Shalom. We thank the Lord for the privilege that we have today to study once again the first epistle, the first letter that Shaul Paul wrote to Timothy. And I would like you please to turn in your Bibles to 1st Timothy chapter 6, and today we are going to study the last verses of this letter, of this epistle, from verse 11 to verse 21 of the 6th chapter of 1st Timothy. And I'm reading verse 11, But thou, O man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession, that thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, which in his time he shall show who is the blessed and only potentate, the Kings of Kings and Lord of lords, who only hath immortality dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto, whom no man has seen nor can see, to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen. Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy, that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate, laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come that they may lay hold on eternal life.

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babbling, and oppositions of science falsely so-called, which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen. Well, dear beloved brothers and sisters, what a privilege to come to the final portion that Paul, Shaul, wrote to this younger brother by the name of Timothy. Beautiful to realize as we began here in these last verses that the heart of Paul was so burdened with the needs of the people of God, so much concern for Timothy and the brothers and sisters in the city of Ephesus. He had such a concern for them that he took the time to write this personal letter to Brother Timothy, and in this letter, though it was personal, he gave instructions that are very beneficial for you and I today.

And God, by divine design, took this letter and placed this letter in the canon of Scripture. And we enjoy today to learn from it and we trust the Lord that the Lord will use it for our blessing and our spiritual growth. Now I want you to notice that in these final thoughts from the Apostle Paul we want to see that Apostle Paul first of all appealed to Timothy to be different than others. Notice he began in verse 11 by calling him Men O God. In Hebrew we call it Ish Ha Elohim. Here we see that the Apostle Paul really had placed Timothy among many, many other forefathers, the Hebrews, who were already called Men of God.

Many times in biblical history, Some of our forefathers were called men of God, Ish, Elohim. The first man that was called Ish Elohim was Moshe, Moses. In Deuteronomy 33 and verse 1, he's also Samuel, Shmuel. He also was called the man of God in 1 Samuel chapter 9 and verse 6. Also Eliyahu, Elijah. He also was called the man of God in 1 King chapter 17 and verse 18. Elisha, Elisha, was also called a man of God in 2 Kings chapter 4 and verse 25. And of course, also King David was called a man of God in Nehemiah chapter 12 and verse 24. And so really we see here that Shaul Paul had placed Timothy into this list of individuals who were called men of God.

Ish ha-Elohim. What a privilege it is to be called a man of God. Well, you see, beloved brothers and sisters, if you will turn to the Tanakh, to the Old Testament, apparently there were about 12 individuals who were called men of God, Ish Elohim, and these men were called men of God because they followed the God of Israel. They followed after His instructions, and they sought to live for Him. They were not perfect. They had failure. They had sins at times in their lives. They needed to repent, to turn away from this, and to follow the God of Israel. But nevertheless, they were called men of God.

In fact, David, Hamelech, King David was called a man after God's own heart. He was a man who loved the God of Israel and sought to please him. In fact, even our forefathers Jacob Yaakov whose name was changed from Yaakov to yisrael his name yisrael a prince for God the prince of God sar el simply mean one that is to represent God before the nations of this world that's why our Jewish people as a nation were called to represent God to be a prince for God here in this world well unfortunately our nation Israel fail in this and so God have called the ecclesia the church the assembly to be those who will be representing the Lord God here in this world well unfortunately the church also had failed in this and so beloved brothers and sisters we are now called individually to become men and women of God, those that will live for the Lord and seek to please Him here in this world.

If you remember, there is a verse that is found in the book of Revelation in chapter 3, where we read a letter that the Lord wrote to the church of the Laodiceans. And you remember what he said in Revelation 3 verse 20? He says behold I stand at the door and knock if any man hear my voice and open the door I will come into him or to her and I will sup with him and he with me well God is calling every one of us to become men and women of God and may the Lord help us in this as we know we need as much grace and help to live for the Lord here in this world well the Lord through Paul called Timothy o man of God o ish ha Elohim and so we can see that Paul gave warning to Timothy to take heed again and again exhorted him to take heed.

