Well, we want to say Shabbat Shalom and welcome everyone to the Bible classes of the Holy Scriptures in Israel, where we study together the Word of God from Hebrew messianic perspective, and we want to make sure that as we present the Word of God, it is helpful both to our Jewish people and to the people from around the world. And the purpose of the ministry of the Holy Scriptures in Israel is to reach our people of Israel with the message of the Lord Yeshua, Jesus, our Messiah. Well, we want to welcome everyone. We are going to begin today with a study of the book of Revelation.

Hopefully you have your Bible with you available. Turn with me, pleased to the book of Revelation. Let us just pray together. Ask the Lord to bless our meeting today, and we will begin with reading Revelation chapter 1. So, our God and our Father, we want to thank you for the privilege of reading your Word, studying your Word. Bless your Word, we pray in. Yeshua's name. Amen, Amen, Amen. So, beloved friends and dear brothers and sisters, please turn with me to Revelation chapter 1. Now we will have an introduction with the help of the Lord. The book of Revelation is not an easy book to understand, so we need the Lord's help, all of us, both the one who speaks and shares and the one who hears.

We need the help of the Holy Spirit of God to help us to rightly divide the word of truth and to gain some help as we learn together from Revelation. And so I'm beginning by reading, actually, I'm going to do today in this first meeting, I would like to read the whole first chapter of the book of Revelation, chapter one. So please follow me as I'm reading Revelation chapter 1. Well, we read the Revelation of Jesus Christ, in Hebrew, Yeshua HaMashiach, which God gave unto him to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass. And he sent it and signified by his angel unto his servant John, who bear record of the word of God and of the testimony of Jesus Christ and of all things that he saw.

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written therein, for the time is at hand. Verse 4. I, John, to the seven churches which are in Asia, grace be unto you, and peace from him which is, and which was, and which is to come, and from the seven spirits which are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ, from Yeshua HaMashiach, who is the faithful witness and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the Kings of the earth unto him that loveth us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and has made us Kings and priests unto God and his Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever.

Amen. Behold, he cometh with clouds, and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierce him, and all the kinders of the earth shall wail because of him, even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, says the Lord which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. I, John, who also am your brother and companion in tribulation and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ, the testimony of Yeshua HaMashiach. I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day and heard behind me a great voice as of trumpet saying I am Alpha and Omega the first and the last and what thou seest write in a book and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia unto Ephesus and unto Smyrna and unto Pergamos and unto Thyatira and unto Sardis and unto Philadelphia And I turned to see the voice that spake with me, and being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks, or lampstand.

And in the midst of the seven candlesticks, one like unto the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about his chest with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were as a flame of fire. And his feet like unto brass, as if they burned in a furnace. And his voice as if the sound of many waters. And he said, and he had in his right hand seven stars, and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and his countenance was like the sun shineth in his strength.

And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he said, he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not, I am the first and the last. I am he that liveth and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen, and have the keys of hell and death. Write the things which thou had seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter. The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest, in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks, the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven candlesticks or lampstands which thou sawest are the seven churches, or the seven assemblies.

And I will stop here, beloved brothers and sisters, with the reading of the whole chapter of Revelation, the book of Revelation, chapter 1. Now, when we study such an amazing, amazing book that is given to us by divine inspiration, as we are studying such a book as the book of Revelation, Oftentimes, beloved brothers and sisters and dear friends, many say that they do not read the book of Revelation because it is too complicated for them to understand. Oftentimes, we hear that people don't study the book of Revelation because there are too many symbols there, and there are things that speak about the last days, and there are many prophecies there, and there are many types that are there.

And because of this, many do not study the book of Revelation. And yet, beloved brothers and sisters, according to the Word of God, and specifically according to the book of Revelation, there is a promise of blessing to all who read and hear this book that is called Revelation. Notice what it says in verse 3 of Revelation chapter 1. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein, for the time is at hand. And therefore, on the basis of this third verse of chapter 1, and of course at the end chapter 22 and the final verses, the promise of blessing, this book that began with assurance and a promise of blessing and also concludes as well with the promise of blessing to those that read the book of Revelation.

