Okay, can we please turn to Hebrews chapter 7 in the New Testament, the Brit Chadasha. We are going to try today, by the grace of God, to deal with the second half of chapter 7. Hebrews chapter 7 verses 11 on. We have already dealt with the first half of this chapter. And the first half of this chapter deals with the fact that the priesthood of Yeshua the Messiah, in its order, is greater than the priesthood of the Leviim, of the Levites. And that it is greater because he has the Malkitzedek order. And Malkitzedek, if you remember, we have looked at the passage in Genesis, Bereshit chapter 14, in which we have seen from history that Abraham had to give tithe to Malkitzedek.

The lesser had given tithing to the greater. And the greater, namely Malkitzedek, who is a type of Yeshua the Messiah, he blessed Abraham. The greater blesses the lesser. So we looked at history. So we looked at history. And the proof of the order of Malkitzedek, who is superior than the order of the Levites or the Levites, is from an historical point of view, we have seen it in verses 1 to 10. But now we are moving to the second half of this chapter. And here we learn, in Hebrews chapter 7, from verse 11 to verse 28, that Yeshua is superior in his priesthood, in the order of his priesthood, from the Aaronic or the Levitical priesthood, in the fact that we have also a doctrinal fact to this truth.

It's not only true from history, but it is true from a doctrinal teaching. And that's what we always have to bear in mind. Doctrine, teaching, is very important for us to learn. And here, the writer, writing to Hebrew believers in Yeshua the Messiah of first century, and he's now appealing to them from a doctrinal point of view. And look what he does. And look what he does in verse 11. Hebrews 7 and verse 11. If, therefore, perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, for under it the people received the law, what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Malkitzedek, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

For the priesthood, for the priesthood, being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. For he of whom these things are spoken, pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar. For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Judah, of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood. And it is yet far more evident, for that after the similitude of Malkitzedek, there arises another priest, who is made not after the law of carnal commandment, but after the power of endless life. For he testifies, thou art a priest forever, after the order of Malkitzedek. And he continues now in verse 18.

For there are verily disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof. For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing of a better hope did, by the which we draw nigh unto God. Inasmuch as not without an oath he was made a priest, for those priests were made without an oath, but this, speaking about the Messiah, about Yeshua, with an oath, by him that saith unto him the Lord swear and will not repent, thou art a priest forever, after the order of Malkitzedek. By so much was Yeshua made a surety of a better covenant. Verse 23. And they truly were many priests because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death.

But this man, because he continues ever, has an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore, he is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Now notice these last three verses. Verse 26 to verse 28. For such an holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, made higher than the heavens, who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for his own sins, and then for the people's, for this he did once, when he offered up himself. For the law makes men high priests, which have infirmity, but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

And I'm stopping with the reading. Now, this is a lot of meat in the passage that I read this afternoon. But by the grace of God, we can simplify that as we just go over that, verse by verse, and just learn some of the important things that the Lord has for us about the priesthood of Yeshua. You know, we need him. As a great high priest, today, he is ever liveth at the right hand of God the Father, lifting up his holy hands on behalf of his own people, there interceding on behalf of every believer in Yeshua the Messiah. Now, here, look what the writer is telling to those Hebrew believers.

He's telling them, look, we have already looked back in the first 10 verses of chapter 7, of the historical proof that the order of the priesthood of Melchizedek is greater than the order of the Leviticus priesthood. Why? Because the people of the Levites were already in the loyans of Abraham, and in Abraham, they actually gave tithe to Melchizedek. And in Abraham, they received the blessing from Melchizedek, and the proof was that he is greater than the Levites already from historical setting. But now, in these verses, he wants to show them that the Melchizedek priesthood of Yeshua the Messiah is greater than the Levitical priesthood of Aaron in the fact that there are biblical truths that we must learn here in those particular verses.

Four reasons we have here in these verses why the Melchizedek priesthood is greater than the Levitical priesthood. The first reason is found here in verses 11 to 14. The first reason why the Melchizedek priesthood is greater than the Aaronic priesthood or the Levitical priesthood is number one, is because the Aaronic priesthood and the law were imperfect. The law and the Levitical priesthood is imperfect. And he showed this to us in verse 11, 12, 13, and 14. And let me go over them quickly. Number one, verse 11, he says this, If there was perfection by the Levitical priesthood under it, the people received the law, then what further need was there for another priest should rise up after the order of Melchizedek and not after the order of Aaron?