For example, in 1 Timothy chapter 4 and verse 16, the apostle Paul said to Timothy, take heed unto thyself and unto the doctrine, continue in them, for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself and them that hear thee. Paul gave this encouragement to Timothy to take heed, to watch, to be careful. And we need that, beloved brothers and sisters, also because. The enemy attacks the people of God. Satan is opposing God's people. The world seeks to influence God's people. Our flesh is so deceitful and sinful that is seeking to discourage and turn away God's people from the ways of the Lord. And so here the Apostle Paul gives Timothy those four charges as he closed this first letter to younger Timothy.

I want you to notice those four charges. First of in verse 11 he used the word flee secondly in verse 11b he used the word follow thirdly in verse 12 he used the word fight and fourthly in verse 20 he used the word keep or guard four charges that Shaul Paul gave Timothy in order for him to maintain this status being called ish Elohim men of God and so let's look over those verses together in our ministry first of all you notice beloved brothers and sisters that in verse 11a Paul telling Timothy flee these things you notice that and i'm reading first Timothy chapter 6 and verse 11 but thou o men of God flee these things well immediately we ask ourselves the.

Question what things Timothy was to flee from well remember that throughout this letter Shaul Paul gave Timothy those warnings to be careful because already there at the church of Ephesus things began to creep in you remember many of these Ephesians who became believers in Yeshua Jesus the Messiah before they have trusted in him they were worshiping Diana they were perhaps some of those who says great is the Diana of the Ephesians this goddess which they worship now they have turned their hearts to the Lord Jesus the Messiah they became believers in the Lord they became part of the body of Messiah part of the assembly in the city of Ephesus and so here as they accepted the Lord that became part of the local assembly there well things began to creep in the enemy began to attack the people of God it happens then and it happens today and so we read for example in first Timothy chapter one Paul said to him and I'm reading this again as I besought.

Thee to abide still at Ephesus when I went to Macedonia that thou might charge some that they teach no other doctrine neither give he to fable and endless genealogies which minister questions rather than godly edifying which is in faith so do Timothy there will be some Shaul Paul telling to Timothy they will creep in and they will begin to teach and to entangle themselves and others with fable and endless genealogies well a little bit later on we did also read in chapter 4 where Paul said to Timothy verse 1 now the spirit speakers expressly that in the latter time some notice again the word some shall depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrine of demons speaking lies and hypocrisy having their conscience seared with a hot iron and so on he give us a list of the things that some will be teaching and you see things began to creep in to the local assembly at Ephesus well this is exactly what the apostle.

Paul warns Timothy with regard to these things so that's why he said in chapter 6 at verse 11 all men of God flee these things notice what we read in the previous verses of first Timothy chapter 6 in verse 3 it says if any man teach otherwise and consent not to wholesome words even the words of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah and to the teaching which is according to godliness He's proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strife of words, whereof cometh envy and strife and railing and evil, surmisings, perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness, from such withdraw thyself.

And you see, beloved brothers and sisters, Timothy was called to flee these things. And you and I also are called to flee certain things because we are no match for those certain things because the enemy is able to sway us if we are not close to the Lord. For example, in 1 Corinthians 6, verse 18, the Apostle Paul said to the Corinthians, flee fornication. In 1 Corinthians chapter 10 and verse 14, he said to the Corinthians, flee idolatry. And we can see this in 2 Timothy chapter 2 and verse 22. The Apostle Paul said to Timothy later on, flee youthful lusts. And so we too need the help of the Lord to have to be wise and to take godly steps a time when we are not careful we fall into sin when we trust ourself and do not lean on the Lord and take the Lord's encouragement you remember Joseph fled in Genesis 39 and verse 12 when he sought to be by the wife of Potiphar in first Samuel chapter 19 and verse 10 David fled when King Saul sought to kill him there is a time in which the believer need to flee in order to be preserved from that which is dishonoring to the Lord.

