Okay shalom everyone today we are going to start another chapter in the book of Hebrews and that is chapter 9 so i like you all please to turn to Hebrews in the new covenant in the brit chapter 9 and i'm going to read the first 15 verses of this chapter Hebrews chapter 9 i'm reading from verses 1 to 15 now this is a very important chapter in light of the song that we have just sung you know we have sung i have come to worship the Lord we have sung in your holy sanctuary in the sanctuary we have come there to worship the Lord and the writer of the book of Hebrews the Hebrew writer who wrote to these early first century Jewish believers in Yeshua the Messiah he writes to them exactly about the subject that we just have been singing He's writing to them about the sanctuary, which in Hebrew we call it Mikdash.

He's writing to them about the Mikdash and about how the people of Israel historically receive instruction to build a sanctuary. A Mikdash, a place where God is dwelling in the midst of the nation of Israel. A place where God has His place in the midst of the nation, but He's also showing those Hebrew believers that there is a greater mikdash, there is a higher sanctuary, there is a superior sanctuary to which they should give attention. And that they should move on from the earthly sanctuary to the heavenly sanctuary where none else but the Messiah Himself, of this great high priest is serving in a heavenly sanctuary to which he is drawing the attention of the early first century Israeli Jewish Hebrew believers.

And now let me read the passage. Hebrews 9, verse 1. Then he said, Verily, the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service and an earthly sanctuary. For there was a tabernacle made, the first wherein was the lampstand and the table of the showbread, which is called the sanctuary or the holy place. After the second veil, the tabernacle, which is called the holiest of all, or the Kodesh HaKodeshim, which had a golden censer, a golden altar, and the Ark of the Covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had man and Aaron's rod that budded and the table of the covenant. And over it, the cherubims of glory, shadowing the mercy seat, of which we cannot now speak particularly.

Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, this is to the holy place, accomplishing the service of God. But into the second went the high priest, into the Kodesh HaKodeshim, the Holy of Holies, went the high priest alone once every year and not without blood, which he offered first of all for himself and then for the arrows of the people. The Holy Spirit is signifying that the way into the Holy of Holies was not yet made manifest, while the first tabernacle was yet standing, which was, and listen to this, a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices that could not make him that did the service perfect as pertaining to conscience, which stood only in foods and drinks and diverse washings and carnal ordinances imposed on them until the time of reformation.

And that meaning the time of reformation, it simply means the time of the fulfillment, where God finally was going to fulfill what he's spoken, or the time of setting things right. Now, verse 11. But Mashiach, being come and high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation, of this building, neither by the blood of goats and kelp, but by his own blood, he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of bulls and of gold and the ashes of Haifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Mashiach, who through the eternal spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.

And for this cause, he is the mediator of a new covenant that by the means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions which were under the first covenant, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. And I stop here with the reading. Now, beloved brothers and sisters, really, when we read such a chapter as this, it is perhaps immediately misunderstood, or maybe you don't glean a lot from this as you read but as you take it apart and you see verse by verse what we have here then you will understand a little bit more why does the Hebrew writer write this such a chapter to those early first century Hebrew believers in Yeshua the Messiah and why it is applied to us you and I today.

In this present day those of us who are Christians who are Messiah followers who have accepted Yeshua the Messiah as our Lord and as our Savior remember he just finished to deal in chapter 8 with the new covenant the new covenant which God had made in the person of Yeshua the Messiah a new covenant that is no longer on a basis of conditional covenant Mount Sinai but it is the new covenant that God had made in the blood of our blessed Lord Yeshua the Messiah so we have a greater priest in chapter 7 we have a greater covenant a superior covenant in chapter 8 and in chapter 9 we have a superior sanctuary to worship our God.

