Well, we want to say shalom and welcome to everyone. God bless you. Welcome to the Bible classes of the Holy Scriptures and Israel, where we study together the Word of God, one book at a time, one chapter at a time, one verse at a time. And with the help of the Lord, we seek to find, to grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord Yeshua, Jesus the Messiah, and to find the mind of the Lord as we search together the Word of God. So let's pray together, and then we are going to read from Romans chapter 10, verse 14 to the end of the chapter.

Hopefully every one of you have a Bible in their hands. I would like you to turn to the book of Romans, to chapter 10, and then we will study together. So, Abba, Father, thank you for your word. Bless your word to us. We pray, help us as we seek to find your mind and guide us by Ruach ha'Elohim, Ruach ha'Kodesh. We pray in the precious name of our Lord Yeshua, Jesus, our Messiah. Amen. Amen. So, I'm reading, beloved brothers and sisters and dear friends, from Romans chapter 10. And I will begin with verse 14, and I'm reading. Verse 14, How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?

And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? How shall they preach except they be sent? As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them which preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things. But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah saith, Lord, God, who has believed our report? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. But I say, have they not heard? Yes, verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the end of the world. But I say, did not Israel know?

First, Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are not people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you. But Isaiah is very bold and saith, I was bound, or I was found, of them that sought me not. I was made manifest unto them that ask not after me, but to Israel, he saith, all day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people. And I will stop here with the reading, beloved brothers and sisters and dear friends, We are continuing on with our study of the book of Romans, and as a refreshing reminder to us all, the book of Romans divides itself into these five sections, sin, salvation, and then sanctification, sovereignty, and service.

And in these five sections, the five S's that begin in every section, help us to understand that all have sinned and that God provided salvation and that God desired that his people will live a sanctified life and that God had his sovereign dealing with Israel during this present day and that ultimately he will restore them. But also, beloved brothers and sisters, the service that God's people are called to serve Him in this present day in which we live in today. Well, we are in this section of Romans 9, 10, and 11. Romans 9, 10, and 11 deal with God's sovereignty in relationship to His people Israel. Romans 9 we have covered already.

And Romans 9 spoke about Israel's past privileges. And we are now in the middle of Romans chapter 10, and Romans chapter 10 presents before us Israel's present problem. And then we will continue to Romans chapter 11, and in Romans chapter 11, he will continue, this is the apostle Shaul Paul to speak about Israel's future amazing a future of restoration and how wonderful to anticipate Israel's final restoration what a prospect is yet awaiting for the nation of Israel and so beloved brothers and sisters Roman chapter 10 presents before us the problem that Israel has in this present day of the church age the problem that Israel has is that Israel did not as a nation that is did not recognize the righteousness of God you remember we began in chapter 10 and verse 1 already where we read brethren my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel that they might be saved verse 2 for I bear them record that they have a zeal of God but not according to knowledge for they being ignorant of God's righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness they have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God notice that the righteousness of God the righteousness of God means that God will attribute.

Righteousness declare just the believer in the Lord Yeshua Jesus the Messiah so they were going about to establish their own righteousness and they did not submit themselves unto the righteousness that God provides and that's why in verse 4 of Romans chapter 10 he said for Christ for Mashiach the Messiah is the end is the telos is the goal of the law for righteousness to everyone that believe whether you are Jewish or whether you are Gentile one must believe believe on the Lord Jesus the Messiah and you shall be saved for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth on him shall not perish but have everlasting life and then beloved brothers and sisters this is the problem that Israel and our people still have today as a nation Although the gospel was given and shared with the world, sent by God through the Jewish people.

After all, the Bible that we have in our hands, the word of God had been given to the world by early Jewish believers that came to know the Lord Yeshua, the Messiah, and given us what we have, what we call today the New Covenant, the Brit HaChadasha, the New Testament. And our prayer and our heart's desire is with the Apostle Paul who says, My heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel that they might be saved. So now we have covered the first 13 verses. And if you remember, beloved brothers and sisters, Israel simply as a nation did not receive that which God has already proclaimed through the prophets of Israel.