And so now by introduction of this book, I would like to introduce it in such a way. The first thing that I would like to mention, beloved brothers and sisters, is the name of this book. Notice that, beloved brothers and sisters, I don't know if you are using in the English text the King James, for example. If you're using the King James version, you will notice that it says right at the title, as the introduction, it says the Revelation of John the divine but of course it is not the Revelation of John the divine number one because John was not divine he was a man number two it is not the Revelation of Yohanan.

John it is the Revelation notice that and I'm reading the verse one the Revelation of Jesus Christ it is the Revelation of Yeshua ha-Mashiach Jesus the anointed one Jesus is his Greek name coming from the Greek Yeshua is his Hebrew name he is the christos Christ is coming from the Hebrew it is the Revelation of really Yeshua ha-Mashiach Jesus the Messiah it's not the Revelation of John the Divine, it is the Revelation of Jesus Christ. In fact, the name, as I mentioned, is not the Revelation of John the Divine, but it is the Revelation of Jesus Christ. Revelation 1 and verse 1, Revelation of Jesus the Messiah.

In fact, beloved brothers and sisters, if you for a moment turn with me to Isaiah chapter 52, and I want to read this verse there, Isaiah 52 and verse 13, and 53 and verse 12 and you notice that God desire to exalt and extol his son the Messiah the Christ according to Isaiah 52 and verse 13 we read behold my servant he shall deal. Prudently he says he shall be exalted and extol and be very high God wants to exalt his son the Messiah and to make him very high in the book of Revelation is given to us to to have a a Revelation and unfolding of the person of God the son who became a man Jesus Christ Yeshua the Messiah chapter 53 of Isaiah when Isaiah is speaking about the suffering servant at the end of the 53rd chapter in verse 12 we read therefore will i divide him a portion with the great and he shall divide the spoil with the strong why because he has poured out his soul unto death and he was numbered with the transgressors he bared the sin of many and he made intercession for the transgressors in other words God want to exalt his son the Messiah and he's presenting him before us and he's revealing before us the word in the word in Greek Revelation apocalypsis simply means unveiling in Hebrew it's called chazon or hidgalut God want to reveal the person.

Of his son the Messiah whom he wants to exalt and extol and be made very high in the book of Colossians and chapter 1 and verse 18 we read at the second part of verse 18 it says here that in all things he might have the preeminence the Lord Jesus Christ the Lord Yeshua HaMashiach is the one whom God wants him to have the preeminence and the book of Revelation the book of apocalypsis the book of hidgalut chazon it is unveiling the person and the glory of this wonderful person by the name of Jesus by the name of Yeshua who loved us and came at his first coming to die for the sin of this world became the Lamb of God who was judged on your behalf and mine and now in this book of Revelation God is revealing to us this wonderful person by the name of Yeshua Jesus Christ the Revelation of Yeshua the Messiah in fact the word apocalypsis is mentioned about 18 times in the book of in the new covenant in the new testament.

The first time that the word apocalypsis is mentioned is in Luke chapter 2 and there we read i want to read this verse Luke chapter 2 and verse 32 where we read beloved brothers and sisters Luke 2 and verse 32, where we read, he became a light to lighten the Gentiles. That word for lighten the Gentiles comes from the Greek word apocalypsis, to give light to the Gentiles of the nations of the world and the glory of thy people Israel. Luke chapter 2 and verse 32 in the book of Ephesians and in chapter 1 beloved brothers and sisters we read in verse 17 these words listen to this where the word apocalypsis is mentioned as well chapter 1 and verse 17 there we read that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ the father of glory may give unto you the spirit of wisdom, knowledge, and Revelation, apocalypses, in the knowledge of Him.

