Shabbat Shalom everyone. I would like you to turn with me to the Brit HaChadasha, that is the New Covenant, to the Gospel of Mark. John, Yohanan Mark, who wrote the Gospel. We have it as the second in the order in the Brit HaChadasha, in the New Testament. And we are today in Mark chapter 6. And I would like to read the verses beginning with verse 30 to the end of the sixth chapter. And I'm reading from verse 30. And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Yeshua, and told him all things, both what they had done and what they had taught. And he said unto them, "Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while." For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

And they departed into a desert place by ship privately. And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran a foot thither out of all cities, and out went them and came together unto him. And Yeshua, Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion towards them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things. And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, "This is a desert place, and now the time is far past. Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread, for they have nothing to eat." He answered and said unto them, "Give ye them to eat." And they said unto him, "Shall we go and buy two hundred penny worth of bread, and give them to eat?" He saith unto them, "How many loaves have ye?

Go and see." And when they knew, they say, "Five and two fishes." And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon green grass. And they sat down in ranks by hundreds and by fifties. And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven. And he blessed and break the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before them. And the two fishes divided he among them all. And they did all eat and were filled. And they took up twelve baskets full of fragments and of the fish. And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.

And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before Bethsaida, while he sent away the people. And when he had sent them away, he departed into the mountain to pray. And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land. And he saw them toiling and rowing, for the wind was contrary unto them. And then about the fourth watch of the night, he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea. And would have passed by them. But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit.

And cried out, for they all saw him and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, be of good cheer, it is I, be not afraid. And he went up unto them into the ship, and the wind ceased. And they were so amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered, for they considered not the miracle of the loaves, for their heart was hardened. And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennetzeret, and drew to the shore. And when they were come out of the ship straightway, they knew him, and ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds, those that were sick, where they heard he was.

And whithersoever he entered into the villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch, if it were but the border of his garment. And as many as touched him, they were made whole. And I'm going to stop here with the reading of Mark chapter 6, verses 30 to 56. Now, brothers and sisters, I am very thankful for the privilege of preaching the Word of God, because the Word of God is very precious. The Word of God, God's Word, the Bible, the Tanakh, the Brit HaChadashah, the Law, the Prophets, the Writings, the New Covenant, it's the Word of God, and it is sufficient to feed us and to encourage us as we go along here in this world in which we live in.

To remind you, we are studying, of course, the Gospel of Mark. Mark presents our Lord, Yeshua, the Messiah, as the servant of the Lord. How wonderful to know that God the Son became a man and became a servant, a slave, you might say. The purpose of his coming to this world is in order to serve you and to serve me, to serve our people, of all the people of Israel, to serve the nations of the world, to provide salvation for a world that is filled with sin and corruption. That's the reason why the Mashiach of Israel, the Messiah of Israel, came down to this world.

By the time we arrive to chapter 6, we have already learned that Yeshua is introducing himself to our people Israel. He's inviting the people of Israel. He said to them, as we have already learned from chapter 1, as he was presented before us, and he was saying, declaring the kingdom of God is at hand, repent and believe the Gospel, Mark 1 and verse 15. He's inviting the people of Israel to turn around to him because he is the true Mashiach of Israel and the Savior of this world. But of course, we know very well that not all of our people Israel have accepted him. And it is very first coming, the vast majority of our own people Israel did not acknowledge him as the Messiah.

But there were plenty. Many who did. Their disciples, who became an apostles, and many who have already have trusted in him. And they were the foundation of the assembly, of the ecclesia. They preached the Gospel to the nations of the world. And you and I have benefited from the preaching of the Gospel by those many early disciples of Yeshua, the Messiah. Now, in this sixth chapter, we learn about the beauty of the person of the Messiah as the fact that he was, you might say, a creator. Now, I mean, what I just read to you today is abnormal. It's not something that you read about any normal, any regular man.

He is doing, number one, he cares for the needs of the people and he's feeding the multitude there in the Galilee. Then secondly, he cares for the need of his disciples and he's calming the sea as he walks on the sea in a miraculous way and calming them in order for them to have the shalom, this peace in their hearts. So just let's look over this to make a couple of remarks here on this sixth chapter. Notice from verse 30, where I began to read, to verse 44, we see the care that Yeshua had for the people there in the land of Israel. And brothers and sisters, he cares for you.

