and wrath so in verses 6 and 7 we learn that God is going to evaluate the life of a person on the basis of his activity now again i would like to emphasize beloved brothers and sisters the activity of a person the doing of someone is not.

Doing it in order to achieve salvation but works come as a result of one's salvation which he or her possess by faith alone in the person of the Lord Yeshua Jesus the Messiah and therefore when God evaluated the life of the unbeliever first of all or even the life of the believer how does a person live accordingly. The unbeliever, of course, his or her sins haven't been washed by the blood of the Lamb. And God will reveal the works, the deeds of the unbelievers, although they may have been in general pretty moral, but in God who knows their heart, know very well their heart, he will judge them.

And if they are not believers and their sins are not forgiven through the person of the Lord Jesus, they will be eternally lost. Even for the believers. You remember we read in 1 Corinthians 3 and 2 Corinthians 5 that we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, of the Mashiach, that everyone's works will be manifested, how we live our life, and God will also evaluate our action here in this world. So God is not only that he is judging on a basis of truth, verses 1 to 5, but his judgment is based upon the action of mankind. And so, again, to remind you, Paul always distinguished between one who is a believer whose sins are forgiven, and on the basis of his faith in the Lord Yeshua, Jesus the Messiah, he is eternally saved.

To live a godly life here on earth, to do works that are pleasing to the Lord. And whatever is not pleasing to the Lord, these works will be burnt at the judgment seat of Christ, but he himself or she herself will be eternally with the Lord. But the unbelievers, they will be also judged on a basis of truth and also on the basis of their works. As we read in Revelation chapter 20, the great white throne judgment. The unbelievers, God will reveal their works and they will sadly, because they are not forgiven, the blood of Christ has not been, they did not accept the work of the Lord, they will be ushered into eternal separation from God, sadly.

But God Judges on a basis of truth and on a basis of action. Chapter 6 in John chapter 6 we read in verse 28 and verse 29 then said they unto him what shall we do that we might work the works of God and you notice when it's come to salvation the Lord said to them Jesus Yeshua answered and he said unto them this is the work of God that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. You see here in John 6 and verse 28 and 29, the people of Israel in those days who communicated with Yeshua in John chapter 6, they wanted to know what should we do, you know, what should we do that we might work the works of God?

So he says, first of all, here's the works of God. Of all have to believe on the person whom God had sent namely to believe in the Lord Jesus Yeshua HaMashiach but here beloved brothers and sisters we learn that God is judging the manner whereby the people of this world will behave and he always Judges on a basis of truth someone of course has to come to his or her wits end where they say I am God be merciful to me, a sinner. But Paul in Romans chapter 2 and verses 1 to 16 shows that the unregenerated world, those who refuse to accept God and those who think that they are pretty moral and cultured and are pretty civilized and good-mannered person, they will have to stand before God and He will reveal.

To them how they live but also their own hearts he will show them that although they were living pretty decent yet in reality they still fail before God because there is no one righteous person upon the face of this earth that that sinneth not and do it righteousness is not one except the one that came from heaven the Messiah Yeshua Jesus himself the sinless one who came down from heaven and so you will notice that in fact I want to read that verse because we read verses 6 and 7 I wanted to read a verse in Isaiah in chapter 64 it's very interesting because Isaiah 64 is a portion that deals with the future restoration and the hope of the people.

Of Israel doing the tribulation and ultimately at the end where the Messiah will restore them and they will come to a point that they will have to realize that even though they sought to do to live righteously on the basis of the law and they didn't come up to that point to confess that they are sinners that they failed to keep the law they will cry to the Lord notice in verse one he says all that thou would rent the heavens, that thou would come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence. They wanted God, they wanted the Mashiach to come down, to rent the heaven, and come down, and that the presence of the Lord will be in their midst.

And then they will confess, and they will say, listen, it says, verse 5 and 6, And they said this very interesting remark in verse 6 because he says. But all, he says, but we all as an unclean thing and all of our righteousnesses are as filthy rags. And we all do fade as a leaf and our iniquities like the wind that takes us away. You see, they will come to a point that they will realize that even their righteousnesses are as filthy rags before a holy and a righteous God. Brothers and sisters God is judging on the basis of truth and God is judging on the basis of the the the deeds and that is exactly what Paul is seeking to do to drive the one that is well mannered civilized cultured the one that is moral to see that within his heart they still sin And that he should not look on others and say, they are wrong.

