Okay. Well, Shalom everyone. Can you please turn with me this meeting to Hebrews chapter one. Hebrews is a book that we have began to talk about and to share with you already in our last meeting together. This is prior to last Shabbat meeting, where we have been dealing with Pesach, with Passover. And today I want to continue to talk about the verses that are found in chapter one, but the second half of this chapter, beginning from verse four. Let me read these verses. Hebrews one and verses four to verse 14. The writer is speaking about Yeshua, about the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, and he says, being made so much better than the angels, as he by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

For unto which of which of which of the angels said he at any time, thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. And again, when he brings in the first begotten into the world, he saith, and let all the angels of God worship him. And of the angels, he saith, who maketh his angels spirit, and his ministers a flame of fire. But unto the Son, he saith, thy throne of God is forever and ever. The scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom? Thou hast loved righteousness and hated iniquity.

Therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. And thou, O Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of thine hand. They shall perish, but thou remainest. They shall all wax old as doth a garment. And as a vesture shall they fall them up, or shall thou fall them out. And they shall be changed, but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

And the chapter here actually concludes, but you know, as we have often said, that really, the divisions of the chapter are not necessarily inspired. And we really should continue into chapter 2 where it says, Therefore, therefore we ought to give a more earnest heed to the things which we have heard. But we're not going to touch this now, because that's going to be on our next session, where we're going to talk about some of the warnings that we have in the Bible, in the Scriptures, that God is warning his very own people whom he loved dearly. Now, let me just refresh your mind. Hebrews, the way to say in Hebrew is El Ha-Ivrim.

Here's a letter that was written to Hebrews. It was written to Hebrews by a writer whom we do not know. We do not know who wrote to those Hebrews this wonderful epistle, wonderful letter, which is extremely important to understand from first century point of view. We are living today in the year 2008, about 2,000 years gone by, or 1,900 years gone by, since this letter had been written to first century Hebrew believers. And there are all kinds of things that have been developed over the years by Christians, by people who believe in the Lord Jesus or professing Christians. But here, when we read this epistle, it's important for us to understand it from a first century Hebrew messianic perspective.

When the writer, by the way, wrote to these Hebrews, he was writing to Jewish people who came to faith in the Messiah, struggling because something new had happened. The rest of our nation have not accepted the Messiah. A small group of people come to faith in the Messiah. They have been under pressure, under opposition. The temple sacrifices is going on. They see the sacrifices being offered every day and they are struggling. What shall we do? Should we go back to the sacrificial system? Or should we abandon it because the Messiah, Yeshua, have come? Should I lose my relationship with my people, with my family, with the temple?

Or should I just allow this to happen and continue to follow after this man by the name of Yeshua? Well, the writer understood the struggles. And you and I, who love the Jewish people and are Jewish, those of us who are, we understand the struggles that our own people are going through. We understand it. We understand the necessity to explain to Jewish people this letter from a Hebrew messianic first century perspective. And that's what I'm seeking by the grace of God to do as we are discussing and learning from this epistle. Now, what's important for us to get a hold of here is that what the writer wants to really do.

He says, listen, when you have the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, you have everything. You're not lacking anything at all when you have the Lord Yeshua, the Messiah, because he's superior than anyone that ever came before him or even will come after him. He's superior to anyone that ever have been. And the whole letter deals with Moses as the man of God, with the priesthood, Aaron as the high priest, and with all prophets and all kind, including the angels, which were very important for the Jewish people. And he's showing to them that the Lord Yeshua, the Messiah, is superior to all that have come before him.

And he's told them, you remember, we have discussed the first three verses. He told them already that God, who spoke in time past, to our fathers, the Hebrew fathers, through the prophets, has spoken in the last days in the person of his son. He said to us, he gave us seven things about the son. He says that he is the heir. He is the one who has made the world the creator. He is the one that is the brightness of God's glory. He is the one that is the express image of God's person. He is the one that upholds all things by the word of his power.

And he is the one that purged our sins by himself when he died for us on the cross. And that he sat down. He finished the work. He finished the work. When he finished the work, he sat down. He's done with the work of redemption. He is now finally sitting down on the right hand of the majesty on high. God has placed him in the pinnacle of the universe. He sat down. But then, beloved, from the next verses, verses 4 to 14, he gives those Hebrew believers, Hebrew Christians, he gives them in those 10, 11 verses, he shows them, listen, brethren, listen, Hebrew believers in Yeshua the Messiah. And he's also speaking to us today, Jew or non-Jew.