Of course, when it's come to Satan, to the devil, we read in the book of James in chapter 4 that we are not from the devil, we are not to flee, but we are to resist the devil and he will flee from us. You notice we read that in James chapter 4 in verse 7, it says submit yourself therefore to God resist the devil and he will flee from you so here is Timothy exalted number one to flee these things first Timothy 6 and verse 11 now notice in the very same verse in verse 11b he asked him now to follow after and you notice how beautiful follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

In Hebrew, beautiful things that we, and Timothy was exhorted by Shaul Paul, to follow after. Lirdof in Hebrew, to run after. If we are to flee from those things which Paul listed in the whole first epistle to Timothy, he also now listing for Timothy things that he is to follow after. And that's beautiful, dear beloved brothers and sisters. We also need much grace from the Lord to follow after certain things that will help us in our spiritual life. You notice that to follow after righteousness and godliness faith love patience meekness these are some of the characteristics that has to characterize the believer in Yeshua the Messiah of course we are already positionally have been declared righteous but practically we are not always living a righteous life and therefore the apostle Paul is telling Timothy to follow after those things it's so beautiful to see righteousness the Hebrew word it's to do the right things godliness in Hebrew to be a godly man a godly woman of God then faith you know faith emunah trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding as Solomon said in all thy ways acknowledge him and he will direct thy path this is not a faith unto salvation because Timothy was already a believer he trusted in Yeshua ha-Mashiach but it's the faith the day by day faith without faith it is impossible to please God for he that comes to him must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him what.

About love that words in the Greek agapeo agapeo it is a divine love it's an unconditional love and this is amazing isn't it we all need the Lord's help to live a life of loving God's people even loving our enemies unconditionally in other words not to be only loving someone because he or she have responded and have done something for us but to love unconditionally like in some small measure like our blessed Lord Yeshua who loved us and gave himself for us notice the fifth point that Timothy is to follow after is patience well don't you and I can say how we need patience in our lives to wait on the Lord they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength it's amazing It's a virtue that one can only have as we trust in the Lord and wait on Him.

Patience, the Lord does not give it to us just like this. Tribulation works as patience. Through trials, we learn to be a little bit more patient. And finally, the word meekness, to seek to be in some small way like our Lord Yeshua, the Messiah, and also like Moshe Rabbeinu Moses the lawgiver of our own nation Israel who was the meekest man on earth according to the word of God you remember what Yeshua said in Matthew chapter 11 take my yoke and learn of me verse 29 for I am meek and lowly in heart and ye shall find rest to your souls so Paul is exhorting he's charging Timothy flee these things follow after righteousness godliness faith love patience and meekness in order for Timothy to show evidence in his life that he is a man of God that he is ish ha Elohim he needed to flee and he needed to follow but you notice dear brothers and sisters that immediately after this in verses 12 to 16 Paul gave Timothy a third instruction and the word there is the word fight the Hebrew word is hilachem it comes from the word milchama to fight it's like a warfare and from the time that we have entered into the.

Body of Messiah dear beloved brothers and sisters we have entered into what we would call a war zone why because the moment we became believers in Yeshua we have entered into a war zone where enemies attacking the people of God as i mentioned before we as believers every believer have three enemies enemy number one really should be our own flesh our own nature enemy number two it will be the world around us and enemy number three is none else but Satan has Satan the devil himself well you remember what the apostle Paul elsewhere says to the believers in the letter to the Ephesians he said to them in verse 11 put on Ephesians 6 11 the whole army of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil and then he said for we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities against powers against the rulers of the darkness of this world against spiritual wickedness in high places therefore take unto you the whole armor of.

God that he may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all to stand and you see to Timothy he is now saying in first Timothy chapter 6 and verse 12 Timothy fight the good fight of faith and then he's giving him some instructions from verses 12 to verse 16 you In other words, he called it the fight of faith. We can almost say it's the fight of the faith. According to Jude, verse 3, the faith which was once and for all given unto the saints, to stand for the truth that God had given his people in this present day dispensation. The Apostle Paul said in Romans chapter 1 and verse 16, he said, I am not ashamed of the gospel of the Messiah for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believe to the Jew first and also unto the Gentile and you see this is the faith that's why Paul was not ashamed of it because he knew that the only way of salvation is through Yeshua Jesus the Messiah and that's why Jude was saying to those early Hebrew believers hold on for the faith which was once and for all was delivered unto the saints.

This faith, as it says, endeavor, as it says, I'm reading, for I rejoice. I'm reading now Jude verse 3. Let me just read that verse. Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you and to exhort you that you should earnestly contend almost like fight for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Jude and verse 3 3 and so Paul does the same thing here when he tells Timothy to fight this good faith the good fight of faith now notice what he tells him he says lay hold of eternal life where unto thou art also called eternal life we have to look at this in two ways one way yes it is eternal it is long long long long life eternal in the second verse of Psalm 90 Moses said to God from eternity to eternity thou art God.

