Shabbat Shalom. Our study today is in the book of Esther, chapter 6. It is an important study of the Word of God that teaches us of the sovereignty of God and that everything that happened in the history of God's people, whether it is Israel historically or the body of Messiah today, God is using all situations to work out His own purposes in order to bring His plan for His own people and for the whole world in which we live in. Esther chapter 6 teaches us another lesson. so I would like you to follow me as I'm reading those 14 verses. Esther 6, verses 1 to 14. On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles, and they were read before the king.
And it was found written that Mordechai had told of Biktana, And Teresh, two of the king's chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on King Achashverosh. And the king said, What honor and dignity has been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him. And the king said, Who is in the court? Now Haman was come into the outward court of the king's house to speak unto the king to hang Mordechai on the gallows that he had prepared for him. And the king's servant said unto him, Behold, Haman standeth in the court.
And the king said, Let him come in. So Haman came in, and the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honor? Now Haman thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honor more than to myself? And Haman answered the king, For the man whom the king delights to honor, let the royal apparel be brought, which the king uses to wear, and the horse that the king rideth upon, and the crown royal which is set upon his head. and let this apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king's most noble princes that they may array the men with all whom the king delights to honor and bring him on horseback through the street of the city And proclaim before him, Thus shall it be done to the men whom the king delights to honor.
Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, as thou hadst said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king's gate. let nothing fail of all that thou had spoken then took Haman the apparel and the horse and arrayed Mordechai and brought him on horseback through the street of the city and proclaimed before him thus shall it be done unto the men whom the king delights to honor and Mordechai came again to the king's gate but Haman hasted to his house mourning and having his head covered and Haman told Zeresh his wife and all his friends everything that had befallen him then said his wise man and Zeresh his wife unto him if Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews before whom thou hast begun to fall thou shalt not prevail against him but shalt surely fall before him and while they were yet talking with him came the king's chamber lines and hasted to bring Haman unto the banquet that Esther had prepared if you're like me many years ago in Israel, in Jerusalem We were reading those stories of Queen Esther and Achashverosh, the king, and Haman Harashah, these evil men, and of course, Mordechai the Jew.
We were sitting and reading it, whether it is at home or whether it is my parents or whether it is my grandparents or in the synagogue. It was fascinating to me, those stories. I'd love to really listen to those stories because those stories convey so much to the hearts of those who read them if they really want to find out the manners and the ways of the Lord in the life of all men and in this case in the life of our own Jewish people, the people of Israel. Well, beloved brothers and sisters, this is a tremendous experience. Here we have Jewish people who should have been in Judah, in Judea, in Yerushalayim, in the land of Israel, in the land of Canaan.
but instead of being in the land they remain in Babylon in Persia and they found themselves there among the 127 provinces of the Persian empire and instead of being in the homeland sacrificing the offering upon the altar in the temple in Yerushalayim they find themselves now still in the persian empire and animosity rises against them the animosity from all over and how specifically in the book of esther we learn of one distinct man who is an agagite who is an amalekite from amalek who specifically hated the jewish people and wanted to destroy our nation the nation of Israel and the Jewish community? Well, he had a plan.
He already in chapter 3 and chapter 4 wrote an instruction that all Jews going to be killed on the 13th day of the last month of the year, the month of Adar. And he made a plan and he sent it all throughout Persia. And then Mordechai, the Jew began to weep and mourn. And as he mourned and weep, he's telling Esther, who was already the queen, you might say, sitting in a very comfortable position, he says, Esther, you've got to do something about it. You have to speak on behalf of your people. And Esther, as we have already studied, did not want at the beginning to say anything because her own husband, King Achashverosh, did not know that she is Jewish.
And no one could come near to him. For 30 days, he never invited her to come to his presence. And so finally she said to Mordechai, I will go. I will do it. If I perish, I perish. Whatever is going to happen, it's going to happen. You fast and all the Jewish community will fast. And so they did. In the meanwhile, we find out that Haman, this evil man, in that previous chapter that we studied in chapter 5, began already to prepare himself for destruction of the Jewish people, and he was so unhappy that Mordecai, this Jewish man, never bowed before him. And you know what he did, beloved brothers and sisters?
If you remember, the last verse that we have read in chapter 5, his wife said to him, then said Zeresh's wife and all his friends unto him, let a gallop be made of 50 cubits high, 75 feet high. And what you're going to do, you are going to speak unto the king that Mordechai may be hanged thereon. Then you will go merrily with the king and to the banquet which Esther had prepared. In other words, his wife gave him this poor counsel, poor counsel that his friend, you better destroy this Mordechai, Go tell it to the king and then go and have a nice banquet with the king and his wife, the queen Esther.
