Okay shalom everyone please turn with me to the second chapter of the book of Hebrews we just have been singing Jesus name above all names blessed Redeemer wonderful song to sing and the reason that we can sing that song is because we are aware of the fact that his name is above every name, like the Apostle Paul, like Shaul said many years ago, that in the name of Jesus, in the name of Yeshua, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Yeshua the Messiah is Lord to the glory of God the Father. That is exactly what we get here when we are studying the book of Hebrews and when we are reading the second chapter of this book because it is there that the apostle who write to these early Hebrew believers were emphasizing to them that the name of Yeshua that the person of Yeshua is superior than all and especially in chapter 2 he is superior than the angels and we are reading today from verse 10 to the end and.

That will be the topic for today that Yeshua is superior than the angels as men in the fact or for the reason that what he had accomplished for us when he finished the work for us on the cross on the tree but in connection to verse 10 i'll just read verse 9 which was the last verse of our last meeting together and you remember we just sang Yeshua Jesus name above all name the writer to the Hebrews says but we see Yeshua who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor that he this is Yeshua by the grace of God should taste death for every man or everything actually for it became him for whom are all things and by whom are all things in bringing many sons unto glory to make the captain or the leader or the pioneer of their salvation perfect through suffering.

For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren saying i will declare thy name unto my brethren we just read it in Psalm 22 i will declare thy name unto my brethren in the midst of the congregation will i sing praise unto thee and again i will put my trust in him, and again behold I and the children which God hath given me, forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same, that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage for verily he took not on him the nature of angels but he took on him the seed of Abraham wherefore in all things it behooved him to be made like unto his brethren that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God to make propitiation.

For the sins of the people. For in that he himself has suffered, been tempted or tested, he is able to aid or to bring help to them that are tested or tempted verses 10 to 18 gives us really beloved brothers and sisters the result or the fruit or the outcome of the work of the Lord Yeshua the Messiah on the tree on behalf of mankind on behalf of the Hebrews to whom the apostle was writing to now remember when we had the last verse in our last meeting together verse 9 is such a beautiful verse because verse 9 direct us to the men remember chapter 2 of the book of Hebrews deal with the superiority of Yeshua the Messiah over the angels as men in chapter one we have him superior over the angels as God as in his divine nature but now he presenting to them the superiority of the Lord Yeshua the Messiah over the angels as a human being as a man and that's why he says but we see Jesus.

By the way many of them must have never seen him in their life but they saw him by faith you see you and i never seen Yeshua the only description of Yeshua we have in the Scriptures but we have never seen him with these natural eyes but we look above by faith and we see him we see this man you notice the writer give to those Hebrews his Hebrew name Yeshua we see Yeshua who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death we see him crowned with glory and honor now what he's doing here beloved look what he does here you remember what he does in these verses he showed these Hebrew believers that while God gave Adam and Adam's descendants he gave us to be those that will have authority over all this universe to have dominion over all this world but what happened because sin came in We don't see anything yet being put underfoot of mankind.

We don't see that we have any dominion over this world at all. We have no dominion over the birds of the earth. We don't have any dominion over the fish in the sea. And we don't even have any dominion over the animals of the field. We don't have any dominion, no control. In fact, like we said last time, we cannot even control ourselves. We have lost it. Because sin came in, we have lost dominion. But here comes someone. His name is Yeshua. He was born in Bethlehem. Thou shall call his name Yeshua, for he shall save his people from their sin. And here comes this wonderful man.

And he presents him in the Gospels. We have the four Gospels. We have started the Gospel of John. God presents the Messiahship of Yeshua, this perfect man from every aspect. God presents him to mankind. And he's showing to us, here is what I'm expecting from man. I've intended that man will live like complete devotion to me, complete desire to please God. But men, because of sin, fail. Sin came in and we did not please the Lord. But here come Yeshua. And Yeshua came, beloved brothers and sisters, to this world. He did not come to live in this world for a long life. He came to die and to pay the penalty for sin.