The promises that the Mashiach will come the Messiah will come and how he will come he will be born to the virgin Miriam he will be born in the city of Bethlehem he will live among his own people he will die a substitutionally a substitutionary death he will be buried and he will rise again this was already predicted by the prophets of Israel in days of old and yet when the Messiah Yeshua came sometime 2000 years the spiritual leaders of Israel did not acknowledge Yeshua Jesus as indeed the promised Messiah of Israel and by doing so Israel forfeited postponed the national regeneration to a future day and God have introduced what is known to us in this present day, the church age, the assembly age, in which Jew and Gentiles are united together in the body of Christ, in the body of Messiah, and a people that are called to be a heavenly people, a people that are the bride of Christ, the bride of the Messiah, the heavenly.

A bride of Christ so Paul is now in his burden for his earthly people Israel sharing with the Romans brothers and sisters from among the Gentile nations and he want them to understand why is it that Israel as a nation did not accept the Messiah at his first coming and that's why Romans 10 is an essential chapter that is placed here in the book of Romans so now in the first 13 verses the apostle Paul have already presented beloved brothers and sisters that the fact that who notice verse 13 that we have read whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved the gospel is gone to all the nations of the world and whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord he shall be saved but now from verse 14 where we are now all the way beloved brothers and sisters verse 14 all the way to the end of the chapter Paul provides for us he's providing for the Romans believers the remedy for Israel's rejection of Yeshua the Messiah at his first.

Coming what is the remedy how can what will be the answer in order for Israel as a nation to come to faith in the Lord Yeshua the Messiah but not only Israel but all mankind all humanity what is the remedy for our sin? Because we all have sinned. We all came short of the glory of God. What is the answer? So notice how beautiful. That's why it's so important to read the word of God. And so in verses 14 onward, we have the apostle seek to explain to the Romans the importance of sharing the gospel in connection with the nation of Israel as he's writing in this context.

Of course, that goes beyond Israel. We are called to preach the gospel to everyone, everywhere in this world, but in the context of Romans chapter 10 verses 14 to 17, it is specifically in relationship to the nation of Israel. And so in verses 14 and 15, notice the order chain of the preaching of the message of the gospel. I'm reading verse 14 and verse 15 once again. How shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? You remember in verse 13 he said, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. So Paul is saying, well, okay, if a person is going to call upon the name of the Lord by faith, in order for him to call upon the name of the Lord, he must be saved.

He must turn to Christ. He must turn to the Messiah. So he says, how shall they call on him on whom they have not believed? In other words, if you're going to call upon God, you have to believe in God. If you're going to call upon God through the person of the Lord, Yeshua, Jesus, the Messiah, you have to believe that he is the Christ, the anointed one, the Messiah, the Mashiach. So he's saying to them in verse 14, how shall they call on him on whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

And how shall they preach except they be sent? As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, that bring glad tidings of good things. You notice, beloved brothers and sisters, in verses 14 and 15, there are five times the Apostle Paul used the word how. How. How something is going to take place five times he's using the word how number one how shall they call number two how shall they believe number three how shall they hear number four how shall they preach and number five how beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings five times the pastor Paul used the expression how in other words what he's really saying beloved brothers and sisters he is challenging the Romans believers now to realize that if Israel if Jewish people but also beyond Israel the context here of course is Israel if anyone in this world in which we live in today is going to be able to call upon God to call upon him God be merciful to me a sinner they have to believe that God provided a way of salvation if we are going to call upon God to forgive our sin and sins we cannot tell him God I am doing this, that or the other to achieve my own salvation we can't because we are sinners by nature and we can't provide salvation for ourselves.

Someone else has to pay for our sins and God provided that someone else the Lord Jesus the Messiah so Paul gives us it is very interesting the order chain of the preaching of the message of the gospel which ultimately will result in a salvation of an individual whether Jew or Gentile Of course, the context is in reference to Israel in this context. We use these verses, any so-called missionary meetings, and any time when we go to a certain conference, we use these verses as being used to encourage God's people to go and share the gospel everywhere around the world. And notice the chain, the order in which it has to be done.