And I have an excuse. That's why he began chapter 2 by saying in verse 1, Therefore thou art inexcusable, without excuse, O men, whosoever are you the Judges. For in thou Judges another, this is verse 1, thou condemn yourself, for thou the Judges do the same. And so now that he mentioned this in verses 6 and 7 of this second chapter of Romans, that God will render to every man according to his deeds. And to them who by patient and continuous in well-doing, they seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life. In other words, they are those that will seek the mind of the Lord, and if they will seek to do the right thing, they will turn ultimately by faith, accept the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, and ultimately they will enjoy the blessing of eternal life because salvation and eternal life comes by faith.

But their works and their desire will show the evidence that they want the mind of God. Christ, the Messiah's provision. It's not that their own works will save them, but their will to do the right thing and to turn to God will lead them ultimately to accept the Messiah and enjoy the promise of eternal life. But on the other hand, listen, in verse 8 we read, not turn to the Lord he says he says Paul says in verse 8 but unto them that are contentions and do not obey the truth but obey unrighteousnesses there will be indignation and ultimate wrath God will judge sin he Judges sin on the basis of truth and he Judges on the basis of the action that is evident.

And in the context of verses 6 to 10, God's judgment is according to the deeds of mankind. God's judgment is based upon their action. And always bear in mind, brothers and sisters, that we will not be confused that salvation is only on a basis of trust and faith in the Messiah. In Christ, in Yeshua. It's not by works of righteousness which we have done, Paul said to Titus, but according to his mercy he had saved us. To the Ephesians, Paul said to them in Ephesians chapter 2, by grace are ye saved. You remember this famous verse? By grace are ye saved through faith. Ephesians chapter 2 and verse 8. And he continued to tell them, for by grace are you saved through faith, and that is not of yourself, it is a gift of God, and not of works, lest any man should boast.

So when we are reading in Romans 1 and verses 7 and 8 about the deeds and the works and action, Paul does not mean that one is saved on the basis of works, and He will reveal to everyone their action. And if a person confess that he or she are sinners, they will turn to the Lord and accept God's provision, the Mashiach, the Messiah, Yeshua, Jesus, they will accept Him and they will be forgiven and they will have eternal life. But those who refuse to accept God's provision and they assume that they are better than the Gentile nations. Who are pagan, and they say, oh, I'm not like them, and I'm okay, and therefore I'm going to be accepted by God, Paul is saying, listen, God is going to evaluate your life, and He will show you exactly that you are not better than the other, and that you have sinned just like the other.

And you notice now he's going to go into the inside, to the heart, to show that God does know the heart of mankind, of people. Notice he continues, very interesting, because in verses 9 and 10, Paul is saying, in the second chapter of Romans, he says, in verse 9 and 10, he's showing that he will bring judgment upon all. Of sin in verse 9 he says tribulation and anguish upon every soul of men every soul of every person that doeth evil in other word God will God will bring about tribulation and also ultimately anguish and to the unbelievers eternal loss eternal separation from him to every person that doeth evil and then he adds something that is very interesting he says of the Jews first and also of the Gentiles it's very interesting because he's Paul is saying the Jewish people who refuse God those who refuse and those who rejected the offer of God and the ways of God and do not turn to God they will be the first one that will receive tribulation and anguish it will come upon all unbelievers but to the Jews it will be upon them first very interesting remark here he continued in verse 10 he says but on the other hand glory and honor and peace and shalom to every man that worketh good and again he adds.

To the Jew first and then also to the Gentile to the Greek now why does he zero in on the Jewish people first you know it's very interesting that God in this world beloved brothers and sisters God has set an order in this creation in this world he has chosen a man by the name of avram Abraham, he built a nation called Yisrael. Remember Abraham, Yitzhak, Yaakov, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jacob had 12 sons. These 12 sons, one of them is the name of Yehuda, Judah. That's where we get the word Yehudi, Jewish. And through this nation, God is going to bless this world. And that is a promise.