He's speaking to us. He says, listen, the Lord Jesus the Messiah is superior than to the angels that have been given, have been brought forth to be used by God as a servant to the nation of Israel. Now, you and I might today not appreciate the fact of the importance of the angels. I know we hear a lot of people talking about demons here and demons there and demon activity here and demon activity there, but we are looking at the demonic activities that is going on and happened, perhaps in many areas in the world, not even with the understanding that demons are actually angels, but they're falling angels.

Here, the writer is wanting to show to these Hebrew believers the fact that the Messiah is so much superior to the angels and he gives them, verse by verse, a proof from the Tanakh, from the Old Testament. Remember? They do not have the scriptures, the New Testament, in their hand. They don't have yet, perhaps, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. They don't have Acts. They don't have the epistles in their hand yet. They don't have the book of the Revelation. All what they have is the Tanakh, the Old Testament. And he proves to them, from the Tanakh, from the Old Testament, that the Messiah is superior to the angels that have been given by God as servants to Israel.

Let me just remind you, for example, we hear a lot in the scripture, for example, in the book of Daniel, we hear about the angel Michael, Michael. We hear about the angel Gavriel. Gavriel, in Hebrew, he was the Gavriel, the strength of God. Michael, who is like God? These are angels. Michael, for example, was an angel that was the archangel that God has assigned him to be an angel that will serve the people of Israel. Read it in the book of Daniel. We have many angels. We have the seraphim. We have the cherubim. You remember Isaiah in chapter 6? He says that he has seen a vision from the Lord, from heaven.

And he saw that the temple was shaking. And that the foundation of the temple was shaking. And what was he seeing? He was seeing a vision from the Lord. And if you remember in Isaiah, in chapter 6, that he said, The seraphim, he saw them, each one had six wings. With two, they covered their face. With two, they covered their feet. And with two, they did fly. These were angels. These were angels. The seraphim. Six wings. Creatures. That God had created to be servants. To serve the people of Israel. And to serve God. And you remember they cried, Kadosh, Kadosh, Kadosh. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts.

The whole earth is being filled with his glory. These were angels. The seraphim. The cherubim. You remember in the tabernacle, in the Ark of the Covenant, in the Holy of Holy, there were the two cherubim right upon the Ark of the Covenant. And they faced each other. And the wings were facing, hiding, protecting, guarding the holiness of God. The angels. They were very important for the people of Israel. And that's why the writer to the Hebrews is writing to these believers to encourage them to see the Messiah is superior than to the angels. Now, there's another thing that is important that you and I may not know.

You know, we watched movies at a time about the Ten Commandments. And I know we loved that movie by Charlton Heston. And he was a great actor. He acted Moses and so on. And you remember he went to Mount Sinai, Har Sinai, and he received from God the Ten Commandments. But do you know that why we don't read it in the Scriptures? In Exodus chapter 20, we do read in the Scripture elsewhere that he received the law by the disposition of angels. He didn't just receive it directly from God. According to the Scriptures, in Acts chapter 7, and in Galatians chapter 3, we read that he, Moshe, and Israel received the tablets, received the law by the disposition of angels.

Let me read you that verse in Acts chapter 7, and verse 53. We read this. Who have received the law by the disposition of angels and have not kept it. Acts 7, and verse 53. No one has kept the law. We know it. Not only Israel. But they received, Israel as a nation, received the law via the disposition of angels. Angels were serving in giving the law to the nation. The importance of angels to the people of Israel. So now, beloved, here the apostle, here's the writer. We do not know again who wrote that. We assume, perhaps, is Shaul or Paul, some suggest that it is the apostle Paul who have written this letter to the Hebrews.

He is encouraging the believers to move forward because Yeshua is superior than the angels. So now, look at this. We begin in verse 4, and the first thing that he's telling them now in verses 4 and 5, that Yeshua has obtained a more excellent name than the name of the angels. Look at this. It says in verse 4, being made so much better or superior than the angels, as he has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than the day. For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee. And again, I will be to him a father, and he will be to me a son.

