Shalom, my dear friends. What a wonderful privilege we have together to be able to study the Word of God and to learn more and more about our Lord Yeshua HaMashiach, our Messiah Jesus, who loved us and gave Himself for us. It is so precious to be able to open the Word of God and to learn concerning the person of Jesus the Messiah. Wonderful! Especially as we study together this Gospel of Yohanan, of John, the one that presenting, John presenting before us Yeshua, Jesus the Messiah, is the eternal Son of God who became a man became a man and came in order to fulfill the promises that were given to the people of Israel, that in the fullness of the time, God will send the Messiah into this world to become a man.

Emmanuel, God with us. As we read in the prophet Isaiah, and John, in his Gospel, began with the words. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Then, verse 14, and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory. The glory is of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. And, beloved friend, we are moving along in our study together of this Gospel of John, and we have arrived now to the 13th chapter. In fact, what happened here, as we are moving along in the study of the Word of God, especially in the Gospel of John, now we are entering into the portion of the Gospel of John, which presents before us Yeshua, Jesus the Messiah, no longer in His public ministry along the whole land of Israel, Israel, from the Galil, all the way to the Yerushalayim, and the whole land of Israel, the Shomron, Samaria.

By the time that we arrive to chapter 13, from here on, John 13, John 14, John 15, John 16, and John 17, these chapters deal specifically with the ministry of the Lord among the disciples, the Talmidim, in the city of Yerushalayim, in the upper room, especially doing the feast of Pesach, Chag Pesach, the feast of Passover. It is a feast that not only reminded our people of Israel of the history of which God had delivered the Hebrews out of bondage into liberty to take them into the promised land, this land, but it is also, this is one of the most important feasts that pointing the nation of Israel, and you and I also, into the coming of the Lamb of God, the Messiah Himself, who will take away the sin of this world.

So here we are in the 13th chapter of this Gospel of John, and I would like to read the first 17 verses of the 13th chapter, in order to enter into the upper room, we might call it the upper room discourse, or the upper room sermon, in which Yeshua is presenting before His disciples the fact that soon and very soon He will go to become the Redeemer, the Savior, when He will die and become the substitute for the sin of this world. And so we read in John chapter 13, and I will read, beloved brothers and sisters and dear friends, I will read the first 17 verses of this 13th chapter.

And so we read: Now, before the feast of Pesach, Passover, when Yeshua knew that His hour was come, that He should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved His own which were in the world, He loved them unto the end. And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Yehuda Iscariot, Judah Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray Him, Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into His hand, and that He was come from God and went to God, He rises from supper, laying aside His garments, and took a towel and girded Himself. After that He poureth water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith He was girded.

Then cometh He to Simon Peter, Shimon Petrus, and Peter saith unto Him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? Yeshua answered and said unto him, What I do, thou knowest not now, but thou shalt know hereafter. Peter saith unto Him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Yeshua answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. Simon Peter saith unto Him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. Jesus saith unto Him, He that is washed, needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit; and ye are clean, but not all. For He knew who should betray Him.

Therefore said He, Ye are not all clean. So after He had washed their feet, and had taken His garment, and was set down again, He said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? Ye call me master and Lord, and ye say well, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and master, have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. Verily, verily I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his Lord, neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them. And I will stop here with verse 17. Beloved brothers and sisters and dear friends, this is a very interesting portion of the Word of God, because when we have arrived to this 13th chapter in the Gospel of Yohanan, that is John, we arrive to the time when our Lord Yeshua, the Messiah is now alone with the Talmidim, with his disciples, who will later on will become the Shlichim, the apostles, who will go later on to preach the message of the Gospel of the grace of God throughout all the world, who will be the foundation of the Ekklesia, the church.

And they will be the one that the Lord Yeshua, the Messiah by the Spirit of God will use in a future day after his death, burial, and resurrection, to send them to become the Shlichim, the apostles who will present the message of the Gospel, that the Messiah have finished the work of redemption and that whosoever will believe on him shall not perish but have everlasting life. And so this upper room, time alone with his disciples is very, very important. To remind you, in this conversation that the Lord Yeshua, the Messiah, will have now in the feast of Pesach, in Hebrew Pesach, Passover, in the upper room in the city of Jerusalem, as it was just about to become the 14th day of the month of Nisan, where he must die and become the Passover lamb, this discourse, this conversation with his disciples is very important.

To remind you that in Matthew chapter 5, 6, and 7, in the earlier part of the Messiah public ministry, he gave a sermon there in the Galilee, in the north of Israel, the sermon on the mountain. And there he gave the, what is known to us all, as the sermon in which the Lord Yeshua, the Messiah was challenging. It's a place where we would call it the beatitude, the mountain on which he said, "Blessed are the poor, and blessed are they that mourn, and blessed are the meek, and blessed are they which do hunger and thirst, and blessed are the merciful, blessed are the pure in heart, blessed are the peacemakers, blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake, blessed are ye when men shall revile you." And so on, these are the B attitude that he taught his disciples, and the multitude that came in the time when he was in his early part of his ministry.