He cares for me. He cares for the nations of the world. He does care while you sometimes feel as nobody cares. But there is one that is above all others. His name is Yeshua, Jesus. He does care for us all. And so we read in verse 30 and 31. First of all, look at this. This is the first time that the name Apostles is mentioned in the Gospel of Mark. It says here in verse 30 and 31. And the Apostles gathered themselves together unto Yeshua. And they told him all things, both what they have done and what they have taught. And he said unto them, Come yourself apart into a desert place and rest a while.

For there were many coming and going. And they had no time so much even as to eat. You see, apparently, these ones, the first time that we have the word Apostles here. The Hebrew word is Shlichim. The Greek word is Apostolos. Come from the word send out ones. It's the fact that he has already sent them. And imagine, he multiplied himself by sending those 12 Apostles. Those 12 Hebrew men, Jewish men, whom he called them to become the Apostles. They sent out ones. And he sent them. And they are coming back to him now. And they told him, Look, Yeshua, we have done this and we have done that.

And we have taught this and we have taught that. They labored. They ministered a word. They may have performed many miracles which he have empowered them to do. To heal the sick. To give sight to the blind. The lame could walk. The blind could see. The deaf could hear. In Yeshua's name, as we have sung earlier. But they also taught. They were teaching. They were doing exactly what I am doing right now. Teaching the word of God. And how we need to be taught, beloved brothers and sisters. The Bible teaches us the importance of learning from the word of God. So he taught them. Moses taught the people of Israel.

Joshua taught the people of Israel. We can read of all the prophets of Israel who taught the people of Israel. And now we see the disciples who are called Apostles. Teaching the people of Israel. And so what did he do? After they labored so hard. He said to them in verse 31. Notice how gracious he is. He says, "Come ye yourself apart into a desert place and rest for a while." And the reason he said that. Because so many people came to them. They had so many needs, beloved brothers and sisters. And they did not even have time to eat food. Because there were so many needs.

You see, beloved brothers and sisters. People have needs today. They try to meet their needs by going anywhere else. But they neglect to come with their need to the God of the Bible. This is the greatest mistake that we make. We can try to fix our problems everywhere. And we don't fix our problems. We need to come back to the God who loved us. And to the Mashiach who gave himself for us. And so you notice what he said to them. "Come ye yourself and rest for a while." And you notice he said to them, "Come into a desert place." Now when I read that passage.

You remember he is in Galilee. In the Galil there is a desert place. It's the north of Israel. Lots of rain in general. It has many trees there. And it's green. There is a water of the Kinneret, the Sea of Galilee. And it makes you wonder, what does it mean desert place? It seems to be it's more correct to say deserted place. A quiet place where they can be alone. And quietly be before the Lord and rest. And it is so beautiful. When we just came now from the Bible camp where we were teaching. And the theme verse of the Bible camp was the verse in Matthew 11 and verse 28.

"Come unto me all ye that labor, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." The invitation is that God is inviting us all. Yeshua inviting mankind, "Come, have rest for your souls." Those that have sinned need to be forgiven. And He can provide rest for the soul. But also, even after we became believers. He said, "Take my yoke upon you and learn of me. For I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find again rest to your soul." This is the second rest for the believers who can rest in the person of the Lord Yeshua the Messiah. So in verse 31, the apostles returned.

They served. They shared it with Yeshua. And He invited them to rest. So notice that, beloved brothers and sisters. Look what happened. While they began to go to the deserted place where there will be the time for rest. They didn't have any really rest. Because there were so many needs. It says in verse 32, they departed into that desert place or deserted place by ships privately. Notice they were quietly going away just to get some time of rest. But then lo and behold, notice what it says in verse 33. The people saw them departing. Many knew Him and they ran a foot further out of all the cities and out went them and they came together unto Him.

You know, it is amazing. You think you're going to get some rest? But there's no rest because there are so many needs. I sometimes wondered, all of us have needs. We have family needs. We have health needs. We have financial needs. We have all sorts of family problems, needs. And we all need to turn to the Lord. And He's always ready and available to meet our needs, to encourage our hearts. And so notice, even though they followed the disciples, but the gathering center was the person of Yeshua Himself. And so you notice that we read, they came together unto Him, unto Him. You know, there's a verse in the Bible that says where two or three are gathered together unto my name, Yeshua said.