You notice, by the way, brothers and sisters, the Lord Jesus, Yeshua, the Messiah, has a superior relationship to God the Father than even the angels had. See, the angels, it says, he became superior or much better than the angels as he has by inheritance has obtained a more excellent name than they. What's in a name? Well, you know, in the name, there is so much in a name. You know, when Yeshua was born, they call his name Yeshua. I know in English or in Greek they call him Yesus or Jesus, but the Hebrew name Yeshua has a meaning. You shall call his name Yeshua. Why Yeshua?

Because he is going Lehoshia, he is going to save. The meaning in Hebrew Yeshua means Jehovah, the Savior. He obtained a more excellent name than they. Why? Because he has a relationship with God that is superior than the angels. He is the Son. It says here in verse 5, For unto which of the angels said he at any time, You are my Son. This day have I begotten thee. And he said, I will be to him a father and he will be to me a son. You know, even though the angels had a wonderful relationship with God, they were servants of God. They used every word he spoke, they were ready to move at the bidding of God.

But angels were angels and they were only servants. God has created the angels to be servants to the nations of the world, to the nation of Israel. but he never gave to any one of the angels the name Son. He never gave to any one of the angels a relationship that he had with his beloved Son, the Lord Jesus the Messiah. It says again, and I'm repeating verse 5b, it says, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. By the way, this is a quotation from Psalm 2. The quotation from Psalm 2 is that in Psalm 2, the psalmist is declaring that God is saying, You are my Son.

God is speaking to the Son. You know, many times when we ask our own people, our family, you know, do you know that God has a Son? They say, you find for us anywhere in the Hebrew Scripture where God had a Son. Well, we learn it from the book of Psalm. Thou art my Son. At the end of Psalm 2, it says, Kiss the Son lest ye perish. Let he be angry and he perish from the way. The God had a Son. We might not understand that, but the triunity of God is, God is existing and consisting of three persons, the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, one God, three persons, but God has a Son.

But here He is calling Him a Son in incarnation and resurrection. Thou art my Son. This day have I begotten Thee. You see, the Lord Jesus, when He entered into this world, He was not only the Son of the Father in eternity past, but He also became the Son of the Father in humanity, in incarnation and in resurrection. When He entered into this world, God gave Him the title, the name, Son. And He gave Him a name which is above every name. Philippians chapter 2 says that the name of Jesus, of Yeshua, every knee shall bow, every tongue will confess that Yeshua, the Messiah, is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

And you notice what He does, the writer, He quoting always Old Testament Scripture. When you talk to a Hebrew individual, to a Jewish people, to our own people, you cannot begin with Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, even though those writers were all Jews. But you have to quote, you have to give our people the Old Testament Scripture. And from the Psalm, we read that God had given him a name which is above every name and that He called him a son. And unto the Son, as it says here, it says, this day have I begotten thee. And so, Yeshua, in verses 4 and 5, is superior than the angels because He has a superior relationship.

He is the Son. He has a better name. Yeshua has a superior name. And you shall call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins. That is in verses 4 and 5. in verse 6, now He tells us another thing that is very important. Not only that He has a better name because of His better relationship that He has with the Father, but now He is showing to them that this man, by the name of Jesus, is the one that everybody worships, everybody responsible to worship. no one is allowed to worship the angels, but everyone must worship the Son. Notice in verse 6, and again, when He bringeth in the first begotten into the world, He saith, and now He's quoting from Psalm 97, in verse 7, let all the angels of God worship Him.

Now, that is amazing. you know, if, I heard this being said, very profound, if the Lord Yeshua the Messiah was not divine, and then you and I, and millions over the generations have worshipped Him, we are going to have idolaters in heaven, people who are idolaters, but you see, we worship Him because He is the eternal Son of God. we are never to worship an angel, we are never to worship men, but we can worship the Lord Yeshua the Messiah because He is divine nature. That's why we worship Him. He is God. Do you know, by the way, that the first commandment, in the Ten Commandments, in Exodus chapter 20, is, thou shall have no other God before me.

You know, Israel broke that commandment when Moses received the Ten Commandments, he came into the camp and he heard this noise, these voices, and you remember, they worshiped the golden calf that they have situated there, and the first thing that we learned, that Moses broke the Ten Commandments because had he brought the Ten Commandments in the midst of the camp, all had been consumed. But he broke them, lest they will enter, because the very first commandment was, thou shalt have no other God before me. Well, notice what we read here. Let all the angels of God worship Him. Yeshua is to be worshipped while the angels cannot be worshipped.