It is the one that is in heaven rather than the one that was here on earth when God had given this to his own people Israel. Now many times when I hear the passage such as this taught, it is so unfortunate that people neglect to realize that it is not the Jewish people who decided or told God, you know God what we want to do? We want you to show us how we can worship you and therefore give us the instruction how to do so. It was not Israel who requested it, but it was God Himself who gave instruction to the people of Israel how they are to worship Him.

He is the one who instituted the sanctuary. He is the one who told them where to come to. He is the one who set this order. It was not the nation of Israel at all. And because he gave this to the people of Israel, our own people of all, he is expecting from them to learn from this and to understand what it is speaking about. That it's speaking more than just about merely rituals, but it's speaking about his beloved son. So this we have to set immediately in order here as we learn from this chapter. He is writing to Jewish believers. They became believers in Yeshua the Messiah.

They had an inclination to go back to the temple. They wanted to worship in the temple. They wanted to offer sacrifice in the temple again. They wanted to go through the ritual with the high priest again. And he said to them, wait a minute, what are you doing? All those things which I have given to Israel, the nation, your people were pointing to the Messiah. And when the Messiah come, he is serving in a superior sanctuary, in a superior bet mikdash. It is in a superior tabernacle, not anymore made with hands, but in the heavens, which is the pattern which the sanctuary had been received from, the heavenly pattern.

So he's saying right now, in verses 1 to 10, he showed them five reasons why the old sanctuary is inferior to the new sanctuary. Why the earthly sanctuary is inferior to the heavenly sanctuary. And notice what he first does immediately in verse 1. First of all, he tells them in verse 1 the first reason why the earthly or the fleshly or the worldly sanctuary is inferior is because it was here on earth. It was not made in heaven. It was an earthly one. Look what he says in verse 1. Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service and of earthly sanctuary. You see what he's saying? When I have given to my people Israel the covenant, the law in Mount Sinai, I've given to them with an instruction to build a sanctuary, to build a tabernacle.

And the tabernacle had been built. God had given this instruction to the people of Israel. And why because they were supposed to have service there there was as it says here it was a divine services which had to be function every day so the priest had to work there the high priest has to serve there there were sacrifices offered them but the problem with this earthly sanctuary it was here made on earth it was not the one in heaven it was fleshly it was earthly it was worldly It was for here and now. It was not for eternity. Secondly, he's saying to them in verses 2, 3, 4, and 5, that it was, this particular sanctuary was a type.

It was a picture. It was a shadow. It was not the real thing. Notice what he says in verse 2. For there was a tabernacle made, the first, wherein the candlesticks and the table and the showbread, which is called the sanctuary. And then there was the second veil of the tabernacle, which is called the Holy of All, which had the golden censer and the ark and so on, and the covenant overlaid round about with gold and so on. And you notice in verse 5, it says they had the cherubim and the glory of the mercy seat and so on, of which we cannot speak particularly right now.

It says those things and those elements or those furniture were shadowed. They were picture. They were not the essence. They only pointed to the coming of the Messiah. And beloved, if you have a chance to study the tabernacle, you will see that every article in the tabernacle pointed to Yeshua the Messiah. He mentioned, first of all, the lampstand. Here we have the lampstand before us, and we can see the lampstand, the sevenfold Spirit of God, which is rested upon the person of Yeshua the Messiah. That's what it symbolized. It's only symbolized that when they went and Aaron and the priests were lighting the candles and giving light in the tabernacle, it was beautiful, but it was a type, it was a shadow.

And that's why he says to them, there was the lampstand. There was also, in verse 2, the table of showbread. The table of showbread had on top of it 12 loaves, and the 12 loaves represented the 12 tribes of Israel. And they were united on the table, while outside they were divided in the presence of God in the tabernacle. They were united together. There were 12 loaves. And the 12 loaves represented also the person of Yeshua, the Messiah, who is the bread of life. The priests fed on these loaves. Every Shabbat they were exchanging those, bringing a fresh one, and they were eating in the sanctuary these loaves, and they were feeding on those loaves.