Me'olam ve'at olam atah Elohim hu. Well, eternal life, it's long, but it's more than just length of life. Eternal life has to do with the quality of life. You remember what we read in the prayer of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah in John chapter 17, just before he have gone to the tree. He said in prayer and this is eternal life John 17 verse 3 that they might know thee the only true God and Yeshua the Messiah whom thou had sent in other words to lay hold of our relationship with the person of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah eternal life what is eternal life is not only length of life is our relationship is to know God to know him intimately and his son Yeshua the Messiah this is eternal life and so Timothy was exhorted by Paul in verse 12 to lay hold of eternal life because he was called for that and not as he had professed a good profession before many witnesses apparently Timothy have already witnessed to many around him to the fact that he belonged to Yeshua the Messiah to Jesus the Messiah and that he proclaimed the message of the word of God to many notice it said you professed before many who witnessed this fact that you are following Yeshua the Messiah in verse 13 Paul said to Timothy i give thee charge in the sight of God.

Who quickens all things and before Yeshua the Messiah who before pointeous pilot witness a good confession you see now beloved brothers and sisters Paul charging Timothy in the sight of God notice that and before Yeshua the Messiah notice that God knows that charge that Timothy received Jesus the Messiah also is knowing the charge that was given to Timothy and Paul emphasizing that when he write to Timothy and who is the one God the one who quickens all things it is God who gives life he is the God of the resurrection and the life and notice before Jesus the Messiah Yeshua HaMashiach this is the name of our Lord in his humanity Yeshua you shall call his name Yeshua he is the Mashiach the Messiah the Christos the Christ the Mashiach and he the Messiah himself was such an example to Timothy to Paul and to you and i as we read in verse 13 whom he himself before pontius pilot he witnessed a good confession what did the Lord Jesus the.

Messiah confess before pilot well we read this in John chapter 18 and verse 33 and on pilot he entered into the judgment hall again and he called Yeshua and he said unto him are thou the king of the Jews ha'im ata melech ha'yehudim Yeshua answered in verse 34 and he said unto him thou sayest these things of thyself or did others tell it of me pilot answered and said am i a Jew thine own nation and the chief priest have delivered thee unto me what has thou done Yeshua answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight that I should not be delivered to the Jews.

But now is my kingdom not from hence. Pilate therefore said to him, Are thou the king then? Yeshua answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was i born and for this cause came i into the world that i should bear witness unto the truth every one that is of the truth heareth my voice Pilate says unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and he says unto them, I found in him no fault at all. Beloved brothers and sisters, this is exactly what Shaul Paul emphasizes when he is writing now to Timothy.

Timothy, I want you to understand the example that we have from our blessed Lord Yeshua he was the one who before pilot witnessed the good confession what was he witnessing to he witnessed to the truth and that's why he said to pilot the governor you say that i am the king you said it yes i am the king i am the king of the Jews as we read in Matthew when he was born that he was called the king of the Jews our Jewish people melech ha-yehudim we say in Hebrew he said for this end. Was i born and for this cause came i into this world i came to this world i was born for this purpose that i will become the king of the Jewish people and the king of Kings and Lord of lords and they said i came that i should bear witness unto the truth and you see beloved brothers and sisters Yeshua gave a good witness unto the truth of the word of God Paul gave a good witness unto the truth of Yeshua the Messiah Timothy as we have already read in first Timothy chapter six he himself in verse 12 gave a good profession and you and i are called to give a good witness to the world around us of who Yeshua is the truth concerning the need that man has of a Savior that will save him from his sin and sins and will give him a hope because God is the one that gives life to all and everyone who believe on the Lord Yeshua the Messiah may have everlasting life that's.

Why we read here in this verse 13 that God who gives life who quickens all things God is able to give life to everyone that have trusted in Yeshua, Jesus, our Messiah. And so the Lord gave such a wonderful witness before Pontius Pilate. And Paul uses the testimony of the Lord to the truth to influence and encourage Timothy to fight this good fight of faith. The world will seek to discouraged the flesh is weak Satan attacks but the believer in Yeshua the Messiah is able i can do all things through the Messiah who strengthened me Paul said to the Philippians and Timothy you can do it as you look to the Lord for help as he lead you and guide you in your life And also, dear beloved brothers and sisters and dear friends, you and I also can do that as we trust in our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.

