Shabbat Shalom, everyone. Please open your Bibles to the 15th chapter of the Gospel of Mark, and the 16th as well. Perhaps today will be the last message on the Gospel of Mark, and the message today is really about the burial, resurrection, and commission of Yeshua the Messiah, beginning from Mark 15, verse 42 into Mark 16 and verse 20.

And so I'm reading: "Now when the evening was come, because it was the preparation, that is the day before the Shabbat, Yosef of Armathia, an honorable counselor which also waited for the kingdom of God came and went in boldly unto Pilate and craved the body of Yeshua and Pilate marveled if he were already dead and calling unto him the centurion he asked him whether he had been any while dead and when he knew it of the centurion he gave the body to Yosef he bought a fine linen and took him down and wrapped him in the linen and laid him in a sepulcher which was hewn out of a rock and rolled a stone unto

the door of the sepulcher and Miriam Magdalene and Miriam the mother of Joseph beheld where he was laid chapter 16 and when the Shabbat was passed Miriam Magdalene and Miriam the mother of James and Shlomit had brought sweet spices that they might come and anoint him and very early in the morning the first day of the week they came unto the sepulcher at the rising of the sun and they said among themselves who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulcher and when they looked they saw that the stone was rolled away for it was very great and entering into the sepulcher they saw a young man sitting on the right

side clothed in a long white garment and they were frightened and he said unto them be not a frightened ye seek Yeshua of Nazareth which was crucified he is risen he is not here behold the place where they laid him but go your way tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee there shall ye see him as he said unto you and they went out quickly and fled from the sepulcher for they trembled and were amazed neither said they anything to any man for they were afraid now when Yeshua was risen early the first day of the week he appeared first unto Miriam Magdalene out of whom he had cast seven

demons and she went and told them that had been with him as they moan and wept and they when they had heard that he was alive and had been seen of her believe not after that he appeared in another form unto two of them as they walked and went into the country and they went and told it unto the residue neither believed they them afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat and upraided them with their with their unbelief and hardness of heart because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen and he said unto them go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every

creature he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved but he that believeth not shall be damned and these signs shall follow them that believe in my name shall they cast out demons they shall speak with new tongues they shall take up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover so then after the Lord had spoken unto them he was received up into heaven and sat on the right hand of God and they went forth and preached everywhere the Lord working with them and confirming the word with signs following amen that's how the gospel of Mark is ending with

the word amen what wonderful may it be so Hebrew word amen every time we say amen we really say may it be so now the passage that we read brothers and sisters is really the last portion of the gospel of Mark which again and again present before us the Lord Yeshua Jesus the Messiah as the servant of Jehovah the servant of the Lord in Hebrew he is called in Isaiah 42 Eved Yehovah the servant of the Lord wonderful this gospel of Mark because the Lord is being presented before us not only as the king in the gospel of Matthew not only as a perfect man in the gospel of Luke not only as the eternal

son of God in the gospel of John but he is presented as a servant and what God wanted he wanted someone to be his servant to restore Israel to restore the world that fell into sin and departed from his way beginning with the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden and so he sent his son wonderful to know that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth on him shall not perish but have everlasting life and so indeed the Messiah came and you notice that we began the gospel of Mark we have seen the genealogy of Yeshua the Messiah is not presented in Matthew his

genealogy is presented because if he is the king of Israel let's see who he was born to and his genealogy make him qualified to be the king of Israel in Luke we also have a genealogy that takes us all the way to Adam and this genealogy shows us that if the Messiah is going to come to this world to serve sinful men he must be man himself he is a descendant of Adam but he is sinless because he was born to the virgin Miriam who never knew a man and he was born in a miraculous way but in Mark he does not give us any genealogy about Yeshua the Messiah because a servant nobody care

about his genealogy whether he has some kind of a great background what one care that he does the job and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah is presented as a slave as a servant that came to accomplish redemption and so as we arrive here to the last portion of the gospel of Mark we have already seen in a previous ministry that he suffered on that Roman cross where everyone was against Yeshua the Messiah as we have seen it in the previous meeting together the religious leaders have denied him the malefactors had railed at him the passers-by have mocked him the Roman soldiers have nailed him to the cross everyone was against Yeshua the Messiah and eventually

he was crucified and God himself had to reject him because God had to lay upon him the iniquities of us all and so beloved brothers and sisters the last thought that we had before us in Mark chapter 15 in verse 37 Yeshua cried with a loud voice and he gave up the spirit he died what a shameful death he died lifted up between heaven and earth positioned between two thieves mocked by men crown of thorns over his head his feet and his hands are nailed and peeled through and there he is situated on a shameful cross and he died and you remember he says Elohi Elohi lama shvaktani that is to say my God my