Of all, how shall they call? Well, verse 14, how shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? In other words, what we first learned, beloved brothers and sisters, someone has to go and cause others to hear that message of the gospel. And how shall they call on him in whom they have not believed someone must to must voice it share that message of the gospel we can just imagine here the apostle Shaul Paul probably has in mind also the call that he had to go to share the gospel with the with the in Asia Minor and in europe you remember in Acts chapter 13 in the in the city of antioch which is present-day Syria it was the call of the Lord that call Shaul to the work of the ministry in a act chapter 13 verse 2 as they ministered to the Lord they fasted the holy Spirit said separate unto me barnabas and Shaul for the work whereunto i have called them and when they have fasted and prayed and they laid their hands on.

Them they sent them away so the initiator is God himself God is the one here we have in verse a two of Acts chapter 13 it was the holy Spirit of God who said separate unto me Barnabas and Shaul for the work of the ministry so we can see everything begins from God remind us of the word of the Lord to the early believers in the city of Jerusalem in Acts chapter 1 and verse 8 he said ye shall receive power after that the Holy Spirit will come upon you and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in judea and in Samaria and unto the uttermost parts of the earth it is the Lord Yeshua Jesus the Messiah that raised these early apostles to go out to share the message of the gospel he initiated this in the conscience and in the hearts of God's uh people how shall they call those that are still without the Messiah without Christ well how shall they call well they have first to believe.

So the apostle continues and he says to them in this next uh a chain in the order he say well secondly in verse 14b how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard in other words secondly if someone is going to believe in the person of the Lord Jesus the Messiah they have to hear to hear of him they have to hear about the person of the Lord who he who who is he where did come from why it is so important to believe on him well they have to hear that a message about that person how shall they believe on him of whom they have not heard they must hear the person of the person of the Lord Jesus the one who came from heaven the son of God who came down from heaven to this earth.

The promise Messiah, the promise Redeemer that God had promised, the seed of the woman, the seed of Abraham, the seed of Isaac, the seed of Yaakov, the promise Redeemer that God had. Promised. The virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call his name Emmanuel, the one that God promised to send into this world he or she that haven't heard of him as yet need to hear who is that person you remember the time when you heard about Yeshua Jesus the Messiah and you wonder who is that person why was it so important to to listen about him why is it so important to understand who he is and why did he come down to this world what he has done for me what he has done here in this world the story that took place some two thousand years ago when when God took union humanity with his divine nature and was born to the virgin Miriam in the city of Bethlehem and that lived among his own people Israel for some 33 years or so and that ultimately went to the shameful cross and died on that Roman cross and paid for the sin of this world this must be heard if we are going to believe and respond he continued in the next.

Line in the order of the chain order here in verse 14 he says and notice how shall they hear without a preacher how can anyone hear the message of the love of God unless someone will go out and share share the message you remember the time when someone shared the message with you and you grasp the fact that God loves you so much and cares for you so much? You remember when we have heard the story of the besorah, the Gospel? Amazing! So a preacher needs to preach. Now here he doesn't speak about a preacher that stands behind a pulpit in a meeting hall, But someone that is sharing the gospel, that is simply maybe one-on-one in person with an individual, maybe through a little visitation, maybe through a certain meeting, whether it is through a personal contact, one needs to preach, to share the word of God graciously and lovingly with the world, the lost world around us.

So, how shall they call, how shall they believe, and how shall they hear? Paul is explaining to the Roman believers in relationship to the nation of Israel in the context of Romans chapter 10, but it is applied to all the world, beloved brothers and sisters. And he continues in verse 15, he says, how shall they preach except they be sent. Therefore, we are called to send those whom the Lord has raised to share the message of the grace of God. Thank God for the various servants of the Lord that have gone throughout the ages. And they share the message of the gospel with the lost world. How precious it is.

How thankful. I remember if there's anything that I've enjoyed immensely in the early days of my faith in the Messiah, is to hear of those individuals that were called to share the message of the gospel with the people around, Jewish or non-Jewish, whatever people, tongues, and nation, but to see the love that they have for people, for souls, for individuals. And they were sent by the Lord through their local testimony to share the message. And they've gone out and they have been sent so they can preach so that they can hear, they can believe and call upon the name of the Lord. And you notice now the fifth how is found here in verse 15.