Then later on, if you remember in Matthew chapter 13, he continued to give another parabolic message to the, to those that came to him concerning the mystery kingdom of heaven. And if you remember, he gave the eight parables. In Hebrew we call them Meshalim. With these eight Meshalim, these eight parables, he explained them to the disciples, that these eight parables represent the age in which he will be rejected. And it will begin, will he be rejected at his first coming, and this mystery kingdom of heaven age will end at his second coming, when Israel as a nation will accept him, and he will establish the future promised messianic kingdom.

That was the second sermon, or the second deliberation that he had with his disciples. Later on in Matthew chapter 24 and 25, there was a third sermon, or a third deliberation, which Yeshua the Messiah had with his disciples on Har Hazetim, the mountain, the Olivet discourse on Mount of Olives. And there you remember, the disciples asked him, "When shall this thing be? What shall be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?" And the Lord Yeshua the Messiah, in chapter 24 and 25 of the Gospel of Matthew, gave them this sermon, this discourse. He told them how things will come to pass. The temple in Yerushalayim will be destroyed, the Jewish people will be dispersed, and there will be a persecution, and ultimately the Antichrist will rise at the tribulation period, and he will be the one that will violate God's word, and there will be that abomination of desolation.

And then he promised his return, if you remember at Matthew chapter 24, when he said to them that at the end of the tribulation, the Messiah himself, "For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be." He is the Son of Man, Ben-Adam, the Messiah will return, at the end of the tribulation, and he will gather, as it says in verse 31, "He will send his angels with the sound of the trumpet, and they will gather together his elect from the four winds, from the one end of the heavens to another." This is the third discourse, or the third sermon that he gave to his disciples in Matthew chapter 24 and 25.

But now, beloved brothers and sisters and dear friends, when we arrive to chapter 13, 14, 15, 16, and we can include chapter 17, we have this final, you might say, the farewell speech, or the farewell message that Yeshua is giving to his, these early Hebrew disciples in the city of Yerushalayim, during the feast of Pesach, Passover. In fact, we say it in Hebrew, this is Messer HaShalom LaTalmidim Shel Yeshua. This is the farewell message to his beloved disciples, because soon he is going to be hung on that Roman cross, and he will be judged for the whole, for the sin of the whole world, beloved friend. And so here, he is just about ready to say Shalom, just about ready to say farewell, just about ready to go to the cross where he will die for the sin of this world.

And so, chapter 13 began with these first 17 verses that present the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, as the one that is relating, we might say, the relationship, first of all, that he has with God. God the Father, Elohim HaAba, in verses 1 to 5. Then in verses 6 to 11, he related to Shimon Petros, to Simon Peter, who needed to learn some lesson here in this upper room. And then verses 12 to 17, he relating to the disciples who needed to know a certain truth concerning now his departure. And all this happened in this upper room discourse that Yeshua is sharing with his disciples here. So you notice this, dear friends and dear brothers and sisters, that in this 13th chapter, verses 1 to 17, we find the Lord Jesus doing something that is unique.

You see, Moses had a farewell address when he spoke to the children of Israel before he died, in Deuteronomy chapter 31, 32, and 33. Joshua had a farewell discourse and message and address when he spoke to the children of Israel before he died in Joshua chapter 23 and 24. Even the apostle Shaul Paul himself had this farewell message that he gave to the Ephesians elders in Acts chapter 20. And you remember they wept there because he was leaving them. Here we see the same principle. The Messiah Yeshua is just about to leave. He's just about to become the Passover lamb, the Pesach. And he's sitting now with his disciples. And one thing that they, that neither Moses or Joshua or Paul did, Yeshua the Messiah does something here in his action that is unique.

He is really the sovereign God as man, yet the servant of all. Wonderful to see that. This is, this is fascinating, beloved brothers and sisters, to see how Yeshua, Jesus the Messiah, conducting himself here in the upper room, just before he becomes the lamb of God, just before he will die on the shameful cross. In the first five verses of John chapter 13, we see Yeshua and his Abba, his God the Father. We read, now before the feast of the Passover, when Yeshua knew that his hour was come, that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Yehuda Ishkariot, Judas Iskariot, Shimon's son, to betray him. Yeshua knowing that the Father had given all things unto his hand, and that he was come from God and went to God. He rises from supper and laid aside his garment and took towels and girded himself. After that, he pours water into the basin and he began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. You notice how interesting, beloved brothers and sisters, before the feast of Passover. The disciples are now, all the Talmidim are there in the upper room, in preparation for the celebration of Pesach.

To remind you that the first Pesach, the first Passover, happened from the time that Yeshua was there with his disciples, 1500 years passed by. When Israel, when our forefathers came out of the land of Egypt, out of bondage, when the first lamb was killed. When the Jewish people had to sit in their home after they killed the lamb and placed the blood on the doorposts and the lintel. And God said, when I see the blood, I will pass over. That's where you get the word, Pesach. Hover over. Pesach in Hebrew, I will pass over you. Now, 1500 years later, some 1500 years later, Yeshua himself, as he had always done so when he was, since his birth, with his family in Nazaret, in Jerusalem, Shalom, keeping this feast that pointed now to him who will become the Passover lamb.