You remember when the apostle John in the book of Revelation we read in chapter 1, when he saw that vision of the exalted Messiah, and you remember what happened to him, he wanted, he fell on his feet as dead, and you remember this, that this angel lifted him up, he didn't want him to worship him, because he knew that he cannot be worshipped, but the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, can be worshipped, and ought to be worshipped, and he will be worshipped throughout eternity, because of the fact that he is the son of God, he is God, the son, he is superior than the angels, in that he ought to be worshipped, but the angels never

to be worshipped at all, and that's why he is superior to the angels, and that's why we can get the encouragement from these verses that we can worship him, and praise him, so he is superior, he has a superior name, because he has a superior relationship, he is superior in the fact that he can be worshipped, while the angels could never be worshipped whatsoever, thirdly now, moving on, and he said in verse 7, and of the angels, he saith, who maketh his angels spirits, and his servants a flame of fire, now here we see another thing in verse 7, that the angels are servants, while the Lord Jesus the Messiah is to be served, the

angels are servants, and by the way, he is taking this from Psalm 104, and there we find out that the angels are spirits to be ministering spirits, to serve the people of God, that's what the angels are for, angels are servants, while the Lord Yeshua the Messiah is to be served, turn to Matthew chapter 4 for a moment, I show you a verse still, Matthew chapter 4 and verse 11, you remember when the Lord had been tested and tempted, Matthew chapter 4, at the end of the temptation and the testing, it says like this, you remember after Yeshua said to Satan in verse 10, get thee hence Satan, for it is written, thou shalt worship

the Lord thy God, and him only shall thou serve, and then we read, and the devil left him, and behold, angels came and served him, and ministered unto him, you see, the angels are serving him, the angels are ministering spirits, just exactly what he said at the end of chapter 1, are they not all ministering spirits, Hebrews 1 and verse 14, they are ministering spirits, but he is the one that the angels do serve and minister, you see, he is superior than the angels, the angels are important, but they are not like the Messiah, that's what he is saying, look beyond the angels to the person of the Lord Jesus the Messiah, because he has

a better name, verses 4 and 5, he has worship been addressed unto him while they are not, and he is the one that are served while the angels are serving, they serve him, he is not serving them, they are actually serving us as well, they serve, they minister to the people of God, and that's why the Lord is superior than they, but now here is the next thing, and those of us who are aware of those who do not believe that Yeshua is God, they need to read that verse, the next verse, many do not believe that Jesus, that Yeshua is divine, that he is God, and here he is addressing even those people, and

he says in verse 8 and 9, he's saying that Yeshua is superior than the angels, that because they are angels, and he is God, it says in verse 8, but unto the Son, he says, thy throne, O God, is forever and ever, a scepter of righteousness is a scepter of thy kingdom, you have loved righteousness and hated iniquity, therefore, God, even thy God, have anointed thee with the oil of gladness above all thy fellows, you see, he's telling us here that God, the Father, called him God, thy throne, O God, is forever and ever, and by the way, again, this is a quotation from Psalm 45, again, he always take them to the Hebrew scripture,

to the Tanakh, to show them that whatever he's saying is based upon scripture, and what about the divine nature, is Jesus God or no?

Well, that is important, you know what, I don't believe anybody can be saved, I don't believe anybody can be saved, unless he or she understand that the Lord Yeshua, the Messiah, is God, you cannot be saved without acknowledging the deity of the Messiah, it is so sad to hear people talk about Jesus, this and all kind of expression about the Lord Jesus, but when you ask them, do you believe that Yeshua, the Lord Jesus, is divine? They say, oh, no, no, no, he's a great angel, you see, he's a great creature, God have created him at a certain point in time in history, some even believe that he is Michael the angel, the Jehovah witness, the Mormons, I don't know if you have those people who knock at your door, and they're going to tell you everything about the future, they have everything, all kind of information, but the moment you ask them the simple Aleph Bet, as we say it in Hebrew, the ABC, do you believe that Yeshua is God?