God wants to give you and I knowledge and wisdom in relationship to the knowledge of the person of His Son and Revelation in the knowledge of Him. The first time the word apocalypses is mentioned in the new covenant is Luke 2 32. The last time the word apocalypsis is mentioned in the Hebrew in the new covenant is in Revelation chapter 1 and verse 1. The Revelation of Jesus Christ, the Revelation, the apocalypsis, the unveiling of the person of our Lord Jesus the Messiah. This is fascinating, beloved brothers and sisters. As we are entering, with the help of the. Lord, with the help of the Spirit of God, as we are starting together the book of Revelation, it is important to understand that God wants to reveal to you and me.

He wants to reveal to mankind who is that wonderful person that came from heaven whose name is Yeshua, whose name is Jesus. Now, the next thing that I would like to mention as we are introducing that book of Revelation is, who is the author? Who wrote that book of Revelation? In fact, according to chapter 1 of Revelation, verse 1, we read John to the seven assemblies. A little bit further down in verse 9 of chapter 1, I, John, who am also your brother and companion in tribulation in the kingdom and patient of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos. Why? For the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ, of Yeshua the Messiah.

The one that was used by the Lord to present before us And to pen the book of Revelation is none else but Yohanan. In fact, I want to read a little bit to present Yohanan, John, before you as well, beloved brothers and sisters, as we are starting together this very interesting book of Revelation. Who is that man by the name of John? If you just go back with me, please, first of all, to the Gospel of Matthew. I want a few things to mention to you concerning the person whom the Spirit of God used by divine design to append for us to receive the Revelation from the Lord Jesus concerning himself.

First of all, notice in chapter 4 of the Gospel of Matthew, verses 18 to 22, we do read, Beloved brothers and sisters, I'm reading verse 18 of Matthew chapter 4. It says, And Jesus, walking in the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting net into the sea, for they were fishers. And he said unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Verse 20 and they straightway left their nets and followed him then verse 21 and 22 we read and going on from thence he saw other two brethren notice who are these other two brethren James the son of zebedee and John his brother in a ship with zebedee their father mending their nets and he called them and verse 22 tells us and they immediately left the sheep and their father then followed him the first thing we learned about who is a John he is one of the first disciples that followed the Lord Jesus the Messiah when the Lord Jesus Yeshua HaMashiach said follow me and i will make you fishers of men they were and John Yohanan ben zavdi in Hebrew is Yohanan is his Hebrew name ben he's the son of zavdi zavdi was his father and Yohanan was a galilean in this in Galilee he was a mending nets with his brother Yaakov James and they together were one of the first disciples which were called by Yeshua Jesus and they followed him they followed him John followed.

With his brother they followed the Lord Jesus then turn with me to Matthew chapter 10 and I want to say the second thing about Yohanan ben Zavdai he was also one of the 12 apostles that were called by the Lord and sent by the Lord Jesus to be an apostles to share the message of the gospel to the population of the world according to Matthew chapter 10 there we read and when he called unto him his 12 disciples notice they are called first disciples talmidim he said he gave unto them power against unclean spirit to cast them out and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of diseases now notice the names the names of the 12 now they call apostles apostolos in Greek shlichim in Hebrew they were called talmidim in verse one but they are called now a shlichim in verse two they are called disciples in verse one and they are called apostles in verse two and what are the name the first is Simon who is called Peter and unto his.

Brother and now notice who are the third and the fourth was Yaakov James the son of Zavdai and John Yochanan his brother and then of course we have the other name Philip, Batalmai, Thomas, Matthew, Yaakov, James, Libyaz and then Simon and Yehuda and Judah and you notice this beloved brothers and sisters the second thing we learn about John Yochanan that not only that he was one of the first disciples or one of the first people who were called by the Messiah and follow after Jesus but they were also he was also one of the 12 apostles that the Lord sent them as we read in Matthew chapter 10 where the Lord Jesus said to them go he says he said to them go in the first time go not into the ways of the Gentiles initially and into the cities of the Samaritans as yet but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel and later on John and the others went beyond the borders of Israel to the nations of the world listen to the third thing about the.