Now, therefore, before the feast of Passover, when Yeshua knew. Now, notice that. He knew that his hour was come, that he should depart out of the world into the Father. Notice that. If you remember, beloved brothers and sisters, in chapter 7, we have already read it. And in verse 8, we read that the time has not come for him to become that one that will die yet, because his hour was not yet come. You remember, we read, Go ye up unto the feast. I go not up yet unto the feast, for my time is not yet fully come. Yeshua said to his brethren, wanted him to go to the feast of Passover.

It was not yet the time for him to die and to become the lamb of God. Later on, we did read this as well in John chapter 12. And we read in verse 23. Now, you see, time has arrived for him to be glorified. And here we find in chapter 13, in verse 1, He knew that his hour was come, that he should depart out of this world, notice, unto the Father. Now, how will he depart out of this world unto the Father? Well, to remind you, when God so loved the world and he gave his only begotten Son, God the Father sent the Son, 1 John 4, to become the Savior of this world.

How did God send his Son into this world? The Spirit of God placed in the womb of Miriam the seed that Miriam will give birth to the Messiah, who will be sinless and will be born into this world. And that's why when he was born, they called his name Yeshua, Jehovah the Savior. So he entered into this world in a supernatural way, and he was born to the virgin Miriam in the city of Bethlehem. And now that he is on earth 33 years, it's the time for him to return back to God as man. Now, how he will do so? He will have to go to the cross.

He will have to die for the sin of this world as man. And so his hour was come. That was an hour in which he anticipated all alone. It's the hour that we will read about later on when we will arrive to chapter 18. And you remember, that is the hour in which he will finish the work of redemption. In John 17:1 we read, These words speak Yeshua and he lifted up his eyes into heaven and he said, "Father, the hour is come, glorify thy Son, that thy Son may also glorify thee." That hour, beloved friend, is the hour in which he will become the Lamb of God that will take away the sin of this world.

That hour is the hour in which he will be judged the just one for the unjust one. That's the hour that he have anticipated throughout his life on earth. The hour in which God as a holy judge will lay upon him as a sinless man the iniquities of us all. So we read in verse 1, Yeshua knew that the hour of his death is coming. "Mine hour." He said many times throughout the Gospel of John, "Mine hour is not yet come, mine hour is not yet come, but now the hour has come for him to give his life." And so he is just, remember, before the feast of Pesach, Passover.

He is there, knowing that his hour has come. Notice what we read here in verse 1b. "Having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end." The word there is telos, the end, unto death. You see, that is what is so attractive to our hearts about the Lord Yeshua the Messiah. It is simply because that his love was beyond comprehension. His love for you, his love for me, his love for his God. His love for his Abba, his Father, was without measure, who, being in the form of God, he thought it not robbery to be equal with God. But he made himself of no reputation, and he took upon him the form of a servant.

And he was made in the likeness of men, and being found in the fashion as men, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross." And so, chapter 13 and verse 1, we see here clearly how Yeshua loved his own which were in the world. This is you, this is me, this is everyone that belongs to him. He loved them unto the end. This is verse 1. This is precious. It touches our hearts when we think of the one that was willing to love us all the way through. All the way unto the end. And so we read in verse 2 and 3 that Yeshua knew that he will also be betrayed by the name Yehuda Ishkrayot.

The Lord Jesus, the Messiah, knew that he will be betrayed. And you notice that we read here in the 2nd and 3rd verses in John chapter 13, we see that he knew that Judah will betray him. To remind you that Yeshua, Jesus, is God, the Son. He is a divine person. He knows the hearts of all of us. And so he knowing, verse 2, the supper being as the supper is in doing the supper time, doing the time with the disciples and all and all the land of Israel, the celebration of Pesach, doing supper time, doing the Passover meal. We read that the devil, having put into the heart of Judas, Ishkrayot, Simon's son, to betray him.

You see, the devil all along, Satan all along, my dear friend, Satan all along want to put away the Lord Yeshua, the Messiah. All along, he opposed anything that the Lord had done. In fact, already at the birth of the Messiah at Bethlehem, if you remember that the devils, through Herod, sent those to kill all the Jewish boys from 2 years and under. Why? Because knowing that the Messiah was to be born. And so using Herod to kill all the Hebrew boys from 2 years and under. Why? Because he did not want the Messiah to be born. And now, of course, the devil is using Judas and others throughout the ages to oppose the work that the Lord is going to accomplish.

Now, mind you, the Lord came to die. So, not knowing that by the death of the Messiah, redemption will come for mankind. Satan will be defeated when the Messiah, Jesus, will die. But notice how the devil enters. Satan, the devil, having now put into the heart of Judas, Ishkrayot, Simon's son, to betray him. And you notice the word, Yehuda Ishkrayot. Judas, the Hebrew name is simply Yehuda, like any Judah. Ishkaryot, or Ishkrayot, Ish means a man. Krayot means of the suburbs. Yehuda, the man of the suburbs. He was Simon's son, a man by the name of Shimon. He was his son. And the devil was placed into Judah's heart and ordered to betray the Lord, Yeshua, Jesus, the Messiah.