And that fifth how is the quotation from Isaiah 52, verse 7, where Shaul Paul oftentimes quoting the Hebrew Scriptures. And he says in verse 15b, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of shalom, the gospel of peace, that bring glad tidings of good things. You know, we live in a world that there are so many bad things, evil news here in this world. Constant wars, constant friction, constant problem here in the world in which we live in. How wonderful to have the servants of the Lord, God's people who are going out to this world and sharing the message of the love of God, the message of shalom, the message of peace.

And you notice what he says. He's quoting Isaiah 53. And beloved brothers and sisters, Isaiah 53, I'm sorry, Isaiah 52 and verse 7 is speaking about the future day of the regeneration of the nation of Israel, where Israel as a nation will hear this news of Shalom. You know, today and throughout the last 2,000 years of church history, Israel didn't hear much messages of shalom, of peace. From everywhere, Israel is experiencing wars, even as we speak right now. But there is a day coming when Israel will hear the message of peace. Isaiah 52 tells us, I'm reading verse 1, Awake, awake, put on thy strength, O Zion, put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city, for henceforth they shall no more come into thee, the uncircumcised and the unclean.

It will not anymore happen in a future day that there will be that animosity and hatred against the nation of Israel against the city of Jerusalem shake thyself from the dust arise and sit down O Jerusalem loose thyself from the bands of thy neck O captive daughter of Zion the context here is the future regeneration of the nation of Israel and Paul is taking this and i'm jumping now to verse 7 where we read in Isaiah 52 7 how beautiful and upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings in Hebrew it says besorah besorah good tidings that publish peace that bringeth good tidings of good that published salvation that says unto Zion thy God reigneth the apostle Shaul Paul take Isaiah 52 and verse 7 and apply this here as he's sharing with the Roman believers what need to be done towards the nations of the world towards every people tongues and nation but in the context here of Romans chapter 10 in relationship to the nation of Israel how are they.

Going to believe to call they need to believe and how they believe they need to hear the message of the gospel how shall they hear someone have to preach how shall they someone preach they have to be sent by God and those that have gone to share the message of the gospel their feet which is humanly speaking not so beautiful they become beautiful the very feet that humanly speaking is not so attractive member of our body but what a beautiful thing is when someone take his or her feet and goes and share the message of the gospel good tidings good news to a lost world that is experiencing sadness sorrow and and ultimately death but when the gospel is being preached and the message is being sent there is a need to respond to the message of the gospel in someone now when Paul mentioned the order the order of the change of the preaching of the gospel to the world in general but in the context to Israel the nation in verse 16 he is.

Really showing to the Romans, you see why all Israel is not yet saved? Because they didn't obey the message of the gospel. And so he says, notice that in verse 16, but they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed our report? In other words, you notice the word obedience now you see yes there is the sovereign election of God Ephesians 1 verse 3 and 4 but there is also embedded here the human responsibility and we need to bring it into balance God have chosen his own people before the foundation of the world but there must be a response to the message that's being proclaimed by the hearer and obedience is essential obedience to the message of the gospel you notice it doesn't only says they did not believe but it used the word obedience it says here in verse 16 but they have not all obeyed the gospel you see brothers and sisters obedience to the message of the gospel is believing in the Lord Jesus the Messiah.

But also following him the evidence of our faith is in the in our life are we living for him are we following him notice how interesting that expression of the necessity to obey turn with me to chapter 1 of Romans, and notice what we read in verse 5, Romans 1 and verse 5, who by whom we have received grace and apostleship, listen, for obedience to the faith among all nations for his name. Notice, obedience to the faith. It's not only head belief, but it is obedience from the heart to the faith it is very important to bear this in mind obedience as well chapter 2 of Romans and there we read in verse 8 but unto them that are contentions and do not obey the truth but obey unrighteousness upon them will fall wrath and then tribulation and anguish and so on.

Those that do not obey the message of the gospel will suffer loss because judgment will come upon them. Another verse in chapter 6 of Romans the book of Romans in verse 16 and 17 there we read beloved brothers and sisters in verse 16 and 17 know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey His servants are ye to whom ye obey, whether of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart the term of doctrine which was delivered unto you. You see, obedience is a response to the message of the gospel that is sent.