Well, there's about four or five years in between from the time that some of the events happened. And now we find ourselves in chapter 6, the fact that Mordecai, this man who you might say cared for the nation of Israel, we find him right now, the king Ahasuerus wanted to honor him. This is the whole part of this sixth chapter. And so you notice what happened. You have three individuals here in this story specifically. Esther, she's planning now to tell the king that she's Jewish and that she wants the king to spare her own people. You have Haman, he already prepared the tree to destroy this Jewish man by the name of Mordecai.
He knows that later on the whole Jewish people are going to be destroyed anyway. And then you have King Achashverosh. who is supreme. He makes decisions. He is the one that can speak a word because the king of Persia, anything he said and he commanded could never be changed and altered. Well, what happened is on the very same night where Esther got home to prepare for the banquet, where Haman got home to tell his family about the preparation to come to visit the queen at this special banquet, and the king at the very same night beloved brothers and sisters look how chapter 6 began verses 1 to 3 the king has a sleepless night i don't know about you many times when we have troubles in our life and things that are rising up in our own life we have trouble sleeping and i don't know what you do when you cannot sleep some get up and make something to drink others open the bible and read others watch television or whatever you do when you cannot sleep at night well this man king could not sleep that night and you could see how God whose name is not even mentioned one time in the whole book of Esther yet the hand of God is being controlling the events God on that very same night is working in the heart of the king the sovereignty of God and the providence of God are seen here in this chapter.
So we read, notice verse 1. On that night, in Hebrew it says, on that very night, the king could not sleep. The Hebrew word, he couldn't sleep. His sleep got away from him. He tried to sleep, he couldn't. And the very same night, the king commanded to bring the book or the records of the Chronicles and they were read before the king. the king could not sleep. And so what does he do? He says, hey, could you bring the book? And you notice the book of the record of the chronicles. You know, in the Bible, we have first chronicles, second chronicles. These are not the chronicles that he was reading.
He was reading the chronicles, which is the stories of events that happened in the history of Persia. And that's why he asked his servants to bring the book that tells himself of the record of the events that happened throughout the history of Persia. And so we find out that they brought the book to him. And can you imagine the stories have been read there? It says, and they read before the king from the book of the Chronicles. They read to him everything that happened in the history of Persia and all the things that the events that occur in the history of Persia. But it is so interesting, beloved brothers and sisters, you can see how God is directing even the reading of the events that happened in the history about a man by the name of Mordechai.
It says, notice that in verse 2, they found in the book of the Chronicles the story that happened a few years earlier, some four or five years before, what Mordechai, the Jew, have done for the king. It says in verse 2, and it was found written that Mordecai had told of Biktana and Teresh, two of the king chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Achashverosh. And lo and behold, it seems to be, again, divine design, God in his providence, he's directing the reading, and he's leading king Achashverosh and those who read to him to read of the story that happened a few years ago.
About how Mordechai have told Esther and ultimately told the king that there were two wicked men in the midst there who are servants of the king who sought to slay King Achashverosh. And if you just go back to chapter 2 with me for a moment, verse 21 and verse 22, you notice what it says there. In those days while Mordechai sat in the king's gate, Two of the king's chamberlains, Bigtan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wrothed, they were angry. And they sought to lay hand on the king Hashverosh. And the thing was known to Mordechai, who told it unto Esther, the queen, and Esther certified the king thereof in Mordechai's name.
And when inquisition was made of the matter, it was found out, therefore, they were both hanged on a tree, and it was written in the book of the Chronicle before the king. But you notice, brothers and sisters, this event happened quite a few years earlier. And nothing was done for Mordecai. He did a good deed. He helped the king. He saved his life. But Mordecai didn't get a reward. He didn't get any benefit out of it. He was not promoted or anything at that time. And you know, brothers and sisters, listen, we learn a lesson here, that sometime in our lives, when we live here in this world, it's always good to do the right thing, to be a blessing to people around us, to be a help and an encouragement.
Even though we don't get reward immediately, it is recorded not only in the books of the Chronicle of the Persian, but it's recorded in the book of God. A book of remembrance was written before him. For them that feared the Lord and thought often upon his name, Malachi, chapter 3 and verse 16. We read it actually in our Bible study just recently. And how precious it is to see that even though Mordechai, the Jew, did not receive any benefit at the time that he saved the life of the king, God, in his time by divine design, leading, controlling over the events and a time like this, all of a sudden, he doesn't let the king to sleep.