That God have made it's a covenant that God have made with Abraham and his descendants and it is the simply it is the program of God upon the face of this earth you remember that we read already in chapter 1 and verse 16 where Paul said for i am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ the gospel of the Messiah that believeth and then he added there as well to the Jew first and also unto the Greek. And now in chapter 2 and verses 9 and 10 when it's come to punishment and anguish and tribulation it is always to the Jew first. When it's come to glory and honor and peace and shalom it is always to the Jew first.

Now you and I when you look at the Jewish history. The history of our people, one might say, well, God, why did you make it this way? The Jewish people are not better. The Jewish people are not more obedient than other nations. The Jewish people are not greater than others. Because all have sinned. In fact, the history of our people, the Jewish people, is described throughout the whole Word of God. Just read the Bible. It's like a showing before the world. The condition and the behavior of the people of Israel sometime in a right way sometime in a wrong way but mostly in disobedience to the Lord in violation of the word of God in turning away from God and how many times he's calling his people Israel to turn back to him Shuvu he's asking God to turn God asking his people to turn to him but it is a principle that is taught in the word God it is that the Jewish people the Jew first always when he's come to the discipline of God he will always discipline his own people the Jewish people first just look at the history of the Jewish people just look at the history from the days of Avraham up till today and there is yet the tribulation days that are coming.

Disciplinary action of God against his people whom he has chosen. But at the same time, the glory, as it says here in verse 10, honor and shalom, peace, it is also to all men that do us good, but it will always be. This is a principle that is taught in the word of God to the Jew first, to the Jewish people first. And no wonder, beloved brothers and sisters, how Satan the one who opposed God and God's people here on earth always always is seeking to do away with the Jewish people and why because through the Jewish people the Mashiach has to come you remember what the Lord himself said to the samaritan woman the.

Woman from Shomron, from Samaria, says salvation is of the Jews. In other words, God made it so that through the nation of Israel, not the nation itself, but through the nation of Israel, the Mashiach will come to this world. And when the Messiah will come to this world, salvation will be provided to the world. And when the Messiah will come at his second coming to restore Israel, blessing will flow to the whole world. And it is the principle here in this world that God is always here in this world under the sun, is dealing with the world according to his plan in relationship to the Jewish people, to the nation of Israel.

Turn with me to the book of Deuteronomy. Chapter 7, verses 6 and 7. There we read, That is the plan and the purposes of God. Flow to this world. And if they will be disobedient to him, he will judge his own people first. Judgment must begin at the house of God. Turn to Deuteronomy chapter 14, and there we read, listen, beloved brothers and sisters, verses 1 and verse 2, we read, for the dead for thou art a holy people unto the Lord God and the Lord God has chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto him unto himself above all the nation that are upon the earth that is the design that God have made again beloved brothers and sisters it is not because the Jewish people are better this is the divine design and let me remind you that you and I were part of the church of the.

We have been chosen in Christ, in the Mashiach, before the foundation of the world, and it is not because we are better than other nations, but it is entirely the design of God, the favor of God. Notice if you turn a little bit further in Deuteronomy chapter 32 and verses 8 and 9, there we read, beloved brothers and sisters, in verses 8 and 9, divided the nations their inheritance when he separated the sons of Adam he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel verse 9 for the Lord's portion is his people Jacob is the lot of his inheritance this is the divine design beloved brothers and sisters said here under the sun here in this world.

That's why it is important to recognize this. That's why Paul could say to the Jew first, not because the Jewish person is better, not because the Jewish person is superior, but simply because by divine design the Lord has said things in order here in this world. 3 and verse 1 and 2. Hear the word of the Lord. Hear the word that the Lord has spoken against you, O children of Israel, God says through Amos, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, he says in verse 1 of Amos chapter 3. Only you have I chosen of all the families of the earth. Therefore, I will punish you for all your iniquities.

Can two walk together except they be agreed? God is saying to Israel through the prophet Amos. In other words, what Paul is really saying, beloved brothers and sisters, as he is presenting before the Roman believers the fact that God will judge on a basis of truth. Judge on a basis on a basis of action everyone here in this world the unbelievers who reject the way of salvation through the person of our Lord Jesus the Messiah and also even the believers who are saved who are going to be with the Lord in heaven he will judge our works and whatever was done the flesh against God he will burn and only that which is done for Christ he will will use and bring blessing but Paul is very interestingly here using that word to the Jew first and also unto the Gentile and again I'm emphasizing it's not an issue of superiority it is an issue of the fact that God is.