That's why the Lord desires that those that hear the message will obey and respond to that message and acknowledge the fact that they are sinners and they need forgiveness of sins and to obey the call of God, repentance towards God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, our Lord Yeshua HaMashiach. And so here's the issue in verse 16. But they have not all obeyed. Some did. Shaul Paul did. Shimon Petros did. Yaakov James did. The many early believers of the church age believed. There were Jewish believers in the land of Israel, in the city of Yerushalayim. They were the ones that believed, but not all believed.

Some rejected. And that's why the fact that our people as a nation is not redeemed as yet is because there was disobedience to the message of the gospel. That's why Paul is explaining to the Roman believers yes here is the problem with the nation of Israel as a nation although privileged nation to them were given the all that which is the privileges that they have had to them were given the adoption the glory the covenants the giving of the law the service of God the promises the fathers and even out of them came the Messiah who is God-blessed forever. Privileged nation, Romans 9, but the problem is disobedience to the message of the gospel.

And there are many around the nations of the world today, Gentiles and Jews, who don't obey that message. They assume that they can make things right with God on their own term. They assume that they can receive salvation on their own merit they assume that they don't need God they assume that they can get to heaven their own way they don't really know that God is holy sin must be judged and the Mashiach Yeshua paid for the sin of this world And so Paul continued to say now in verse 17, the hearing and the believing. Listen to that, beloved brothers and sisters. So then, faith, it's come by hearing.

And hearing by the word of God. Some translation said by the word of Christ, by the word of the Messiah, the Mashiach. So, faith comes by hearing. And that is essential to understand because if they are going to call and they are going to believe, they must hear. And if they're going to hear, a preacher must be sent. And if a preacher must be sent, his feet become so beautiful. And when they hear the message they need to respond by obeying the message of the gospel and confessing their sins no wonder the apostle Shaul Paul says in Romans 1 16 I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ the gospel of the Messiah and you might ask Shaul Paul why aren't you ashamed And the answer will be, notice that, because it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes.

God has no other power to save a sinner other than through the gospel. And that's why God provided the Mashiach, the Messiah, so he will come to die as a substitute for the sin of this world to be buried and to rise again on the third day for man's kind justification. And so now that Paul has mentioned that to the Roman believers verses 14, 15, 16, and 17 the remedy for Israel's rejection of the Messiah is to hear the message of the gospel from a messenger that was sent and preached the message and they need to respond to that message and call upon the name of the Lord now notice that beloved brothers and sisters in the next verses verses 18 19 it tells us about the outcome you see when Israel when Israel didn't didn't accept the Messiah what happened either not only not because of Israel not accepting the Messiah what is the result is that many many of the nations of the world were blessed because the gospel went to the nations of the world and so we read in verse 18 the question was again raised he says in verse 18 but I say have they not heard here beloved brothers and sisters listen to that what the apostle Paul is saying have they not heard actually they have heard because the the word of God.

Was given to the nation of Israel the Lord throughout the ages has spoken to the nation of Israel and they and Paul of course remember that when Paul wrote this this epistle sometime about 60 AD we are going back some 2000 years ago already at that time he was telling to the Romans that they have heard and of course we know throughout the four gospels and prior to the four gospels through the prophets Isaiah Jeremiah and others Moses and so on the law the Torah and the prophets and the writing there was a promise of the coming of the Messiah the coming of the Redeemer how he will come where he will be born what he will accomplish that was already pointed out in the in the days of the prophets and the Judges and the Kings of Israel and then later on when the Lord the Messiah came himself through the apostles so he says to them it says in verse 18 have they not heard and notice what he said.

Oh yes verily yes they have heard how he says their sound went verse 18 went into all the earth beyond Israel to all the nations of the world and their words unto the ends of the world in other words, the word of God and the sound of the word of God and the message of God's word have gone throughout the nations of the world and you notice by the way in this verse 18 he's quoting Psalm 19 if you turn with me please to Psalm 19 for a moment and you notice in Psalm 19 what we read verse 1 we read the heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows his handiwork day and today utter a speech night and tonight show us knowledge there is no speech no language where they their voice is not heard And then verse 4, their line is gone out through all the earth and their words to the end of the world.