He wakes him up in the middle of the night. He opened the book of the Chronicles of the history of Persia and he finds, he directs him to the very event that happened a few years earlier. That is the providence of God. God is in control. And we need to learn sometimes, you know, we want to take things into our hands. You know how we are either too lagged behind, we are too slow, or we are too fast. We want to control all the events of our life, and we don't realize that everything is in the hand of the Lord. And eventually, he's going to work all things according to his pleasure.
And here we find how he indeed now, by the inspiration, you might say, by divine design, the king is being led to read this story. By the way, we had, and I mentioned it many times in Proverbs chapter 21 and verse 1, the king's heart is in the hands of the Lord. And he directs like a stream of water. He directs it from one way to another. That's the way that God is working in our lives. So the king, of course, in verse 3, he asks a question. Notice that verse 3, the king said, honor and dignity has been done to Mordechai for this. Did he receive any reward?
He didn't. What honor did he receive? What dignity was given unto him? And notice what they said, the servants in verse 3b, those that serve him and minister to him, there was nothing done for him. You know, he was not rewarded. Now, Mordechai could have probably complained. He said, oh, I've helped, I've saved the king and I've done so much for him. And look, nobody cared and so on. And Mordecai was not this kind of a man. We never hear of him complaining about the fact that he didn't get the reward. You might say again, I love the thought that even though he should have been in Jerusalem, he should have been in the right place where God called our Jewish people to be, but he was not.
And yet you could see that he's, in a sense, waiting on the guidance that God would ultimately direct him and the Jewish people in faraway land, away from the promised land. So Mordecai, now his name was mentioned. What had been given to him? Nothing. Nothing had been given to him. So now, brothers and sisters, notice in the next verses, we see Haman's pride and the king's command began here with verse 4, with the early arrival of Haman to the very court of the palace of King Achashveroi. Look at this. It seemed to be a coincidence, but again, we know very well there is no coincidence. Here is the guidance of the Lord.
The very same time that the king is asking what had been done, What honor did Mordechai receive? At the very same time, Haman is coming to the king. And notice that it says in verse 4, the king asks immediately, who is in the court? Now, Haman, according to verse 4, he come into the outer court of the king's house to speak unto the king to hang Mordechai on a gallows which he had prepared for him. Notice that. The king could not sleep. And then God, in a supernatural way, have allowed him to open the book of the Chronicles of the Persians and to read about the events that happened a few years by a Jewish man by the name of Mordecai who saved his life.
In the very same time, this Haman Harashah, this evil Haman, he already prepared a gallow, a tree, for that Jewish man by the name of Mordecai And he's coming to the king to ask him to hang this man upon the gallow. Now you and I might say, wow, what a coincidence. It's happened by chance. No, it's not, beloved brothers and sisters. There is no such a thing by chance. Everything that happened to us in our life, there is a reason for that. Every challenge, every difficult thing, every easy thing, every problem, every benefit, All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.
There is a purpose in the life of God's people. There is a purpose in the life of the Jewish people. There is a purpose in the life of the believers in Yeshua HaMashiach. There is a purpose that God has for you and I. And so Haman is coming to ask the king to hang Mordechai. And yet the king is asking, what had been done to the man by the name of Mordecai who saved my life? In other words, look at this, there's a real dilemma here. The king want to lift up Mordecai who saved his life. Haman want to destroy this very same man by the name of Mordecai ha-Yehudi.
Notice in that very same verse 4, the king said, who is in the court? And then a man was there, and a man really wanted to speak to the king to hang Mordechai on the gallows. The Hebrew word for gallows, it simply means an etz, a tree, a high tree, 75 feet high, the tree that he prepared for the destruction of Mordechai, the Jewish man.
Well, we can see now, brothers and sisters, how the sovereignty and the providence of God, because as Haman approaches the king, the mind of the king right now is not about Haman's desires, but it is to reward the man that just a few years ago saved his life so in verse 5 the king's servant said to him he said behold Haman is standing in a court and the king said let him in notice by the way that Haman had some sort of permission to come closer to the king that none else could even come even the queen Esther herself said I cannot approach the king there is a sure death if I'm coming to stand
before him unless he bring forward the scepter and allow me to touch it and accept me but there is not a possibility for anyone to approach the king and so we read that Haman had this privilege he could come to the outer court and then the servant said unto the king oh Haman is here he's standing there outside in the court and so the king said let him come in so he's drawing now Haman to come to listen to him and you want to tell him something remember that and now notice that the very beautiful verse in verse 6 we find out that so Haman came in and the king said unto him Haman what
shall be done unto a man whom the king delights to honor you know finally he realized that Mordechai did not received the honor that he deserved after he saved his life so he's asking his counselor second next to him this man by the name of Haman.