That was a type of our blessed Lord Yeshua the Messiah, who is the bread of life, the bread from heaven. Then he continued on, and notice what he says in verse 3, after the second veil. You see, the tabernacle were divided into two sections. The first section was the section where we had the lampstand and the table of showbread and also the altar of incense. And then there is inside the second veil, there was the Holy of Holies, Kodesh HaKodeshim. And there the Ark of the Covenant was. And on top of it, there was the mercy seat with those two cherubims that are guarding the holiness of God.

So there was those articles or those furnitures in the tabernacle, but there were services that are being done all the time. They had to go in to light the lampstand, to keep it alive, to keep it light. They had to take the bread, exchange the bread. And once a year, and that's what he's saying in verse 3, after the second veil of the tabernacle, which is called the holiest of all, which had the golden censer or the golden altar and the Ark of the Covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had the manna and Aaron's rod, which budded, and the table of the covenant.

Now, let me pause here for a moment. If you were reading Exodus, you would find out that this golden censer, which is the golden altar, actually in Exodus, this particular altar was not inside the Holy of Holies. It was just in front of the Holy of Holies in the holy place. And for some reason, the Hebrew writer here, who wrote to these early first century Jewish believers, told those Hebrew believers that the censer or the golden altar was inside the second veil, in the Holy of Holies. Now, do you think he made a mistake? You know, many people take this passage and say, you see, your Bible is not correct.

There is miscommunication in the Old Testament. It said that it was in a holy place. In the New Testament, it says it was in the Holy of Holies. What's the problem? But the writer knew very well his Bible. He was writing to Hebrew believers in Yeshua the Messiah who knew very well where the golden altar is supposed to be. But I'll tell you what he does here. He does, and he's speaking to the Hebrew believers and to you and I. He says, really, the golden censer, this altar, on which there was incense placed upon it, and there was the smoke of the incense rise up to God.

And these incenses represent the praise and the prayers of the saints of God. And what did he tell us here? He tells us something that is extremely interesting. He tells those Hebrew believers, listen, brethren, You got to move into the immediate presence of God. Don't remain in the holy place only where there is service and service and service and service, but move in to the immediate presence of God where you can worship the Lord in spirit and in truth. And this golden altar, now we see this altar inside the Holy of Holies and the rise of the smoke of the incense that the smell reached to God and God smells it and approve of it and appreciate the praises and the prayers of the people of God and this is a great lesson for those Hebrews and for you and i as well you know beloved brothers and sisters unless we cultivate in our life a lifestyle of worshiping the Lord Jesus the Messiah we will never be able to serve him in a proper place in a proper way unless we learn to go into the holy of holies before even we do any services our service will be merely ritual and not coming out of the heart of a worshiper and that's why many times we have problems to get people to serve the Lord it's very hard to get people to say listen why don't you do something for the Lord Jesus the Messiah why don't you serve him do something out of your heart for the Lord well it's very hard to.

Get people to be motivated to serve the Lord and you know why i can tell you why is because service and ritualistic action never give us joy in our hearts. What will give you and I, what will give those Hebrews of all joy in their hearts is when they go further into the Holy of Holies and there they worship the Lord Jesus the Messiah with sincerity and truth. When they can look to Him, when we can look to Him, and we can thank him for what he has done for us and we can tell him Lord I don't deserve to be in your presence and you gave your life for me you shed your blood for me your Jesus I thank you for what you have done for me and out of this worship I can come out and I can begin to serve the Lord in sincerity and truth and beloved I don't know if you have had this sometime in our life we come to a meeting and we've been so much engaged with the Lord we've been so much occupied with what he had done and who he is not what I need and what I want and how I'm supposed to do things for him and how I need to get this and somebody needs to do this for me no, what he is to the heart of God and then you see the difference you come out of the meeting all of a sudden you become a real servant.