If the Aaronical Aaron and his Levitical priesthood was perfect, if there was not need for another, why is it that we read here that he said to Yeshua, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. If it was perfect priesthood, why then we need another? It proves to us that the Aaronic priesthood was not perfect. There was some weaknesses and failure in the Aaronic priesthood. Look at this. It says in the next verse, Because, verse 12, Now how many times we have to talk about this today to people to understand that the law have come and have been given to Israel for a purpose and a time and a season?

If the law could have produced perfection in us or in the nation of Israel, then there was no need for the Messiah to come altogether. But you know what the law did, beloved brothers and sisters? The law produced a light that shone upon the condition of the heart of every Israeli individual. The law in itself is holy and perfect. But we have a problem, which is called sin. And because we have a problem that is called sin, that's why the law could not produce in us perfection. You see, when the law demanded perfection from the nation of Israel. For example, if we just take the Ten Commandments, and you see what God demanded from the nation of Israel under the law, you will see that Israel, as well as you and I, violated every law that was given to the nation of Israel.

Every one of them. The problem is not with the law. The problem is with the human heart. And because the human heart is sinful, the law only brought to light the sin that is existing in us. For example, when the law said, you shall not walk on the grass, and the sign that say, you shall not walk on the grass, and we put our foot on the grass just to test to see what's going to happen, we have violated the law. This is exactly what happened. And this is exactly what happened with our nation, the nation of Israel. God gave our people the law, and there is no one Israeli individual, one Hebrew that can say, we have kept the law to its perfection.

You know, there is one law that is the last of the Ten Commandments that God gave to the people of Israel that our Apostle Paul had to admit that this one he really failed to do. And this one had nothing to do with the external, but it has to do with the internal state of an individual. When the Lord said, thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt not steal, and so on, the last commandment that God had given to the people of Israel is something that has to deal with the internal condition of the human race. And I'm going to just read this verse.

In verse 16, thou shalt not bear fall witness. Verse 17, thou shalt not covet. And so on. And then, verse 17, thou shalt not covet. The Apostle Paul, Shaul said, this is what really got me. I may have done everything externally, I have obeyed God's law externally, but inside my heart, I fail when God said not to covet. And I have coveted in my own heart. Maybe men did not see. Maybe others not obvious to them, but in my heart before God, I knew that I fail in this commandment. And that's why the Apostle Paul recognized the truth that he himself did the thing he did not want to do and did not do the thing that he should have done.

And that's why he says, oh, wretched men that I am in the end of the 7th chapter of the book of Romans. And so we see that because the law was so perfect, not only did the priesthood have to change, but even the law had to change. And we needed the grace of God in this present day. That's why the writer to the Hebrews is now telling them in verse 12, if the priesthood had to change, verse 12, therefore it meant necessary or it was of necessity also that the law will change. Not because there was a problem with the law, but because there was a problem with the human race.

And he continued now in verse 13 of our chapter. And he says, Yeshua belonged to another tribe altogether. for he said, he whom of all those things were spoken pertained to another tribe of which no man gave attendance at the altar. For it is evident that our Lord, this is Yeshua, that our Lord sprang out of Judah, of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning anything of the priesthood. He's saying here, beloved brothers and sisters, that the Lord Yeshua, the Messiah, who became a priest after the order of Malkit Tzedek, did not come out of the tribe of Levi. He could not be a priest. But he came out of the tribe of Yehudah, or Judah.

And that's why he could not be a Levitical priest, but he could be a Malkit Tzedek order priest. And so the first reason from a doctrinal point of view that the writer explained to the Hebrews that the Malkit Tzedek order is not after Aaron, but after Malkit Tzedek, and therefore Yeshua, the Messiah, is a priest after a different order because he could not have been a priest if he would have been of the tribe of Levi. That's the first reason. Secondly, verses 15, 16, 17, and 19. Here's the second reason. Why Yeshua's priesthood is greater in his order than the Levites? The second reason is because the imperfect priesthood and law could never continue forever.

