Shalom, my dear brothers and sisters and dear friends. It is a blessing for us to study together the Word of God, and especially to study together the Gospel of John, the Gospel of Yohanan. It is The beautiful Gospel, it is a very important Gospel because in this fourth Gospel found in the Brita Chadasha, in the New Covenant, we learn much about the person of Yeshua, Jesus, our Messiah, who presents himself to Israel and to all the nations of the world as the Eternal Son, the one that is the creator of the universe. As we have already began in the study of the gospel of John, in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.

All things were made by him, and without him nothing was made which was made. How wonderful it is to read these passages in John 1, verses 1, 2, and 3, and so on. And then, of course, in verse 14, And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Today, we are finding ourselves in John chapter 7. And we are going to continue from verse 14 all the way to verse 36. And so please follow me as I'm reading John chapter 7 and verse 14. Now in the midst of the feast, this is Sukkot, the Feast of Booth in Israel, Yeshua went up into the temple and taught.

And the Jews marveled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? Jesus answered and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God or whether I speak of myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory. But he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. Did not Moses give you the law, the Torah, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me? The people answering and said, Thou hast a demon, who goeth about to kill thee?

Yeshua answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel. Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision, not because it is of Moses, but of the father, and ye on the Shabbat day circumcise a man if a man on the Shabbat day receives circumcision that the law of Moses should not be broken are ye angry at me because I have made a man every whit hole on the Shabbat day judge not according to the appearance but judge righteous judgment then said some of them of jerusalem is not this he whom they seek to kill but lo he speaketh boldly and they say nothing unto him do the rulers know indeed that this is the very messiah christ or christos mashiach how bit we know this man whence he is but when messiah cometh no man knoweth whence he is then cried jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am, and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.

But I know him, for I am from him, and he has sent me. Then they sought to take him. But no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come and many of the people believed on him and said when christ when mashiach cometh will he do more miracles than these which this man has done the pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him and the pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him. Then said Yeshua unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and when I go unto him that sent me, ye shall seek me, and shall not find me, and where I am thither ye cannot come.

Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles and teach the Gentiles what manner of saying is this that he said ye shall seek me and shall not find me and where I am thither ye cannot come and beloved friend I'm going to stop here with this passage a John chapter 7 verse 14 to 36 as we study the gospel of John once and again we can see how it must have been so difficult for our people of all the people of Israel to recognize that Yeshua was a number one the messiah number two that he was divine and number three that he was one of the three persons of the godhead in fact we can admit today that this issue is a problem that everyone has today jewish or non-jewish all find this very challenging and very difficult to grasp and many reject the fact that Jesus is indeed a divine person and that Yeshua is indeed God the Son and that he is a co-equal with the Father and that he is indeed a divine person.

Well, you remember what Shaul Paul said in the Corinthians chapter 2 and verse 14, Shaul Paul said to the Corinthians, It is not even possible to any of us to know the truth concerning the person of our Lord Jesus the Messiah because the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God and actually as Shaul Paul said neither can he because it is spiritually a discernment we need the holy spirit of God in Hebrew Ruach Elohim the holy spirit of God to help us understand the things of God But nevertheless, there is a responsibility that one has to allow the scriptures to be presented before him or her and to allow the Spirit of God to work things out to help one to understand who Jesus, who Yeshua is.

Well, in chapter 7, the first 13 verses of our chapter, beloved friends, we have already learned in the first 13 verses that the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, came to the city of Yerushalayim at the feast of Sukkot, the feast of Booth. Initially, his brethren, namely the four brothers and the sisters that he had, half-brothers and sisters who were born unto miriam after the supernatural birth of yeshua the messiah they told him to go go to to judea with your disciples and to show to everyone the works that you are doing and then they told him neither he says no one does what you do in secret so do it so everyone can see you, show yourself to the world.

Even his own brethren did not believe on him, as we read in John chapter 7 and verse 5. Then we discover that after they have went to the Feast of Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernakal, later on we find out that eventually Jesus the Messiah went himself also unto the feast. And we remember that the Feast of Sukkot is at the fall season in the biblical Jewish calendar. And it is always come upon the, in the month of Tishrei, in the fall season, which is for the world, it's September, October. And on the 15th day of the month of Tishrei, the Feast of Sukkot is kept by our people, the people of Israel.