Author or the the human author of the book of Revelation a John Yohanan ben Zavdai he was the one that according to the word of God beloved brothers and sisters if you turn with me to the gospel of John and John chapter 13 he was the one that we read that he leaned on Jesus breast there is a custom in the feast of Pesach Passover that is still practiced today by the Jewish people is to lean upon the one another specifically at more to the right really because you are leaning on the heart on the breast of the other and according to John 13 verse 21 22 and 23 listen to what we read and when Jesus thus said he was troubled in spirit and he testified and said verily verily I said to you that one of you shall betray me then the disciples looked one on another a doubting of whom he speak now there was one leaning on Jesus bosom one of his disciples whom Jesus love and so on and he is the one that asked the question.

In other words the apostle Yohanan John was the one that leaned on Jesus bosom on Yeshua's bosom at the feast of Pesach the feast of Passover he you might say beloved brothers and sisters he almost felt the heartbeat of the Lord he was the man of affection the man that we read who said of the Lord Jesus the Messiah he knew no sin he was very close to the Lord in fact the fourth thing that we find out concerning Yochanan ben Zavdai that he was the one that always called himself in the gospel of John the disciples whom Jesus loved. Throughout the whole gospel of John from John 13 onwards to John 20 we always read that he's calling himself as he's the author of the book of John the gospel of John he says he was he was a disciple whom Jesus loved whom Yeshua loved John 13 23 John 19 26 John 20 verse 2 John 21 verse 7 John 21 verse 20 John 21 verse 24 he is called the disciple whom Yeshua loved he never mentioned his name but he always.

Called himself I am the disciple whom Jesus loved if I'm reading chapter 20 of the book of John chapter 20 and verse 1 and 2 we do read beloved brothers and sisters the first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early when it was dark and the sepulcher there unto the sepulcher and sears the stone taken away from the sepulcher then she runneth and she cometh to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus whom Yeshua loved he always presented himself as the disciple whom not whom loved Jesus not who loved Yeshua but the disciple whom Yeshua loved what an amazing man he was no wonder the Spirit of God used him to give us the book of Revelation the fifth thing we learn about the author of the book of Revelation is that he this is Yohanan ben zavdai John son of zebedee that he was the one to whom Jesus committed the responsibility to take care of his mother Miriam according to John chapter 19 and verse 26 and verse 27 we do read when Jesus therefore saw his mother.

And that disciple standing by whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son. And we read verse 27, Then saith he unto that disciple, Behold thy mother. And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home. It is interesting, beloved brothers and sisters, that the Lord from the cross from the tree he gave the committed the responsibility of caring for his earthly mother for his mother Miriam to Yohanan ben Zabdai and he took her to his own home amazing to see beloved brothers and sisters and finally as we are speaking about this you notice that Yochanan ben Zabdai John is the one who was so faithful he was so faithful to testify God's word and to give testimony to the person of the Lord Jesus the Messiah and that is found go back to the book of Revelation and it is Revelation chapter 1 and it is in verse 9 I John whom also am your brother and companion in tribulation and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ i was on the island that is called Patmos notice for the reason for the word of God.

And for the testimony of Jesus Christ this is very interesting so you and i will be aware of who is the author the one that wrote that was used by the Lord to give us this very important book that is called the Revelation or a Revelation of Jesus Christ of Yeshua HaMashiach now let me continue as we are introducing this book this book beloved brothers and sisters were given were written by Yohanan a book of Revelation was given for God's people as an instruction I know sometimes we don't like to read Revelation because we feel that we are incapable to understand Revelation that's why we trust that with the help of the Lord he will help all of us in the study of Revelation, because we all need help from the Lord.

But if you turn to the end of the book of Revelation, to chapter 20, and you notice what we read, beloved brothers in Caesar, chapter 22, I should say. And there in chapter 22 and verse 10, we read. He saith unto me, John is saying, do not seal, seal not the saying of the prophecy of this book for the time is at hand in other words John don't seal the book make it available for people to be able to read it prayerfully to seek the guidance from the Lord to be able to understand that book do not seal it because it was given for the instruction of the people of God you and I when we read the book of Revelation, we learn about the plan and the program of God, although much of the book of Revelation has to do with events that will take place after the rapture of the church.