There am I in the midst of them. Matthew chapter 18, verse 20. The believers can gather around Yeshua, the Messiah, and He is their center. It is Him. It is all about Him. The Lord Jesus, the Lord Yeshua, the Messiah. So notice where we continue to move along while they gather around Him and they came to Him. Look at the heart of the Messiah of Israel and the Savior of this world. Look what we read in verse 34. When Jesus, Yeshua, when He came out, He saw much people. And He was moved with compassion towards them because they were as sheep having no shepherd. And He began to teach them many things.

Oh, beloved friends, beloved brothers and sisters. We learn here how the people that were there, the multitude that were there, they were like sheep that had no one to lead them. No shepherds to lead them. It reminds me of the verse that is found in Numbers chapter 27. That Moshe Rabbeinu, Moses mentioned in prayer to God in Numbers chapter 27. Listen what we read in verse 15 to verse 18. "And Moses spoke unto the Lord saying, "Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation." This is the congregation of Israel. "Which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which will lead them out, and which may bring them in, that the congregation of the Lord be not as sheep which have no shepherd." And the Lord answered Moses.

He said, "The Lord said unto Moshe, "Take thee Joshua, the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay thine hand upon him, and he will become the leader of our people Israel." Many years ago. Now isn't it true today? God's people are depicted by the picture of a flock. Sheep that going in a direction. But without a shepherd who will direct them the right way, not to the right, not to the left, to go in a straight path. Shepherds need to be raised. And that's why we pray for shepherds today. We need not only Gospel preachers who preach the Gospel. We need not only teachers who teach the Bible.

But we need shepherds. Because the flock are going astray. Many false teaching rise in. Liberalism, legality, self-will that rise in the midst of God's people. And we need a shepherd to lead us. We all need it, beloved brothers and sisters. And Yeshua the Messiah looked at the nation of Israel in those days in the city of Galilee. The multitude of the people that were there in the midst. And notice he had compassion. He cared for the flock. He cared for the people. He had compassion upon them. Why? Because they were as sheep having no shepherd. It is a terrible thing to be going on our own, in our own way, in our own will.

I'll do what I want. I'll go where I want. I'll do as I please. I say as I want. If we don't have someone to lead us. You remember what David of old, the king of Israel said? The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want. He leads me by still waters. You remember David, the king of Israel, knew that God is the shepherd of Israel. And beloved brothers and sisters, here is the true shepherd of Israel, Yeshua the Messiah, who cared for the sheep. He said in John 10, you remember the good shepherd laid down his life for the sheep. He's the good shepherd. And so we find out that he's saying because they were as sheep having no shepherd, he had compassion on them.

Oh, thank God for the compassion of the Lord, Yeshua the Messiah. And so we read as we move along here after verse 34, you will notice what he did. He taught them. Verse 34b at the end. He began to teach them many things. You notice, brothers and sisters, sheep need to be taught. God's people need to be taught. Why? Because the teaching of the word of God gives us instruction, gives us direction. Paul said to Timothy, study to show yourself a prove unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. We need to be taught from the word. And so he teached them.

And he later on sent the apostles, the shlichim, to teach the people. And you and I today need those whom God will raise in our midst to teach us the word of God. So we will know. So we will be instructed by the word of the Lord. Now from verse 35 on to verse 44, not only that he taught the multitude, the flock that was without a shepherd, he now feed the people, the multitude that were there in a miraculous way. It says in verse 35 and verse 36 of Mark chapter 6, he said that the disciples requested that now, okay, the time has come. Send the people away. Notice that we read, when the day was far spent and his disciples came unto him and they said, this is a desert place.

And now the time is far past. Send them away that they may go into the country round about and into the villages and buy themselves bread because they have nothing to eat. See, the disciples, you can see that just like you and I. Okay, the time has passed. It's too late. Send them away. But that was not the heart of the Lord to send them away. What's going to happen? Are they going to be taken care of? Will their need be met? Will their need be met? And so you notice that immediately in the next verses, in verses 37 and 38, Yeshua is instructing his disciples to provide for the people in the land of the Galil there, around the Kinneret there.

And you notice how beautiful we read in verse 37. He answered and he said unto them, give ye them to eat. You give them to eat. So they said unto him, shall we go and buy 200 penny worth of bread and give them to eat? In other words, we have 200 dinar or penny worth. What can we buy with these 200 penny worth in order to provide for so many people that followed after you? Should we go and buy? Well, he told them, you give them to eat. Now, of course, he was testing the disciples. He really wanted to show them that he's able to meet the needs of those multitudes that follow after him.