And we have learned that the time between John 6 and John 7 is about six months, because we read in John 6 verse 4, And the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh. So when Yeshua was in Jerusalem at the Feast of Passover, which is the 14th day of the month of Nisan in the spring season, March-April. So from chapter 6 to chapter 7, we have about six months that have passed by. From April till October. So March-April to September-October, some six months passed by. We don't read much about what happened in the Galil when Yeshua was in the north of Israel. He ministered to the people in Galilee. We don't read much in the Gospel of John what happened there.

But six months have passed by, and Yeshua is now in chapter 7 at the feast in Yerushalayim, back from the Galils to the city of Yerushalayim. And there he is now in the middle of the people of Israel in the temple, there in the middle of the feasts. And you remember in verses 11 and 12 and 13, we see that the Jewish leaders sought for him. And we find out that the people, some say that he's a good man, some others say that he's a deceiver. And we concluded in the previous ministry in verse 13, however, no man spake openly of him because of the fear of the Jews. You see, for the Jewish leaders, to remind you, whenever you read in the Gospel of John, the Jews, the Jews, it always has to do with the Jewish leaders, the spiritual leaders, the Pharisees, the Sadducees, the scribes.

They are the ones that oppose him. The rest of the Jewish people that we see here, the disciples, and the multitude, and Yeshua himself, all were part of the whole situation, but the opposition came from the spiritual leaders of Israel, who did not acknowledge the Messiahship of Yeshua.

So from verse 14 on, we find out now that the debate that have gone through in the city of Jerusalem in the temple when the Lord Jesus the Messiah was there and you find out the the various conversation that happened there at the temple in fact in verses 14 to 19 we find Yeshua Jesus the Messiah teaching in the temple in Jerusalem it says in verse 14 about the midst of the feast this is sukkot the feast of booth in the middle of the feast of tabernacles yeshua went up into the temple and he taught it is fascinating to think of the messiah as a teacher remember he was a rabbi he was a teacher

he was not a teacher that went to any school, like rabbinical school, the Shammai or the Hillel schools, or any other school that were in existence during those days among the people of Israel, any rabbinical school, no, because he was the greatest teacher that ever lived, because he was the one who gave God's word to the people of Israel because of his divine nature, he was God the son, the son of God who came as a man now so he's coming to the temple in Jerusalem and he began to teach wouldn't you love to be there when Yeshua the teacher taught can you imagine how many a time we find him teaching his disciples and

teaching the multitude that came to him In fact, from Matthew chapter 5, 6 and 7, on that sermon that he gave on a mountain in the Galil in the north of Israel, his disciples came unto him and he opened his mouth according to Matthew chapter 5 and verse 2, and he taught them saying, and you remember the beatitude, Blessed are the poor.

Blessed are they that mourn. Blessed are the meek. Blessed are they which hunger. Blessed are the merciful. Blessed are the poor in heart. Blessed are the peacemakers. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake. Blessed are ye, in Hebrew, you are blessed if you are listening to the word of god and to the person of our lord yeshua the messiah the hebrew word is ashrei blessed ashrei aniye haruach ashrei havelim ashrei haanavim this is fascinating you are blessed he is saying to those that listen to his word and here we find him now in the temple you notice that in matthew 5 he's in the galil in the north In John 7, he's in Yerushalayim.

In the north, he taught in the Galil. And in Yerushalayim, he's the greatest teacher that ever lived. He's the greatest teacher that ever lived. No wonder, it was Nicodemus, Nakdimon, came to him and he called him. You remember in John chapter 3, there was a man of the Pharisees by the name of Nicodemus. He was a ruler of the Jews, and he came to Jesus by night, and he said unto him, Rabbi. Now, can you imagine? One of the greatest teachers in Israel calling Yeshua Rabbi. We know that you are a teacher come from God, for no man can do these miracles which thou doest, except God be with him.

Even Nicodemus called him teacher, rabbi, the Hebrew word rabbi, to be one that is a rav, a teacher who is able to communicate the things of God. But this person, the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, teaching in the temple, when you have all the Pharisees and the Sadducees and the scribes, here coming Yeshua from Nazareth and he's teaching and you notice we find out in verse 15 the Jews marveled saying how knows this man letters having never learned to remind you beloved brothers and sisters that in our Jewish history whenever one would become a rabbi a teacher he would have to go to a school He would have to go to learn, to become a rabbi, to become a teacher of the law, teacher of the word.