Because of the imperfection of the priesthood, and therefore, it could not continue forever. He's now saying this in verse 15. And it is yet far more evident for that after the similitude of Malkit Tzedek, there arises another priest who is made not after law of carnal commandment, but after the power of eternal or everlasting or endless life. for he testify, for he testify, thou art the priest forever after the order of Malkit Tzedek, for there is verily disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof. Verse 19, for the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing up of a better hope did, by the which we draw nigh unto God.

You see, beloved, I know it is kind of a difficult verses to kind of read them, but when you understand the text here from verse 15 to 19, the priesthood was partial, it was for a season, it could not bring perfection to the believers. Why? The priest died. The priest could know less, another one had to come, and he died, and another one had to come, and he died. It could not produce perfection in the people of Israel, neither in you and I, because the priesthood and the law rose for a season and for a time. He mentioned in verse 19, the law made nothing perfect. Now I know it sounds like we're saying that there is a problem with the law, by no means, I'm not saying it because the law is holy and perfect.

It is not the law the problem is it could not bring perfection in you and I, because it could not produce in us perfection. The more the law had been brought to light in our life, the more it revealed how imperfect we are and how sinful we are. That's why it says here in verse 18, there is verily a disannulling of the commandment, going before for the weakness and unprofitableness. Now again, if we understand it, it does not mean that he said that there is unprofit in the law, but there is unprofit in what the law could produce in us. The law could not produce in us anything because we have a nature that is sinful.

And that's why those Hebrew believers have to understand that because they were going back into the law, into the sacrificial system. So what if they would go back into the sacrificial system? They would offer another sacrifice, but they would have to do it again. They would offer another sacrifice, but they would have to do it again and again and again. And it didn't bring perfection because they needed to offer this again. Sin came in, sin brought to light, and they needed another sacrifice. That's why he says, listen, you don't need anymore to go back to the sacrificial system because it had been done away when our blessed Lord Yeshua the Messiah came.

It was done away with and he and his sacrifice is sufficient for the believer, not for time, not for a temporary season, but forever. That's why he said in verse 19, but the bringing of a better hope, second half of verse 19, did bring perfection. The bringing of the better hope brought perfection because it was done once and for all by our blessed Lord Yeshua the Messiah, by which we draw nigh unto God. He says, now we can draw nigh to God through the Messiah because it dealt with the question of sin once and for all. We don't need to repeat it again and again. again and again and again.

So he's answering to those Hebrew believers and he's telling them, why is it that the Malkitsedic priesthood is greater than the Aaronic? Number one, because the Aaronic priesthood were imperfect. Number two, because of the fact that the Malkitsedic priesthood is continuing forever while the Aaronic priesthood had to be stopped. Look at the third reason now in verse 20 and 22. The third reason why the Malkitsedic priesthood is greater than Aaronic priesthood is because God's oath cannot be broken. Verse 20, 21, and 22. God made an oath and he will not repent. He cannot change. He will not change his mind. In verse 20 it says, inasmuch as not without an oath, he was made a priest.

For those priests were made without an oath, but this one, namely Yeshua's priesthood, he was made with an oath. By him that said unto him the Lord swear and I will not repent. Thou art a priest forever after the order of Malkitsedic. You know brothers and sisters, when Aaron became a priest and when his son became priest, there was not an oath that had been made to them. They did not receive an oath that they would be priests forever. They had received the command to act on behalf of the people and on behalf of God to represent God to the people and the people to God, but there was not an oath that had been made for them.

But you see what happened with Yeshua that we read about in the book of Psalm, Psalm 110 and verse 4, and I'm going to read that verse to you again, Psalm 110 and verse 4, we read this, simply this, the Lord has sworn and will not repent, you are a priest forever after the order of Malkit 7. See, God made a promise, God made an oath to the Lord Yeshua the Messiah that he is going to be a priest not for 100 years, not for 200 years, not for a season, he says you will be a priest forever, forever after the order of Malkit 7. An order that is entirely not out of the tribe of Levi, it's entirely not out of this earthly priesthood, is an order of Malkit 7, which is an order which is not for a season, but forever.