And that's why he says we, the writer and the Hebrews, we see him who was made a little lower than the angel. He became a man. Why did he become a little lower than the angels? For the suffering of death. I don't believe we understand even how much sufferings Yeshua had to suffer here in this world. He suffered from the hands of men. He suffered by the hand of Satan. And ultimately he suffered by the hand of a righteous God. When he was hanging on the cross, remember what we read today, Psalm 22? Where he says, my God, my God, why have thou forsaken me? I can understand people forsake me.

I can understand Satan attacking me. But God, why have thou, why did you forsake me? And of course he gives an answer in the same Psalm. Thou art holy, thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. God is holy. Sin must be judged. There was no man who was able to bear the sin question. No animal could remove the sin. No sacrificial animal could remove the sin of this world. But here come the Lord, as men, bearing our sins in his body on the tree. And God, who forsook him, knew why he forsook him. Because he came to suffer and to die, and then not only to die on the cross and to remain there, but he placed him in a tomb, and he raised him, and he took him to the pinnacle of the universe, and he is now crowned with honor and with glory.

Now, in the next verses, beloved, verses 10 to verse 18, The apostle, the writer, give us three things that happen when the Lord became a man and died for us on the tree. Three consequences, three results he at least present before us here that came about out of the finished work of the Messiah on the tree. Three things he's presenting before us. But at the same time, he shows us that the three results that came out of the work of the Messiah could have never happened by angels. Because angels never became men. Sometimes in the past history, angels appeared as men. But they actually never took union, angelhood, with humanity.

They never became men, actually, they appeared as men, like in Genesis 19 when they went to Sodom and talked with Lot. And like many other appearings of angels in history, but they never took union humanity with angelhood. But here we see God took union humanity with divinity God and man in one and so now he's showing them those three results that came out of the finished work of Yeshua the man when he died for us on the tree three things that he brought about for the benefit of the Hebrews and for the benefits of everyone that will believe on him the first thing is actually is verses 10 11 12 and 13 the first result of the work of Yeshua the Messiah what happened when he died for us on the tree and paid a penalty there on the tree the penalty for our sins, for men's sins he now can bring many sons unto glory he now can bring many people who can be called the sons, the children of God you remember what we have in the gospel of John, John 1 we're going to get to it in our study as many as receive him to them he gave the right to be called sons or children of God so look at the verses i'm reading.

Again verse 10 to 13 for it became him for whom are all things and by whom are all things in bringing many sons unto glory to make the captain of their salvation perfect through suffering. For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the congregation will I give praise unto thee. And again, I will put my trust in him, and again behold i and the children which God has given unto me now let's just quickly follow up these a few beautiful verses in connection with the fact that the work of the Messiah the work of the man Yeshua could bring about many sons unto glory look what he says in verse 10 for it became him for whom are all things and by whom are all things in bringing many sons unto glory to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings you see the first thing he's saying.

Is this in this verse 10 it couldn't be otherwise if Yeshua was going to restore for the Hebrews to restore for mankind their relationship with God which they have lost because of sin, he had to become the captain of their salvation, perfect through sufferings. What does that mean? This word for captain is, in other words, could be used leader or pioneer. What a pioneer does, you know, a pioneer goes before everybody else and he's opening the floor, if you will, opening the gate for others to come later on after him. That's what happened when Yeshua came to this world and died for us on the tree.

He opened the door. He became the leader, the pioneer, as it says here, so he can bring many sons unto glory. In other words, he became a man. He finished the work on the tree. He suffered and he paid for the penalties of sin and sins. And then he became our captain of salvation. You know that you and I have a captain. We have a pioneer. We have a leader of our salvation. He is the one that have gone before us. I remember, I don't know if you remember the story that happened years ago, I think it is in 1973, if I'm correct. They kidnapped a whole plane, a France plane, where there were many Israeli and Jewish people on that plane.

The plane was kidnapped and had been taken by the Palestinians and had been taken all the way to Uganda. And in order for this plane to be brought back, and those Hebrews, those Jewish people that had been captured there, to be brought back to the land of Israel, somebody had to go and to bring about some special event there it was one of the greatest missions that Israel have ever done and i remember i was there irene my wife and i were in a bus in Jerusalem riding from one area to another area when the news came nobody in the world knew that Israel sent a few planes all the way to uganda and when the plane landed in uganda very late at night the military the israeli army in a second way went into the airport there were all these Jewish people about three four hundred of them have been held there by the terrorists and beloved you know what happened the israeli military burst into this airport and killed all the terrorists there and have taken all these Israelis who were captured there and quickly, immediately brought them into the plains.