Of our blessed Lord Jesus the Messiah nobody have to motivate you and to beg you to do something for the Lord you will do it out of the abundant of your heart out of love for the Lord Jesus the Messiah and that's what he does here beloved listen he's telling to those Hebrew believers you want to go to go a ritualistic activity and do this and do that and offer sacrifices and go through the lighting of the candles and washing on the laver and all these external things, it will never make you a true servant and worshiper of our blessed Lord Yeshua the Messiah. That's why he's shifting, he's moving the golden censer or the golden altar from the holy place, a place of service, to the holy of holies, a place of worship.

Where God is there dwelling in the midst of the cherubim and where their worship unto Him is being there. Do you remember, I can tell you some New Testament stories. For example, Mary and Martha. Mary and Martha, a great story. When Yeshua was in the home of Mary and Martha and Yeshua was teaching and Miriam was sitting at His feet and listening to Him. But Martha, she was serving, you see. And she did the good thing to serve. But you know what she did? She came to the Lord and said, Lord, don't you care about me? Can you tell Mary, my sister, to come and serve with me?

Can you tell her? Because look, I work very hard and she is just sitting at your feet and learning from what you have to say to her and she is worshipping you. So the Lord said to her, Martha, Martha, Mary has chosen the better place. She has worshipped the Lord and then she could come up and serve Him out of the abundance of her heart because of the fact that she, first of all, worshiped him and you know beloved brothers and sisters i'm telling you and i'm speaking to myself just like the Hebrew writer spoke to the Hebrew believers you and i will never serve the Lord in a proper way unless first of all we sit at his feet and occupied with him it's not what we do it's whom we worship it's not how we do is who we are occupied with and i remember time when i used to go to meetings and just to sit at the chair and think about what the Lord has done for me.

And I left the meeting and my heart was so overwhelmed with the work of the Lord Jesus for the Messiah for me that I wanted to do something for Him. Not because somebody gave me something or somebody tapped me on my shoulder or because I have been doing some activity and because somebody looked at me and said wow this man is a great guy look what he done. It's because of love for the Lord Yeshua the Messiah and because of what he is and what he have done and so he moves the golden censer the golden altar from the holy place a place of service to the holy of holies a place of worship and that's why he's saying to those Hebrew believers he says listen he says there is a cherubim the glory overshadowing the mercy seat of which we cannot speak about this particularly right now he wanted to lead them on from the earthly sanctuary to the heavenly sanctuary from the literal physical activity to the spiritual worship where they can worship the Lord in spirit and truth and you remember it was also the samaritan woman in John chapter 4 where she met Yeshua the Messiah at the well.

And she says, you, how come you, a Jew, is speaking to me as a Samaritan woman? You worship on this mountain, but we worship on this mountain. And Yeshua said to him, there is coming a day when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. It's not our activities that make things right in our relationship with the Lord, but it is our individual relationship with our blessed Lord Yeshua the Messiah it's not even the meeting hall where we meet here and when we gather together to hear the word of God is our individual life in which we fail so much in which we lack worshiping and adoring our blessed Lord Yeshua the Messiah there it is starting and that's what he's saying to them don't go only to the holy place, but move within the veil into the immediate presence of God.

And I'm thinking about those Hebrew believers. The writer is telling them, listen, it's a new covenant that had been made and it had been made this new covenant that a sanctuary is no longer here on earth. It is in heaven. And I can tell you this and I'm speaking for myself, no lighting candles and no reciting the Shema and or anything that we do externally make us worshipers. What makes us worshipers is our personal relationship with our blessed Lord Yeshua the Messiah in the immediate presence of God. And that's why you find today in the church of the Lord Jesus the Messiah all kind of ritualistic things.

Including, by the way, even baptism that was given by God. But many people get baptized. You see, they got to the water, they go in the water and come out of the water, and they live their life the same way like it was before. It's a ritual, you see. We've gone for the ritual. Many people break bread and drink the wine, but they carry on and they live as they want, including us. So the ritual is not it. It's a relationship with the Lord. And that's what he's saying here. He's saying there was a sanctuary, there was a lampstand, There was the table, there was the golden censer, the golden altar, but it takes us within the veil and it rises to God and it gives him the worship and the honor that he deserves.