And therefore, today, as we are sitting here, today, as people who believe in Yeshua of the Messiah, wherever they are today, at the same time that they are wherever they are in this world, he is there interceding on the behalf of the people of God. He has done it 2,000 years ago, 1,900 years ago, 1,800 years ago, we can go back all the way to our present day. He is a priest forever under the order of Malkit Sedekin. As a priest, he represents us before the Father. Every time when we sin, every time when we need an encouragement, he is representing and he is lifting up his hands and you remember that, his hands and his feet and his side were pierced as he was hanging on the tree.

And it's a reminder, it's a token before God to remind him God for this sin and sins I have died. He is ever there in the presence of God and he will never cease to be a man there who are presenting God's people before God, the Holy God, to remind him of the work that he has done for us on the tree. And so, so far, beloved brothers and sisters, verse 11 to 14, why his priesthood is greater than Aaron? Number one, because the Aaronic priesthood and the law are imperfect. number two, because of the imperfect priesthood, it could not continue forever. It's temporary. Number three, because God made an oath and he will not change his mind.

We read in verse 20 and 21 of chapter 7 of Hebrews that God made an oath and he will not repent, he will not change his mind. But in verse 22 we also read, look at the result of the oath. It was by so much better was Yeshua made a surety of a better covenant. You remember we read today in Jeremiah chapter 31 verse 31 to the end. And you know Jeremiah chapter 31 is the new covenant. The new covenant which God made with the house of Israel, with the tribe, with the house of Judah and the house of Israel. He had made a covenant with the house of Israel. But this covenant is a better covenant than the Mount Sinai covenant.

You know why it is better and I'll tell you why. Because the Mount Sinai covenant was a conditional covenant. The new covenant, the which we call in Hebrew, is an unconditional covenant. It does not depend upon our performance. It does not depend on what we do and what we don't do because it is entirely a covenant that has been done by the blood of the Lamb, by the blood of the Lord Jesus, the Messiah. He is the one, if you remember, in the upper room, who said this is the blood of the new covenant which is shed for you. And he is the one that made this new covenant under the law, Israel is expected to do something.

And God said, if you will do this, then I will bless you. If you will not do this, then I will curse you. And we know very well that Israel, as well as you and I, could have never abided by the Mount Sinai covenant. They broke the covenant even before the law was given to them on Mount Sinai. Even before Moses went down from the mountain with the ten commandments already Israel down in the valley, broke that law by worshipping the golden calf. The law did not even come. They have broken the first command. Thou shall have no other God before me. And you and I, beloved brothers and sisters, are just the same like the Hebrews of old.

we were just the same. We have broken every command of God. And then God had to introduce the new covenant. He made a promise. And that's why Hebrews 7 verse 20, 21, 22, God made an oath. He made a promise and he will not change his oath. He will not step back from what he had made a promise. He made his seven as much that is not without an oath. He made a priest for those priests were made without an oath, but this was with an oath by him that saith unto him the Lord swear and will not repent. You are a priest forever after the order of Malkit said it.

By so much was Yeshua made a surety of a better covenant. you know I just don't understand how people want to place themselves under the old covenant, under the Torah, the Tanakh, the law. And they want to place themselves again and again upon the law and we do this and we keep that and we do this and you try to put yourself and abide by what God through the law have demanded for man. And you try to say God I'm going to live for you on a basis of what you commended me under the law. And you will see immediately you will find out how much you fail the law and God's request.

And you will find out that if God will judge you on a basis of the law no one will ever be saved and be delivered because we all have sinned. We have just said it earlier. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

So beloved he is giving us reasons from a doctrinal point of view now not from historical point of view from a doctrinal point of view he is saying why we need the Malkitze the Christian of Yeshua the Messiah why it is so much superior than the Levitical priesthood why because the Aaronic priesthood was imperfect because the Aaronic priesthood and imperfection could not continue forever it was a temporary priesthood number three because God made a promise and when he made an oath he is going to keep the promise that he made to the Lord Jesus the Messiah quickly number four here's the fourth reason why is it that a market said his priesthood is greater and

listen it says in verse 23 24 and 25 it because a priest being a man dies but but Yeshua being a perfect man never ever dies no more and notice that now let me read those verses verse 23 says this and they speaking about the old Levitical priests there were many priests why because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death why there were so many priests because every priest had a season in which he lived just like you and I for a season once he finished his ministry once he got of old age he died now look at this if you remember if you look back and you think of the people