The one that is sovereign he chooses not us it is his plan not yours and not mine and that's why you and i can never say to others you know i'm saved and i'm part of the church and the assembly because i'm better than somebody else God chose me because i'm somehow superior than somebody else all of us have sinned and come short of the glory of God and we enter in of the grace of God alone who have chosen us in Christ before the foundation of the world just one more verse in Romans a little bit it's in the same book in chapter 11 and I want you just to see that in light of these two verses of Romans chapter 2 and verses 9 and 10 just listen to these verses I think they are very important to read them because it has to do with the future.

God is going to judge everyone that does evil, the Jew first, now and at all times. God will bless everyone that is doing good and seeking his mind and seeking to please him. He will bless them, will give them glory and honor and shalom and peace. But both of them is to the Jew first. Why? Because God still has a plan to use the Jewish people for the future blessing of the world. As he has used the nation of Israel in past history to give us the complete canon of Scripture, the prophet, the Mashiach himself came to this world through the nation of Israel. Look what Paul says in Romans 11.

I'm just reading that verse and we'll continue on. It says in Romans 11 and verse 11, it says. God forbid. But rather through their fall salvation is coming to the Gentiles. Now this is fascinating. Israel stumbled and did not accept the Messiah. Salvation came through the fall of Israel to the nation of the world in order that the nation of the world to the Gentile believers will provoke the Jews to jealousy. Now in verse 15 he says another interesting verse. Of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be but life from the dead? Imagine what will happen in a world that is in such a mess when God will receive back his people Israel.

When the Messiah Yeshua will come and Israel will recognize they shall look upon him whom they have pierced and mourned and accept him. What a blessing that will bring to the world. That's why we are called to pray for the people of Israel, to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, to pray for the Jewish people. This world will never cease. Shalom until Israel the nation will be restored to the Lord and the church will not bring to this world the peace we are called to bring Jewish and gentles people out of this world the church is a heavenly company we are going we are called to preach the gospel and bring bring Jews and gentles to know the Lord Jesus the Messiah today of here before the tribulation period we are not called to fix this world the church is a heavenly company but Israel as a nation will be one day restored and that's why it is the Jew first because not because it is the Jewish people are better because it is in the program of God in the plan.

Of God in fact it is the will of God and when one seeks to change the will of God he or she will find out that God's will will be accomplished one way or another because God is sovereign and he will accomplish his own will at all times and so now as we are moving along here to the last verses here beloved brothers and sisters just wanted to touch them in verses 11 to 16 of this second chapter you notice that this is the third point verses 11 to 16 let me touch this in the next five ten minutes in Roman chapter 2 verses 11 to 16 Paul is mentioning the third thing that God's judgment is based on the light on a measure according to the light that one has we don't all have the same measure.

Of light what does that mean we don't know we are not in the same we might say we are not in the same stage in our life every person have some have more truth than others some know more than others so God is not only going to judge the world on a basis of of truth and on a basis of action but also on the basis of light the more light you have the more responsible you are the more knowledge you have the more knowledge people have the more knowledge the more responsible they are to adhere to the knowledge that they have and so we do read notice that in verses 11 to 16 he says for there is no respect of persons with God for as many have sinned without law they shall perish without law and as many as have sinned in the law they shall be.

By the law. For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. For when the Gentiles which have not the law do by nature the things that contain in the law, these having not the law are law unto themselves, which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness their thoughts to the meanwhile accusing or else excusing one another. In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, by Yeshua HaMashiach, according to my Gospel. You see, beloved brothers and sisters, this is very interesting because the more light one has, the more responsible he or she are.

And this is exactly what Paul is explaining here in verse 11. There's no respect of person before God. You see, it's not only taught here in the book of Romans, but Paul in actuality is gleaning, or we might say taking from what he knows, and from the time when God gave the law to the people of Israel, in Deuteronomy chapter 10, we do read in verse 17, judgment of the fatherless and the widows and they and he in lovers the stranger in giving him food and raiment and notice the previous verses he said for the Lord your God is a God of gods and Lord of lords a great God a mighty and terrible which regardeth not a person nor taketh reward you know sometimes we we regard.