This is what he's quoting here. Psalm 19 and verse 4, their words to the end of the world in them that he has set the tabernacle for his son. In other words, their words through creation have gone all over the nation of the world. Creation itself speaks that there is a holy God to whom mankind is responsible and he or she needs to repent and turn to him. That's why he says, day unto day, utter a speech, night unto night, show us knowledge. The sun, the moon, the stars, creation itself presents God's word to humanity. In fact, not only that God's creation presents God's word, but also God's word was presented here in this world.

And from verses 7 to verse 11 of Psalm 19, we read, The law of the law is perfect, converting the soul. The testimony of the Lord is true, making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart. The commandments of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean and doing forever. The judgment of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold. Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Well, it is not only the creation, the heavens declare the glory of the Lord, But the law of the Lord, the word of the Lord, the perfect word of the Lord is presented here in this world.

And so the Apostle Paul in verse 18 asked the question, have they not heard? And he says, yes, verily, they have heard, they have heard. And you know, beloved brothers and sisters, no one will have an excuse in the day of judgment at the day when God, when one person, when any person will have to stand before the living God. You remember what we have already read in Romans chapter 1. You remember what we just read there concerning the day where God will have to judge this world in righteousness? We read now, notice that I'm reading, I'm back to Roman chapter 1. And in Roman chapter 1, God is taking all humanity into a courtroom.

And in verse 19, verse 18, we read, For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness. An unrighteousness of men who hold the truth in unrighteousness, because that which may be known of God is manifest in them. They have conscience, for God has showed unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen being understood by the things which he had made. Creation is set before us. Mankind have conscience within, creation without, and the wrath of God is turned against all men who do not obey the word of the Lord. At the end of verse 20, it says, so they are without excuse.

No one is excused when he or she will stand before God and rejected the message of the grace of God. Oh yes, oh yes, they have heard. And my dear friend, I'm confident that those of you that hear me have heard something about God. You have heard somehow the message of the love of God. In one form or another? Have you obeyed and accepted the ways of God's salvation? Have you accepted the provision of God who sent his only begotten son to die, to be punished on your behalf and mine? So he's asking, in verse 18, And have they, did they not, have they not heard?

Yes. The sound of them have gone into all the earth. Their words are to the end of the world. God sent his message. And he's still sending his message. He is still raising messengers and servants of God to this world that need to hear the message of the love of God and to repent of their sins and say, God, be merciful to me, a sinner, and to receive the person of the Lord Yeshua, Jesus the Messiah. And so listen to the conclusion here in connection with the problem with our people Israel as a nation while there are many many Jewish individuals throughout the 2000 years of church history came to faith in Yeshua Jesus the Messiah but as a nation national regeneration is still awaiting the future day at the end of the tribulation when all Israel shall be saved as we will read in Roman chapter 11 but here Paul explains to the believers at Rome why Israel as a nation hasn't come yet to acknowledge that Yeshua that Jesus is the Messiah and so in conclusion verses 19 20 and 21 of Roman chapter 10 the apostle Paul says listen what he said but I say did not Israel know first Moses says I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people and by foolish nation i will anger you verse 20 but Isaiah is very bold and says i was found of them that sought me not i was made manifest unto them that asked not for me you see what he's doing beloved brothers and sisters.

The apostle Paul who began this chapter by saying my heart desire and prayer to God for Israel that they might be saved you know what he is saying that already in days of old throughout the history of Israel there was always challenges of disbelief in the history of our people. Unless you think only it was in Israel's history, let me assure you it is very much the same in church history as well. The fact of ongoing, ongoing provoking the Lord in disobedience and disbelief, and oftentimes sadly it is in our own lives even though our salvation is once and for all when one has accepted the Lord but often times as believers we fail God by not trusting Him not believing Him not casting all our cares before Him not simply having our faith that He will take care of us and lead us on but when it's come to the national regeneration and salvation of the nation of Israel you notice what the Lord what the Apostle Paul saying he's now quoting the book of Deuteronomy in chapter 32 and verse 21 when Moshe was saying to Israel first Moses says and I think it'll be good to go to Deuteronomy chapter 32 beloved brothers and sisters and there in that verse 21 that we read they have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God they have provoked me to anger with their vanities and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people I will provoke them to anger.