And so after they said to him, what are we going to buy? You might say 200 shekel. Can we buy 200 shekel food enough to feed so many people? He knew very well that it doesn't matter 200 shekel, whatever you're going to buy, you'll never be able to feed so many people. But he was going to perform a miracle. A miracle that will prove that he's much more than just an ordinary man because he's God, the son who became a man. And he's going to become the provider of the people. So we find out, he said unto them, how many loaves do you have here? You go and see.

How many loaves of bread do you have? So they went to sea and they found out that they have only five loaves of bread and two fishes. And if you, beloved brothers and sisters, if you read other passages, like in the Gospel of John in chapter 6, they will find out that they say, what is it among so many people? Five loaves and two fish. Now I'm telling you, you go to the bakery here and you will buy five loaves right here behind us and get in another place, two fish. And you will see how many people you will be able to feed. Not too many people.

And so we find out that he wanted to test them. And by the way, if you read the Gospel of John in John 6 verses 8 and 9, you will find out that even these five loaves and two fishes were given to the disciples by a boy. That his mother sent him a lunch to eat. And on the way he saw the multitude following Yeshua the Messiah and he followed after them. And he was willing to give all that he had. Five loaves, two fishes. Sometimes we call him the boy that gave his all. He believed in Yeshua. He said, I'm giving, here is my five loaves and two fishes that my mother had given to me.

Here is what I'm willing to contribute in order to feed the multitude of the people. But five loaves and two fishes will never meet the need of such a great multitude. So our blessed Lord Yeshua the Messiah, in the next verses, verse 39 and 40 of Mark chapter 6, he asked, he commended the disciples to cause everyone to sit down. Sit down. He's going to perform a miracle right now. And so we read he commended them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass. Now here's another thing, beloved brothers and sisters. If it is a desert place, how come you have green grass? Now the lesson is a spiritual lesson here.

That even in the desert, even in a deserted place, God is able to furnish a table for his people. Remember what David said, he prepares a table before me, before all my enemies. The Lord is able to meet the need of God's people if they only trust in him. If they only be willing to follow after him, he is able to provide a green pasture by still waters to lead his people and to provide for them along the way. So he asked them, make the people to sit there by companies, verse 39, verse 40. They all sit down in ranks by hundreds and by 50. A group of hundreds, groups of 50, they are all sitting down.

And they are all waiting to see what he's going to do. Now the Lord Jesus, the Lord Yeshua, teaching us a great thing here. That he's much more than just a man, beloved brothers and sisters. You see, if Yeshua was only a man, he could have never become our Mashiach, our Savior and our Lord. He must be more than just another man. And so we read here in the next verses, dear brothers and sisters, verse 41 and 42, how he blessed the bread. And how he broke the bread. And how he gave the bread to their disciples. And how they feed the multitude of the people there in the Galil.

What is that beautiful. Verse 41, when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes. Notice how he's looking up into heaven. You know, usually people tell us when you want to pray, you close your eyes, put your head down and fold your hands. In scripture we learn the opposite. Open your eyes, lift your hands up to heaven and look to the God of glory. And you notice what he does. He looks up to heaven. He's looking up to God the Father. And as a servant, as a man in obedience to God, he prays. And he blessed. And he break the loaves. And he gave it to his disciples.

And he set it before them. And also the two fish, he divide among them all. And you notice, beloved brothers and sisters, he said, And they all did eat. And they were all filled. How is it possible? How in the world is it possible to take five small loaves of bread and two small fishes and to fill everyone's need to the full? How is it possible? Well, it is only possible because who he is. He's the creator. As he gives, there is more come. As he gives more bread, there is more bread. The same bread never seems to be diminished. As he gives the pieces of the fish.

There is more fish coming along with it. And he handed it over to the disciples. And they are handing it over to the people. And in turn, everybody is filled. And their needs are met. Now, you and I might say, that's not possible. Are you crazy? Are you out of your mind? Like the people of old said, It's not possible that God opened the Red Sea to the people of Israel when they came out of Egypt. How can you open the Red Sea? As in the time of Noah, God judged the world with the flood. And the whole world died. And only eight souls remained with Noah and his family.

People say it's not possible. When God said, let us make men in our own image, in our own likeness. And he took the ground and he formed Adam. It's not possible. You see, for unbelief, it's not possible. But for those who believe the word of God, it is possible. Because God is a creator. And he does all things according to his pleasure. And his word is indeed true. It is the word of God. If it is not the word of God, then we are all sitting here for no reason whatsoever. I am only telling you stories. And by you believing those human stories, if they are human stories, you are fooled.