But they were marveled. They say, you know, having, he said, how can this man know to speak in such a way? How knows this man's letters, meaning the word, never having learned? Where did he get what he has to say? He was speaking differently to Pharisees and the Sadducees and the scribes because, to remind you, whenever any teacher in Israel taught, he always quoted another rabbi. Rabbi so-and-so say this, and Rabbi so-and-so say this, because after all, when the law was given to our forefathers, then over the years there were rabbis who rose to interpret the law. And also, of course, because wrongly, Israel also believed in what is called the oral law.

And that's based upon the rabbis that receive that oral law, according to them, from Moshe. And therefore, they are transferring that oral law from one rabbi to another, to another. and therefore there's always a quotation of a saying of another rabbi. But here we learn very quickly that the best thing is always to go back to the written Word of God. And the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, is teaching on the basis of the Scripture because He gave the law. He was the God who had given to our forefathers the law when Israel came out of the land of Egypt. And therefore on Mount Sinai the law was given to Moses from God and Moses put it on for us in a book and this book is the one that we learn from.

And here Yeshua, the Messiah, is teaching and he always have a relationship to the written word of God. And while the Pharisees and the scribes and the Sadducees always quoted another rabbi, here the Lord himself does not need to quote another rabbi, another teacher, but he himself, the teacher of teachers, a rabbi of rabbanim. He is the one who teaches in the temple in Jerusalem. That's why we have to be careful, even today, as believers in the church age, not to go beyond scripture and always quoting what other brothers have written and another pastor have written and another spiritual leader have written. It's always good for us to go back to the word of God.

While we appreciate those that have written commentaries and thought about the Word of God, but we always have to base our study of the Word of God on the basis of the written Word of God, the law, the prophets, the writings, and the new covenant. And so we see that they were marveled. How knows this man letters, having never learned? This reminds me of what we read in Luke chapter 2 and verses 46 and 47, that when Yeshua was 12 years of age, it came to pass that after three days that they found him, his mother Miriam and his stepfather, they found him in a temple, the very same temple, Beit HaMikdash.

They found him in Beit HaMikdash in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both hearing them and asking them questions. But you notice what it says later in the next verse? And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

And you see, beloved friends, beloved brothers and sisters, When he was 12 years of age, going down, going up to the temple in the city of Yerushalayim, going down from Nazareth, going up to Yerushalayim, there he is the one that is not only asking questions, but giving an answer to those that were there to listen to him and to remind you that when him and his parents went to the temple in the city of Yerushalayim Yeshua the Messiah was already 12 years old and he has gone with his parents to Jerusalem according to verse 42 of Luke chapter 2 when he was 12 years old they went up to Yerushalayim after the custom of the

feasts and you see in the case of Luke 2 it was a feast of Pesach Passover and here we find the Lord Jesus the Messiah now in his public ministry no longer 12 years old teaching in the temple in the city of Yerushalayim we read in the next verses verses 16 17 and 18 after they ask how knoweth these men letters having not learned listen to what Yeshua is saying to them Yeshua Jesus answered them and he said my doctrine my teaching is not mine but his that sent me if any man will do his will he shall know of the doctrine whether it be of God or whether I speak of myself he that

speakers of himself seekers his own glory but he that seekers his glory that have sent him the same is true and no unrighteousness is in him you notice what yeshua is saying here he's saying to the jewish people now again to remind you this is a jewish event everyone there is part of the nation of Israel the Pharisees the Sadducees the the the scribes the the ordinary people the disciples Yeshua all is a is a Jewish event that occur in the city of Jerusalem so he's teaching them and he's telling them listen he's saying to them my teaching my doctrine is really not mine he is as a man now he is presenting himself as

the one that was sent by god he was the mashiach the promised messiah sent by god for the nation of israel and he is telling them this is not my teaching this is the one who sent me this is his teaching this is god's teaching if any man will do his will this is god's will he shall know of the doctrine whether it be of god or whether it be of myself in other words if you want to know whether i speak for myself as a man or whether i teach when i speak from the word of god from the teaching of god well if you want to know you will see if it is

true or false listen to what i say if i say anything that is contrary to what the scripture teach then you can say something but the lord always spoke from the word of God because he is the eternal word of God and so in verse 18 Yeshua continues and he says he that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glow and you notice what he's really saying that he's really making a reference to the Pharisees and to the Sadducees and to the scribes who by now have departed so much from the word that they really spoke of themselves.