Haman he said you tell me I want to honor someone what shall be done unto the man whom the king delights to honor. When I think about that verse I often think about our blessed Lord Yeshua Jesus the Messiah. You know if there's anyone that God would love to honor is his beloved son. He loved to honor his son, Yeshua the Messiah. You remember he said to him in Psalm 110, sit down at my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool. The Lord Yeshua the Messiah gave so much glory to God the Father that from heaven at his baptism he said, this is my beloved Son, in whom I'm well pleased.
I found all my delight. At the mountain of transfiguration, Matthew chapter 17, we find out God is saying, this is my beloved Son. Hear Him. That's the one that I delight to honor. We read in Philippians chapter 2, because Yeshua humbled himself, therefore God had highly exalted him, and giving him a name which is above every name that at the name of Yeshua every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus the Messiah that Yeshua HaMashiach is Lord to the glory of God the Father. You can see the picture here beloved brothers and sisters the king the light to honor the man and the man from Nazareth from Nazareth who was born in Bethlehem and lived in Nazareth and died in Jerusalem is the man whom God delight to honor.
And so we find out that a question may arise. What shall be done unto the man whom the king delight to honor? But you see immediately on the other side, beloved brothers and sisters, the pride that existed in Haman Harasha, this evil Haman. Haman is a representation of the old sinful nature he's the one who you might say he's following the Satan Satan and his ways and notice what he says in verse 6 it's very interesting because in verse 6 Haman is now fought in his heart see he doesn't say it publicly he's in his heart you know Jeremiah Yirmiah the prophet of Israel said the heart of man is desperately wicked who can know it In Hebrew the word Jacob means supplantile.
The human heart, our own heart is so deceitful. And Haman, he doesn't say it publicly at this point of time because he's before the king. So the king, he want to kind of sway him like he's already tricked him before to kill all the Jewish people. He's already claimed to promise him all the money that he had in order to help him to destroy the Jewish people. Now he says in his heart, to whom would the king delight to do honor more than to myself? Remember last week in our ministry meeting? It is me. It is mine. It's what belonged to me, what I have done.
You remember when he showed to his own family, he said, look at the thing that happened to him. My riches and my children and my promotion. He showed this to all the neighbors. You remember what the Bible teaches out of the abundance of the heart. The mouth speaks. And so his heart, he said, well, who would the king want? The king want to honor someone? Who could it be? Unless me. It couldn't be anybody else. It's only me. It's myself. Now, brothers and sisters, listen, this is the reality of the human heart. We have to remember that. It's us. It's me, all of us. Each one of us can say, oh, Lord, you know my own heart, how deceitful I am.
Listen, how the book of Proverbs, turn to Proverbs chapter 16 with me, please. It's the king of Israel, Shlomo, Solomon, who said in Proverbs chapter 16 and verse 18, Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Look at Proverbs chapter 18 and verse 12. Before destruction, the heart of man is haughty. And before honor, this is the opposite, there is humility. Go to chapter 29 of the book of Proverbs and verse 23. A man's pride shall bring him low, but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit. You see, beloved brothers and sisters, throughout the scripture, we find out that pride comes before destruction. And here it was this man by the name of Haman who prided himself and said, who is the one that the king delighted to honor more than me, than myself?
It could only be me. It could never be anybody else. It is only me. It was Jacob, Jacob, the servant of the Lord, who wrote in James chapter 4 and verse 6b, God resists the proud, but he gives grace unto the humble. Peter later on said, humble yourself under the mighty hand of God and he will lift you up. You see, brothers and sisters, in Haman, we see the satanic influence. We see the sinful nature that exists in humanity. And that's why it was so necessary for the Messiah, for the Mashiach to come and give his life as a ransom for many. because we, by nature, unless the Lord will deal with us and judge our sins in the person of his son, the Messiah, none of us will ever be able to stand before him.