So, Satan entered into Judah's. And simply the word put simply means it's almost like to throw. It is simply like throwing a fiery dart. And meaning simply to cast into Judah in order to cause Yehuda to betray the Lord, Jesus, the Messiah. Remember that earlier already we know that Judas, he was really not one who believed on the Lord, Jesus, the Messiah. He was though chosen to become part of the disciples, but Yehuda himself never came to a point of time that he believed that Yeshua indeed is the Messiah. And so, Judas was doing the work of Satan. And he was the one that Satan entered into.

That word, once again, is the word for having entered or put into. It's really come from the Greek word to cast. It's like to throw. It's like almost a fiery dart was there in order to cause Judas to follow him and ultimately betray Jesus, the Messiah. And so, we read in verse 3, Jesus knowing, Yeshua knowing that the Father had given all things into his hand. And that he was come from God and went to God. Here you notice, once again, his relationship to God the Father. You notice that we read once and again. In verse 1, he came into the world and now he's returning unto the Father.

We find out in verse 3 that knowing that the Father had given all things to his hand. And that he was now come from God. This is God the Father. He went to God. This is God the Father. Here we see that the Lord Jesus knowing everything that he's going to do and everything that he does is in relationship to God the Father. And so, this is what we learn from verse 2 and 3. And now we learn in verses 4 and 5 the shocking things that the Lord Jesus the Messiah is doing. What we really learn here in verses 4 and 5 that in the midst of his anticipation to go to the shameful cross, to die.

What does he do? What does he do? Knowing the Judas, that the devil enter into Judas. Knowing that he's about to go to the cross to pay for the sin of this world. There in the upper room, he's now rising. Notice that very interesting in verses 4 and 5. We can see that now he's rising from supper. This is from the Passover meal. And he set aside, lay aside his garments. He took a towel and he girded himself. And we read here in verse 5. After that he pours water into the basin, began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.

Very interesting to see the humility of our blessed Lord Yeshua the Messiah. Now, we learn from this that he was indeed a servant. That rising up at the upper room at the feast of Pesach. Rising from supper. Laying aside his garments. Taking towel, girding himself. And then he poured water into a basin and he began to wash the disciples' feet. And to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. This is so fascinating, my dear friend. What a lesson the Lord Jesus seeking to teach his disciples. He rising up. Laying aside his outward garments. Then he girding himself. He pouring water into a basin.

And he began to wash the disciples' feet. This is exactly what we read in so many places concerning the servant of the Lord. He's setting an example. But to wash the disciples' feet. To wash their feet right there at the feast of Pesach. Pesach was something unusual. Something unique. It shows us how the Lord Jesus is seeking to teach his disciples to be servants. Because soon he will be going back to God. And they will remain here on earth to represent him. As you and I are called to represent him here on earth. And what an example. To wash the feet. To remind you. In the Middle Eastern days of old.

Some 2000 years ago. The dusty roads. Demand. When one would enter into a home. To wash one's feet. Abraham had done it. To the Lord. And to the angels. When came to him. Years earlier. It was a customary thing to do. To wash the feet of the guests that come for the meal. That enter into the house. But apparently none of the disciples did anything about it. And Yeshua rising up by himself. And he. Their Lord. Their Mashiach. God the Son has made. He began to wash his disciples' feet. And then we learn. Beloved brothers and sisters. Now we find out. That he is now. Presenting himself as the servant of the Lord.

As Isaiah. Said. Concerning the servant. In chapter 42. Behold. My servant. God said of him. Behold. My servant. Isaiah 42. In verse 1. Whom I will uphold. He is mine elect. In whom my soul delighteth. God. Call him. My servant. In Hebrew. Avdi. Ha'evet sheli. My servant. And here we see. The servant of the Lord. Is now. Rising. To wash. The disciples. Feet. Well now. That we. Have looked at the first five verses. Then we learn. From verses 6 to 11. That Yeshua. Jesus. The Messiah. In relationship. Not so much. Now. To his God. The Father. But to. Shimon. Peter. And. Notice. We read. In verse 6. Then cometh he. To Simon.

Peter. And Peter saith unto him. Lord. Dost thou wash. My feet. Yeshua answered. And said unto him. What I do. Thou knowest. Not now. But thou shalt know. Hereafter. Peter saith unto him. Thou shalt never wash. My feet. Yeshua answered him. If I wash thee not. Thou hast no part. With me. Simon. Peter. We read. In verse 9. Saith unto him. Lord. Not. My feet. Only. But also. My hands. And my head. Yeshua said to him. In verse 10. He said to him. He that is washed. Needeth. Not. Save. To wash. His feet. But is clean. Every weight. But not all. And ye are clean. But not all.

For he knew. Who. Should. Betray him. Therefore. He said. Ye. Are. Not. All. Clean. So. It is interesting. Because once you have arrived. To Shimon. Petros. To Simon. Simon. In verse. Six. He said to him. Lord. Are you. Going. To wash. My feet. See. Peter. Was. Surprised. He loved Yeshua. He loved the Messiah. But he was. He was. At all. When. The Lord Jesus. The Messiah himself. Coming in. Stepping. Stooping down. Kind of thing. And. Having the basin. There on the floor. And taking. Peter's feet. And. Ready to wash his feet. As he has done that. To the other. Peter. Said to him. Lord. Are you.