Oh, no, they say. Well, my Bible teaches me, teaches us, that God, the Father, called him God. Thy throne, oh God, is for how long? Is forever and ever. It's not a temporary throne, it's forever and ever. a scepter of righteousness is a scepter of thy kingdom. He's divine. The whole New Testament is filled with this expression. John 1, 1, in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. He's divine. Colossians 3, tell us, verse 15, that he's divine. We read verse 15, 16, and other passages, teaches us of his divine nature. He is God. You remember Thomas? In John chapter 20, Thomas was not at the upper room after the resurrection of the Messiah.

He was not at the upper room, and everybody told him, you know, we have seen the Lord. And he says, I was not going to believe until I thrust my hand into his side. And the following week came, we read in John chapter 20, the following week came to pass, and we find out that the Lord had appeared to Thomas, and you notice the expression that Thomas is using there in this chapter. Thomas said to him in verse 28, he says, my Lord and my God. That's what Thomas is saying. When Thomas realized that this was the one, the Messiah that died once and was buried and resurrection and appeared to the disciples in the upper room, he was amazed and he recognized that Yeshua is the Messiah.

That's why he said to him, my Lord and my God. There's another verse that I need to read in 1 John. Again, it is John who speaks about it. In 1 John chapter 5 and verse 20, we read, and we know that the Son of God has come and that he has given us an understanding that we may know him that is true, that we are in him that is true, even in his Son, Yeshua the Messiah, Jesus the Messiah. This is the true God, an eternal lie. for me, when I have heard about the fact that the Lord Jesus is a divine person, it really changed my whole perspective with regard to the knowledge of salvation, to the truth of salvation.

I realize now, now I can see that I can trust in him because only God can save. Man cannot save. Angel cannot save. The best of us cannot save. Only God can become my Savior. and he sure did. When God became a man, he was born to a virgin Miriam, the Hebrew virgin. There was no sin in him at all because he was born in a supernatural way. The Holy Spirit of God had placed in the womb of this woman by the name of Miriam that person, that seed that brought forth this man into this world. Not only a perfect man, but the eternal Son of God entered into this world in human flesh.

And that is an amazing truth to grasp. So, Hebrews, the writers say, why I want you to continue on following the Lord Jesus, the Messiah, Yeshua, the Messiah, I know you have been persecuted, I know I'm part of you, I know the experiences that you go through, but I'm telling you that there is no answer other than the person of the Lord Jesus, the Messiah. He is superior than the angels, that he has a better name than them, he is being worshipped, he is served, and he is divine. He is God. Even though you get discouraged from your families, your brethren, even though you see the sacrificial system continue on, and the sacrifices have been offered at the temple in Jerusalem, Hebrew believers in Yeshua, the Messiah, move on, continue on.

That's the promised Messiah that our forefathers have spoken about. He came, even the rest of the nation haven't accepted him, yet you move on, trust him, follow him, continue on, even in spite of rejection, misunderstanding, and persecution. Now he continued, beloved, a couple more points here. We have in the next verse, in verse 10, in verse 10, he takes them to Psalm 102, and in verse 10, he showed them that he is the creator while the angels are only creatures. You know that the angels have been created by God, but he is the creator. He says in verse 10, Thou, O Lord, in the beginning has laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of thine hands.

You see, Yeshua is the one that has laid the foundation of this earth. That's the man that you and I are occupied with. He is the creator God who has made heaven and earth. He has laid down the foundation of this earth. The heavens are the works of his hands. By the way, we can take other verses in connection, New Testament passages in connection with it. Colossians 1 and John 1, those passages from the New Testament establish the fact that he is the creator. But the psalmists already have told us, he has laid the foundation of this earth, and the heavens are the works of his hands.

You see, heaven and earth. Genesis 1, 1 in the beginning, God created the heavens and this earth. Well, both of them is the work of his hands. He has spoken a word and everything came to pass. He is the creator. And as a creator, we've discussed this before, he made us, he made men, he made the human race. in acts in acts we mentioned before, in him we move and live and have our being. He's a creator. He gives us breath, gives us life. The world that we live in, this beautiful world that we live in, the trees, all the planets, and all what we have in this world is on creation.