Person, a person that we might admire, and we will regard him or her, and we will judge because we like somebody more, because we prefer somebody more, and it's just not the fair judgment the way God Judges. And so he does not regard a person. He's a fair God. He's a just God. And we know that God is a just God by virtue of the fact that he was willing to send Messiah, his own son, to become a man and to die on the tree for the sin of this world. There's no greater justice than we see here on the cross. God is love, but he's also holy.

He's a just God because he wanted to forgive sin and to bring people like you and I to himself. Someone had to be punished by that. Does not have any respect of persons in verse 12 it says everyone will be judged according to the light that he or she has for as many as have sinned without the law without law shall also be perished without law and as many as have seen in the law they should be judged by the law so in the context here of course the law was given to the people of Israel The people of Israel, the law, they will be judged on a basis of the law that they fail when they fail to obey that.

And the nations of the world who did not receive the law of God, they will be judged without the law of God. It is a law of nature. They are accountable to a living God. They have conscience within, creation without. God will judge on the basis of the measure of light and the measure of knowledge that every person. Person has. That's why he's a fair and a just God. It says in verse 13 that God's law demands perfection, right? Verse 13 says, "For when the Gentiles which have not the law do by nature the things contained in the law, these having not the law are a law unto themselves." Can you imagine Gentiles in a world that sought to live morally?

Even though they didn't see, they didn't read the Torah, the law that God had given to Israel, and yet in their life they sought the mind of the Lord, the mind of God. They will be evaluated on a basis of how they lived, and we learn very well here that they, what they have done in obeying and seeking to have the mind of the Lord, not having the Lord, these becoming a law unto themselves. And God will bless them. He continued in verse 14 and 15. These two verses really that Paul provided further explaining verse 12. In verses 14 and 15, when the Gentiles, which have not the law do by nature the things contained in the law, Verse 15.

Notice the word hearts and conscience here. Chapter 1 concerning the conscience that all have here in this world. And the conscience is that which the buzzer which shows us when we go wrong. And when the Gentiles, who did not receive the law, Torah Moshe, the law from Mount Sinai, and they sought the mind of the living God, the creator of the universe, Their hearts in their obedience and willingness to do the will of God, the will of the Creator, their works show that this law of God is written in their hearts and their conscience. They bore witness to the fact that they sought the will of God.

And so, beloved brothers and sisters, at the end here, In other words, a day is coming. God is going to judge the secrets of all men. And he will judge us not by Jesus Christ, by Yeshua, Jesus the Messiah himself. In Hebrews chapter 4 and verse 12 we read, The Word of God discerns. Everything about you and me, he knows our hearts. The Word of God is the one that is able to divide asunder the soul and the spirit and is of the joint and marrow. He is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And beloved brothers and sisters, this thing we must learn.

Every person must come to a point that he or she learning from the Word of God, learning in their conscience that we all have seen does not matter it does not matter what kind of life we have lived perhaps grow up in a moral family we have a decent a Job we have a good occupation our life is pretty fine we haven't committed murder we haven't done all the lists that we have here in Romans chapter 1 but notice what the Bible say about the heart of all men. That God saw the wickedness of man, that it was great in the earth and that, listen to this, Genesis 6 and verse 5, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart is only evil, continually.

In Hebrew, kol hayom, all the day long. Of the human heart, unless any person who might be, as we have named it here in this portion, a person that might say, I am a well-mannered person, I am a civilized person, I am a cultured person, I live pretty more life, I am not like them. Realize that when we stand before God, God will have to judge the secrets of man's heart by Yeshua HaMashiach, by the Lord Jesus the Messiah, according to my gospel, the apostle Paul is saying to the Roman believers. And praise God that we, even if we come, some come from this kind of lifestyle, they're not pagan, they don't live in a bush, they don't worship idols.

They don't live immoral life. They seem to live a clean life. But they still need to turn to the Lord. To come to a point that they say, God, be merciful to me, a sinner. So thank God that He provided for us a way of salvation. He forgave sins. How? Someone had to die. Someone had to be punished for my sins and for yours. And you know who was that person? His name is Yeshua. His name is Jesus, the Messiah of Israel and the Savior of this world. May the Lord open our eyes and our hearts to see it, to believe it, to accept it based on the written word of God.