Going. To wash. My feet. Now notice. That's interesting. Because. The word here. In the. Greek language. Enipto. Which simply means. To wash. Part. Of the. Body. In other words. Peter. Is being. His feet. Is. His place. You might say. Into the basin. Was saying. Lord. Are you. Going. To wash. My feet. And the. Lord. Had to give him. An answer. And he. Said to him. What I do. You do not. Understand. Now. But you. Shall know. Hereafter. Peter. Let me wash. Your feet. You do not understand. What I'm doing. Now. But you will learn. That later on. You will know. Later on. What is the meaning.

In the washing. Of your feet. Now. This is very interesting. Because there is a lesson. That the Lord. Is seeking. To teach. The disciples. To remind you. Once again. That the feet. Represent. The walk. Of the people. Of God. Years ago. Again. In the streets. Of the. In the Middle East. When you walk on the street. Your feet. Getting dirty. So you would need. To wash your feet. Once and again. Because you walk. From one place. To another. Your feet. Is getting. In the dusty road. Getting dirty. You will. Come into a home. Wash your feet. Inside the basin. And then. Wipe them. And then.

You can. Be. Inside the house. Having your meals. And being with your family. Being with. Those you came. To visit. But. When the Lord. The Messiah. Yeshua. Is doing this. Peter could not. Understand it. So Yeshua. Said to him. What I do. Thou knowest not. Now. But. Thou. Shalt know. Hereafter. Peter. There is a lesson. In what I am doing. In washing. Your feet. So when the Lord. Told him. This. In verse 7. Then. Peter said. In verse 8. He said. Peter says unto him. Thou shalt. Never wash. My feet. Jesus answered him. And said. If I wash. Thee not. Thou has no part. With me. Again.

Beloved. Friends. You see. The washing. Of the feet. In the word. Of God. Represent. The fellowship. That one. Can have. With God. The Lord. Jesus. The Messiah. Is seeking. To teach. The disciples. The disciples. These amazing lessons. That. As. They. Are living. Here. In this world. The washing. Of the feet. Represent. Washing. By the water. By the word of God. Which is. Refreshing us. And cleansing us. And. And having fellowship. With God. When we are. Having. This. Fit. Washing. It is. Symbolically. Here. But the Lord. Seeked. To teach. Peter. This lesson. And all. The disciples. That are sitting. There. In the feast. Of Passover. But Peter.

Said to him. Lord. You will. Never. Wash. My feet. Notice. What the answer. Of the Lord. Was to Peter. He said to him. Yeshua. Said to Peter. If I wash. The not. If you. Will not allow me. To wash. Your feet. Notice. My dear friend. He used the word. No part. With me. The word. With me. Suggests. Fellowship. The word. The word. With me. Suggests. A fellowship. With the Lord. In other words. If I don't. Wash. Your feet. You will not. Have. Fellowship. With me. It was. Important. For. Peter. To learn. This lesson. And it is important. For us. To learn. This lesson. That. We.

As believers. Need. On an. On. On. Going. Basis. To have. Our feet. Which represent. Our walk. Here. In this world. Washed. And wash. Washing. The feet. Represent. That's what the Lord. Is seeking. To teach. The apostles. And especially. Peter. That they will never. Be able. That he. Will never. Be able. To have. Fellowship. With the Lord. Unless. He. Will. Have. An. On. Going. Fellowship. Through. The word. Of. God. Through. Prayer. Through. Hearing. Of. The scriptures. Through. Sharing. With. Others. About. The things. Of. God. Otherwise. They will never. Be able. To have fellowship. With the Lord. Jesus. Jesus. That's why. He used. The word. If I do not.

Wash. Your feet. You have. No. Part. With. Me. So. This. Is. Essential. To remind. You. That. Peter. Me. By. Not. Wanting. Yeshua. To wash. His feet. Because. He didn't want. The Lord. The Messiah. To wash. His own feet. It should be vice versa. Practically. Speaking. But. He needed. To understand. That the Lord. Want. To teach him. Of the need. To have. An ongoing. Cleansing. For those. That are. Are. His. Servants. Those. That are. Going. To serve. The Lord. Jesus. The Messiah. There must be. An ongoing. Washing. Of the feet. On. Going. Cleansing. For refreshment. And fellowship. So you notice. What we find. Here. In the next verse.

Verse 9. Verse 9. Peter said unto him. Lord. If. If that means that. I will not have fellowship. With you. Then. He said to him. In verse 9. Lord. Not only my feet now. But also my hands. And my head. See. Peter. Now. Now wanted. At first. He didn't want. Even his feet. To be washed. By Yeshua. The Messiah. Now he wanted. A complete bath. Because he. Meant. Well. To understand. To understand. A second. Important. Lesson. As you and I. Need to understand. And that's why Yeshua. Is teaching. The disciples. And Peter. And you and I. Today. When he said. Jesus says unto him. He that is. Washed.

This is based already. He does not accept. To wash his feet. But he is clean. Every whit. And ye are clean. But not all. You see. What Yeshua. Is seeking. To teach the disciples. That. They. Because they have. Trusted in him. And they believe. On the Lord Jesus. The Messiah. Once they have. Accepted him. They are completely. Washed. And they are cleansed. They are cleansed. Positionally. But as they walk. Here in this world. They will need. To have an. On. Going. Washing. Of the feet. Which represent. The walk. Of the believer. You see. My dear. Brothers. And sisters. And dear friend. Every true. Believer. In the Lord Jesus.