Specifically during the tribulation period, most of the book of Revelation deal with the seven-year tribulation and it culminates with the messianic kingdom and ultimately the eternal state but it was given for the believers in the present day age of the church of the assembly of the ecclesia so you and i will receive help from the Lord and order that we will. Be able to have instruction as to what is ahead and the plan and the program of God in relationship to the church in relationship to Israel and in relationship to the whole world and that's why it is important now you notice this brothers and sisters if you now just turn with me for a moment put your finger here and turn with me to the prophet Daniel for a moment you notice in the book of Daniel Daniel chapter 12 you turn there to Daniel chapter 12 and in Daniel chapter 12 we do read concerning the book of Daniel to Daniel God said to seal the book of Daniel but to Yohanan God says in Revelation 22 don't seal the book of Revelation notice this i'm reading Daniel 12 and verse 4 but thou oh Daniel shut up the words and seal the book even to the time of the end many shall run to and fro and knowledge shall be increased Daniel shut up the words and seal the book now the word in Hebrew shut up it is in Hebrew it says storm.

Less to storm mean to cover to close to shut up and then and seal the Hebrew what is hatom is to to seal it when you when you shut something like a letter and you seal it that no one will be able to open it until the time comes so to Daniel he says shut up the word seal up the book notice this a little bit later in verses 8 and 9 of Daniel chapter 12 and i heard but i understood not then said i oh my Lord what shall be the end of these things and he said go thy way Daniel this is the angel that spoke with him go thy way and he said for the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end Daniel you sealed the information that I have given you concerning the plan and the purpose of God for Israel Yohanan John chapter Revelation chapter 22, do not seal this book.

Do not seal this writing. Why? To help us to. Understand in this present day of the dispensation of the assembly, of the ecclesia, to be able to understand the plan and the program of God, both for the assembly, the first three chapters, for Israel and ultimately for the whole world. Notice this, beloved brothers and sisters. Also, as I already mentioned there, that this book began with the promise of blessing, Revelation 1 and verse 3, and it ends with the promise of blessing. Notice that if you turn once again to Revelation chapter 22, And there it says in verse 7 and verse 14, and I'm reading verse 7, Behold, I come quickly.

Blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. Verse 14, Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life and may enter in through the gates into the city. In other words, you and I are called to hear that which the Lord is intending to provide for us in the Revelation of Jesus the Messiah, but also not only to hear it in order to find some sort of, we might say, all sort of fantasies, no, but to hear the word of the Lord and with the Lord's help with the help of the Spirit of God to do and to follow his instruction and therefore there is a promise of blessing to the reader and there is a promise of blessing to the hearer and even further to both there is a promise in keeping the words the things or the sayings which are written here in this book the time is at hand the time is at hand now notice as we continue here just a few more points as we're introducing the book this a book beloved brothers and sisters is the unveiling as i mentioned this earlier the apocalypses the the hidgalut God revealed to us the person of his son but you will notice.

Specifically here that the Lord Jesus the Messiah is revealed is unfolded before us not so much in a connection with his first coming as the Lamb of God but this time he's unfold before us in connection or in relationship to his second coming. He is the one, he's been unveiled before us. God is manifest, the person of the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, as the son of man, Ben-Hadam, but also as a judge and also as a king and the one that is anointed one that's why you will notice that as we read the first chapter we can see that the Lord Yeshua Jesus the Messiah is presented before us as a king in a role of a judge you will notice as I'm reading in a little bit further down where the where the John received the the Revelation concerning the Lord what does he see we read here and i'm just going to have a description it says in verse 13 in the midst of the seven lampstand was one like unto the son of man the word son of man come from the Hebrew word ben Adam this is the messianic title of the Lord Jesus according to Daniel chapter 7 he's called ben Adam who come in his glory in his power at the second coming no longer presented here as.