And then they took them off and they brought them back to Israel. But do you know what happened? The leader of this group of military was the one that got shot and died in this special event he lost his life somebody shot him and killed him his name was Yonatan, Yoni in fact his brother is Netanyahu, Benjamin Netanyahu but the leader have lost his life in order for others to benefit and be set free this is just a feeble illustration of what happened when our blessed Lord Jesus came to this world if he's going to lead the company of people to become sons and daughters of the father many sons unto glory what he had to do he had to become the captain the leader the pioneer of our salvation in order to bring many sons unto glory and he paid the penalty for us on the tree he became the captain of our salvation do you know that you and i could never bring salvation to ourselves the benefit that you and i receive from the Lord Jesus becoming a man God becoming a man in the person of Yeshua is that he became the captain of our salvation and it says here.

That to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings now what does that mean wasn't he perfect when he first entered into this world why does he use the word to make him perfect he doesn't mean here that Yeshua was not perfect he was definitely 100% sinless without any sin but this in connection this word perfect is in connection with his saviorhood what does that mean is that he knows every problem that you and i have what would happen if the Lord Jesus the Messiah would come on a monday morning to this world will die on a Wednesday and will go to heaven the next, after three days rising from among the dead on the first day of the week.

What would happen? Would he understand what you and I are going through in our life here in this world? Would he understand the sin that the world is under? Would he understand every issue here in this world? He would never understand it. The way that he understand it by living here in this world for 33 years. He lived here in this world for 33 years and he became the captain of our salvation. He became perfect through the suffering that he experienced here every day of his life. You know the suffering that you and I may go through today. Suffering that you and I might experience in our life today.

He has suffered much more than you and I ever would be able to go through. He suffered the sufferings that are unmeasured. We can never measure the sufferings of the Messiah. That's how he became our leader. He became our leader through suffering and death eventually and then you notice verse 11 says for both he that sanctifies and they who are sanctified are all of one the one that's sanctifying is the Messiah the one that are being sanctified are those Hebrews and you and i and anyone and everyone who became a believer in Yeshua we have to become of one we have to be united in one purpose and one hope and one glory and one work of the Messiah and because of his work we have been united to him he says here he that set us apart and we that have been set apart are all of one for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren.

The Hebrew word is Achim. Again, this verse is being taken from Psalm. Chapter 22. He is not ashamed to call them brethren. Now, we don't go to him and call him brother Jesus or brother Jesus like many we hear in the world today, but he is not ashamed to call us achim brethren you see what is a brother a brother is a person who has the same parents the same descendants we are descendants of the same we become sons and daughters of the father we become he can call us now brethren we receive the Messiah we became children of God and he is not ashamed to call them brethren.

And then he is quoting three verses in verses 12 and 13. Remember, he doesn't have the Brit HaChadasha. He doesn't have the New Testament. He has the Tanakh. He has the Old Testament, the Torah, Nevi'im, Ketuvim. The Torah, it is the five books of Moses. The Nevi'im is the prophet and the Ketuvim is the writing. The Psalms and so on here's a division of the Tanakh Torah Nevi'im Ketuvim the law the prophets and the writings and he's quoting one verse from the Psalms from the writing and two verses from the prophets and what does he say what does he quote here the writer said I will declare thy name to my brethren in the midst of the congregation will i sing praise unto thee here the apostle the writer takes the verse that is found in Psalm 22 that is really in connection with the future of Israel and the restoration of Israel as a nation and he's taking this and he is applying it to the body of Messiah today and he says in this verse i will declare thy name unto my brethren in other words the Messiah is going to declare the name of God to the brethren to the rest of the believers to the people who become children of God in the midst of the church the word here the church in the king James but it should really be in the midst of the congregation.