God why hast thou forsaken me I see if they forsake me I can understand it but God why you have forsaken me and as we read in Psalm 22 we understand that because the psalmist of Israel prophetically said but thou art holy thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel God is holy sin has to be judged in order for sinners to be able to receive forgiveness of sin and now as we have mentioned it he died as a substitute not for his own sins he had none but he died for you and for me because we have many and because we are born in sin we have a sin nature he had to die as

a substitute the just for the unjust and so you remember when we left last time the centurion and when he heard the cry of Yeshua the Messiah he said truly this man was the son of God somehow by divine revelation God opened the hearts of the centurion that helped the soldiers to nail him to the cross and to pierce him through somehow by divine design God gloriously saved this man is the son of God the thief on the other side of the cross which we have read in Luke chapter 23 he says Lord remember me when you come into your kingdom he got saved he accepted the Messiah and so he died and now where

we read today from verse 42 of Mark chapter 15 we see in those last six verses the burial of Yeshua the Messiah and we can see how by the direction of the Spirit of God as Isaiah said years earlier prophetically about the Messiah in Isaiah 53 and verse 9 he said he made his grave with the wicked and with the rich in his death in other words Isaiah was predicting that when the Messiah will be pierced and die when he will be placed in a grave God will make his grave with the wicked but not as he continues and with the rich in his death in other words he will die eventually and his grave

will be belong to one who is well to do and rich and so we read now in verses 42 to 47 these words and it began with verse 42 it says now when the even was come because it was the preparation that is the day before the Shabbat now I want to pause here just for a moment because this is a very difficult verse to understand because there are so many times in the Gospels actually six times you find in Matthew Mark and Luke and John the word the preparation preparation if you read the Hebrew text it doesn't use the word the preparation it used the word Erev Shabbat the eve of the Shabbat because

it is used by our people as a time to prepare for the coming of the Shabbat or the coming of a high holiday Shabbat the English use the word the preparation in the Greek it says Paras Kua which simply means in Hebrew Erev Shabbat the eve of the Shabbat at some point it can be called the eve of the high holiday of Shabbat in another time it is the eve of the weekly Shabbat you and I when we live here in North America we call the day before the Shabbat Friday but in the Bible the word Friday is not mentioned because all those names that are given to the Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday these unbiblical

names were given in those days it derived from a pagan world from the names of planets in Hellenistic astrology and they name after deities you never find in the Bible the word Sunday the day that belonged to the sun or Monday the day that belonged to the moon all these planets in Hellenistic astrology became gods and idolatries idol worship really in Hebrew in Hebrew in Hebrew we have first day second day third day fourth day fifth day sixth day and the only day in the Bible that has a name is the seventh is the seventh is the seventh day and the Bible the Hebrew scripture called it Shabbat now of course we living in North

America in the secular world of today those days have names so Shabbat become Saturday the day that belonged to Saturn this the Roman god now it is very interesting when you look at this but in scripture and even in this text here it only said the day before the Shabbat it doesn't give you the name but we know that it is the sixth day because the Shabbat is the seventh day but let me add another thing that is very very important because for myself in my search to find out the Lord's wisdom on this to remind you that in the Hebrew scripture there is also what is known to be as a high Shabbat we

call Shabbat Shabbaton and these are usually the high holidays like for example Pesach which start on the 14th day of the month of Nisan become a high Shabbat so if Pesach Passover fall on Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday depending on the yearly cycle of the Hebrew calendar it become what you call it the preparation but it will not be the preparation only for the weekly Shabbat but for the high holiday Shabbat I want you to turn for a moment to John 19 verses 14 31 and 42 you have three times the very same word mentioned the preparation but it comes from the Hebrew Erev Shabbat but you notice that in John 19 14 what the scripture

says and it was the preparation the same word of the Passover and about the sixth hour and he said unto the Jews behold your king you notice this time it says it is the Passover preparation Erev Pesach the eve of Passover notice a little bit further on in verse 31 it gives you even further information verse 31 said the Jews therefore because it was the preparation again the word Erev Shabbat the preparation the eve of the Shabbat that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the Shabbat day and then it says for that Shabbat day was a high day besought Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken

away now you notice beloved brothers and sisters that particular Shabbat was more than just the ordinary weekly Shabbat but it was that high Shabbat as it says here Shabbat Shabbaton it was the Passover because to remind you that Yeshua had to die on the 14th day of the month of Nisan because he was going to fulfill fully what God had predicted concerning the death burial and resurrection of the Messiah so not to mix you up but bear with me some believe that Yeshua actually did not die on what people call today Good Friday why why because Yeshua himself said in Matthew 12 verse 40 as Jonah was three days and three nights in the fish's