With a foolish nation now notice in the history of Israel when Israel didn't follow God and didn't obey God during their wilderness journey since Egypt to the since Egypt to Canaan before they have entered into the promised land of Canaan as the people of Israel the Hebrews were waiting on the borders of the land of Canaan, God is rehearsing before Israel through Moshe, the history of the 40 years wilderness journey, and he's saying, look, they have caused me to be jealous when they turn to another God, this is, notice that, verse 21, I became jealous because they are my people and when they turn away to another God I am jealous over them they have moved me to jealousy with that which is not a God they went after idols and so God in his love for his people was jealous over his people and then he said they have provoked me to anger with their vanities in other words they have turned in another way even doing the wilderness journey before they have entered before they have entered into the promised land.

Because God is a jealous God he says okay you provoke me to jealousy you turn to another God I will provoke you to jealousy interesting how Moshe was saying it to Israel by the word of the Lord, and Paul take this verse and apply it to the present day age in which you and I live in today. I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people, and I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation. And what he means, Paul takes it and he applies this now to the Gentiles believers of this present age who were not a people. And yet they became the people of God by simply believing in the Lord Jesus the Messiah.

And you see beloved brothers and sisters we read I'm going to provoke them by them which were not a people and by a foolish nation I will anger you. And Isaiah now notice that he's quoting now Isaiah he quoted first Deuteronomy the beginning the foundation of the nation of Israel in days of old before they even enter into the land and now in verse 20 he's going to Isaiah 65 and he's speaking about the future day when Israel will ultimately be restored and he's saying in verse 20 Isaiah also was very bold when he says I was found of them that sought me not I was made manifest unto them that ask not after me it's amazing Isaiah 65 and verse 9 in other words those that didn't even ask for me they found me because I revealed myself to them through the message of the gospel and by simply believing and obeying the word of God they became my people they became those that are now a people that belong to me I was found of them that sought me not I was made manifest unto them that ask not after me Isaiah 65 and verse 1 quoting beloved brothers and sisters both Deuteronomy.

The beginning of the history of Israel and Isaiah 65 in relationship to the future restoration of Israel where ultimately Israel will be restored to the Lord. Notice how we know because the last verse of Romans chapter 10 is verse 21. In verse 21 we learn of the attitude of God towards his people Israel and so we read but to Israel he saith all day longer I stretch forth my hands unto a disobedience and gain saying people imagine beloved brothers and sisters all day long I'm stretching my arm I'm thinking of the verse in in Matthew chapter 18 come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest take my yoke upon you and learn of me for I am meek and lowly in heart and you shall find rest to your souls Yeshua said there in the land of Israel some 2000 years ago come unto me all you that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest the message continue on today to the whole world the invitation is not only for Israel.

But it is for all the nations of the world all the people of the world come come to me don't be disobedient don't be gainsaying people don't assume that you can do without God don't assume that you can be justified on your own merit. Don't go about seeking to establish your own righteousness, but accept the righteousness of God through the person and the work of our Lord Yeshua, Jesus the Messiah. And so in verse 21, we conclude with the 10th chapter, The heart of God. The context here is Israel. Of course, his heart is toward all nations. But in the context here, all day long I'm stretching out my heart.

My hands towards you. That's remind me. And I'm going to conclude with this, with the verses that we read in Luke chapter 13. Where we do read, beloved brothers and sisters, of the word of the Lord. Where Yeshua said, Oh, Jerusalem, Jerusalem, verse 34. Luke 13. Which killeth the prophets and stoneth them that are sent unto thee? How often would I have gathered thy children together as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not. Yeshua the Messiah is longing to restore his people, Israel, to himself. And he will, and he will, but he has to open their eyes. The eyes of the nation has to be opened, and it will, when Israel, ultimately the nation, will acknowledge Jesus, the Messiah, as the Messiah, Lord and Savior.

And about the future day, and the future restoration of Israel, what is anticipating yet in the future, we will learn in chapter 11, in the will of the Lord. In our next meetings together. Well, listen to this. The command from the Lord is to share the message of the gospel and may the Lord help us to pray so servants will go out and the message will be proclaimed and many will believe and call upon the name of the Lord. And so, our God and our Father, we want to thank you so much for your word. Encourage our hearts. We pray for Israel. Help us to have the attitude that Shaul Paul has.

My heart desire and prayer to God for Israel that they might be saved. We pray for the national salvation of the nation of Israel.