The congregation i will give praise unto the Lord in other words he is the song leader he is the one that is leading the congregation to sing the praises unto God the father that's what he does he's in our midst that's why when we are gathering together and we are even singing together really the one who leads the song is not the one who's standing here in the front the one who lead the song actually is none else but Yeshua the Messiah himself he leads in singing he lead the congregation in song and that's why you are not to be afraid or ashamed to sing to the Lord we need to sing to the Lord because the song leader is leading us as he says here i will declare thy name in the midst of the congregation will i notice now he Yeshua singing praises unto God leading the congregation to sing the praises unto God and then he's quoting verse 13 he's quoting two more verses from the prophet Isaiah Isaiah 8 7 Isaiah 8 17 i will put my trust in him.

The second verse i and the children which God had given unto me see he take old testament verses or verses from the Tanakh and he apply it now to the believers first of all those Hebrew believers who already have been part of the nation of Israel, but they became believers in Yeshua the Messiah, but he applying it to all the saints in this present day age, the church age, he applying it to us, I and the children which God had given unto me. He's like presenting us before the Father. He says, God, you have given me children, many children, and he's presenting us before God i and the children which God had given unto me so beloved the first thing that came out or the result that came out of the work of the Messiah he brought many sons unto glory you know how many people who came to faith in Yeshua the Messiah whether it is in Jerusalem Israel whether it is in toronto canada whether it is in new york the usa whether it is in paris france wherever you are in europe whether it is in the middle east or wherever it is many people became believers in the Lord Yeshua the Messiah and they are the sons and daughters of the father we become brethren he's not ashamed to call us brethren and how grateful are we to be to the Lord that he would call us we who were dead in trespasses and sins but after we have been saved and forgiven after the finished work of Yeshua the Messiah he is not ashamed to call us brethren and we become sons and.

Daughters of the father he brought many sons unto glory one day when we're going to leave this scene in this world we are going to be presented to the father as the sons many sons many daughters will be brought into the presence of God into his glory that's precious something we have to always be grateful to the Lord for this and that's what he's emphasizing to those early Hebrew believers discouraged though they were dismayed though they were they were in danger of going back into the sacrificial system he says to them don't do that don't forget what the Messiah has done for you don't forget that Yeshua is the one that finished the work for you look to him by faith into heaven you will see what he has done for you he brought you Hebrews and many others many sons unto glory that's the first thing but then let's go down to the next verses In the next verses, verses 14, 15, and 16, the second result of the work of the Messiah he presents before these Hebrews.

What is the second result? He disarmed Satan and he freed us from the fear of death. I repeated he disarmed Satan and he freed us from the fear of death look the next verses i'm reading verse 14 for as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood he also himself likewise took part of the same that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death that is the devil and deliver them who through fear of death were all the lifetime subject to bondage for verily he took not on him the nature of angels but he took on him the seed of Abraham beautiful verses I know it's like it seems to be so much to grasp but let's just chew it a little bit and let's just see what he is meaning here he says first of all in verse 14 for as much as the children are partakers of flesh and blood now that we became children now he's saying you see he's trying to explain why is it so important for us to understand how he completed disarmed Satan and freed us from the fear of death he had to become a.

Man like you and I who were partakers of flesh and blood see look at us even in this room today all of us are partakers of flesh as it says here and blood blood running through our vein flesh is the body that we have we are human beings and you and I are human beings but a failing human being a human being that have sinned in us but he had to become like us see the angels could not become like us angels could not save angels did not become human beings but he did and so he's saying because the children are partakers of flesh and blood he this is the Messiah this is Yeshua this is God the son he also himself likewise took part of the same notice he does not say that he became a sinner no or what he says here that he took part of the human nature he was born to the virgin Miriam he became the seed of the woman.

Genesis 3 15 he was born that one that is born of you be called the son of God he became a man like you and i lived like you and i walked in this world like you and i had a feeling like you and i had to experience everything that you and i experiencing every day you know sometimes people tell me gideon brother gideon you say how can you say that the Lord Jesus understand what i go through what does he know about what i'm experiencing every day in my life well he became a man just like you and I, yet sin apart. He did not become a sinner, but he became a man like you and I, spirit, soul, and body.