belly so shall the son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth and if it's a full day mean 24 hours he must be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights namely 72 hours so if you figure this out and you start to count back because he rose on the first day of the week and because the first day of the week Yom Harishon began already on Saturday evening which is after sundown go back you will find out that actually according to those who believe so and I'm inclined to understand that in this way that the Messiah actually died on Wednesday night remained three days

and three nights and rose on Saturday evening which is Sunday the first day of the week after sundown now you and I might be confused a little bit but others and good Bible teachers also teach that because in Jewish accounting many times Jewish people count part of a day as a full day therefore the three days and three nights meaning Friday Saturday Sunday and because of part of the day of Sunday part of the day of Friday that will make it three days as well but to tell you the truth these are good Bible teachers who know the scripture well teach both of these views and what makes it difficult because you use the word

the preparation and really the word preparation should really not be there if you take the word the preparation it should be the eve of the Shabbat and the word Friday is not mentioned at all simply the eve of the Shabbat so what we learn that sometimes the eve of the Shabbat apply to the weekly Shabbat meaning Friday and sometimes the eve of the Shabbat apply to the day before the high holiday began whether it is Pesach whether it is unleavened bread whether it is Pentecost Shavuot or whether it is the day of atonement or whether it be the feast of Sukkot every high holiday began with the eve of that high holiday which usually the

people of Israel prepare for that high special day now I don't want you to get mixed up you'll have to search it for yourself but it happened to be notice the preparation the day before the Shabbat according to Mark chapter 15 and verse 42 and notice what happened from verse 43 on here we find out a man by the name of Joseph Yosef in Hebrew notice Yosef of Armathia it's really Yosef Haramati Harama or Ramot is a location in Judea which is very near to the city of Jerusalem and this man by the name of Yosef he lived in Ramot or Ramataym if you look from the first Samuel you will notice that Samuel's father

Elkanah and Channah lived in Ramot in Ramataym and so Ramot was a location in the area of Jerusalem very close by so you notice Yosef of Ramataym he was an honorable man he was a consular he was actually part of the Sanhedrin he was also waiting for the kingdom of God he came and he went in boldly unto Pilate and he craved the body of Yeshua now apparently this man by the name of Yosef Haramati Joseph from Armathias he was actually a godly man he was part of the Sanhedrin he was a religious Jewish man part perhaps of the Pharisees and notice it says here he was waiting for the kingdom of God the Malchut

HaElohim he was waiting for the day when God had promised to the people of Israel the king is coming one day the Messiah will reign as a king but you see the one that he has anticipated to become the one who will rule in the kingdom now died they placed him on a cross they nailed him and they rejected him and so now what does he do because he was a disciple a follower of Yeshua the Messiah the least that he could do he wanted to take the body of Yeshua this holy body beloved brothers and sisters that never sinned he wanted to take that body and honor it by giving him a proper burial

and so he came to Pilate and he said to Pilate notice he used the word crave the body of Yeshua he wanted the body of Yeshua the Messiah that he will honor the Lord not only as he was honored by some who followed him in his life but to honor him now in his death and burial now apparently if you read the gospel of Matthew you will find out that Yosef was a well-to-do man in Matthew chapter 27 and verse 57 it was when the even was come there came a rich man he was a rich man fulfilling what Yeshayahu Isaiah the Hebrew prophet said 750 years before the Messiah came that his grave will

be with the rich and here's this rich man from Armathia from Ramot by the name of Yosef he was also a follower a disciple of Yeshua perhaps beloved brothers and sisters he was like Nicodemus who was who was a disciple of Yeshua but not publicly secret disciple because you know it will cost him to follow Yeshua like many of the early Hebrew Christian messianic Jewish people who suffered from their own brethren because they follow Yeshua the Messiah so we find out that he begged for the body of Yeshua Matthew 27 58 here we see he craved for the body of Yeshua he wanted to honor Yeshua in his death and so we read verses 44