You are not wise. But a wise man build his house upon the rock. The wise man believe God and believe his word. And accept the fact that we are creatures of God. We are made in the image and likeness of God. And it is God who provides for us everything. In him we live and move and have our being the very breath that you and I are taking today. It is because God gave it to us. Because he can shut it in a moment. And he can take it away from us. And thank God that he had given us life. And he noticed it. It says here in the next verses.

Notice verse 43 and 44. We learn immediately that he is much more than just another man. Because the multitude that were fed were so many. It says in verse 43. They took up 12 baskets full of leftover fragments. And of the fish as well. And then he said. And they that did eat the loaves were about 5,000 men. Read Matthew 14 verse 21. It says beside women and children. If every one of them had a wife. Let's assume there would be 10,000. And maybe they had a few children with them. It will be 20,000. If you wish. I'm amazed at this. I'm really amazed. He fed them all. He met their needs. Now again beloved brothers and sisters.

This is only show to us. That he is much more than just a man. The beginning of the Gospel of Yeshua. The Messiah. The Son of God. Mark 1 and verse 1. He is the Son of God. He is God the Son. He is a creator. He can speak. And he can bring something to exist. Because he is a divine person. That's why. We learn from Mark. Of him. These events. That happen. And so let's just quickly move along. To the next event. From verse 45. To the end of the chapter. Not only did Yeshua care for the needs of the people. And met their needs. But he also.

Verses 45 to 56. Yeshua walking on the sea. And calming the wind. And calming the sea. On behalf of his disciples. And so we read. In verse 45. In verse 46. Yeshua sent his disciples away now. Again to depart away. And so we read here. Straight away. He constrained his disciples. To get into a ship. And go to the other side. Before unto Bethsaida. While he sent the people away. He still wanted to give the disciples some rest. Because they were working so hard. He says go, go. Go to the other side. Unto Bethsaida. And then he says. I will send them away. And so he sent the people away.

According to verse 46. And he departed into a mountain. To pray. Now that is again. Something that puzzled me. And yet it's so real. You and I might say. Well he doesn't need to pray. We need to pray. But he's God the son. Why does he need to pray? Well let me remind you. That as a man. He showed a complete. Dependent upon God. And he prayed. To pray means to commune with God. Something that you and I. Find it many times. Very hard to take the time. To pray. Instead of praying. We lift up the phone. And talk to this person. Instead of praying. We do everything else.

To try to fix our own problems. But here is a man. That took the time to pray. In fact. According to Mark. Chapter 1. And verse 35. In the morning. Rising up. A great while before day. He. That is Yeshua. Went out. And he departed. Into a solitary place. And there he prayed. He was a man of prayer. Is a man. That is speaking. To God. And communing with his father. On a regular basis. Beloved brothers and sisters. And I am. Encouraging you. And encouraging myself. To take the time. To pray. There are so many needs. That we have. To pray for our wives. And our husbands.

And our children. And our family. And our health. And our friends. Friends. A prayer. Is essential. We look at the history. Of our people. Israel. You find the men. And women of God. Praying. Speaking to God. Telling him. Their problems. Their needs. Praying for the people. Of Israel. Praying for the world. Around them. Daniel. Prayed. And I can tell you all. Abraham. And Isaac. And Jacob. They were men of prayer. Yeshua. Yeshua is the greatest example. He sent the disciples away. Towards Bet Saida. By the way. Bet Saida. Means the house. Of fishing. It's a locality. It's a town. That is. Today. Right there. By the Sea of Galilee.

The house. Bet. Is a house. Saida. Or Saida. Is where you fish. Or you hunt. That is the name. Of this place. So he's sending them away. To Bet Saida. He sent. The people away. And then. When he sent them all away. He departed. And to the mountain. To pray. It reminds me. Of a prayer. That he prayed. In the garden. Of Gatshmanim. Gatshmanim. Gatshmanim. Before he died. For the sin. Of this world. Remember what he says. Father. Abba. If it is possible. Take this cup. Away from me. But then he said. Nevertheless. Not my will. But thine be done. And he ultimately. Went to the cross.