Now notice what he said, Paul to Timothy, in verse 14 about the person of our Lord Yeshua, our Lord Jesus. He says that thou keep these commandments without spot unrebukable until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ Jesus the Messiah you see Timothy was called to keep the Lord's instruction and pole direction without spot without reproach until until when until the appearing of the Lord Jesus the Messiah the appearing connect us not so much as with the rapture of the church which will happen before the tribulation begins that is what we believe and what we see in Scripture but the appearing of the Lord will be at the end of the tribulation what does that mean when the Lord appears at his second coming every one of us who belong to the Lord who is part of the church we are going to come with him we are going to reign with him we are going to rule with him we're going to appear with him he's going to come at the end of the tribulation period he will restore the nation of Israel to himself he will fight against the enemies of Israel who will seek.

To do harm to the people of Israel he will establish a messianic kingdom where he will be the one who will reign and rule Israel as a nation will be a restored nation you and I were part of the ecclesia of the called out one we're gonna reign and rule with him and the whole world will recognize who Yeshua is you remember what he said to the disciples in the city of Jerusalem when they were anticipating for him to establish already the messianic kingdom he said to them in chapter 1 of the book of Acts in verse 8 but you shall receive power after that the holy Spirit is come upon you and you should be my witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth he was not going to establish then the messianic kingdom he was going to depart but he gave them the assurance that they will be his witnesses until his return and so what we read immediately in act chapter 1 and verse 9 when he.

Spoken those things they beheld he was taken up this is Yeshua was taken up and a cloud received him out of their sight they were looking and they were standing on mount olives har hazeitim they were looking up and lo and behold Yeshua was taken back to heaven and while they were looking up in verse 10 steadfastly into heaven as he went up behold two men stood by them with a white apparel which also said ye men of Galilee why stand ye gazing up into heaven this same Yeshua Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner as he has seen him go into heaven these are the verses in Acts 1 verse 9 10 and 11 you see he's going to come again he's going to appear again he's going to come back to this earth and he's going to reward the faithful servants of his in the messianic kingdom and so we read here how beautiful that Timothy is exhorted here in verse 14 keep this commandment without spot unrebukable until.

Until when until the appearing of our Lord Yeshua Jesus the Messiah he is coming again the same one that was once rejected by men he will surely come again he will surely return to rule and to reign and he is going to reward those who faithfully serving him and waiting for him here in this world i trust that you also and i will get encouraged by this and that we also may serve him and wait for the day of his return his appearing that he will reward us by saying well done, good and faithful servant. Paul wrote to the Corinthians in 1 Corinthians 9 about his service for the Lord.

He says in verse 16, for though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of, for necessity is laid upon me. Yea, woe unto me if I preach not the gospel, the besorah in Hebrew. For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward. But if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me, what is my reward then? Verily. That when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of the Messiah without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel Paul knew that he will be rewarded if he will faithfully preach that message and live for the Lord that is exactly what he's saying to his younger brother Timothy that he also will seek to be faithful because the Lord is going to appear and in his appearing he is going to reward those that were faithful unto him well now verses 15 and 16 he is now presenting again the Lord Yeshua the Messiah he says which in its own time he shall show who is the blessed and the only potentate the king of Kings and Lord of lords who only has immortality dwelling in light unapproachable who no man has seen nor can see to whom be honor and power eternal Amen you see God through his son notice it says in the end of verse 14 Jesus the Messiah and then verse 15 which in its own time he shall show you know the Lord Yeshua the Messiah.

Will show he will reveal to all who is the blessed one and who is the only potentate and who is the king of Kings and who is the Lord of lords you know Yeshua the Messiah is in a sense will direct everyone's attention to the true and living God and he will present God before all humanity the one that is the only blessed one in Hebrew the one who is the only potentate he is the one that Hebrew we call the only ruler over this world and then Yeshua will show who is the only king of Kings in Hebrew melech hamlachim and finally he's going to show who is the only Lord of lords adon haadonin God is the one that is the blessed one hamevorach the potentate hashalit the king of Kings melech hamlachim the adon the Lord of lords adon haadonin he is the only one according to verse 16 who is and who has immortality you see you and i are mortal we are subject to death but God is not subject to death as we have already pointed out.