He has given to us to enjoy. He's the creator. Why should we worship or be occupied with a creature when we can be occupied with the creator? And that's why he's telling those Hebrew believers, encouraging them that Yeshua is truly not only that he has a better name, he's being worshipped, he's being served, he's God, but he's also the creator of heaven and earth. The heaven is the work of his hand and he laid the foundation of this earth. Nothing was done without him. Nothing was done without his word. And then there's a few more things that he's telling them now in verses 11 and 12. You know, they were troubled on every hand.

They were persecuted, those early Jewish believers. They had a lot of pressure. And then he's telling them now in the next verses, verses 11 and 12, that he is an unchanging person. Look at this. He's saying now in verse 11 and 12, speaking about the heaven and earth, they shall perish, but you remain. They all shall wax old as doth a garment, and as vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed. But thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. Here's another encouraging passage to these Hebrew believers. He says, you know what, brethren, everything changes here in this world, but he changes not. Everything fall apart, even the heavens and the earth which you and I enjoy today is that they shall perish.

But God, but the Son, but the Messiah remain the same. Don't you feel that, brothers and sisters, in your life, there are some days that we are up on a mountain, but there are other days that we are down in the valley. Some days we are going for God, we're going to be good, we're going to live a good life, live for the Lord, and other days we are so far for where we should be. We made commitments and promises and we said, I'm going to do this and I'm going to keep that, and then things change and we change, but he never changed. He never changes.

The same writer later on is going to tell them in chapter 13, Yeshua, the Messiah, the same yesterday, today, and forever. Do you know when sometimes our relationship with the Lord is growing dull, do you know the person that moved is not the Lord, but it's always us. Always sin that come into our lives, disobedience that come into our lives, selfishness that come into our lives, or that we allow to get the control of our lives, we change, but he never changes. Never changes. The last book of the Old Testament scripture, the Tanakh, in the book of Malachi, let me read this to you, Malachi chapter 3, almost the last part of the Tanakh.

we read about the promise of God. Look at this, chapter 3, Malachi 3, we read this in verse 6, I am the Lord, I change not, God said to his people Israel, therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. You see, God is unchanging, and if he would change, Jacob will be totally consumed. Do you know if the Lord Jesus the Messiah will change, the church will be totally consumed because of the failure and the sin that come into our lives, the disobedience, the change that is going through our lives, we are not steady as we should be.

But he is telling those Hebrews, you know, beloved brethren, he is saying to them, he says, the heavens will perish, the earth will perish, everything will wax old like a garment, you know, garment clothes that we wear, we wear it again and again and again and again, and after a while it gets old, it's wrinkled, it's not nice anymore, it's not clean anymore, you washed it so many times, and it's at the end, you have to cast this away, that's what happened to this world, look at the world in which we live in, look at the fact that it's like a garment that's been used and used and used and many times abused by us,

but he says but thou art the same and thy years shall not fail when things go wrong and bad in our lives it's such a comfort to know that we can always trust the Lord Yeshua the Messiah we can always lean on him he never changes he is remaining the same his love for us his love for those Hebrew believers in first century never changed he loved them when they were persecuted and troubled on every hand his love towards them never changed I know sometimes we feel like he loves us less when we have problems in our lives but I tell you beloved brothers and sisters on the basis of the word of God that

his love towards us never changes one bit because of his person he never changed for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that's the beauty of the love of God we read in the prophet of Israel that I have loved you Jeremiah with an everlasting love his love to Israel had never changed never changed and what about the love for the church for the Messiah loved the church and gave himself for her the love for the believers in this present day have never changed because of the person that he is everything changes but he remains the same and you notice why we compare it to the angels do you know

why do you remember what happened when the angels have been created they have been created to serve God but you know what happened even Lucifer that had been a privileged angel he was not satisfied with this place he wanted to get a higher position he wanted to dethrone God and to place himself to be as God and God cast him down and then there were angels who would follow after him which we call them today demons you read it in the book of revelation one third of the angelic being followed after the serpent after satan and became what is known today as demons they changed they changed but he never changes he remained the same

now quickly let's go down to the next verse in verse 13 we're just about at the end of chapter 1 in verse 13 again he emphasized the fact that Yeshua is superior than the angels in the fact that he had finished his work and he is seated at the right hand of the majesty on high notice verse 13 but to which of the angels he had said at any time sit on my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool do you know he again quoting Old Testament scripture the Tanakh he's quoting Psalm 110 in verse 1 where it says the Lord saith unto my Lord sit down on my right hand until I