To the shameful tree. Where he was. Punished. On your. And my behalf. Amazing. Person. Is Yeshua. The Messiah. And so. As he went. To that. To pray. He sent the disciples. To the other side. To Bet Saida. Here we learn. Another interesting. Event. That teaches us. A spiritual lesson. To go to the other side. Notice in verse 45. Go to the other side. Is a picture. Of the journey. That all of us have. Since we were born. Into this world. And since we. Those of us. Have accepted. Yeshua. The Messiah. We became. Sons and daughters of God. We are on a journey. We are going. To the other side.

And as we traveling. To the other side. There are many. Experiences. That we experience. In our lives. You know. Years ago. When I first. Became a believer. In Yeshua. As my. Mashiach. My Messiah. I thought. That my problems. Will be over. That everything. Going to go. Smooth. Sailing. But I found out. That it's not true. Because we are part. Of this world. We are part. Of this groaning. Creation. There are many. Many trials. In our lives. And even though. We are believers. We are secure. We're going to get. To the other side. We're going to get. To glory. To heaven. Yet. On the way. There are many.

Many trials. That the Lord. Allowed us. To experience. And so. Here's a trial. That he allowed. The disciples. To experience. In the next verses. Verse 47. And 48. After he prayed. On a mountain. Where the disciples. Were traveling. To the other side. Look what happened. When. The evening was come. The ship. Was in the midst. Of the sea. And he alone. Was on the land. And he saw them. Toiling. Rowing. For the wind. Was contrary. Unto them. Notice that brothers. And sisters. He sent them. To the other side. He is there. On a mountain. And he can see them. Down from above. You know. That reminds me.

That the Lord. See. Everything. That is going on. In our lives. He knows everything. The good things. And the bad things. The things. That are pleasing. To him. That we do. And the things. That are not so pleasing. To him. But he also knows. Our trials. He is there. On a mountain. You can just imagine. If you ever visited. Israel. You can go on the mountains. And you can see. From the mountain. The Kineret. The Hebrew word. Is Kineret. The Kineret. Is a name. That was given. To this sea. It's actually a lake. Because it is in a shape. Of a Kino. Of a violin.

And so. That is the name. That was given to him. He is from the mountain. From the hill. Praying. And then he is looking down. And you see. The disciples. Crossing. Towards Beth. Tsaida. And lo and behold. The wind. Was contrary. It didn't go. Smooth sailing. The wind. Is against them. According to these verses. In verse 47. And 48. Notice. It says. He saw them. Toiling. They were fishermen. They were toiling. In rowing. And the wind. Was contrary. Unto them. Amazing. Beloved. Brothers and sisters. That remind us. When the wind. Is contrary. That things. In life. Not going to be. Always easy. Easy. Sometimes. The winds. Of trials.

And problems. Will cross. Our way. We'll try. To fix them. And we'll try. To toil. As much as possible. No, no. I'm going to fix this. And they needed. To turn. To God. For help. But the Lord. Saw everything. He allowed. This to happen. Purposely. In order that. He will eventually. Help them. And that they will sense. That God. Never leave them. He's always. Willing to help them. As they're crossing. To the other side. If you're like me. When problems. Come my way. The human nature. Initially. Try to fix. That problem. On my own. Rather than turning. First of all. To the Lord. And say.

Lord help me. I do not know. How to handle. The situation. And so. As they were toiling. Notice that. How beautiful. It says. In the next. Part. Of this. Verse. It says. Verse 48. In about. The fourth. Watch. Of the night. He cometh unto them. Walking. Upon. The sea. And would have. Passed. Them by. Notice. This expression. The fourth. Watch. Of the night. This is the way. The Romans. Divided. The watches. The watches. There were guards. Who were guarding. At night. The first watch. The second watch. The third watch. The third watch. The fourth watch. And the watches. Of the night. Began from sundown. About six o'clock.

And ended in. Sunrise. At about six a.m. So the fourth watch. Of the night. Will be between. Three a.m. And six a.m. In Jewish. Biblical. Division. Of the night. Is actually. Three watches. Of the night. And three watches. Of the day. Morning. Evening. And at noon. noon. But by that time. Apparently. The people of Israel. Have adopted. The Romans way. Of the fourth watch. Of the night. And what we learn here. That the last moment. You might say. The whole evening. They were. Feeling. And they were trying. Trying to fix. Their problem. And just. At the last moment. Lo and behold. Yeshua.