In Psalm 90 verse 2 me olam ve'ad olam atahu Elohim from eternity to eternity thou art God God has immortality you and I are mortals when God created Adam and Eve when Adam fell into sin God said to him from the dust you came into the dust you will return and you and I also all of us are subject to death death is that which is a sentence that was given to man because of sin it was already given to our forefather Adam when he was in the garden of eden when he violated the word of God and plunged the whole human race into sin well beloved brothers and sisters and Dear friend, the only one who is not subject to death, who is immortal, is God.

And everything here in this world, like a leaf that is falling, everything is falling apart here in this world. But God is immortal. God is dwelling in a light unapproachable. No man has seen God at any time. No man can see God. To God belong the honor the power eternal as Paul mentioning here to Timothy and he used that word Amen may it be so Amen in Hebrew may it be so and it sure is so because God is eternal wonderful beloved brothers and sisters I remember when we were children and we would go to the synagogue and at the end of the feast of tabanakal at the end of the feast of sukkot we have a feast that is called simchat Torah the joy over the law the cycle of the reading of the Torah have ended and a new cycle began the new year began where there is a new beginning reading from bereshit from Genesis all the way unto Deuteronomy, Dvarim, and every year, it takes a year cycle to read it all together, a portion every time.

Well, as the scroll is being held by the men, our Jewish people, and as the people are marching throughout the synagogue, circle after circle, there is a song that is being sung and it's a precious song and the song is Adonai Melech Adonai Malach Adonai. Yimloch Leolam Vahed the Lord was king the Lord is king the Lord will be king and he will be king forever and ever this is so precious to know that God is the king of Kings and Lord of lords and he have given his son Yeshua the Messiah to be born the king of our Jewish people and actually as we read in the book of Revelation he is the king of Kings and Lord of Lord we read in Psalm 10 and verse 16, the Lord is king forever and ever.

The heathen perish out of his land. You see, the Lord is king forever and ever. He is the one that will reign forever and ever. In Psalm 47 and verse 7, we read, For God is the King of all the earth. God indeed is the King of all the earth. In Psalm 24 and verses 8 to 10, we read these words. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gate. Even lift them up, and ye everlasting doors, and the King of glory shall come in. And the question is asked, who is this King of glory? And the answer, the Lord of hosts.

In Hebrew the word is the capital L, capital O, capital R, capital D. This is the name Jehovah, Jehovah of hosts. He is the King of glory. And you see, beloved brothers and sisters, when our Lord Yeshua the Messiah is going to come? He is God the Son. He received this title as He is here on earth. When He is going to come at the end of the tribulation, and as the heaven opened, according to Revelation 19 and verse 11, and behold the white horse, and He that sat upon Him was called faithful and true, In righteousness he does judge and make war. He's going to come to destroy the enemies of the Antichrist and take the authority over this world, ruling over the people of Israel as a restored nation, ruling over the nations of the world.

And look what we read in verse 16 of Revelation chapter 19. And he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King of Kings and Lord of lords. Melech HaMelachim Ve'adon Ha'adonim. Wow, what a day that will be. I'm longing to see that day and how wonderful it will be when we are going to see our blessed Lord Yeshua the Messiah who is rejected by men today despised by men today he is going to come he is going to present the Godhead God himself as the one who is immortal dwelling in light of unapproachable who no man can see nor can see to whom belong the honor and to whom belong the power forever and ever what a wonderful future to await and so beloved brothers and sisters so far Timothy was exhorted by Paul in verse 11a to flee he was exhorted again in verse 11b to follow after in verses 12 to 16 Timothy was exhorted to fight and before Shaul Paul give Timothy the final charge which is the word to keep in verse 20 and 21 before he gets there he gives a little warning to believers in Yeshua the Messiah whom God have blessed here in this world he is telling them in verses 17 18 and 19 those words Paul exhort Timothy to charge those that are.