Pilate was really amazed that Yeshua was already dead it says here Pilate was marveled if he were already dead then he called unto him the centurion and he asked him whether he had been any while dead and when he knew it of the centurion then he gave the body to Yosef now why was he marveled that Yeshua was already dead because sometimes even those who were crucified were hanging on the shameful Roman cross they could somehow heavily breathe as they pushed themselves up even though their hands and their feet were nailed they were pushing they could breathe for a little while but they could stay a little bit longer that's why by the way the

two other malefactors they had to break their femur bone in order to cause them to die but Yeshua did not need to die by breaking his bones because the Bible had to be fulfilled that none of his bone will be broken he gave himself you remember he said in John 10 no man take us my life for him I lay it down that I might take it again no man this command I receive of my father and we read here in Mark 15 verse 37 that he himself gave up the spirit so Pilate marveled is he dead already how is it possible so when he found out that he was already dead through the centurion

here he gave to Yosef the body and Yosef haramati from armataim he was a gracious godly man he was like all the others he was like Simon Shimon he was like Hannah Luke 2 he was like Nicodemus he was like many of our own Jewish people that did believe that he was the Messiah even though they were in the minority but those early Jewish believers are the one that gave us what we have today in our hands the scripture the word of God that was entirely written by Jewish people perhaps the exception of Luke who was actually a doctor and perhaps he was the one who converted to Judaism but the word of God that

we have in our hands was given to us by these godly men the early disciples who follow Yeshua the Messiah and we see here the commitment of this man by the name of Yosef Haramati and so he took him and notice what he did in verse 46 and 47 notice he bought a fine linen he took the body down from the tree he wrapped Yeshua with this linen according to the Jewish way of burial and then he laid him in a sepulcher and that particular sepulcher beloved brothers and sisters it's a grave that is cut out of the rock if you ever visited our city of Yerushalayim in the land of Israel we always take

those that come with us to the sepulcher to the location where most believe that Yeshua the Messiah was placed when he died and what yourself have done here he was fulfilling Isaiah 53 and verse 9 as it says here he made his grave with the wicked because all have sinned but with the rich in his death and Matthew 27 this rich wealthy man by the name of yourself took graciously the body of the Lord and look at the treatment took linen bought it took Yeshua down from the cross and carefully wrapped Yeshua with the linen and eventually laid him in the grave and it's important to read together all the Gospels in order to have

a larger understanding but if you will notice in the Gospel of John Nicodemus helped him and according to John 19 and verse 39 and there came also Nicodemus which that first came to Yeshua by night and he brought with him a mixture of myrrh and aloes about a hundred pounds of weight and then they took the body of Yeshua and wound it in linen clothes with the spices as the manner of the Jews is to bury and then they placed him and it says here in verse 41 now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden and in the garden a new sepulcher wherein was never man yet laid there laid they

Yeshua because of the Jews preparation day for the sepulcher was nigh at hand so how gracious was this man by the name of Yosef my grandfather's name was Yosef the wonderful name God will add the blessing and God have indeed added the blessing to this man by the name of Joseph Yosef of Ramoth who graciously and kindly took the body and lay it in his very own tomb because of his love for the Lord can you imagine to give your very own grave for the Messiah that must have cost him enormous amount of money but graciously to give it for Yeshua Jesus the Messiah to lay him and to give him an honorable burial and

you know brothers and sisters we don't read of any procession we don't read of a great large funeral we don't read of hundreds and thousands of people who follow after the casket we only see two men who were secret believers who took the body of Yeshua from the cross from the shameful tree bound it with linen put perfume on it in a manner that our own Jewish people bury people and placed him in a tomb in a sepulcher you know Yeshua as it says foxes of holes the birds of the air have nests but the son of man have nowhere to lay his head he had nothing here in this world everything he received of

course he received from men and women who loved him and out of appreciation of who he was they served him he himself though the creator of the universe yet as men he was a man of sorrows and the day that he died he finished the work of redemption and these gracious men have placed him in the tomb so we read of his crucifixion and death in Mark chapter 15 earlier we read just now in verses 42 to 47 of his burial but had he remained in the tomb he would be so called a dead savior but God was so satisfied with his work do you think he's going to leave the messiah in the tomb

that's why we have the whole 16th chapter of the gospel of Mark to show us that God's pleasure with the work of the messiah of israel the savior of this world of his very own son God has now raised him from among the dead and situated him in the pinnacle of the universe and so beloved brothers and sisters in the first six verses of Mark chapter 16 we see the empty tomb and the risen messiah the risen lord and so it says here in verse 1 and 2 the shabbat was passed now here you notice that when the shabbat was passed Mary Magdalene or Miriam from Magdala and Miriam the mother of Yaakov and Salome

in Hebrew Shlomid had brought sweet spices that they might come to anoint him and very early in the morning of the first day of the week they came unto the sepulcher at the rising of the sun now again I would like to mention that the first day of the week does not become in the morning but it began in the evening after sundown so when the messiah rose he actually rose on Shabbat evening which is the first day of the week after sundown on the evening he was already risen but by the time that these women have arrived to the sepulcher we find out here I'm reading verse 1 when the Shabbat was passed when

the Shabbat passed Saturday after sundown the Shabbat is passed Miriam Magdalene Miriam the mother of Yaakov and Shlomid brought the sweet spices that they might come and to anoint him and very early in the morning the first day of the week they came unto the sepulcher at the rising of the sun in other words the whole evening passed by from 6 p.m.