The Messiah. Is once. And for all. Cleansed. Positionally. The believers. Are cleansed. Are washed. By the blood. Of the lamb. But we need. On an. Ongoing basis. To have. Our feet. Washed. Why? Because the feet. Represent. Our walk. Here in this world. We get dirty. We get dirty. Meaning we. Sin. Come into our life. That which is. Dishonoring. To the Lord. Come into our life. Many times. We fail. And we stumble. To walk. In this world. So we have. To understand. That positionally. The believer. Is once. And for all. Cleansed. But we need. An ongoing. Washing. Of the feet. Representing. The daily. Cleansing. And how do we have.

These daily. Cleansing. By having. Fellowship. With the. Lord. Through. His. Word. This is very. Precious. To understand. We read. In 1st Corinthians. Chapter 6. And verse 9. Know ye know. That the unrighteous. Shall not inherit. The kingdom of God. Be not deceived. Neither the fornicators. And idolaters. And adulterers. And effeminate. Nor abusers. Of themselves. With mankind. Nor thieves. Nor covetous. Nor drunkards. Nor thieves. Nor extortioners. Shall inherit. The kingdom of God. And listen. What he said. Apostle Paul. To the Corinthians. And such. Were. Some. Of you. Verse 11. But he continues. And he says. But ye are washed. But ye are. Sanctified. But ye are. Justified. In the name.

Of our Lord. Jesus. And by the spirit. Of our God. Corinthian. You are already washed. Positionally. But. Practically. There is always. The. The. Danger. As we walk. Here in this world. That our feet. Namely. That our walk. Will not. Be pleasing. To the Lord. Because sin. Is so easily. Beset. The people of God. And that's why. We need. Constant. Cleansing. As we repent. Of our sins. As we confess. Our sins. And come to the throne. Of grace. And find help. In time of need. Paul said. To Titus. In. Titus. Chapter 3. And he said. There. In verses 7. And 8. That being. Justified. By. His grace. We should.

Be made. Heirs. According. To the hope. Of eternal life. This is a faithful. Saying. And these things. I will. That thou confirm. Or affirm. Constantly. That they. Which have believed. In God. Might be careful. To maintain. Good works. These. Things. Are good. And profitable. Unto man. So we learn. That the believer. Is liable. To. Fall. And to stumble. Here in this world. And that's what. The lesson. That Yeshua. Is seeking. To teach. Peter. And his disciples. There. In the upper room. He washing. Their feet. If you. Will not have. Your feet. Washed by me. You have. No part. With me. Notice the word. With me.

He doesn't say. You have no part. In me. But no part. With me. But then. In verse 9. After. Shimon. Petros. Wanted. A bath. Yeshua. Explained himself. He that is washed. Need not. Save to wash. His feet. But is clean. Every wheat. But then he continues. And he says. And ye are clean. But not all. Why? Because there was one. Who was an unbeliever there. By the name of. Yehuda. Ishkariot. This is a great lesson to learn. Beloved brothers and sisters. Today. If you are a believer in the Lord Jesus the Messiah. You are already cleansed. Positionally. Whosoever believeth on him. Shall not perish. But have everlasting life.

Nothing shall separate us from the love of God. He that has the Son has life. He that has the Son has life. So positionally all believers are saved. Forgiven. But all believers. You and I. And all believers live here on earth. And as long as we are here. We stumble and we fall. And sin easily beset us. And therefore we need. Ongoing. The washing of the feet. Which represent. An ongoing. Restoration. Fellowship with the Lord. Enjoyment of his presence. Learning from his word. Sharing with him our burden. Confessing our sins. For if we confess our sins. He is faithful and just. To forgive us. And to cleanse us.

From all unrighteousness. First John. Chapter 1. And verse. 9. So now. As we are moving along. For verse 11. He knew. The one that will betray him. Therefore he said. Ye are not all clean. So now beloved brothers and sisters. In the same upper room. At the same feast of Pesach. The same time we see. In the next verses. Verses 12 to 17. How Yeshua. Relating. To the. Disciples. Not only now. To Shimon Petros. But also. To all the disciples. Notice what we read. In verse 12. He finished. To wash the disciples feet. He asked a question. He asked the disciples. Do you know. Have I done unto you. Have I done unto you.

We read this. At the end of verse 12. After he washed their feet. Can you imagine. He took the time. To wash everyone's feet. This is. Amazing. To think of the grace. Of the Lord. The disciples. Were sinners. The disciples. Were failing. People like you. Like me. Yeshua. God the Son. As man. Washing their feet. Then. When he finished. To wash their feet. He had taken back. His outward garments. He sat down. Again. Now. At the table. And he said. To his disciples. Now he's speaking. To all of them. Do you know. What I've done to you. Do you see. What I've sought to teach you.