make thine enemies thy footstool he sat down he finished the work see the angels they have to work they have to serve they have to continue to minister they have to do the bidding of God that's their job that's their service but him he finished the work when he died for us on the tree that's why he says to none of these angels he ever said to him sit down on my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool to the Lord Yeshua the Messiah he said sit down and and why it is important to sit down and I told you this before why is it so important to these Hebrews see a person

in North America or any place in the world they will never understand the importance of sitting down why because the Jewish people to whom God had given the tabernacle and the temple every time that they have gone to the temple or the tabernacle throughout there was no seat in the temple but he sat down how could he sit down a person that sit down like when I'm going to do something when I'm going to finish here I'm going to sit down a person that sit down is a person that finished something to do the Lord Jesus the Messiah finished the work on the cross you remember Matthew chapter 27 and John chapter 19 he says

it is finished he yielded up the spirit gave up the spirit and he finished the work it is finished John 17 Yeshua said father I have finished the work which you have given me to do now glorify me father with the glory which I had with you before the foundation of the world he finished the work that means that our salvation is secure our sins have been dealt with once and for all we are not getting saved one day and getting lost the other day we are saved for sure forever throughout eternity because he finished the work on the tree and that's why it says sit down on my right hand until when well until

I make your enemies your footstool there are many enemies that oppose the work of the Lord say we will not have this man to rule over us we don't want him as our Lord we don't want him as our savior and God says wait for the day that all your enemies going to be underneath your foot and there's coming a day when those who will reject the Messiah will have to recognize who he is the Lord Jesus the Lord Yeshua is the one that is sitting down and he has many enemies that eventually will have to be under his foot soon at his coming and then he closes this chapter by saying to us about

these angels angels are ministers to the ones that are heirs of salvation you notice the last verse of this chapter for or are they that is the angels are they not all ministering spirits for who why to whom well it says sent forth they are sent forth by God to minister to who to them or for them who shall be heirs of salvation you see the angels have been sent by God to minister to the people of God they are ministers they are servants they are to minister to the people of God now there are four things you can write these verses in your own Bible or piece of paper there are four things that

angels do as ministers the first thing they do you find it in Ecclesiastes 5 and verse 6 angels observe what we say do you know that angels know what we are saying and observe what we say if you say something bad about another they observe they know that they see they watch you they watch us the Lord watch us also but he says here if you read in the book of Ecclesiastes you'll find that angels observe what we say Ecclesiastes chapter 5 and verse 6 I mean I read this verse Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin neither say thou before the angel that it was an error wherefore should God be

angry at thy voice and destroy the work of thine hand suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin neither say you before the angel it's an old testament passage Ecclesiastes 5 be careful what you say because angels listen to what you say they are not God they are not superior than the Lord because the Lord is superior than them but they are servants who minister to God and they observe what we say the next thing in 1st Corinthians 4 verse 9 angels observe us when we suffer do you know that that when we go through sufferings and trials in our lives they observe they see that they are servants of God they are

observing the sufferings that a person may go through they observe and God may use them to do something for the benefit of the people of God again another thing angels observe what we wear do you know that in 1st Corinthians 11 verse 10 the woman in assembly is called to cover her head why you read it ladies read it in 1st Corinthians 11 it's not what I say it says it for the angel sake why because there is order in creation God has set an order in creation God the Messiah the man the woman not because the man is better but the woman is to cover her head and the head is the man is

her head and we the man our head is Christ and we are to uncover our head because Christ we are not to be revealed that's why the woman cover her head but the Messiah has to be revealed that's why man is not to cover his head 1st Corinthians chapter 11 and verse 10 and finally angels observe and serve by escorting believers to heaven you know that in Luke 16 we read when Lazarus died he was carried by the angels when the rich man died we don't read that he was carried by an angel Luke 16 you read it Lazarus when he died he was carried by the angels angels are ministering spirits as we have

here in verse 14 they are to minister to those that are going to be the heirs of salvation this is the believers but how great angels are the Lord Yeshua the Messiah is superior than they because he has a more excellent name he is worshipped he is served he is God he is a creator he is unchanging he is the same and he is seated at the right hand of the majesty on high and we are going to worship him throughout eternity and we better start here and now can we say amen to that