The one that came to suffer and to die but he's coming as the one that will come to rule and to reign and to judge this world in righteousness we continue beloved brothers and sisters to see how wonderful that he is presented here before us as the son of man not as then as a judge and that's why we can see his head and his hair and his eyes and his feet and his voice and his mouth he has the twofold the two-edged sword and his countenance was like the sun shining in his strength and when John see him what does he do he fall at his feet as dead you see beloved brothers and sisters God is presenting before us the person of the Lord Jesus the Messiah as the one that is the son of man Ben Adam the king Hamelech the the judge who will come to judge this world in righteousness.

And he's the one also that is judging in the assemblies. He's evaluating the condition of the assemblies in, as we will see it in Revelation. Chapter 2 and chapter 3. He's in the midst of the lampstand evaluating the condition of the assemblies in this present day in which you and I live in today. We will see it in chapter 2 and chapter 3. Another thing that I want to mention to you, beloved brothers and sisters, you will notice that the book of Revelation is a book of last things. It is a book of last things, just like Genesis was a book of first things, the book of Revelation is a book of last things.

Just an example, Genesis, we read in Genesis, in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, Genesis chapter 1 and verse 1. In Revelation chapter 21 and verse 1, we read, and I saw a new heaven and a new earth. In Genesis chapter 1 and verse 5, we read, the darkness God called light. In Revelation chapter 21 and verse 25, there shall be no night there. Take us to the future. In Genesis chapter 1 and verse 16, God made the two great lights, the sun and the moon. In Revelation chapter 21 and verse 23, there is a city that has no need of sun or moon. God will be the light there in that city of the new Jerusalem.

In Genesis chapter 3 and verse 1, Satan appears as a deceiver of mankind. In Revelation chapter 20 verse 10, Satan disappears into the lake of fire forever. In Genesis chapter 3 verses 6 and 7, it shows we see a garden, Gan Eden in Hebrew, the garden of delight. This garden, it's ultimately defilement have entered into the garden. Because of sin and disobedience but in Revelation chapter 21 we read that a new city of Jerusalem is being seen there shall be there no wise will enter into this city anything that defileth Revelation 21 and verse 27. In Genesis chapter 3 verses 8 9 and 10 we read that That God was walking with men, but the walk of God with men was interrupted because of sin.

In Revelation chapter 21 and verse 3, the walk of God is with men. He will walk with them. Can you imagine? Revelation is the book of last things, as Genesis is the book of first things. We read in Genesis chapter 3 and verse 13 the initial victory of the serpent. The serpent was victorious in the sense that he was successful to beguile Chava, to beguile Eve. But in Revelation chapter 20 verse 10 and 22 and verse 3, ultimately the victory over the serpent is the lamb will be victorious over the serpent and Satan will ultimately be defeated. In Genesis chapter 3 and verse 16 we read i will greatly multiply your pain and sorrow that will be because of sin upon mankind but in Revelation chapter 21 and verse 4 neither shall there be pain anymore i don't know about you beloved brothers and sisters there's so much pain and sorrow here in this world and all of us who belong to the Lord who know God accepted Yeshua Jesus the Messiah we are longing for the day when sorrow will be no more no more pain no more sorrow when we will be in the presence of the Lord in Revelation I should say in Genesis chapter 3 and verse 17 God says cursed is the ground for your sake because you have sinned God said to Adam in Revelation 22 and verse 3 we read there shall be no more curse Revelation is the book of last things where God is going to bring to pass all that that he intend for mankind for you for me for the whole world and those that will trust in him.

Let me just finalize here in Genesis sadly because of sin Adam and Eve were driven out from the presence of the Lord Genesis 3 and verse 24 although God provided for them a coats of skin because he killed an animal which pointed to the coming of the Messiah who will die and will provide for the believers garment of salvation. But in Revelation, how wonderful, we read that eventually there will be access to the presence of God and we shall see his face. Revelation chapter 21 and verse 3 and chapter 22. And verse 4. These are just some of the notes that we have to see the contrast between Genesis, the book of beginning, and Revelation, the book of last things, finality.