of Israel they went to everyone in the beginning but there came a time when they all died so everyone had to establish his son to be the next high priest but he died and he died and then it makes you wonder we need another one and another one and another one and another one by reason of death it says that the weakness of death in a Levitical priesthood there was weakness in that the priest died and so we need to go to another then it says in verse 24 but this man speaking about the man Yeshua Jesus the Messiah but this man because he continueth ever has an unchangeable priesthood you see when we go

to Jesus when we go to Yeshua by faith as our great high priest he ever liveth he ever liveth he never died he died once to deal with the question of sin but he ever liveth right now his priesthood doesn't change Aaron's priesthood changed his son's priesthood changed his grandsons the rest of the priesthood changed because they died by reason of death but the priesthood of the Messiah have never and will never change this man because he continuing forever he has unchangeable priesthood we can come to him and we can tell him our needs and you know just like you and I today looking up to him who is a great high priest in heaven

you know hundred years ago and two hundred years ago and thousand years ago believers like you and I looked at him as this great high priest the same man because he continues ever not like the others who had by reason of death to end their priestly service in verse 25 Yeshua is able to save us to the uttermost it says there wherefore he's able you know sometimes we sing he's able he's able I know he's able I know my Lord is able to carry me through why do we sing that song we sing that song because we know who we have trusted Paul said I know whom I have believed and I'm sure that he's

able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day why Paul you're singing that song why you're quoting to us such a passage such as this because it says here wherefore he's able to save them to the uttermost which come unto God by him seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them and let's make sure we understand it here he's talking about believers he's not talking about unbelievers unbelievers of course need to be saved first for their sins have to be dealt once and for but here to save them unto the uttermost it it has to do with saving them not only the salvation that we have when we first became

believers in Yeshua not only the past salvation that we had when we first acknowledged our sins before God but present salvation salvation from ourselves salvation from the world salvation from Satan it's a saving day by day leading us protecting us helping us encouraging us with every challenge that we have in our lives and brothers and sisters you know very well you and I can say today Lord you have saved me for my sin and sins from the judgment that I deserve in the past but Lord I need you to save me present to deliver me from my sinful desires from the world that is around me that seek to influence me and to get a

hold of me save me from Satan or deliver me from the power of this one who desire who shoot the arrows at me who desire to sift us as he desired to sift Peter in the scripture you know we have those three enemies we often talk about the flesh the devil and the world around us and the Lord is able to save us to the uttermost completely to save us even today you see we need a high priest that will help us right now right now not only not only what the Lord Jesus have done in the past for us when he died for us on the tree but what he does for us today

and that's why it says at the end of verse 25 whoever liveth to make intercession for them why do you and I need somebody to intercede why do we pray for each other you know when this session we have been praying for those that have a need why do we pray we pray to the Lord who is there ever to make intercession for us he can talk to the father and he can take what we say and present it before the father in fact we have in Romans chapter 8 that the spirit of God groan on our behalf that he the Holy Spirit of God take our prayers and shape it and mold it and

present it before the father beloved that's what we need today and that's why Hebrews chapter 7 it's talking to believers they are saved they are forgiven they know the Lord but they needed to be saved or delivered from a life that would be not pleasing to the Lord and you and I every day every day of our life need the Lord Jesus to intercede and so Hebrews is saying to them why is Melchizedek priesthood is greater than the Levitical priesthood why the order of Melchizedek is greater for reason number one the Aaronic priesthood is imperfect number two because it is imperfect it does not continue forever it is temporary thirdly because God made an oath

and he made a promise and fourthly because the priest of the Levitical priesthood dies and because man dies he cannot continue and therefore look up and see the Lord Yeshua the Messiah who is completely after a different order he ever lived not like Aaron who died this one is ever living you know the Lord Jesus Yeshua will never die anymore he died once he died once that's it right now he is alive he is at the right hand of the father on the majesty on high interceding on our behalf he is able to save them to the atomos completely that come unto God by him you know that he can help us every day i'm

asking you a question now that i'm asking myself as well do we avail ourselves of this great high priest do we actually take the time and pray and ask the Lord in prayer Lord here's the situation that's existing in my life today Lord I know I am capable of blundering I'm capable of falling and sinning and going astray Lord help me today not only for my sin when it's come to my nature not only to save me and forgive my sin that I'll go to heaven but Lord here's the problem that I have today could be a problem with our family could be a problem with our job our health could be sin that creep