So Haman in his pride said, to whom would the king delight to do honor more than to myself? It's me. I deserve to get this honor. So now, notice brothers and sisters, in these next verses, 7 and 8 and 9, Haman give an answer to the king. See, he has a plan. Haman doesn't only want to kill the Jewish people. He really want to take the place of the king. He want to dethrone the king, if he could, and take the place of the king. So notice what he does. He doesn't tell it to the king, but in his own heart, deceitful heart, that is his plan. And so we find out in verses 7, 8, and 9, and Haman answered the king, for the man whom the king delights to honor, let the royal appell be brought which the king uses to wear, and let the horse that the king sits upon, and the crown royal which is set upon the king's head, and let the a pearl and a horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king's most noble princes, that they may array the men withal whom the king delights to honor, and bring him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim before him, Thus shall it be done unto the men whom the king delights to honor.
very, very nice advice, he says. In other words, you see? He says, king, listen, you really want to honor someone? It's in my heart, but let me tell you what you're going to do to him. You know what? Let the king give your very own clothes that you wear as the king of Persia. King, not only this, you will put this man that the king delights as the owner on the very horse that the king of Persia is sitting. And even more, king, let's put upon him the crown that you wear. Now, if somebody's going to come to you with this kind of counsel and say, listen, you want to honor somebody?
Give him your clothes, give him your crown, give him your everything, you know, and you just stay aside. Just let him be the one that everybody's looking at. And notice verse 9, he said, not only so, give the apparel, Give all things to one of the princes and then let him go all along the street of Shushan the capital and let him proclaim. Thus it shall be done unto the men whom the king delights to honor. I mean, if there is not here a usurping of the place that belonged to the king, you cannot find it anywhere else except one place specifically. If you turn with me to Isaiah, please, The prophet Isaiah chapter 14.
Look at this. In Isaiah chapter 14 we see Hillel ben Shachar. This is Lucifer, the son of the morning. Satan himself who did the very same thing. Who wanted to dethrone God and take the place of God as the God of the whole universe. We read, notice that, and I'm reading now in Isaiah chapter 14. I read from verse 12. How art thou fallen from heaven, old Lucifer, son of the morning? How art thou cut down to the ground which did waken the nations? For thou hast said in thine heart, notice, just like the heart of Haman in his heart, Lucifer, Hillel ben Shachar, said in his heart, I will ascend into heaven.
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God. I will sit upon the mount of the congregation and in the sides of the north. I will ascend above the highest of the cloud. I will be like the Most High. You see, Haman is really, you might say, a messenger of Satan. He does the very same thing what Satan did long before. So Haman is just really following, like many in this world, following Satan and his ways. Rejecting God, rejecting the place that God had given to him, rejecting all what God is offering to him, and in fact not only want to oppose God, but also dethrone God and take the place of God.
This is so deceitful. This is, brothers and sisters, why do you think there are the conflicts that are existing today in the world in which we live in? We live in this world with all the problems that exist here in this world. The conflict between the living God, the creator of the heavens and the earth, and Satan, Lucifer, Hillel ben Shachar, who is leading astray humanity. He became, according to scripture, the prince of the power of the air. He is called in 2 Corinthians chapter 4, the God of this world, small g. That blinded the mind of them that believe not less the glorious gospel of our Lord Yeshua, the Messiah, should shine unto them.
That's what we find out here. There is a conflict that's existing. God has a plan to send the Messiah through the Jewish people in order that the Messiah will become the sacrifice, the one that will forgive sin for mankind. And yet Lucifer, Hillel ben Shachar, his plan is not to allow the Messiah to come to this world. Not to take the place as a sacrifice for humanity. This is exactly what Satan is seeking to do. There is a battle. There is a battle of the gods. The living God and the false gods of this world. Headed up by Satan himself. And so in pride, Haman is saying to the king, you know what I suggest to you king take the garments that you wear as a king take your horses you ride upon and take your crown give it to the man whom the king delights to honor namely Mihaman and then let him be parade around the city of Shushan the capital city of Persia and let it be declared to all the people of Persia.
Thus it shall be done unto the men whom the king delights to honor. You see, brothers and sisters, in a future day, when our blessed Lord Yeshua is going to come and take his rightful place here in this world, every knee will bow. Every tongue will confess that Yeshua HaMashiach is Lord to the glory of God the Father. He will receive that which the king, namely God, the true and living king, desired to give him. He desired to give him a place as a ruler, as a king of kings, as Lord of lords. He will be the one that ultimately will receive that which belongs to him.