You notice that throughout the Gospels, he was tired. He leaned, you remember, on the well there in John chapter 4. He was thirsty. He asked the woman, give me the drink. He was crying. If you remember the shortest verse in the Bible, Yeshua wept in John 11. You and I know this very well because you and I many times find ourselves weeping for many, many, many reasons. He had experience. He was sleeping at the boat when we are tired. We are sleeping. He was tired. Slept he became like us sin apart he took as it says here in verse 14 he also himself likewise took part of the same he became flesh and blood he became a man a man that experience exactly what you and I are experiencing every day.

But you know, the writer Isaiah, the Hebrew prophet, called him a man of sorrows which had been acquainted with grief. Dear beloved brothers and sisters, you and I have many sorrows in our lives. We have many grieves in our lives. We know that we experience that but Yeshua is called the man of sorrow which have been acquainted with grief for as much as the children are partakers of flesh and blood he also himself likewise took part of the same it says here but then it says why why did he take part of the same that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death that is the devil now you see beloved brothers and sisters the devil Satan Lucifer the one angel that actually the one that have influenced or tempted or beguiled Eve.

Chava in the garden of Eden the Bible teaches us that Satan is a murderer from the beginning John 8 teaches us this for he was a murderer from the beginning well why does the Bible call him murderer from the beginning you know why because when Satan influenced and tempted Eve he brought about a thought in the mind of men that if God really doesn't care for men and when Eve took the fruit and brought it to Adam and Adam disobeyed God Adam and the whole human race have been plunged into sin and the cause of death is sin the wages of sin is death and the murderer that we have there in the gospel of John the Lord himself saying about Satan that he was a murderer from the beginning and so beloved it says that the work of the Messiah on the tree when he died he went through death he destroyed him that had the power of death that is the devil now the devil does not decide.

Who die and who not but the devil what he did with the actions that he did in the past and the action that he still does today he bringing about in the life of the human race that which lead a person to reject God and eventually die and being separated from God but when the Lord Jesus the Messiah died he destroyed he annulled you know this expression he destroyed him that had the power of death he rendered inoperative the Greek word is kata geor to render inoperative Satan's power to render inoperative Satan has no more power over those that believe in Yeshua the Messiah He cannot influence us and lead us to such an extent that will lead us unto death because we now belong to another.

That's what happened here. He rendered, as it says here, he rendered in verse 14, he destroyed him that had the power of death, that is the devil. He destroyed the power of Satan. How many people are under the influence of Satan today? You remember what we say? You are either in or out. You are either saved or you are lost. You are either a believer or an unbeliever. The unbelieving world are under the influence of Satan. In fact, we read it in 2 Corinthians 4. The God of this world had blinded the mind of them that believe not. That's what he does. He blinded the mind of them that believe not.

And he led them into death, which is eventually not only the physical and, of course, the spiritual. But eventually to eternal death, eternal separation for God. But when Yeshua came, when Yeshua died, he completely destroyed him that had the power of death that is the devil. To make it of none effect, to render it inoperative, He destroyed the power of death that Satan had in his hand. And you know, if you will ask people today what you fear the most, you know what they will tell you? They will tell you, and I know that none of us, or I should say the human race in general, one thing that they do feel is the fact that they do not know what's going to happen after death.

They do not know what's going to happen. That's why the next verse, in verse 15, he says, To deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. You see, fear of death means that you become in bondage. What's going to happen after I die? What's going to happen? Where am I going to spend eternity? I know some people might say, well, don't worry, it's six feet under the ground and it's all over. No beloved it's not over in fact it's not even over for the body the body is temporarily is being placed underneath the six feet of ground but the soul and the spirit of man will have to be spent eternity either in the presence of the Lord or away from the Lord in eternal separation from him and there is something that we all have to admit even for us as believers you know when we think about death sometimes it becomes something we are shivered by the thought of death but you see when we become believers in the Messiah even though sometimes in our hearts we are not quite sure because we are weak in the flesh because we still have this human nature but one thing on the basis of the word of God we have a surety that every person that belonged to the Lord Yeshua the Messiah had been transferred from the kingdom of this world to the kingdom of the Son of His love.