into our lives Lord deliver me from this Lord help me that I will be able to please you and to live a life that is honoring to you he's able Hebrews 7 25 wherefore he's able to save them to the atomos that come to God through him through the Messiah so why because he ever is alive to make intercession for us brothers and sisters this is not for unbelievers this is for believers this is for you and I this is for every problem that we have in our life we have a great I priest is there on behalf of us in the presence of God saying I've died for those sins and I'm interceding on

behalf of this particular individual and how good to know that because now we can tell to God our problem and now we can face every situation we can say God I'm helpless and I need you to help me and Lord Jesus for these sins you have died and I want Lord Jesus that you will help me and save me not only from the past sin but also unto the uttermost completely save me deliver me from the situation that I find myself today this is a precious truth to understand and I believe Paul Shaul have used this ministry of Yeshua every time every time that's why he said in Timothy and other passages who shall deliver

me out of this body of humiliation in Roman he said that and he turned to Yeshua the Messiah for deliverance now let's look at the conclusion in the last three verses of this chapter we have talked about the fact that Yeshua priesthood under the order is greater than Aaron priesthood under the Levitical order and now he gives us a conclusion here in verses 26 27 and 28 look at the conclusion three things first of all we we need a spotless priest we find it in verse 26 verse 27 we need a sufficient sacrifice we have the answer in verse 27 and thirdly we have the contrast between the law and the promises of God in

verse 27 so let's quickly look at this conclusion of the writing of this chapter first of all we need a spotless high priest and so in verse 26 the writer is saying such high priest became us who is holy harmless undefined separate from sinners and made higher than the heaven you see that what the writer is saying to those Hebrew believers he shows us the spotlessness of the high priest that we have we have a high priest today or those Hebrews had the high priest at that time when he was presenting to them which was spotless not like the high priest that Israel had under the Levitical order but through the priesthood of Yeshua the

Messiah we have a spotless priest notice what he said he is holy you could have never said that about Aaron and his sons you remember what happened to Aaron and his sons when Aaron's sons brought strange fire God has smitten them because they brought a strange fire but our priest is holy you know even Adam and Eve when they were created we can never say that they were holy they were innocent but not holy the very fact that they fell into sin Adam fell into sin prove that he was not holy but we can say this about Yeshua we have a high priest as it says here we have such a high priest who is

number one holy holy in his personal purity he was pure in contrast to any other who are impure his personal life was pure from birth to death he is holy that's why the Holy Spirit said that Holy One which was born unto thee shall be called the Son of God he was holy in his personal purity he was holy secondly it says here in verse 26 he was harmless you see he will not practice evil he was harmless you cannot say this about anybody else because we need a spotless priest he was harmless how many times we have harmed others and others have harmed us but we could never say that he harmed anyone the

Bible teach us that he was harmless individual he never done anything wrong he never done anything evil that's the kind of priest that we have Yeshua the Messiah thirdly it says in verse 26 he was undefiled he was unstained he had a moral purity in him undefiled we get defiled on every hand we get defilement from coming from the inside and coming from the outside we get so defiled daily that's why we need to come to a Bible studies and to read the Bible and to pray because we need to be cleansed on an ongoing basis that's why Yeshua the Messiah washed the disciples feet if you remember in John chapter 13 why because they

needed to be cleansed on an ongoing basis but here we have a priest a high priest that not only had a personal purity holy not only that we never practiced evil he was harmless but here we have an undefined we have a person that is not stained there was a moral purity in him he was a pure individual what a wonderful person and that's why because he's so pure that every sin that we have committed is brought to the surface before him only to reveal our condition who of us can dare to come before God and say there is purity in me who of us can say that when we stand before him all the

darkness that exists in us is brought to light that's why John says that he brought light into the world and darkness comprehended it not the light of the purity of our blessed Lord Jesus the Messiah and that's why beloved it says he was undefined how much we need the grace of God to walk one minute without to be defiled we look at the television we get defiled we open the internet we get defiled and it's not only coming from without it's coming from within because we have a defiled nature but there was no defilement in him pure holy undefiled harmless and notice what it says another thing about him in verse 26 separate from sinners