Wealthy those that are rich here in this world and he says in verse 17 18 and 19 charge them that i reach in this world that they be not high-minded nor trust in uncertain riches but in the living God who gives us richly all things to enjoy that they do good that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate, laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. You notice in verse 17a, be not high-minded. In verse 17a, do not trust in the uncertain riches in verse 17b but trust in the living God in verse 17b enjoy what God had given to you because everything that we have in our hands to enjoy it and we are to recognize that everything that was given to us was given to us from the Lord you remember what we read in James chapter 1 and verse 17 every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and cometh down from the father of lights with whom is no variableness neither shadow of turning you see everything that we have here in this world was given to us and that's why Paul's saying to Timothy in these verses 17 and on that the wealthy the people whom God had blessed materially here in this world to recognize that they ought not to be high-minded not to think of themselves better than somebody else and not to trust because those riches are uncertain they can be very quickly taken away from each and every one.

Of us and also to trust in the living God because God is alive God is a living God to trust in him and also to recognize that he gave us all things to enjoy yes to be thankful to enjoy what God had given unto us but never to be high-minded and not to trust in those riches. David said some years ago in Psalm 62 these words he said in verse 10 of Psalm 62 trust not in oppression and become not vain in robbery and if riches increase set not your heart upon them. God may bless some and give them means and wealth here in this world but the important thing is not to trust in those riches because they are uncertain riches and they can be removed from us very quickly and on the other hand what to do is actually to do good notice verse 18 to do good that they may be rich in good works, that they be ready to distribute, willing to communicate.

Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold of eternal life, which is life indeed. It is so amazing how important for believers to recognize this. Well, beloved brothers and sisters, the last charge that Paul gave Timothy, and with this he concludes the first epistle, the first letter, the last charge is found in verse 20 and 21. O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain bubblings, and oppositions of science falsely so-called, which some professing have heard concerning the faith. Grace be unto thee. Amen. In these last verses, the Apostle Paul charged Timothy to keep that which had been committed unto him.

You see, he was to flee certain things. He was to follow after certain things. He was to fight the good fight, but he was also to keep that which was committed unto his trust. You see, God have raised Timothy. God used Shaul, Paul, to lead him to Yeshua the Messiah. God used Timothy now to be a blessing to believers wherever he had gone. And now he left him in the city of Ephesus and Timothy was called to guard to keep that which had been committed unto him you know God teaches us truth and we need the Lord's help to hold on to these truths and not allow the enemy to take these things away from us that is exactly what the enemy desire to do he desire to take away from the believer the things that he or she learn and to cause them to stray and go away from the Lord you see beloved brothers and sisters was exhorted to hold on to guard that which had been committed unto him that word committed unto thee is like a deposit in Hebrew we call it pikadon certain truths that he gave him he want him to keep it to teach it to others not to allow anyone to teach him anything that is not right and then notice we say but turn away from the profane babblings and oppositions of the knowledge which.

Is falsely so called you see some people like the Gnostics at that time they claim to know things they claim that they knew God and probably knew God better than Timothy knew God or they claim that they knew truths well you notice what it's called here it's called opposition of the knowledge which is falsely so-called it's falsely called knowledge but it's really not knowledge the true knowledge found in the person of Yeshua the Messiah and just as we have read already in John 17 3 that they may know thee to know God the only true God and Yeshua HaMashiach whom thou had sent this is true knowledge but all these things that are called profane babblings and those who oppose the truth of God Timothy make sure that you are turning away from this guard strongly the things that had been already committed unto you and you see Timothy some professed that they know this truth they end up to err concerning the faith and they turn away from the truth of God some have already erred from the faith because of this Timothy.

And you see Timothy you turn away from this you hold on you guard you hold strong the things that you have been committed by the Lord and you notice how he closing he says grace be unto you in Hebrew and he closed with the word Amen oh beloved brothers and sisters Timothy needed a lot of grace Paul needed a lot of grace you and i need grace the grace of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah the same grace that save us we need the same grace that will help us that will keep us close to our Lord Yeshua the Messiah so this is the end of the letter to Timothy first Timothy and how thankful are we to be that we have such a letter in our hand the close remarks wars Timothy flee Timothy follow Timothy fight Timothy keep we are called to flee also we are called to follow also we are called to fight also and we are called to keep also the only way that.