Not Satan and Satan's followers, nor any, not the Antichrist, the counterfeit Messiah, but the true Mashiach, Israel's Messiah and the Savior of the world. He is the one whom the king desires to honor. And so, in the next verses, beloved brothers and sisters, verses 10 and 11, notice that honor is now going to be given to the right man here. Not to Haman, the evil one, the hater of the Jews, but to Mordechai the Jew, who was really the one who helped the king, save his life and so you notice that now it must have been a great shock to Haman can you imagine when you think of yourself so much and you say boy I'm the one that the king must want to honor me and now the king is going to tell him wait a minute Haman you see notice that verse 10 he says and the king said to Haman make haste take the pearl and the horse as thou had said Haman and do even so to Mordechai the Jew.
Now, can you imagine, beloved brothers and sisters, it must have been like a knife came into his heart. He was preparing the trees, done. He's on a way to tell to the king, let's hang Mordechai, he's no good for you, let's hang him. And how the tables turn over. You see, again, brothers and sisters, it is so important, if there's any lesson we learn from that, It's so important for us to ask the Lord to help us not to be proud because pride comes before a fall. It is so important for us not to exalt ourselves and to think much of ourselves because the Lord will teach us a great lesson that there is no need to pride yourself if the Lord knows our hearts, knows our weakness, knows our sinfulness, and He is able to deal with His own people and to deal with mankind.
And so the king now told Haman, notice it's the first time in this chapter when even the king now called him Mordechai the Jew. Mordechai Hayehudi. Notice that the king said to Haman, make haste, don't delay. Make haste. Take the garments. Take the horse and go quickly and do it. No, no, no, no, not to you, Haman. But to Mordechai Hayehudi. To Mordechai. Now notice, by the way, I made a note out of it, that by now, many times we see that he got very bad advice. But here you can see that he's starting to discern who Haman really is. Because Haman told him, take the royal appell, take the royal horse, and take the royal crown.
But the king does not give the royal crown. He only tells him, take the royal apparel and take the horse, but you don't rid of him giving the crown. See, why? Because he knows very well, wait a minute, this Haman that gave me all this advice all along, I mean, the guy want to take my throne. He want to become king, he want to dethrone me. So the king started to see, he says, listen, I might be foolish, but I'm not that foolish. You see what I mean? He's starting to discern, wait a minute, something not kasher, not kosher, with this man by the name of Haman.
So he says, okay, Haman, you take the apparel, you take the horse, and you go do this very thing to Mordecai, the Jew, that sit us at the king's gate, let nothing fail from all that you have spoken. Here you can see how the tables turn over. The lesson from these beloved brothers for us all is that We need to learn that, listen, we are not always can carry on and do wrong things. You know, payday come one day. In other words, we cannot just carry on and be proud and carry on in our own way and reject God's ways and God's will. God is really saying, listen, I'm going to correct it one day.
You will see that I will allow in your life some things to happen in order to fix things up for you. And you know, sometimes the Lord allows us in our own life to experience disappointments. Sometimes the Lord allows us to humble us because He knows very well that we were priding ourselves. We thought, I'm the captain of my ship, I'm the pilot of my plane, I can do my own thing. You remember the song, I did it my way? And the Lord is going to say, no, no, no, no, no. You will have to learn that my way, God's way, is the better way.
And so Haman with all the exultation, he was promoted and he had all this. And now there's a final time when he would think that the king delighted to honor him. All of a sudden he found out it's not you Haman, it is Mordechai the Jew. And you can see the hand of God, the sovereign hand of God, the providence of God. You go, make haste, do this unto Mordechai the Jew. Don't let nothing fall out of all that you have said. This is in verse 10. And so now, in verse 11, you see the humility of Haman. Notice three things Haman does. Then took Haman the appell and the horse.
And number one, he arrays Mordechai. He clothes him. Number two, he brought him and set him on the king's horse. And number three, notice that, he pulled him throughout the city of Shushan, Shushan Habira, and he proclaimed loudly for everyone to hear, thus shall it be done unto the men whom the king delights to honor. If you and I would have been there more than a few thousand years ago, it's about 500 BC, 2,500 years ago, we will see this wicked man of Haman who wanted to destroy the Jewish people. Now he ends up pulling the horse, upon which sits Mordecai, a Yehudi, with dressing with the royal garment, malchut, levush ha-malchut.
And he says, thus it shall be done unto the man whom the king delights to honor. In Hebrew, kacha yaaseh la'ish hasher ha-melech chafetz b'ikaro. Again, I would love you to see, beloved brothers and sisters, The typology, there is a wonderful picture. Mordechai is a picture of our Mashiach Yeshua, who was rejected and despised. And yet God want to honor him. And though the world rejects him today, and though our own people don't see that he is the Messiah today, but one day will come, and everyone will have to acknowledge that Yeshua is Lord to the glory of God the Father. God will display him in this universe.