Is coming by. And you notice. According to this verse. It says. That he was. Walking. Upon. The sea. Beloved. Brothers. And sisters. Have you tried. To walk. Upon. The water. Anyplace. You know. When we take. Groups. To Israel. Twice a year. We go on the Sea of Galilee. And just. For the fun of it. We ask somebody. If they want. To try. To walk. On the water. You will put. Your foot. On the water. And you will begin. To sink. Because no one. Can walk. On the sea. There was only. One man. Who can walk. On the sea. And his name. Is Yeshua. He can walk.

Upon. The sea. Because he's. The creator. Of the sea. He's the creator. Of heaven. And earth. In Psalm. 77. We find out. Many verses. How Israel. Our people. Of all. Praise God. Who is the one. That is. Controlling. The sea. Controlling. The waters. And Yeshua. Is walking. Upon. Notice it. Walking. Upon. The sea. In the gospel. Of Matthew. When Peter. Saw him. Walking. Upon. Walking. Upon. The sea. He says. Lord. If it is you. Call me. That I will walk. Towards you. And the Lord. Said to him. Come. And if you remember. When you have time. Read that passage. As long that he looked at the face of Yeshua, he could walk on the water.

But the moment he looked at the trouble around, at the waves and the storms and the wind, he began to sink. But thank God Yeshua lifted him up. He said, save me, help me. And Yeshua lifted him up and he said to him, oh thou of little faith. Well, he had little faith, but it was more than all the other disciples. Who stayed in the boat. But Peter walked on the water as long that his eyes were focused on Yeshua. And so you notice that he was going as if he was going on, continuing on, passing them by. And when they saw him walking on the sea, verse 49, they supposed that it was being a spirit and they cried out, help us, help us.

And they were afraid. And so we read in the next verses that Yeshua is calming the sea there, calming the lake there. It says here, and when they all saw him, they were troubled. And immediately, verse 50, he talked with them. And he says unto them, be of good cheer. It is I, be not afraid. You notice that he came towards them. He was calming them. He says, it is I. I am not a spirit. I am not some sort of spirit being. I am the Mashiach, the Messiah. And the next verse tells us, he went up unto them, into the ship. And immediately, verse 51, the wind seized.

And they were so amazed in themselves beyond measure. And they wondered. So, beloved brothers and sisters, we learn from this verse that Yeshua, the Messiah, is in control over whatever is going on here in this world. He is the one of whom we read, for thou has with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph, Selah. The waters saw thee. O God, the waters saw thee. They were afraid. The depths also were troubled. The cloud poured out waters. The skies sent out a sound. Thine arrows also went abroad. And here we learn from Psalm 77, verse 15, 16, and 17, that even the sea and the waters were under the control of the God of Israel, who came down to this world in a person of the Son, who became the Mashiach, the Messiah, the Redeemer of mankind.

Now, let me quickly conclude with this sixth chapter in verses 53 to verse 56. These are the last verses. Here we find out how Yeshua now healing many who came to Him, who only touched His tzitzit, who touched, you might say, the corner of His garment. He healed the multitude who came, who had a great, great need. And so I'm reading those last verses, verses 53 to the end of the chapter. When they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennetzeret. It should be actually also Kinneret. Gennetzeret is the Grecian way of saying Kinneret in the Hebrew language. They came into the land of Gennetzeret, and they drew to the shore, and when they were come out of the ship straightway, they knew Him.

And they ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, and those where they heard that He was. And whithersoever He entered into a village, or a city, or country, they laid the sick in the street, and they besought Him that they might touch. Notice that, beloved brothers and sisters? That they might touch, if it were, but the border of His garment. That's the tzitzit that God had required our people of Israel of old, in Numbers chapter 15, to wear this border on the corner of the garment, those blue and white tzitziot, which they only touched it.

And you notice what it says in verse 56 at the end. As many as touched Him, they were healed, they were made whole. Now, how is it possible, beloved brothers and sisters, unless He was just an ordinary man? But He was God the Son, the Son of God, the Mashiach of Israel, the Savior of this world, who came down from heaven in order to seek and to save them which were lost. And I hope today, as this meditation was set before us, I hope that all of us be encouraged to continue to follow Yeshua, the Messiah. And if one does not know that He is our Messiah, our prayer, is that we will search the Scripture, the Hebrew Bible, and find out if the Messiah will come, who He will be, what He will be, what He will do, what He will accomplish.

And you will find out that indeed this man, His name is Yeshua, is truly the Messiah of Israel and the Savior of this world. Well, beloved brothers and sisters, may the Lord bless His Word. Can we say amen to that?