Could you turn to a verse in Psalm 141? Just one verse there. Psalm 141. Look what David said about this. David understood that it's not the ritual that is important, it is the heart of the believer that is important in relationship with the Lord. He says in Psalm 141 verses 1 and 2, Lord, I cry unto thee, make haste unto me, give ear unto my voice when I cry unto thee, and listen, let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense, and lift him up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. You notice this word? Let my prayer be sent forth to thee as the incense. Which incense, David, you are speaking about?

The incense from the altar of incense in the tabernacle, which rose up and brought before the Lord. And it was the prayer and the praises of the people of God that comes before the heart of God. And God receives it. And God has the joy of having His people lifting up their prayers and praises unto Him. And David said it already in the Psalms. And so, beloved, he's writing now, the writer, and he's talking about the superior sanctuary that the Messiah is serving there and that he's expecting the believers, the Hebrews, first century believers, you and I today, to go into this presence of God, into this sanctuary, where we can enjoy the presence of the Lord.

And then now we continue, and I'm moving now to verse 6 and 7. Here's the third reason why this sanctuary on earth is inferior. Here's the third reason, because it was inaccessible to people. Nobody could get into the holy place. Notice it says in verse 6 now when these things were thus ordained the priests went always into the first tabernacle this is the holy place accomplishing the service of God but into the second this is Kodesh HaKodeshim the holy of holies when the high priest alone once every year and not without blood which he offered first for himself and then for the heirs of the people You see, it was inaccessible.

They could not go into the Holy of Holies. They could not. Only the high priest could do it once a year. And now, when he came into the immediate presence of God, in the Holy of Holies, he couldn't come in without blood sacrificed, first of all for himself, his family, and also for the people of Israel. And that takes us, by the way, to Yom Kippur, We're going to talk about Yom Kippur sometime in the beginning of October. Yom Kippur, the day of atonement, in which once, one month, Aaron could come, the high priest could come into the Holy of Holies, the Kodesh HaKodeshim, but he first of all had to deal with his own personal problem, the sin of his own, and the sins of his family, and then the sins of the nation.

He had to bring the blood. And so therefore, it is inferior because of the fact that no one could get into the immediate presence of God in the earthly sanctuary. He's directing them now to the heavenly sanctuary because here on earth there was limitation. It was limited. They could not come into the immediate presence of God. That's why he's saying to them, only the priests and the high priests could go into the holy place but Aaron himself alone could go to the holy of holies and you can read it by the way in Leviticus chapter 16. Now he's moving on and look at he's leading us now to the heavenly sanctuary where the Lord Yeshua is there and so in verse 8 now he gives us the fourth reason why?

Why the old covenant and the old sanctuary is inferior? Well the fourth reason is in verse 8 because the old covenant and the old sanctuary was built for a temporary season look what he says in verse 8 the Holy Spirit signifying that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest while as the first tabernacle was yet standing. You see what he's saying? The Holy Spirit taught these Jewish people, the people of Israel, our own people of old, it taught our people of old or it should have taught the nation of Israel that the holy or the way to the Kodesh HaKodeshim was not yet manifest but it is going to be manifested.

It is going to come. It is going to be in the future when the Messiah will come. It is going to come. Wait, do what God had given to you. But when the Messiah had come, the door had been opened. The veil had been rented. But until this time, it was a temporary sanctuary where the veil existed there and they could not come any nearer to the immediate presence of God. And so in verse 9 and 10, he tells them the fifth reason why this earthly sanctuary is inferior. And he tells them in verses 9 and 10 that it was all the services that have happened in the sanctuary there were only external and not internal.