And we don't have to fear death because death, for the believer, becomes a servant to assure us into the presence of the Lord. When a believer dies, he is going to the immediate presence of the Lord Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5, absent from the body. And present with the Lord. That's why it is so important to be a believer. That's why it's so important to be a child of God. To be a son of the Father. That's why it is so important to believe on the Lord Yeshua the Messiah. Because when we belong to Him, we need not anymore have the fear of death. We need not anymore fear the power of Satan.

His power has been curbed. His power had been done away with respect to the believer. As it says here, that he destroyed the power of Satan, the power of the devil. He destroyed the power of Satan over the believer. And we no longer have to have the fear of death. And we no longer have to be subject unto bondage. We no longer have to be subject unto bondage. Death, for the believer, become a servant to us to bring us into the presence of the Lord Jesus the Messiah. Now, look at the next verse, please, with me. It says here in the next verse, because we are reading verses 14, 15, but also verse 16.

And here in verse 16, he is telling those Hebrews something that is very interesting, because he's saying to them, for verily he took not on him the nature of angels, but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Now that is important. You remember what he's trying to communicate with those Hebrews to show them that as men, the Messiah is superior than the angels, because he did not become an angel. He did not become he took not upon himself the nature of angels no he took upon himself the seed of Abraham now if you were Hebrew 1900 years ago and you received this letter from the apostle you know those Hebrews needed a solid assurance why they should continue to follow after Yeshua and not go back to the sacrificial system in the temple so he's emphasizing to them you know what he says brethren Yeshua God the son did not become an angel angels cannot save angels do not become a man angels could not bring you life angels could not do more than just to serve you and to minister to you because God had gave them this authority to do but no more but he God the Son became a man suffered on the cross died for our sins and he took upon himself the seed of Abraham the father of all our people all our Jewish people is Abraham if you read in the Gospels in fact this is how the Gospels begin in the Gospel of Matthew chapter 1 this is the book.

Of the generation of Yeshua the Messiah the son of David the son of Abraham Yeshua is a descendant of Abraham Avinu of Abraham our father you can be assured that he is the one that you can trust he is a descendant of your people he is a descendant of Abraham descendant of David you see these people knew their Bible they knew what the prophets had said when the Messiah will come when this great king will come he will be a descendant of Abraham he will be a son of David that's why they call him in his life son of David son of David have mercy on us because they knew that he is a descendant of Abraham Isaac Jacob Judah and eventually the family of David he became a Jewish man and that's why it is very important in fact it was Yeshua himself who said in the gospel of John and let me read this verse he says Yeshua said unto the woman in John chapter 4 woman verse 21 believe me the hour is.

Coming when ye shall neither in this mountain nor yet at Jerusalem worship the father you worship ye know not what but we worship we know what we worship for salvation is of the Jews even Yeshua himself said if the salvation will come to this world if the person of the Messiah going to come to this world he's going to come to this world through the Jewish people a descendant of Abraham Isaac and Jacob and then through the tribe of Judah and through the family of David and that's why he says in verse 16 verily he took not on him the nature of angels but he took upon him to become the seed of Abraham, a descendant of Abraham.

And so this is the second result. The first result was that he brought many sons unto glory. Hebrews 2 verses 10 to 13. The second result is the fact that he destroyed or disarmed Satan and have delivered or freed us from the fear of death. This is in Hebrews 2, verses 14 to 16. And here's the last result in connection with the work of the Messiah, with the man, Yeshua, in verses 17 and 18. He sympathized with his people. He sympathized. Now that he became a man, God became a man, lived on earth for these 33 years, went to the cross and suffered by the hand of man, suffered by the hand of God, was buried after death, resurrected and ascended.

Now he can sympathize with his own people. That's what the last verses 17 and 18 of this chapter teaches us. Look at this. I'm reading those two verses. Wherefore, in all things it behooves him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation, or it should be really propitiation, for the sins of the people. For in that he himself suffered and tested, being tested, he is able to aid them that are tempted or tested. Now that is important for us. Why this thing is very important for us is like we said earlier.