And he's saying, he that speaks of himself seeks his own glory, but he that seeks his glory that have sent him, in other words, the one that seeks the glory of God, he is the true one that teach the truth of god and no unrighteousness is in him in other words he comparing himself with the scribes the pharisees the sadducees the spiritual leaders of our people of israel who did not recognize him who did not want to believe that he was the messiah who have deviated from the torah the clear teaching of the torah to a more or less pharisaic teaching that was of course mingled there was never departure completely of any word of

God because you will always hear the word of God and the Torah taught among our people of Israel but when you depart from the patron from the order from the promises as to how and when the Mashiach will come which is clearly written in the Torah Nevi'im and Ketuvim the law the prophets and the writing when you depart from that you don't recognize that yeshua is the messiah and that's what happened here and so the lord is saying that he that speakers of himself seekers his own glory and indeed they did not seek the glory of god but they sought their own glory but he that seekers the glory of him that sent me him

this is the one that seek god he is the one who speaks the truth and he is the one that there is no unrighteousness in him and praise God there is unrighteous in you and in me and in all men but there is no unrighteousness in the person of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah he is the righteous one he is the just one and clearly we can see throughout scripture how the Lord Yeshua, the Messiah, is presented before us by the writing of the Word of God.

And that's why, beloved friends, it is important to recognize that He is the Eternal Son of God. It reminds me of what we read in the scripture concerning the coming of the Lord Jesus the Messiah, how he will be the one that will be from God sent to this world, and how he will be the one, that holy one, that will be born into this world. You remember what we read in Luke chapter 1, And the angel answered and said unto her, that is Miriam, the Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the highest shall overshadow thee. Therefore that Holy One which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

This is Luke 1 and verse 35. He is the Holy One. There is no unrighteousness in Him. He is the Righteous One. And in fact, in Hebrews, we read of him as holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, as the writer to the Hebrew believers present this before us in Hebrews chapter 7 and verse 26. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens. This is the Mashiach, this is the Messiah, the Redeemer that came to this world. So notice, as the Lord continues in verse 19, speaking about Moses, Moshe, who gave the Torah to our people of all, the people of Israel, he says in verse 19, Did not Moshe give you the law, and yet none of you keep the law?

Why go ye about to kill me? In other words, if Moshe told you, you shall not murder. And Moshe gave you the Torah, the law. So you don't keep the law. Why do you go about to kill me? And you see what happened, beloved brothers and sisters and dear friends. They sought to put him away because Yeshua, Jesus the Messiah, had so many of Israel who followed after him. and that was very unpleasant to the spiritual leaders of israel they were not happy with that at all that's why they sought to do away with him but beloved brothers and sisters here the lord is now in the midst of the nation presenting himself to the spiritual leaders of israel you you notice what it says in verse 1 of the very same seventh chapter where we study after this thing jesus walked in galilee why because he would not walk in judea in jewry because the jews sought to kill him so they sought to kill him because he claimed to be the mashiach many followed after him and the jewish leaders were not happy with him and that's why in verse 19 the lord is telling to the spiritual leaders he said you don't keep the law and why do ye go about seeking to kill me seeking to put me away why what did i do and to remind you that it is very clear in the law of moses that the law gave a direct command to the people of Israel how their behavior must be and when they sought to do away with him they were violating the law.

In Exodus we read in chapter 19 that in the third month when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai and we find out that in the wilderness of Sinai God gave Israel the law Moses went up unto God and the Lord began to give him the law and you remember what we read in the Torah, in the law, in the Ten Commandments we have very clearly read thou shalt not kill verse 13 of Exodus chapter 20 thou shalt not murder you cannot murder anybody you cannot kill anyone unless he committed he violated certain commandments that god demanded one to be killed but the lord yeshua the messiah didn't do so now to remind you of course that because the jewish leaders sought to to understand what yeshua claimed to be he did claim to be divine he did claim to be equal with the father as it is very very clear from the whole gospel of john where the lord jesus the messiah claimed that he is one with the father and that was very hard for them to grasp he violated the shabbat according to them by healing the man in chapter 5, the man, the impotent man.

So for them, he was violating God's law, claiming to be divine, claiming to be equal with God the Father, and therefore they sought to put him away. Well, as we move along in the study of John chapter 7, we find out the response that the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, gave to the spiritual leaders of Israel in verses 20 all the way to verse 24. But we find out, first of all, that the people answered and said, Thou hast a demon. Who goes about to kill thee? In other words, the people said, We are not going about to kill you. We are not going about to kill you. Well, that's the people said.