Notice verses 9 and 10. Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts, sacrifices, listen, that could not make him the deed, the service perfect as returning to his conscience, which stood only in food and in drinks and in diverse washings and fleshly or carnal ordinances imposed on them until the time of the reformation or the setting things in order. You see, listen, all those things which our people have done, going to the first brazen altar, offering the sacrifice, moving to the laver, washing their hands, going into the holy place, preserving the candle lid with the light, Going to the table of Shoboam, exchanging the bread.

Going to the altar, putting incense and burning incense. Going to the Holy of Holies and pouring the blood before the Ark of the Covenant. All those things, as it says here in verses 9 and 10, which were figure for that time present. They were only a picture. Now let's assume, beloved brothers and sisters, that you and I are going to go today, we're going to go through washings. Let's say we're going to come to the meeting every Shabbat and we're going to go through a laver and wash our hands. Does that deal with your heart? Let's say we're even going to light the candles every day of the week.

Does that deal with the heart? Let's say we are going to take a table of showbread and we change the showbread every week. Does that deal with the internal condition of the heart? Not at all. It is only dealing with the flesh. And that's why ritualism is a danger thing. People think that they are more religious. The more they have ritualism, they think that they please God more. And by the way, you and I are just the same. You and I are just as guilty as many others. We have rituals that we have developed in our life that we think that God is more happy with my ritual activity.

When we haven't dealt with our own hearts and conscience before the Lord. And rituals do not make things right with God. And nothing wrong with the rituals, but it doesn't make our hearts right with God. Even for the believer, not only the unbeliever, even the believer. So many rituals we have in our lives that we have to be extremely careful that it doesn't take us away from a personal relationship with our Lord Yeshua the Messiah. Rituals in themselves are not a problem. Is the making the rituals to assume that through the rituals I will please God more? No. God loves us with the rituals and without the rituals.

Yeshua died for us with the rituals and without the rituals. It does not make God love us more because we have some kind of a ritual activity. In fact, sometimes it interferes with the enjoyment of our relationship with the Lord. And that's what He's saying to them. All those things were figured for the time then in which were both offered all kinds of sacrifices that could not make Him that did the service perfect. It's pertaining to his conscience. Don't you feel that sometimes, beloved brothers and sisters? We go through the motions of a ritual, but our conscience is not happy, is not clean before the Lord.

We know that sin creeps into our life, and we know we were not right with God, but we continue with the ritual. And it didn't give us peace. Why? Because it's the ritual that does not change. God wants affection in our hearts and that's why thank God that we have confession that we can confess if we confess our sins he's faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness that's why we can turn to him and say Lord i know that i've gone through the routine but my heart was not right with you Lord and i please i beseech you to restore my soul David said this restore unto me the joy of thy salvation he never said restore unto me thy salvation but the joy of thy salvation why because David knew that what he did was not pleasing to the Lord with all the rituals that he did he needed to be restored and God restored him God restored him he was saved all along he was a child of God all along but he needed restoration of his soul and the Lord restored.

He restores my soul. We read it in a Psalm. And that's what happened here. All those things were figured for that present time but it could not give the one that come in a service any perfection with respect to his conscience. His conscience was not right. Still, they brought the sacrifices. They killed the animal. They shed the blood and they went they brought the sacrifice killed the animal shed the blood and they've gone went through the laver washed their hands fixed the light ate the bread went to the altar of incense now I remind you it's not that it was wrong in itself God had given them to them but now the Messiah has come and when the Messiah has come He wanted them to move on to the Lord Yeshua the Messiah to move on from the earthly to the heavenly from the earthly sanctuary to the heavenly sanctuary from the old covenant to the new covenant from the old high priest to the high priest the person of the Lord Yeshua the Messiah to be occupied with him and to have a relationship with the Lord himself and now look what he does now in the next verses quickly in verses 11 12 13 and 14 look what the writer is turning the picture to show to these believers he is now moving from the earthly.