till midnight and then from midnight till the rising of the sun perhaps 6 o'clock in the morning twelve armies passed by they are coming on the morning of the first day of the week but he rose already in the earlier part of the first day of the week by the time they come they are saying in verses 3 and 4 who will roll away the stone from the sepulcher and as they questioning and wondering it says here in verse 3 when they looked and they saw verse 4 that the stone was already rolled away for it was great stone a large stone and you know you have a sepulcher and you have that stone rolled

away there's a channel where they will roll the stone against the huge hole there but no one could just move it just like that you have to be many individuals to be able to roll away the stone but we have to understand that the rolling of the stone was not for Yeshua to come out it's for the people to come in because Yeshua was already resurrected long before these women came you remember we read in John 20 after his resurrection he went through doors he had a glorified body suitable for eternity he had as men a glorified body which you and I will receive in a future day we will receive bodies that will be

glorified suitable for the presence of God but he was not there he was already resurrected so when they were wondering verses 3 and 4 who will roll the stone away from the sepulcher then they immediately verse 4 discovered that looking they saw that the stone was rolled away and God is so gracious in his provision that he wanted that they will come in and they will see that the Messiah is no longer there because he has already said that he will rise from the dead now brothers and sisters go with me to Isaiah 53 the prophet himself predicted the resurrection of the Messiah if the Mashiach is going to come and live a perfect life

and die a substitutionary death will he remain in a grave no because if he will remain in a grave that means that he had not finished what God have sent him to this world for so Isaiah 53 and verse 10 it says yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him he has put him to grief and now notice the second half of this verse when you shall make his soul an offering for sin then what's going to happen he said he shall see his seed he shall prolong his days in other words once Yeshua the Messiah paid for the sin of this world God had prolonged his day that he will see the fruit of

the travel of his soul in other words the Messiah was never to remain in the tomb except for those three days and three nights and then to rise from among the dead and so we read here that he was no longer there in the very same gospel of Mark in chapter 8 and verse 31 Yeshua have already told them in verse 31 he began to teach them that the son of man must suffer many things and be rejected of the elders and of the chief priest and of the scribe and be killed and after three days rise again he predicted his resurrection his death burial resurrection he predicted this again and again throughout the gospels

so these women are coming what do they find that Yeshua was no longer in the grave in the sepulcher but notice even verses 5 and 6 of Mark chapter 16 we find out that they entered into the sepulcher and what do they see they say a man who is actually an angel who declared to them that he is risen can you imagine they are coming they are wondering who will roll the stone away and they don't need to worry because someone has come in and as they go in they saw a young man sitting on the right side closed in long white garments and there because they were afraid he said I have been many

times into this sepulcher in Jerusalem entering in our groups usually go in to see the sepulcher and you can clearly see the location where they place bodies there in olden days now some might say it may not be the very sepulcher this is fine but the Bible tells us that here is this man who is an angel show them come inside see here is where Yeshua once was laid but then he told them listen he is risen and that he is not here and Yeshua the Messiah rose from the dead brothers and sisters now again there is so much to say about their resurrection you see many people do not believe in their resurrection they

don't believe that one day we will all rise from among the dead the believers will rise into eternal life the unbelievers will rise only to be cast into the lake of fire but if there is no resurrection beloved brothers and sisters we have no hope in in fact Paul was very clear on that and he said in 1st corinthian chapter 15 verse 12 if the messiah be preached that he rose from the dead how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead Paul was challenging the believers in the city of Corinth he says we have already taught you you already know that the Mashiach will rise from the dead and then

he said 1st corinthian 15 verse 13 if there is no resurrection of the dead then the messiah is not risen and if the messiah is not risen then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain he continued in verse 15 of 1st corinthian 15 yeah and we have found false witnesses of god because we have testified that god had raised up christ the messiah whom he raised not if so be that the dead rise not and Shaul Paul continued and he said in verse 16 if the dead rise not then is not christ raised the messiah is not raised and if the messiah is not raised your faith is in vain and