And that's why, beloved brothers and sisters, you will notice that the number seven is mentioned many, many, many times in the book of Revelation and let me just point this out to you as well in the book of Revelation you find the number seven seven simply speaks of the full number completeness and Therefore, you find in chapter 1 and 2 and 3, the seven churches. You also find the seven spirits of God in chapter 1 and verse 4. You will find in Revelation chapter 1 and verse 12, the seven golden lampstands. You will find the number seven mentioned again, the seven stars in Revelation 1 verse 16 and onwards. You will also find the seven seals that are found in Revelation chapter 5 how wonderful to see that you will also find the seven horns that are mentioned in chapter 5 and verse 6 you will find also the seven letters mentioned in chapter 2 and verse 1 the seven trumpets in chapter 8 the seven thunders in chapter 10 the seven heads in chapter 12 the seven crowns in chapter 12 the seven angels in chapter 8 the seven thunders or the seven thousands of people that we find in Revelation 11 the seven plagues in Revelation 15 the seven golden bowls in Revelation 15 and the seven hills in chapter 17 and the seven Kings in chapter 17 and verses 10 and 11 amazing beloved brothers and sisters why the number seven is mentioned so many times in the book of Revelation why simply because the number seven is a full number speak of completeness in fact beloved brothers and sisters the first time that the number seven is mentioned in the Bible, in the Word of God, is in Genesis chapter 2.

Because God called, on the seventh day, He rested. Notice we read in Genesis chapter 2, And the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day, God ended His work which He had made, and He rested. On the seventh day, from all his work which he had made, and God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it because that in it he rested from all the work which God has created and made. It is very interesting that the only number of a day in the word of God that has a name is the seventh day and it is called in Hebrew Shabbat.

All the other names of the days do not have a name. All the other Numbers it's only the Hebrew number the first day, the second day the third day, the fourth day the fifth day, the sixth day but the only day that God gave a name to calling it the Sabbath or in Hebrew the Shabbat is the seventh day where he rested and the work was over and that's why the number seven you will find this again and again mentioned here in the book of Revelation and so beloved brothers and sisters these are just some important information for us as we are entering into the study of the book of Revelation I want just to mention that notice that the word here is singular.

It says the Revelation singular, not revelations plural. It is one ongoing unfolding Revelation concerning the person of the Christ, of the Messiah. God is ongoing unveiling more and more and more and more concerning the person of his son, the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, who is the son of man, Ben-Hadam, who came the first time to die for the sin of this world, but will come again the second time to become a king. But he will take the role of a judge and he will judge this world in righteousness and until that future day will come he is judging he is evaluating the spiritual condition of the assemblies to whom these the letter was written all the seven churches of Asia Minor and the seven churches of Asia Minor representing the whole assembly of the living God.

While it is written to seven local churches in Asia Minor, beloved brothers and sisters, from the island that is called Patmos, presently Atmos is really in Greece, while the seven churches of Asia Minor are in present-day Turkey. And so John received the Revelation of the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, the glorified Messiah, as a king in the role of a judge. He received it on the island that is called Patmos, present-day Greece. And he's called to send this letter to the seven churches in Asia Minor. And let me read once again, Revelation chapter 1, verses 1, 2, and 3. And there we read the Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him to show unto his servant things which must shortly come to pass.

And he sent it and signified by his angel unto his servant, John, who bear record of the word of God and of the testimony of Jesus Christ and of all the things which he saw and he says blessed is he that readeth and and they that hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written therein for the time is at hand and from there was John is writing this and sending this book of Revelation to the seven churches in Asia Minor and so now let me just for the few more minutes that is left for us beloved brothers and sisters I want you just to notice that the subject once again of the book of Revelation is the person of our Lord Jesus the Messiah this he is the subject he is the the theme in fact the theme is the person of the Lord Jesus who is going to come at his second coming verse 7 says behold he cometh with.

Clouds and every eye shall see him so the theme and the subject of the book of Revelation is the glorious person of our Lord Yeshua Jesus the Messiah then we continue notice that that John is now and I'm going to read now verse one again the Revelation of Jesus Christ how did John receive that Revelation notice this beloved brothers and sisters notice who is actually the author although John Yohanan is the human author but really he received these notice how he received the book of Revelation it is the Revelation of Jesus Christ which God number one this is God the father Elohim haabba he gave it unto him this is Jesus the Messiah Jesus Christ and then notice that it was given unto his servants the things which must shortly come to pass notice at the end of verse 1 which he sent and signified by his angel unto his servant John so how did John receive this book of Revelation well God the father Elohim Abba gave it to God.