But the Lord knew exactly those who sought to put him away. And that's why in verse 21 all the way to verse 24, Yeshua is responding to the people and as well to the Jewish leaders. And you notice what he says in verse 21. he makes a reference to the single work that he has done by healing the men in the pool of Beit Chazda. He said, Yeshua said in verse 21, he answered and he said unto them, I have done one work. And that one work is in reference to chapter 5 of this very gospel. And let me read you this verse, chapter 5 and verse 17. Where we read, but Jesus answered and said, My father worketh hitherto, and I work.

And if we go back to verse 5, A certain man was there which had an infirmity for thirty and eight years, and when Jesus saw him laying, and knew that he had been now a long time, in that case, he saith unto him, Will thou be made whole? and you remember what the impotent man said the impotent man answered him and he said sir I have no man when the water is troubled to put me into the pool but while I am coming another step is down before me and Yeshua said unto him rise up take up thy bed and walk and immediately the man that became whole he took up his bed and he walked On the same day it was a Shabbat day.

So here in verse 21, the Lord is going back to this event in the pool of Beit Chazda that happened previously, before when he was in the city of Yerushalayim at the feast of Passover earlier in chapter 5. Now we find him in the feast of Sukkot, speaking in the temple and telling them, I have done one work, verse 21, and you all marvel. And he says in verse 22, Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision, not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers, and ye on a Shabbat day circumcise a man. If a man on a Shabbat day receives circumcision that the law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry at me because I have made a man every week whole on the Shabbat day?

You see the whole situation there, the whole conflict existed because simply Yeshua did heal that man on a Shabbat day. and healing this man for 38 years he was laying at home and at the pool at home and at the pool waiting for the time that he will be able to jump into the water and to be healed but he had no man but the man from heaven came and asked him will you be made whole he said i have no man and this man Yeshua the Messiah said to him rise up take up thy bed and walk and he was completely healed and it happened on a Shabbat day and so this is for the spiritual leaders of Israel was a a violation of the Shabbat day and again to remind you to do good on a Shabbat day to heal on a Shabbat day it was not ungodly it was godly it was the right thing to do It was not for one's self, it's for the benefit of another.

Notice what the Lord is saying to them. Moses, he gave you circumcision in the Torah. And of course we know that Moses wrote the first five books, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.

And in Genesis chapter 17, God made a covenant with Abraham, Abraham, Avinu, and his descendants, the jewish people and he commended that every boy man child will be circumcised on the eighth day and if he happened to have been born in a time when he become eight on the shabbat day there was a circumcision still going on on a shabbat day without to be to be considered as a violation of the shabbat and that's why it says moses therefore gave unto you the circumcision because it's not because of Moses but it is because of the fathers Abraham, Yitzhak and Yaakov Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and ye on a Shabbat day circumcise a man if the

8th day old of that young baby happened to fall on a Shabbat day that baby boy will be circumcised because God wanted all our Jewish people to be circumcised on the 8th days on the eighth day, and therefore if it happened to fall on a Shabbat day, circumcision will still happen, and it is not a violation of the law so if a man on a Shabbat day receives circumcision verse 23, that the law of Moses should not be broken because this was part of the law of Moses that a man child will be circumcised on the eighth day so it was not a violation of God's law to be circumcised on any day because it

is part of the law that God had given to the people of Israel and therefore why do you accuse me when I have healed that man on a Shabbat day.

This is so interesting how the Lord have challenged the spiritual leaders of Israel concerning the circumcision on a Shabbat day. Let me just remind you that God said to Israel, He says in Genesis chapter 17, He says, This is my covenant, which ye shall keep between me and you, and I see it after thee. Every man child among you shall be circumcised. This is Genesis 17 and verse 10. And he shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin. And it shall be a token of the covenant between me and you. The word for token comes from the Hebrew word ot, a sign. And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generation.

He that is born in the house, or bought with money, of any stranger which is not of thy seed, he that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised. And my covenant, the Hebrew word is Brit, and my Brit and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. The word in Hebrew is Brit Olam, everlasting covenant. That's why the circumcision in Hebrew is called Brit Milah, a covenant of circumcision. Notice what it says in verse 14 of Genesis chapter 17. And the uncircumcised man child, whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, That soul shall be cut off from his people.