Someone might come and say, well, listen, brother, you're talking about Jesus, you're talking about Yeshua and what he has done, but he doesn't understand what I'm going through. He doesn't understand the experiences that I go through, the suffering, the trial, the pain, the sorrow. Well, here he's teaching us these verses that now the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, became, after he finished the work on the cross, on the tree, he now became a merciful and a faithful high priest. What is a high priest's Job? When Aaron, the high priest of Israel, was serving among the people of Israel in the desert, in the wilderness, Aaron was going before God to represent the people.

He's backwards towards the people and he went his face towards God and he was representing the people before God. He was a holy priest. Then he turned around, received the information from God and presenting God before the people. He became a royal priest. You see, this is exactly what the Lord Yeshua the Messiah does for us right now and more because Aaron could really never enter into every problem that you and I have. He never understood every issue in every situation that every person from among the people of Israel have, but Yeshua could. He has suffered, he has been tempted and tested all the way through, so there is nothing that you and I go through that he hasn't gone through.

And that's why it says here, he's merciful. He's merciful towards you and I, and he's faithful towards God. Aaron was not faithful. You and I were not always faithful. But he's faithful towards God. Aaron could never be perfectly merciful, but Yeshua is perfectly merciful towards you and I. He has so much mercy towards us and grace towards us. He became, for his brethren, he became a merciful and a faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people what does that mean to make propitiation you see the word propitiation i know in the king James it says reconciliation but actually in the Greek it is propitiation to propitiate it means to satisfy God do you know beloved today you and i every sin that you and i have committed today today maybe before we came to the meeting and every sin that perhaps we all commit even right now as we are even sitting here and every sin that we will commit after we are going to leave this meeting for these sins the Lord Jesus died and he is lifting up his hands lifting up his hands before the Father and he says Father for these sins I have died look at my hands look at my side he was pierced through with a sword his hands have been placed upon the cross.

When they crucified him when they put him to death and now he become this great high priest who is interceding on our behalf and in a special way right now when it's come to his priesthood to make propitiation, to satisfy the righteous requirement of God for the sins of the people. Oh yes, we do sin even after we became believers. You and I know it. Our sins do not take away our relationship with the Lord. But what the sins do it takes away from the enjoyment of the relationship that we have with the Lord and that's why he's lifting up his hands and the blood is representing the punishment that he paid for the sins of the people as a priest he's there representing us before God because of our sins and he's also our advocate as well as our lawyer as well he's presenting us before the Lord for two things number one for our sins number two for our weaknesses as a priest he does not sympathize with our sins he sympathize with our weakness but as our advocate as our lawyer he there standing there, presenting us before God with respect to every sin that we commit as believers right now.

And that's why it says in the last verse, for in that he himself suffered, being tested and tempted, he's able to aid. The word sucker in the English here, it should be aid or to bring help when it's needed to them that are tempted. Are you tempted today am i tempted today we sure are being tested and tempted every day of our life you turn the television you are being tempted you look around you are being tested and tempted by the world by Satan and by the flesh we are being tempted on every hand and tested and many times we have to admit we fail and we sin but not him that's why it says that he suffered and been tempted yet he never sinned he is able to aid us who are going through these experiences every day of our life and brothers and sisters you know we have to know that we have to understand that We have somebody, we have a person, a high priest that is always ready to help us in every situation.

There is no excuse in the world when we fall into sin to blame God or to blame anybody else. It is always him. We have the one that is willing to help us and to aid us in every situation. The question is, are we allowing him to help us? Are we allowing him to come and to give us the hand that we need? And so, beloved, here's the three reasons that he's telling to those Hebrews. The consequence of his work as man. Number one, he brought many sons unto glory. Verses 10 to 13 of Hebrews 2. Number two, he disarmed Satan and he freed us from the fear of death.

Hebrews 2, verses 14 to 16. And number three, he sympathized with his own people. Hebrews 2, verses 17 and 18. Angels could never do so. But God, as men, in the person of Yeshua, the Messiah, could do so. And he still does so to the Hebrews of the past and to the believers of this present day. We can praise God and thank him for what he did for us. Can you say Amen to that?