ye all in your sins you see Paul was so strong about the truth of their resurrection and he was so convicted to share this with the believers in the city of Corinth because already early in church age many already rejected the truth of their resurrection and they didn't believe in the fact that there will be a day of resurrection you know beloved brothers and sisters God will raise everyone that belonged to Yeshua Messiah and will give us a glorified body suitable for his presence and we will enjoy the presence of the Lord for time and eternity but he will raise according to Revelation chapter 20 the unbelievers and they will be receiving also a body

that is raised not glorified body but they will have a body that spirit soul and body will be cast into the lake of fire because they rejected the Lord Yeshua the Messiah resurrection of the Messiah is essential if the Messiah was not risen then we are still in our sins and so the resurrection is really the token of God appreciation of the work of the Messiah as Paul says elsewhere in Romans chapter 4 verse 25 about Yeshua who was delivered for our offenses but he was raised for our justification the very fact that God can justify you and me is not because we are good and we have been obeying God all the time is

because we believed in Yeshua the Messiah who died who was buried and he rose for our justification that's the truth that the scripture teaches us very clearly and so you notice now in verse 7 and 8 the angel give a message to these women for the disciples and you notice what he said in verse 7 he says go your way tell his disciples and Peter that he goes before you into Galilee there shall ye see him as he said unto you and they went out quickly and fled from the sepulcher for they trembled and were amazed neither said they anything to any men for they were afraid now notice that what would you do if

you would have gone to a certain sepulcher because some dear one passed away and all of a sudden an angel is talking to you wouldn't you be afraid of course you would you wouldn't know what you would really need grace from the Lord so they were afraid because all of a sudden they were told that Yeshua the Messiah is not there and now this man who is angel if you read it in other passages in Matthew and Luke and John this particular angel tell them you go give a message to the disciples and to Peter and tell them that I'm going to see you there in Galilee as I have already told you before now

so beautiful because he singled Peter out Peter was a disciple he didn't need to add his name why did he add his name because in a previous chapter 14 Peter claimed that he will not deny the Lord and he said oh if everyone will deny you I will not deny you and the Lord Yeshua said to Shimon Petos before the cock will crow twice you will deny me three times and in the very same 14th chapter verse 66 to 72 Shimon Petos deny the Mashiach three times and then the rooster crew and he looked at the eyes of Yeshua and he went weeping because he knew he denied the Messiah but you see the Lord

is in a business of restoration it's so beautiful because when we fail the Lord and sin easily beset us and we turn away from him and we get discouraged and we go and we do other things and we sometimes have self confidence we trust in our own self and we think that we are going to be the only one who are going to be faithful and we find out that we haven't been as faithful as we promised the Lord is saying you go tell the disciples but you tell Peter and you remember Peter in John chapter 21 how he said to Shimon Petos loveth thou me more than thee and Shimon Petos says you know

I love you and the Lord said to him feed my sheep feed my flock feed my lamb and Peter was one that fed the early believers and preached the message of the gospel he was the apostle to the circumcision to the Jewish people and led many to come to know the Lord but sometimes if you feel that you are not right with the Lord and things are not right in your life in your relationship with the Lord what is the best thing to do is to turn back to Yeshua the Messiah he is restoring people to himself he is not only saving us but he restores you remember what David says he restores my soul

you remember Yonah Hanavi Jordan the prophet he restored God restored Yonah to himself so he became a servant that preached to Nineveh God want to restore his own people so go tell Peter not only the disciples specifically Shimon Petros I would like him to know that I have an appointment with him and I'm going to speak with him and I will encourage him and I will put him in a ministry so he can servant of the Lord restoration so now beloved brothers and sisters we know from elsewhere that they did say to the disciples they told them about the resurrection of Yeshua the Messiah but they didn't tell anybody else they were afraid because other

people would think what are you out of your mind how can a man rise from among the dead and how can this man Yeshua who claimed to be the Messiah rise from among the dead so they were amazed but eventually we find out that they understood the resurrection and that eventually they were saying this to the other disciples but now brothers and sisters in conclusion of this book of Mark from verse 9 to verse 20 we understand from those who teach us the word of God that in the vast majority of the ancient manuscript this portion of Mark chapter 16 verses 9 to 20 is not found that's why in some bibles you have it

in a small print and not part of the 16th chapter of the gospel of Mark but actually in other manuscripts and I think the second and third century it was found in some other manuscripts so some believe that it was part of the scriptures other believe that it's not just like somebody added it later on but when we see it we see it as part of the 16th chapter and because there is so much here to show us of some event that happened after after the resurrection of Yeshua the Messiah and the great commission which we know found in Matthew chapter 28 therefore it is by many taken to be part of that scripture of