By washing your feet. So we read. In verse. Thirteen. He said to them. Ye call me. Master. And Lord. The word for master. Is Rabbi. And the word for Lord. Is Adon. Rav. Ve'adon. Rabbi. Ve'adoni. My teacher. My master. And my Lord. My Lord. You call me. Master. And Lord. And ye say. Well. Yeshua said to the disciples. For I am. I am your Rabbi. Your teacher. And I am your Lord. Your Adon. Shalachem. Your master. And your Lord. If then. Notice verse fourteen. He reversed. Yeshua reversed the wording. If then. Your Lord. Now notice. He reverses. If your Lord. And master. Have washed. Your feet.

Your feet. He also ought to wash. One another's feet. If I did this to you. If I washed. Your feet. Disciples. Talmidim. If I did this for you. And I am the one. That is your Lord. And I am your master. I am your. Rabbi. Your teacher. What an example. He said. If I did so. To you. You ought to do this. To one another. Father. You know. Washing feet. Is very humbling. It means. That one has to. Take a basin. To gird himself. To put water in the basin. To go on his knees. To take the disciples. Or any friend. Or any. Follower of Yeshua.

To take their feet. And to begin. To wash their. Dirty feet. With his hands. And water. And then. And to dry them. With a towel. It speaks. Of humility. It speaks. Of going down. And you know. Beloved. Brothers and sisters. And dear friend. If there is anything. That is difficult. For all of us. Is. Difficulty. To humble. Before the Lord. How many times. We are exhorted. In scripture. To be. Humble. Before the Lord. You remember. What we read. In first Peter. Peter said this. The one. That said. To the Lord. You will not. Wash my feet. Later on. He said. To the. Ones. To whom.

He wrote. And Peter. Was the one. That was. The apostle. To the circumcision. To his Jewish brethren. He said to them. In. In. First Peter. Chapter five. He says. To the youngest. Submit yourself. Unto the elder. He says. He all of you. Be subject. One to another. Be close. With humility. Why? Because God. Resists. The proud. But he. Gives grace. Unto the humble. Humble yourself. Under the mighty hand. Of God. And he will. Exalt you. In due time. Where did Peter. Receive. This information. That he is teaching. These early believers. To whom. He was writing. While he had. Learned from. His master. Here. Because. His master.

Said to him. The Messiah. In John. Chapter 13. And verse. 14. If I. Then. Your Lord. And your master. Have washed. Your feet. He also. He also. Ought. To wash. One another's feet. Now. This is. Something. That we all. Can apply. And learn this. For ourselves. In our life. If we ever. Want to serve. The Lord. We need to learn. From the Lord. And we know. How difficult. It is. For us. To be humble. Before the Lord. Because God. Resists. The proud. And he. Give grace. Unto the humble. Peter. Of course. Was quoting. The book. Of Proverbs. What Solomon. Wrote. In Proverbs. Chapter 3. How important. It is.

Beloved. Brothers. And sisters. To be. The kind. Of a person. With an attitude. Of humility. If we. Will ever. Be able. To serve. The Lord. And serve. God's people. To do. We read. In James. Yaakov. Also. Said. In his. Writing. He said. In the. Fourth. Chapter. God. He said. But he. Gives. More. Grace. Wherefore. He said. God. Resisteth. The proud. But giveth. Grace. Unto. The humble. Quoting. Proverbs. 3. Verse. 34. This is the. Character. We. As believers. Need. To develop. And. May God. Help. Help. Us. To do. So. In our. Life. As we. Serve him. Here. In this world. Your master. Have washed. Your feet. You are.

To wash. One. Another's feet. For. I've given. Notice. Verse 15. 16. And 17. Yeshua. Is saying. For. I've given you. An example. That he should do. As I have done. To you. Verily. Verily. I say. Unto you. The servant. Is not greater. Than. His Lord. Neither. He. That is sent. Greater. Than. He. That. Sent. Him. If. Ye. Know. These things. Verse 17. Happy. Are ye. If ye. Do them. The Lord. Jesus. The Messiah. Wanted. The believers. Not only. To know. These things. But. To do. These things. So. To do. The same thing. To learn. From the master. Is essential. As we serve. Our Lord. Yeshua. The Messiah. Here. In this world.

He said. To them. In these. Final verses. For this message. Verily. Verily. I say. Unto. You. The servant. Is not greater. Than. His Lord. Our Lord. Jesus. The Messiah. The Messiah. Set an example. Here. He. Revealed. Before us. The. Many. Whereby. God's. Servant. Are to serve. One another. This is very. Practical. And the only way. That we will be able. To. Behave. Like this. With an attitude. As servant. Is when. We have fellowship. With him. With him. And that's why. It is. Necessary. That our feet. Will be. Cleansed. On an. On. Going. Basis. We don't need to be. Bathed again. Namely. We do not. Need to be.

Re saved. Every time. No. Because our salvation. Our eternal. Relationship. With God. Through the person. Of the Lord. Jesus. Once. And for all. Done. When we believed. On the Lord. Jesus. The Messiah. But our. Enjoyment. Of. The relationship. That we have. And our ability. To serve. Here in this world. And to enjoy. The Lord. In our life. Is when. We have. Our feet. That are. Constantly. Getting. Dirty. Here in this world. Our feet. Need to be. Washed. We need. To have. This. Ongoing. Fellowship. With the Lord. And enjoyment. Of. Him. Now. In conclusion. I would like. Just to mention. One or two things. With respect.