He has broken my covenant. So you see, beloved friends, how serious was the necessity to circumcise every man, a child of the people of Israel. That was a covenant that God made with our forefathers And to violate that is breaking the covenant that God made with our fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It is very interesting because in the book of Leviticus, it was inaugurated and included in the Torah, in the law. In Leviticus chapter 12 we read, And the Lord speak unto Moses, saying, speaking to the children of Israel, saying, verse 1 and 2 and 3, If a woman have conceived a seed, and born a man's child, then she shall be unclean for seven days, according to the days of her separation for her infirmity, she shall be unclean, this is the seven days, but now notice verse 3, And in the eighth day, the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

Brit Milah, circumcised. And therefore, it is a covenant that God made with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and Israel, and the descendants of the Jewish people from the time of Genesis chapter 17. It was included in the Torah, in the law. And here we find out Yeshua saying to them, if Moses that gave you the law, the circumcision, and if it's fall on a Shabbat day, you circumcise a man because you don't want to violate that command. And if a man on a Shabbat day receives circumcision, according to the law of Moses, because the law should not be broken, and I, he says, because you are angry with me because i made this man whole on a shabbat day judge not according to appearance but judge righteous judgment you see what he says in these verses this is very interesting so he is exposed the reality that existed in the heart of these jewish leaders in the time when Yeshua was there in Yerushalayim.

Well, these are verses 21 to verse 24. So you notice now, as we move along in our chapter, in the study of chapter 7, you notice that from verses 25 on, notice what we read here, then some said of Jerusalem, is not this he whom they seek to kill? You see, apparently, the ordinary Israeli knew that there was a plan to kill him. In fact, already, if you remember, in chapter 5 and verse 16, we read, Therefore did the Jews persecuted Yeshua and sought to slay him because he had done these things on a Shabbat day. Already after the healing of that man, on a Shabbat day, The man in Beit Chazda that was for 38 years in infirmity.

And now he's healed and he's able to walk, to leap and run and rejoicing. But because of this, Yeshua was sought by them to be killed. So the people asked, isn't not this the one that they sought to kill? In other words, the people understood that was a plan to put him away. And so we read, notice that, in verse 26, 27, and 28, we read, But lo, he spoke boldly, you know, publicly, and boldly. He was not afraid from the spiritual leaders, because he is the Son of God, the Mashiach himself. So people could see, he speak boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ, the very Christos in Hebrew, the very Mashiach, the very Messiah?

Is he the one that, do they know that he is the Messiah? Because apparently he's speaking boldly and they do nothing unto him and they say nothing unto him in public because obviously they didn't want that the rest of the nation and we'll be unhappy with them because of what they sought to do to Yeshua. So they ask, do the rulers, namely the Pharisees, the Sadducees, do they know indeed that this is the very Messiah? Howbeit we know this man whence he is, but when Mashiach cometh, no man knoweth whence he is. In other words, notice what they say. We know where this man is coming from.

Well, you remember, he was from Nazareth. His father was the carpenter, his stepfather. His mother was Miriam. So they knew that he was coming from the city of Nazareth.

In fact, in chapter 13 of the Gospel of Matthew, we read that they said, not this the carpenter's son verse 55 is not his mother called miriam and his brethren yakov yosef shimon and yuda and his sisters are they not all with us whence then has this man all these things matthew 13 verse 55 and 56 so the people in general who came to yershala to keep the feast of tabernacles from the various areas surrounding the city of Jerusalem from the north from the Galil from Shomron Samaria is the area all the areas around the land of Israel they would come to keep the feast even though of course the Samaritans have not dealing with

the Jews so they had to bypass around Samaria to come to Jerusalem in order to keep the feast but nevertheless they came from judea and the outermost parts and some even from other lands who came like we find them in the feast of pentacles the feast of shavuot in act chapter 2 that jewish people came from all over the world to keep the feasts and so they said well we know where he's coming he's coming from nazareth we know about his parents we know about his family but when the messiah gonna come we no man knows when he is we do not know when he's going to come from well in actuality the people of

israel ought to have known when the messiah is going to come how he's going to come where he's going to come from we read for example in the prophets of israel that the micah wrote that the Messiah will come from the city of Bethlehem.

Micah 5, in verse 2 in the English text, verse 1 in the Hebrew text, But thou, Bethlehem Ephrata, though thou be little among the thousand of Judah, yet out of thee, Bethlehem Ephrata, out of thee shall he come forth unto me, That is to be a ruler in Israel whose going forth have been from of old, from everlasting. So he will come from the city of Bethlehem where he will be born to the virgin Miriam of whom Isaiah said in chapter 7 and verse 14 that the virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call his name Immanuel. They also knew that he will be not only the seed of the virgin and that he will come from Bethlehem, but they also knew that he will be out of the family of Jesse.

as Isaiah said also in chapter 11 verse 1 and there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse and a branch shall go out of his roots and the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him the spirit of wisdom and understanding the spirit of counsel and of might the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord you see that there is a promises how the Messiah will come he will be the seed of the woman he will be the seed of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and Israel he will be of the tribe of Judah he will be promised by the Lord the scepter shall not depart from Judah as Yaakov said about his son Yehudah that the king the ruler in Israel will come from the tribe of Judah and that he will be a seed of David, son of David, Ben David, and he will come from the city of Bethlehem.