Mark chapter 16 this is verse 9 to the end of the chapter to verse 20 so notice now in verses 9 10 11 first of all Yeshua after his resurrection is appearing to Miriam Mary of Magdala or Migdal it says here in verse 9 now when Yeshua was risen early the first day of the week he appeared first to Miriam Magdalene out of whom he had cast seven demons and she went and told them that had been with him as they mourned and wept you notice in verse 11 it says and they when they had heard that he was alive and had been seen of her they believe not now isn't it like us they

were told by Yeshua the Messiah that he will die that he will be buried and that he will be resurrected as we read it in other passages and earlier part of the gospel of Mark by the way it said Mary Magdalene it doesn't mean that this is her first name and last name her name Hebrew means a tower she was from a town nearby in Galilee that is Migdal a tower it was not her first name and her last name no there was no last name in those days she was the daughter of one father whose name we don't know but she was from a town called Migdal and so what happened she was the

first one can you imagine dear sisters the first person that have seen the risen messiah was a woman and this woman had seven demons before she came to faith in the messiah and he removed he cast away those seven demons from her she was demon possessed but Yeshua saved her and she fell in love with the lord as his servant if you read the gospel of john 20th chapter miriam was longing for the messiah john gives us more information john 20 verse 11 shows us how she loved the lord it says miriam stood without the sepulcher weeping and as she wept she stooped down and she looked into the sepulcher and she saw two angels

remember we said that the angel asked a woman why do you weep verse 13 of john 20 she said unto them because they have taken away my lord and I know not where they have laid him you see this woman by the name of miriam from migdal loved the messiah she understood that he was the messiah when she come to the sepulcher she doesn't find his body there and she said they have taken away my lord and when the lord was there and she didn't know that it was the lord she didn't see him at first she thought that he was the gardener she said do you know where they have taken my lord and

when he said to her miriam she immediately understood that it was the messiah and she wanted to grab him and to hug him and he said to her touch me not in John 20 verse 17 for I am not yet father and to my God and to your God she was the first woman the first person to see the risen messiah she went to the disciples as we read it in verses 9 10 and 11 she told them but when they heard what she said about the risen messiah the disciples did not believe like you and I we believe but we have a lot of unbelief then the second one to appear according to this

passage Mark 16 verses 12 and 13 was the two that went down to Emmaus we find it in Luke chapter 24 but here we read and after that he appeared in another form unto two of them as they walked and went into the country this is out of Jerusalem out of Jerusalem to the place called Emmaus according to Luke 24 13 and they in returning back to Jerusalem they came and told that the people remain in Jerusalem but notice he said neither did they believe even to them you know here those spiritual disciples gathering together in the upper room waiting for the Messiah to come and then Miriam come and said hey he's risen we

don't believe you the two was on the way to Emmaus they were turning back to Jerusalem and they say to the brethren hey beloved brethren we have seen him on the way to Emmaus they don't believe they are unbelievers they believe that he was the Messiah they are weeping according to him they are crying and mourning for him instead of rejoicing that he is resurrected they are weeping and mourning but apparently they don't believe so Yeshua now had to speak with them himself and so you notice in the verses 14 to 18 Yeshua thirdly appeared unto all the eleven and he rebuked them because of their unbelief it says in verse 14 afterwards he appeared

unto the eleven as they said to eat and abraded them in other words he rebuked them with their unbelief and the hardness of heart because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen you see what happened brothers and sisters these disciples still did not believe in the risen Messiah because it was really something that the spirit of God had to unfold to them you remember Thomas said unless I will put my hand through his side I will not believe Yeshua said to him on the next first day of the week when the believers gathered together he said Thomas put your hand into my side and see and Thomas did not even

dare to put his hands in he fell on his face and said my Lord Adoni and my God Elohi you are my Lord and you are my God but the Lord Yeshua said to him now that you see me and believe he said blessed are all they that even if they don't see yet believe faith in the person and the work of Messiah and by the way did you see the Lord did I see the Lord do you and I believe that he died once about 2000 years ago do we believe that his name is Yeshua do we believe the Bible the word of God without faith it is impossible to please God for he

that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is the rewarder of them that diligently seek him and so the conclusion of the gospel of Mark is really the commission of the Messiah now that he had been resurrected he finished the work of redemption he was crucified he died he was buried and he rose again he was seen by many now he gives commission to those early disciples now I want you to know that those early disciples are the foundation upon which you and I are reading today in the scripture according to Ephesians they are the foundation of the assembly Yeshua the Messiah is the chief cornerstone but they are the one