The whole world will have to recognize that he is Lord of Lords. He is King of Kings. He is Melech Hamlachim. He is the promise Redeemer. The promise Mashiach that God had promised our forefathers for many, many generations. Thus it shall be done unto the men. And the word the men, ha-ish. It's interesting. This is the man that is oftentimes being rejected by the world today. That will be the man that God will set here as the King of kings and Lord of lords. Beautiful to see this, beloved brothers and sisters. You know, I have to just read, if you don't mind, the verses in Acts chapter 17.
And notice what we read there about Yeshua the Messiah. verse 30 and 31, it says there, the apostle Paul, Shaul Paul said, and the time of this ignorant, God winked it. But now he commandes all men everywhere to repent. And then verse 31, why Shaul Paul? Why does God command all men everywhere to repent? And here is the answer. Verse 31, because he has appointed a day in the which he will judge the world in righteousness, listen to this, by that man whom he has ordained, whereof he has given assurance unto all men that he has raised him from the dead. You see, God had promised that one day he's going to judge this world by the man of his counsel.
The man is Yeshua HaMashiach. And he's commanding everyone everywhere to repent because there is a day coming where God is going to judge this world by that very man, namely Yeshua HaMashiach, whom he had ordained. And so in Mordechai, a Yehudi, we see unexpectedly, unplanned, but by divine design, Haman is saying, Thus it shall be done unto the men whom the king delight to honor. And can you imagine Mordecai sit on a horse? And Haman, who just look a little bit further, you'll see the high gallow, the high tree that he prepared for Mordecai. It seems to be a dilemma here. And here he's pulling down, he's walking around, and he's saying, Thus it shall be done unto the men whom the king delight to honor.
Everyone observing. Wait a minute. This is Mordechai, a Yehudi, the man that did not want to bow to Haman HaRashah, to this evil man. And now look what Haman is doing. He's pulling here, he's dressed in the king's clothes, he's sitting on the king's horse, and the declaration by the very man who want to kill him. Oh, brothers and sisters, if that does not speak to our hearts about the future day, when Yeshua, the Messiah, will be the one who's going to rule and reign, every knee will bow to him if there is any glimpse of appreciation you can see it in typology here in these verses now let's conclude in verses 12 13 and 14 notice that in verse 12 Mordechai now notice the complete elevation of Mordechai was now deferred because after that Mordechai went back to notice that verse 12 came again to the king's gate but Haman hasted to his house he was mourning and he had his head covered can you imagine he was so ashamed he covered his head that nobody will perhaps see him the word here for mourning come from the Hebrew word it's like death has happened that's what we find out here in this word and what's happened notice verse 13 he goes home quickly and then it says and Haman Now listen to this, brothers and sisters.
This time they gave him a truth that it seems to be that this is a revelation from the Lord. Remember earlier in the previous chapter they said to him, let's make a gallow, let's make a high tree so you can hang Mordechai, the Jew. But this time look what they said to him. In verse 13b, if Mordechai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him. Now you and I might ask immediately, where did Zeresh got this information? Where all these wise men of the Persian who were counseling Haman, from where did they receive such information as this?
The seed of the Jews, in Hebrew it's called Zerah Hayehudim. If he is Jewish, if he is coming from the seed of the Jewish people before whom you began to fall, be sure, Haman, that you will surely fall before him. Well, beloved brothers and sisters, this is again, I would like to just present this before you. The issue here, the descendants of those who follow Satan and the descendants of those whom God had called to be his people. You see, the seed of the Jews began, of course, already in Genesis chapter 3 and verse 15 when Adam and Eve, Adam and Chava, fell into sin. And God made a promise when Satan was there to cause that fall to be brought into fruition.
Notice in Genesis chapter 3 and verse 15, the promise of the seed of the woman. He says, I will put an enmity between thee, namely Satan, and the woman. And between thy seed, Satan's seed, and the woman's seed. It shall bruise your head and thou shall bruise his heel. god made a promise already when sin came into this world here is what's going to happen the seed of the woman is none else but the mashiach himself and if the messiah is going to come to this world god have chosen that he will come to this world through the jewish people the descendants of abraham isaac and jacob and so throughout the whole history of humanity for 6 000 years about right now god in his plan he's brought about the birth of the messiah the seed of the woman the bible always teaches us that it is the seed of men that bring a child into this world but that child that come into this world of the seed of the man he's a sinner but he is a seed of the woman And Zerah, Haishah, has no man involved.