To washing. To one another's feet. You see. Even then. When we. Seek to. Wash. And one another's feet. Symbolically. Mean. To encourage each other. To build each other up. This is. Very important. For us. To learn. How to minister. To one another. Because. Often time. We. Do not. Really know. How to minister. To one another. You see. When Yeshua. Washed. The disciples. Feet. When he put. The water. Into the basin. He made sure. We learn this. We see it. The water. Was refreshing. That the water. Was not too hot. Burning. The feet. Or too cold. Freezing. The feet. He have. Come. And approach. Everyone. Exactly.

We might say. With the right. Temperature. Of the water. That meet. The need. Of that person. You see. It's very easy. To be very critical. On the one hand. And very judgmental. On the other hand. On the other hand. And then. On the other hand. To be very. You might say. Not to say anything. And not being encouraging. Of anyone. It's. So easy. For us. To just simply. Not serve. Not minister. And even. When we do so. To be. Very judgmental. Very critical. Very. Uncaring. Not sensitive. And so. This lesson. Of washing. Of the feet. Because water. Always. Refreshment. Whenever. We read. About water. In the scripture.

It often. Speaks. About the. Washing. Of the water. By the word. To remind you. In Ephesians. Chapter 5. When we read. Husbands. Love your wife. As the Messiah. Loved the assembly. And gave himself. For her. We read. That. That he might. Cleanse her. With the washing. Of the water. By the word. The word of God. Water. In scripture. In scripture. Represents. God's word. So. If we will. Be able. To encourage. The disciples. The. The brothers. And sisters. We need to use. The word. Of God. But to use. The word of God. In such a way. That we will truly. Minister. To our. Brothers. Brothers. And sisters.

In such a way. That. The ministry. And the refreshing. Water. Of the word. Will be. That which will. Restore them. To fellowship. With the Lord. That will encourage them. That will build them up. And that will cause them to. Continue on. In following. Our Lord. Yeshua. The Messiah. If we put too much. Of hot water. We might say. They will. Burn their feet. If we put too much. Of cold water. They will freeze their feet. And they will not want. To be washed. By us. This is why. We need to learn. From our Lord. Jesus. The Messiah. Who is indeed. The servant. Of the Lord.

It reminds me. Of the verse. That the Isaiah. The prophet. Wrote. To our people. Seven hundred and fifty. Years. Before the Messiah. Even came. The verses. That are really. Encouraging. Us. In a ministry. Of the Lord. The first. A few verses. Of again. Isaiah. Chapter 42. Listen. To these words. God. Is speaking. Through the prophet. Isaiah. About his servant. Behold. My servant. Whom I uphold. Mine elect. In whom. My soul. Delighteth. I put. My spirit. Upon him. He shall. Bring forth. Judgment. To the Gentiles. He shall. Not cry. Nor lift up. Nor cause. His voice. To be heard. In the street. Then notice. Verse 3. The manner.

Of the service. Of the servant. Of the Lord. Is found. In verse 3. A bruised reed. Shall he not break. And a smoking flax. Shall he not quench. He shall bring forth. Justice. Unto truth. He. Shall. Not. Fail. Nor be discouraged. Until. He have said. Justice. In the earth. And the isles. Shall wait. For his law. Notice the expression. A bruised reed. Shall he not break. Verse 3. Of Isaiah 42. And a smoking flax. Shall he not quench. This is always touching my heart. When I think of these. Verse. A bruised reed. Represents someone. Who is broken. Or bruised. And the Lord. Jesus. The Messiah. Who is called.

Eved. Adonai. The. My servant. God called him. If he sees. Someone bruised. He will not. Ed. And he will not. Cause. That. Read. To be broken. No. He was straightened up. He will heal the wound. And he will seek that this. Read will stand. Firm. And not be broken. That what we need to learn. From Yeshua. The Messiah. To know how to be an encouragement. God's people. Wherever they are. And whatever situation. They find themselves in. On the other hand. We read. The smoking flax. Shall he not quench. If he see. A little smoke. For God. You might say. A little light. A little smoke.

A little. A little light. For God. He will not quench it. Not cause it to die. He will seek to. Cause more fire. Remember. Sometimes. My dear friend. We sing. It is only. Take a spark. To get a fire going. We need to learn. From Yeshua. The Messiah. Who was the servant. Of the Lord. In Hebrew. Eved. Yehovah. Eved Adonai. Who served. God. And. Was an example. To the disciples. And. To these disciples. He said. Ye call me. Master. And Lord. And ye say. Well. For I am. For. He said. In verse 14. If. Then. I. Your Lord. And master. Have washed. Your feet. Ye also ought.

To wash. One. Another's. Feet. The servant. Is not greater. Than his Lord. Neither he. That he sent. Is greater. Than he. That. Sent me. If you know. These things. Yeshua said. To the disciples. And he's saying it. To you and I. Happy. Are ye. If you do them. To know. Is one thing. But to do. Is another thing. May the Lord. Help us. To do. To behave. And to learn. From our master. Yeshua. The Messiah. And to be a blessing. To God's people. Especially. In a time. When they need. Encouragement. They need. To continue on. To follow. After the Lord. May God bless. His word.