And he's ultimately going to be a Nazareth. Out of Nazareth, God said that he will be a Nazarene and he will be the one that will come from Nazareth. So there is indication in the Hebrew scripture how the Messiah will be born but you see my dear brothers and sisters and dear friends it was you might say vague you might say or maybe not clearly understood how exactly and especially to understand that he was divine the born of a virgin woman it happened once in history never before It is very, you might say, without the help of the Spirit of God, no one can even grasp this amazing truth.

And so they say, we know where this man came from, but when the Messiah will come, we do not know where he is going to come from. Well, then you notice what happened. In the next verses, verse 28 and verse 29, Yeshua is speaking now to the people at the temple. then cried yeshua in the temple as he taught and you remember he was sitting down and teaching here we find him continuing to teach but then he's crying and he's saying loud he said ye both know me and ye know whence i am and i am not come of myself and he that sent me is true whom ye know not, but I know him, for I am from him, and he has sent me.

In other words, ye both know me, and ye know whence I am. In other words, they knew on the basis of scripture how the Messiah will come, as we have already made reference to that. So, he didn't come of himself, he was sent by God, and God clearly spoke through the Torah, the law the prophet and the writing promise to our forefathers how and when the messiah will come but what the lord is saying he's saying that i know the one who sent me i am from him and he is the one that sent me even though you say you don't know but i tell you you should know and you know because it is written in the word of God.

But sadly, sadly, much of that which was written was not understood and was not accepted. And therefore, he continued to impress upon them that he is the one that was sent from God the Father.

And so we read in the next verses, we read in verse 30 and then they sought to take him again you notice that they are seeking to take him but no man laid him laid hands on him because his hour was not yet come this is so interesting dear brothers and sisters his hour was not yet come you remember earlier we read in verse verse 6 jesus said unto them mine hour is not yet come but your hour is always ready you are always ought to be ready to accept me to accept the word of god but my time for you to catch me and for me to go to die it's not my time

is yet you notice verse 8 of the same seventh chapter go ye up unto the feast i go not up yet unto the feast for my time is not yet fully come and here once again we read here in this next verse that they sought to hold him they sought to take him but his hour was not yet come and you know amazing that hour is in reference to the time that he will be captured that Yeshua will be captured and ultimately will be captured handed over to Pilate and Pilate will judge him and condemn him and send him to be crucified on that Roman cross and so we read in verse 31 many of

the people believe on him notice what we read and many of the people believed on him now again we hear this expression many of the people believed on him you remember already in chapter 2 of this very same gospel at the end of chapter 2 we read in verse 23 now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover in a feast day many believed in his name when they saw the miracles which he did but yeshua did not commit himself unto them because he knew all men in other word he knows the heart of everyone one must believe in the lord jesus the messiah acknowledge that he is god the son acknowledge that he is

the savior of sinners in order to receive forgiveness of sins so a time we read in this gospel of john that people believe on him but the lord knows their hearts you notice what they said in verse 31 many of the people believed on him and said when the messiah cometh will he do more miracles than these which this man have done basically my dear brothers and sisters they believe on him because of their miracles now it is amazing it is wonderful that the lord made many signs and miracles to help the people of israel in days of old but the point is that they needed to believe that he is the son of god

the messiah who would now go to pay for the sin of this world by shedding his blood and becoming the atoning sacrifice for mankind that is the reason that he came and so we read in verse 32 the pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him and the pharisees and the chief priests sent officers here we go again to take him they wanted to capture him because the people started to believe because of his miracles and some i'm confident believe because they realized that there is more to him that he's much more than just an ordinary man that he is the Mashiach and so the chief priest sent officers to take him and

then we read in verse 33 and 34 the words of Yeshua to them who sought to take him we read then said Jesus unto them yet a little while and I am with you and then I go unto him that sent me ye shall seek me and shall not find me and where i am thither you cannot come this is very sad this is very sad because he's saying i'm here for a little longer i'm here for a little longer remember that it is the feast of sukkot it will be in the feast of the next passover the next pesach in the spring some five six months later when Yeshua will become the lamb of