Sanctuary to the person of the Lord Yeshua the Messiah who is serving in the heavenly sanctuary notice the word but in verse 11 all what i told you Hebrew believers about the earthly sanctuary about the earthly services about the earthly sacrifices that had been offered and all the Activity of the earthly, now he's moving to the heavenly. And in verse 11 of Hebrews chapter 9, he used the word but. All this in contrast now, but the Messiah became a high priest of good things to come. By a greater and a more perfect tabernacle, you notice he's using the word tabernacle, Not made with hands. That is to say, not of this building.

Using the word for building, really, not of this creation. You see, he's telling them in verse 11 that this sanctuary that the Messiah is serving is not made with hands. It is not made here on earth. It is a heavenly sanctuary where the Messiah is serving. Don't be occupied with the earthly sanctuary. Be occupied with the heavenly sanctuary. But the Messiah, being come a high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hand, that is to say, not of this building, not of this creation. It is in heaven. In verse 12, he tells them that the ministry of the heavenly sanctuary is really effective to deal with our sin problem as believers, Not only the unbelievers needed to be dealt with sin, but even the believers need to deal with the question of sin and sins that rise up in our life.

Notice he said in verse 12, Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. You see, he entered in by the value of his very own blood that he shed here on the tree. He entered into the immediate presence of God in the virtue and the value of his own blood. Not like Aaron. Aaron had to bring a blood of bulls and goats in order to have his own issues to deal with, his own sins to be cleansed. But no, it's not like so with the Messiah, with Yeshua. Neither by the blood of goats and by the blood of calves, but by his own blood.

You notice what he does here? He takes us back to the cross. He takes them back to the time where Yeshua have died on the tree. And you know, when he died on the tree, beloved brothers and sisters. He did not die for himself. He died for those Hebrews and for you and I. He did not have to deal with sins that he committed. He dealt with sins that they committed and you and I committed. He died on the tree and shed his blood and he entered in, how many times? One time. Once into the holy place the holy of holies he obtained for you and i not a temporary redemption but eternal redemption eternal redemption you see what he does here he's speaking to those Hebrew believers and he says brethren you see the Messiah is different than what everyone have done the covenant that the Messiah is serving under is different than the old covenant.

The ministry in the sanctuary that he ministered is different than the one that Aaron does or the high priests of Israel do because he entered in the value of his own blood. And he did not have to repeat it. He had done it only one time. See, they're probably sitting and thinking when reading that letter. They see the temple service is going on and they have to make a decision. They had to grow up and to mature. It was difficult because the families are there, the nation is there, the ritual that they have experienced for a generation, 2,500 years or so, how many years that they have been experiencing these rituals from the tabernacle to the temple and so on, and they had to make a decision.

Would I move forward and do mature and go into the service of the heavenly sanctuary, or am I going back to that old sacrificial system which have been ordained by God. And they had to make that decision. And so he's telling them, listen, he entered once, it was in the valley of his blood, and he accomplished and obtained for you not only redemption for a season, but eternal redemption. When somebody asks you, when somebody asks those Hebrews, and asks us today, how do you know that you're eternally saved? Maybe you're going to get lost one day. How do you know that you're secure with the Lord and your sins are forgiven and you're never going to have to deal anymore and to be judged for the sins that you have committed?

Well, because the Messiah had accomplished eternal redemption. It's not a temporary redemption, but it is eternal. It's forever and ever and ever and ever and ever. And we need not doubt the fact that we are saved if we have accepted Yeshua the Messiah. Why? Because He has accomplished eternal redemption for us, according to verse 12. And He continues now in verse 13 and 14, and He shows us that the Messiah's blood sacrifice purified our conscience. Purified us. It says, For if the blood of bulls and of goats and the ashes of Haifel sprinkled the unclean, sanctified to the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of the Messiah, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot unto God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God you see by the way you remember when i started in the meetings today and i said that we are talking about serving the Lord and worshiping the Lord you see what he said in verse 14 purify your conscience from dead works you see sometimes we do works but our works are dead why they are dead because they are not coming out of a heart that is being in the presence of the Lord have been in the presence of Yeshua the Messiah as a worshiper first and then come out of the presence of the Lord and went out to serve Him out of a heart of love for him and then it's become not dead works but living works and we become as we read in Romans.