who were the foundation when you build a house they are in the beginning at the bottom and all the house fitly built together upon the foundation of the apostles and the prophets of first century and so we read here that he commended them now he says notice verse 15 to verse 18 notice the message of the commission is the gospel he beloved brothers and sisters here's the message the message is clear the gospel is simply that the Messiah died for our sins according to scripture he was buried and he rose again on the third day according to the Hebrew scriptures that's the gospel the besorah that God provided redemption go and tell it to all

people upon the face of this earth the gospel tell it to every creature that's why we are responsible to preach the sincere milk of the word the gospel for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life to all who believe in Yeshua the Messiah then notice not only that he gave permission in verse 15 in verse 16 he gives them the importance of believing that message every creature need to believe and so we read in verse 16 he he he that believes and is baptized shall be saved but he that believes not shall be them now many times

people make a mistake and they say you got to believe and be baptized because it says you believe and be baptized and be saved in other word if you are not baptized you are not saved well what about the thief on the cross he died he was not baptized baptism never saves us water baptism is simply an identification with one that you already believe on him who died he was buried and he rose again when we take a person we have baptism yesterday I was sitting for a visit with a brother in one of the coffee shops here one lady came and says listen my husband need to be baptized she was asking me to

speak with him so my husband need to be baptized in other words she would say yes he's a believer but he needs to be baptized but baptism doesn't save you can go in you are dry sinner and you come out you are wet sinner baptism baptism doesn't save water baptism is simply identification with the death and resurrection of the Messiah you know in the world today in the early church days specifically in the Roman church they baptized all the babies they thought that all these babies will make them Christians will put them in the water or sprinkle them and they will be saved listen salvation is simply by faith in Yeshua the Messiah there are

many people who think that they're going to get baptized and they're going to get saved they reject the Messiah but oh I was baptized I went into the water baptism well in Jewish life we had various washings diverse washing even John the baptizer baptized many of our Jewish people long before the Messiah died he baptized Yeshua the Messiah himself in the Jordan river according to the gospel of Matthew in the early portion of the gospel water baptism is simply identification when when you are going into the water and you come out of the water you identify with the death and burial and resurrection of Yeshua the Messiah but you must believe one must believe that

he is indeed the one that pays for sin and then in verses 17 and 18 he is giving them a promise that signs or taught in Hebrew will accompany their preaching of the gospel so he said these signs shall follow them that believe verse 17 in my name shall they cast out demons they shall speak in new tongue they shall take serpents and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover in other words five things he says to them in verse 17 and 18 signs that will accompany the preaching of the gospel in other words those signs will validate the truth

of the message people should not come only to see wow you know what I can touch a serpent and I will not die I will not be poisoned and oh you know what I can drink all sort of poison and I will not die and oh I can make miracles and I can heal the purpose of these signs were to validate the truth of the gospel remember they didn't have the gospel of Matthew Mark Luke and John the book of Acts and Romans in the first century they had to preach the message they didn't say to anyone turn to Matthew 1 and turn to Acts 17 and turn to Romans 5 no thus says the

Lord Yeshua the Messiah came to die for the sins of this world do you believe accept him and you will be saved and they accompany this message was the signs that God that the Lord gave them to accompany their message of the gospel those signs were not given for pleasing people just to go to a meeting for miracle meetings yes God is able to do everything but the signs were to accompany the preaching of the gospel of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah so the conclusion of the book of Mark in verses 19 and 20 the ascension of the Messiah that's how it's concluded and the preaching of the message he says then after the Lord

had spoken unto them he was received up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God doesn't it remind us of Psalm 110 and verse 1 until I make thine enemies thy footstool the promise was to the Messiah that he will sit at God's right hand the Lord said unto my Lord sit down at my right hand and how wonderful it it is that Yeshua the Messiah according to Acts chapter 1 was lifted up and the clouds took him out and he vanished out of their sight and the Bible tells us that he sat on the right hand of God you notice brothers and sisters while the gospel speak about Yeshua as a

servant it ends with the word Lord after the Lord had spoken unto them he was received up into heaven and he sat down at the right hand of God and noticed the same word Lord and they went forth preaching everywhere the Lord the Adon the Master the Lord working with them and confirming the word with signs following and the word Amen is to close the gospel of Mark you notice that twice the word Adon mentioned here Lord he now is not only a servant anymore like he did when he was here on earth but he is Lord every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ that Yeshua HaMashiach is Lord not

only a servant but he is Adon to the glory of God the Father and those that reject him today as the Lamb will have to face him in a future day as the lion of the tribe of Judah and they will have to bow their knees before him in a future day but praise God you and and I can bow before him today and say Lord we love you because you first loved us may the Lord bless his word you