he is in the holy of holies separate from sinners what distinguished Yeshua from any other man is that he was separate from sinners he could come to this world in his life he could touch a sinner and never get defiled he could speak to needy people but never get defiled in fact he brings his purity upon others while with us it's exactly the opposite and that's why he was separated from sinners he was while he was with sinners to meet their need yet he was separated from them at the same time there was no sin in Yeshua the Messiah and we can definitely say praise the Lord because there was a perfection in him that

made him a suitable high priest for us and he continued beloved in verse 26 and the fifth thing that he says he was made higher than the heavens God had been so satisfied with him as we have in chapter 4 and verse 14 he was taken through the heavens into the immediate presence of God because there was no sin in this person you see brothers and sisters we need a spotless priest because we are sinners and we have spots in our own life and we need somebody that is a priest that have no spots in him whatsoever and that's why he is greater than Aaron that's why he is greater than a Levitical priesthood in

its order because he is holy harmless undefiled separate for sinners and made higher than the heavens so we needed a spotless priest and we have one but now notice we needed also a sufficient sacrifice that's what he is dealing with in verse 27 of Hebrews chapter 7 it says speaking about Yeshua the Messiah he needeth not daily as those high priests to offer up sacrifice first for his own sins and then for the rest of the people for this he did once when he offered up himself you see the difference between Yeshua and the high priest of the Levitical order see when Aaron had to offer sacrifices before God first of all he had to

offer the sacrifices for himself and for his own family because Aaron was a sinner Aaron had imperfection in him and he first of all needed to offer the lambs and the rams and whatever he offered before God first of all for himself and then for his family and then for the rest of the nation of Israel our own nation but look what Yeshua he does not need to do it like him because he says here he offered himself once and he didn't offer his own blood for himself he's always on behalf of the nations and the nations of the world he offered one sacrifice a perfect sacrifice you know what we learn here about the

Lord that he was both the priest and the sacrifice at the same time you see what we see here he was the priest bringing the offering before God but he turned around and he became the sacrifice and he offered himself before God and God accepted him because he was holy harmless undefined suffering from sins and God took him into the immediate presence of God into the holy of holies there to be as a great high priest on behalf of the people of God and now beloved he closed this in verse 28 and I'm going to close with this as well because chapter 7 deal with the Lord Jesus the Messiah as the one that has

a greater priesthood and a greater order in his priesthood priesthood it has a superior order in chapter 7 we're going to go to talk in chapter 8 about something else but in chapter 7 we have the superiority of the priesthood of Yeshua in its order and he closes this chapter by saying giving us the contrast between the law which demanded and the promise which God made and he says in verse 28 for the law make men high priests which have infirmity but the oath which was since the law make the son who is consecrated forevermore he make the contrast between what the law have done and what the oath have done the law made people

high priests with all the infirmities like Aaron and his descendants but oath the promises of God the word of the oath that we have here in verse 28 it was since the law it was after the law it make the son consecrated not for a season but forever more that's the climax here beloved brothers and sisters that our pastor want to present before the Hebrews our own people of old who had the problem of desiring to go back to offer sacrifices desiring to go back to the Levitical order desiring to go back where they saw what's going to happen the sacrifices continue on and the temple is running on should I go back should I

continue to offer those sacrifices he says to them no you don't need to go back it is temporary it has infirmities it is not pure it's not going to make you perfect because it is only going to have to remind you again of the sins that you committed turn to Yeshua the Messiah look to him he is the one that is holy and harmless undefiled separated from sinners and is entered into the immediate presence of God look to him and don't look to the back don't look to the sacrificial system and the priest functioning in the temple because it had been done away it is temporary it does not bring you into perfection look at

Yeshua the Messiah set your heart upon him he is there making intercession for you today he is able to save you not only for a season but to the uttermost just turn to him that's what we learn here from chapter 7 may the Lord bless us and encourage us and when we are going to go to the next chapter you will see that Yeshua as a priest is superior not only in the order of Melchizedek in chapter 8 we'll find out that the new covenant is superior than the old covenant we'll talk about it in Hebrews chapter 8 or or visit our website at the holy scriptures dot org