Chapter 12 to present your bodies a living sacrifices pleasing to God, acceptable to God, that's the difference, that's why beloved brothers and sisters sometime he's writing to believers, remember he doesn't write to unbelievers he's writing to you and to I and to me because many times our works are dead. It comes out of merely ritualism and not out of relationship with our blessed Lord. And here is the blood of Yeshua the Messiah through the eternal spirit he offered himself without spot to God to purge. Not only to clean our external bodies you know somebody said the other day I heard somebody said many times people that are so filthy and dirty in their bodies they think if they're going to buy a new suit they're going to be better they're going to be clean so they buy a new suit and then they feel dirty again they buy a new suit they feel dirty again but the new suit does not change the inside what they need and what you and I need is that He will purge our conscience that we will be able to serve Him and to serve Him not to do dead works but to have living works to serve the living God he's a living God he's a God who is alive he's a God who deals with us he loves us he knows our needs he knows our problem he knows those Hebrews situation and that's why he said what the blood of the Messiah have done he offered himself by the eternal spirit so we will be able not to go to the temple.

And go through the rituals merely but to serve him from the abundance of our heart and that's why beloved brothers and sisters we are reminded again and again how we are to be constantly desiring to come into the presence of the Lord so he will help us to serve him to serve the true and living God in verse 15 he says and with this i'm going to conclude the Messiah's death provided eternal inheritance for the believer. He says in verse 15, for this cause, he is the mediator of a new covenant that by the means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

You notice, by the way, I don't know if you noticed that, but there are three times the word eternal mentioned in this passage. In verse 12, is the eternal redemption. In verse 14, it is in the value and the power of the eternal spirit. In verse 15, is an eternal inheritance that we received because of the work. Of our Lord Yeshua, the Messiah. You see, by the way, this is one of the reasons why we believe that the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, was the eternal Son. If there is an eternal Spirit, there is an eternal Son. He was the eternal Son. In eternity past, He was the Son.

Just the same like the eternal Spirit have existed and the eternal Father. But in the fullness of time, He came to this world and He became a man and he paid the penalty for us on the tree. And so many people will ask, why do we talk about the blood so much? The blood by his own blood. The blood of the Messiah. It was the death of the Messiah. You believers talking about the blood, the blood. Why the blood, someone may ask. And the answer is biblical and very simple. The life of the flesh is in the blood. The blood of a person represents the life of a person.

And if he will be able to forgive a sinner and to bring a sinner back to himself, the life has to be taken away from that person, namely the Lord Yeshua, the Messiah. And that's why he had to shed his own blood. That's why by the blood of the Messiah he have dealt once and for always the question of sin and through the eternal spirit he offered himself unto God without spot in order that you and I will have eternal inheritance. Brothers and sisters, here we go in closing, these final remarks. Hebrews chapter 9 takes us from earthly sanctuary to a heavenly sanctuary. From ritualizing, which we do have, like those Hebrews of old have had and many of us have today, to a real relationship with the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua, the Messiah.

From the holy place, a place of service, into the Holy of Holies, where the altar of incense has been brought into the Holy of Holies, where the praises rise up to God, and God receives the prayers and the praises of His own people, Out of our worshiping hearts, the delight to worship our blessed Lord, Yeshua the Messiah. May the Lord help us to move in, into the immediate presence of God, in our own personal life, to give time to God in our lives every day, to give Him some time for Him, to be occupied with Him, to read our Bible, to pray, to thank Him for what He has done for us, to pray for the next situation that is ahead of us, So we will be able to serve him in a way that it will be pleasing to him.

Can you say Amen to that? Amen.