Miriam was impregnated by Ruach HaKodesh, the Holy Spirit of God. And when Yeshua was born into this world, he was born sinless, undefiled, separate from sinners, which made him qualified to be the Messiah, the Savior, the Redeemer of humanity. And so he was to be born through the Jewish people. And he's going to be reigning ultimately over the Jewish people and through the Jewish people blessing going to come to the nations of the world in the coming days even Yeshua said in John chapter 4 salvation is of the Jews not because the Jewish people are the ones who are better than the non-Jewish people but no, God has chosen that through the chosen people the Messiah will come and blessing will flow into all the nations of the world and so beloved brothers and sisters look what Zeresh his wife saying to Haman if Mordechai be of the seed of the Jews Mizera ha-Yehudim before whom thou hast begun to fall thou shalt not prevail Haman against him but thou shalt surely fall before him and beloved brothers and sisters from Genesis 3 all the way to the end of the book of the Revelation even at the end you see the battle that always happened between Satan and Satan's people and God and God's people constant friction and the climax will come in the coming day when God is going to send the Messiah Yeshua to take his rightful place over this world and to restore his people Israel.
Turn to Revelation chapter 12 just to close this thought from the beginning of human history to the end you might say of the time in which we live in God has a plan to bring about the restoration of the Jews and the Messiah who is the king of the Jews will rule and reign over this world notice what it says in Revelation chapter 12 and verse 7 and there was a war in heaven Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and the dragon fought and his angels and he prevailed not neither was their place found anymore in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent called the devil and Satan, which deceives the whole world.
He was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice in heaven, now is come salvation and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Messiah, for the accuser of the brethren was cast down, which accuses them before our God day and night. The brethren here in context are the Jewish people. Verse 11, and they overcome him, future regeneration of the nation of Israel, by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto death.
Therefore rejoice, ye heaven, and ye that dwell in them, woe to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea for the devil is come down unto you having great wrath because he knows that he has but a short time during the middle of the tribulation when satan going to be cast down he will persecute the people of israel that's what we call sarat yaakov jacob's trouble the book of jeremiah teaches us this there will be such a great persecution of the Jewish people by Satan himself who was cast down to earth he knows that he had but a short time soon it's going to end he knows that if the Jewish people say to
Yeshua Baruch haba b'shem Adonai blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord this is the end of Satan and so we read listen to this it says here in the next verse and when the dragon saw this is verse 13 that he was cast to earth he persecuted the woman the woman is here representing the nation of Israel which brought forth the man child the Messiah came through the woman namely the people of Israel and to the woman was given two wings of a great eagle that she might fly into the wilderness and to a place where she will be nourished for a time and times and half a time from the
face of the serpent God will preserve the remnant of our nation Israel in the middle of the tribulation and he will send them to be protected by area that some believe Bozra or Petra area for three and a half years.
I just want to conclude this, beloved brothers and sisters. Chapter 19 and verse 11, we read, listen to this. And I saw heaven open, and behold, a white horse, and he that sat upon him was called faithful and true. And in righteousness he doth judge and make war. And his eyes were the flame of fire, And on his head were many crowns, and he had a name written that no man knew but he himself. And he was clothed with vesture of deep blood, and his name is called the Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nation. and he shall rule them with a rod of iron and he treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of almighty God and he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written King of Kings and Lord of Lords Melech HaMelachim and Adon HaAdonim and we close with chapter 20 in verse 1 and I saw the angel that came down from heaven having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand and he laid hold listen to this he laid hold on the dragon the old serpent which is the devil and Satan and he bound him for a thousand years that's the end of Satan of course after he will be loose for a short time it says the next verses And finally, in the end of the book of Revelation chapter 20, Satan ultimately will be destroyed and will be cast into the lake of fire when he is going to stay there forever and ever.
Now, you and I might say, what is it connected with Esther chapter 6? Well, it's the same old story. The animosity of the descendant of Satan, again the descendant of Yeshua the Messiah. those who want to oppose God and those who want to follow God and ultimately beloved brothers and sisters as we find here what shall be done unto the man whom the king delights to honor at the end God will honor his son Yeshua HaMashiach just the same as he honored Mordechai HaYehudi using this evil man by the name of Haman to array and to walk through the streets of the capital city of Persia.
Well, may the Lord help us to understand those things and be focused on the person of Yeshua, our Messiah.