The son the Lord Jesus who gave it to his angel and he gave it to John and John gave it to you and I notice the process whereby the book of Revelation was presented and given to us in our hands today. God gave it unto him, unto Jesus the Messiah. Yeshua the Messiah gave it unto the angel. The angel gave it unto John, and John gave it unto us, unto his servants. I'm going to read verse 1 again. The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him. Continue to show unto his servants this is all God's people the things which must shortly come to pass but how did he do so how did he gave it unto his servant he sent it and signified by his angel unto his servant John now I just want to mention it's so interesting that God oftentimes using to give message to his own servants.

In the study of the book of Zechariah, we notice very well that angels were used in the giving of the prophetic word of the Lord concerning the restoration of Israel through an angel. And Zechariah has these visions that he sees that the angels show it unto him. God using angels to minister his word unto his people. In fact, turn with me for a moment quickly to Hebrews chapter 2. In Hebrews chapter 2, we read, listen to this, in Hebrews chapter 2 and verses 1 and 2, Therefore we ought to give a more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest end by any time or at any time we should let them sleep.

For if the word spoken by angels, that is the law. Even the law was given to Moshe actually by angels. For the word spoken by angels was steadfast. And every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward. The law was given to Israel, to Moshe, through angels. We don't read it in Exodus 19 and 20, but Hebrews, the author, help us to understand this. Turn with me to Galatians for a moment. Galatians chapter 3. And there we listen to this Galatians chapter 3. And there the Apostle Paul say to the Galatians, And notice that he's saying there in chapter 3, and there we read in verse, I'll read just a couple of verses there.

Well, I'll read just a couple of verses there concerning the law that was given. It says here in chapter 3, verse 10, and as for as many of the works of the law they are under curse for it is written cursed is every man that continues not in the things which are written in the book of the law and you notice he says but that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident for the just shall live by faith and the law is not of faith but the man that doeth that shall live in them and he continues on beloved brothers and sisters and he's presenting the fact I'm going to read a little bit further down, verse 17, and this I say that the covenant that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law which was 430 years later, cannot disannul that which could, God made the promises, and he just continued on and he's speaking about the fact that the law was ultimately given by a mediator.

Notice verse 19, wherefore then service the law, it was added because of transgression until the seed that should come to whom the promise was made, and it was ordained by angels in the hand of mediator. In other words, even angels, the ones who were given the law to Moshe, and ultimately to the nation of Israel. So angels were involved in the giving of the law. Angels are involved here in the giving of the book of Revelation. In fact, it was Stephen who said, you receive the law by the disposition of angels. Acts chapter 7 and verse 53. And so just to finish with this introduction, we are done in the first three verses.

Angel was used to give the book of Revelation God the Father gave it to God the Son Jesus Christ he gave it to an angel an angel gave it to John John gave it to us and it is recorded for us today his servants all those that belong to the Lord and finally brothers and sisters I'm going to close with verse 3 where we read actually verse two and three who bear record of the word of God and of the testimony of Jesus Christ and of all the things which he saw John is saying blessed is he that readers and they that hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written therein for the time is at hand in other words the time is at hand when the time will come for the unleashing of everything that is written in the book of Revelation it will speedily take place although we are living many many years later it will speedily take place beloved brothers and.

Sisters well i think we should stop here with the first a few verses of chapter one and in the will of the Lord we will continue on in our next meeting together beloved brothers and sisters And we will move along one verse at a time as we are entering into the learning from the book of Revelation together. Well, may the Lord bless his word, Abba, Father. We thank you for this amazing book, amazing Revelation of Jesus Christ, of Yeshua HaMashiach. Abba Father, we pray that you will help us to be occupied with him, the one who loved us and gave himself for us.