God when he will die on that cross on the Roman cross so he says yet a little while and I'm with you I'm still here with you and then I will go to him that sent me how he gonna go to him that sent me well he's going to die he's going to be buried and he's going to rise again he's going to finish the walk of redemption he's going to provide a way of salvation he will cry my god my god why has thou forsaken me and god will have to judge him for the sin of this world so he's a little while now still alive but he's going to return unto the one

that sent him the father sent the son to be the savior of this world 1st John chapter 4.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. He gave him to die on that shameful altar to become the redeemer. So he's going to return to God the father but not before his death burial and resurrection. So I'm with you for a little longer a little while and then I'm not going to be here anymore because I'm going to die going to be buried and returned back to God the Father because God will raise him and he will be ascended and he's going to be taken back to heaven as the psalmist of Israel said sit down at my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool after the Lord Jesus the Messiah's death burial and resurrection God have taken him and seated him at his own right hand then he said ye shall seek me and he shall not find me and where i am thither you cannot come you see the unbeliever the unregenerated one cannot come to god no one can come to the father but by me we read in john chapter 14 and verse 6 i am the way the truth and the life no man cometh unto the father but by me my dear friend this is an amazing truth to learn in act chapter 4 we do read very clearly neither is there salvation verse 12 in any other for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved there is no other name than yeshua jesus the messiah that one can be saved.

And so I'm here a little while. Later on, after I will die, bury and rise again and go to heaven, you're going to seek me but you will not find me. And where I go, whither I go, thither ye cannot come. The unbeliever will never be able to come to where Yeshua is in heaven. Because when one reject the Mashiach, the Messiah, he or she will never be able to receive forgiveness of sins. Because God will have to judge the unregenerated one. Why? Because one who did not believe. Yeshua said come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.

Come to me. I am the one who became the Lamb of God. I am the one who is going to die for your sin. I am the one who is going to be the substitute for your sin. Turn to me and you will come to where I am. But if you reject me, if you will not accept me, whither where I am, thither ye cannot come. On the other hand, in John chapter 14, Yeshua said for the believers in him, he said to them in verse 3, and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am there you will be also.

This is for the believers. If you trust in him there you will be also he will come to take us to be with him. But the unbelievers whither I go you cannot come. So the last two verses of John 7 verses 35 and 36 in this message beloved friends we read Then said the Jews among themselves Whither will he go? They said. Whither will he go? In other words, they were asking the question, where will he be going to? In verse 35, you notice that? They were amazed. They said, where is he going to go? Whither will he go? Shall he, and we will find him not. Will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, among the goyim, and teach the Gentiles?

You know, the word for disperse is the Hebrew word nefotsim, and the dispersion is where the Jewish people were dispersed all over the nations of the world. And the question was, will he go among the dispersed, among the Gentiles and teach the Gentiles, and teach the Greeks, basically, the Gentiles? You see, they thought that he will go among the dispersed Jews who are among the nations of the world and teach there is he going to go there to outside of the land of Israel to preach the message there to the Jewish people there and to the rest of the Gentile world and then in verse 36 they wondered they said what manner of saying is this that he said ye shall seek me and ye shall not find me and where I am And thither ye cannot come.

What is this saying that he is saying? This is such an amazing thing because no one will come to the Father but through the Lord Jesus the Messiah. And you know that reminds us of what we have already learned from John 6 and verse 44. If you remember we have learned that no man can come unto me except the Father which has sent me draw him and I will raise him up in the last day verse 65 of John 6 and no man can come unto me except it were given to him of my father and what is so interesting because you can learn from these passages the sovereignty of God and the responsibility of men They had the responsibility to come on the one hand, and then on the other hand we learn that it is totally a divine work that God is drawing one to come unto himself.

And with this verse 36, beloved friend, we learn of the importance of learning from the word of God, seeking the truth that is found in the scripture and coming to the Lord and saying, God, help me to understand who Yeshua, Jesus, the Messiah is. And beloved brothers and sisters, may the Lord help us as we learn from the Word to appreciate the reason that the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, came down to this world. He came to seek and to save us all who were lost by nature and to bring us to God to have eternal hope, eternal salvation. May you and I all appreciate his word.

And if you are not a believer yet in Yeshua the Messiah, may the Lord touch your heart and bring you to recognize who Jesus the Messiah is. Will God bless you and Shalom Shalom.
